Top breakfast buffet. However, the air was super bad. The toilets could also be looked after a bit from time to time. For me, this always spoils the visit a little because a clean toilet is simply part of it.

I've been to Bernstein a few times, I have to say the food was quite good. Drinks and ambience are good. But my highlight was the waiter Ziwa or Ziwar, friendly, top, fast and with great drink recommendations. Anyone who has waiters like this can be sure that the store is represented phenomenally.

A very nice restaurant with a great view. Highly recommended, especially in summer, even if you just want something to drink. But the food is also worth it. It can get very crowded, so reservations are recommended.

Ich war länger nicht dort und fand es dort aber wieder sehr gut.Service war sehr gut und aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Ich vermisse nur die kleinen Frikadellen von früher, aber bei der reichhaltigen Auswahl ist das zu vernachlässigen. Ich werde jetzt wieder öfters kommen!!

Wir kommen aus dem Münsterland und haben vor unserem Bielefeld-Besuch das "The Bernstein" gebucht, und es war sehr schön. Der Service war sehr gut, das Essen sehr lecker und in der Mittagskarte vom Preis wirklich topp!

Today we were in Bernstein for the first time. It was generally too loud for me because it is quite large and also has an open kitchen. However, we had the best service in the world. Rojina was so attentive, friendly, calm and in a good mood that I have rarely experienced. Thanks for that ❤️

Narrow menu, but super tasty and rich. Great view over Bielefeld. Great roof terrace when the weather is nice!! Super nice and competent service staff, but a little overwhelmed when it's too busy. There's just a lack of staff!! Great and highly recommended place for “after work” or to go out for dinner with friends!! Keep it up!!

My girlfriend and her friends were with you this evening. The website says it's open until midnight. At 11 p.m. the unannounced question is asked “do you pay together or separately”. Shortly afterwards the lights were turned on and the music was turned off, even though there was still over 40 minutes left. According to the motto “now it’s finally possible”. Also, when you realized that the three girls weren't from Germany, you were treated differently. Slightly racist, I would say. Totally unpleasant and I'll want to talk to the boss there too.

A great location with breathtaking views. Very attentive friendly service. The cake was very tasty and the cocoa was exceptionally good.

Wir waren zum Frühstücks Buffet da gewesen. Gute und leckere Auswahl, für jeden ist etwas dabei. Von kleinen Brötchen, Croissants, Müsli, verschiedene Wurst und Käsesorten, Salate, Eier in diversen Zubereitungen, Wurst und gebratener Speck, Pancakes, Milchreis, Obstsalat und kleine Desserts und jede Menge mehr. Das Service Personal ist sehr hilfsbereit und immer freundlich! Wir kommen definitiv wieder.

It was our first time at Bernstein and we really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The offer was extensive and diverse, from cold toppings to warm snacks to desserts, salads, fresh fruit and muesli. Everything looked fresh and lovingly prepared, including a lot of things homemade on site, such as the rice pudding cooked with whole vanilla beans, pancakes with blueberry compote and small desserts. The location and the staff were friendly and welcoming, the terrace is definitely an additional highlight in the summer that we would like to check out because we were there at the beginning of January. All in all a great place to enjoy and relax. A look at the normal menu for breakfast, lunch and evening and the cocktails and wine list with changing seasonal offers will make you want to come back again. 10/10

The only good thing is the view. Food is tasteless and pricy. If they know the place is full then hire more people. Not worth the hype

Wir waren das erste Mal im Bernstein und haben das Frühstücksbuffet sehr genossen. Das Angebot war reichhaltig und divers von kalten Belägen über warme Kleinigkeiten zu Desserts, Salaten, frischem Obst und Müsli. Alles sah frisch und liebevoll angerichtet aus, darunter vieles vor Ort selbstgemacht wie zB der Milchreis mit ganzen Vanilleschoten gekocht, Pancakes mit Blaubeerkompott und kleine Desserts. Die Location und das Personal waren freundlich und einladend, die Terrasse ist im Sommer bestimmt ein zusätzliches Highlight, das wir uns gerne noch ansehen, denn wir waren Anfang Januar dort. Alles in allem ein toller Ort zum Genießen und Entspannen. Auch ein Blick auf die normale Karte zum Frühstück, Mittag, Abend und die Cocktails und Weinkarte mit wechselnden saisonalen Angeboten machen Lust auf ein Wiedersehen. 10/10

Das Frühstücksbuffet ist sehr zu empfehlen. Das Ambiente ist super schön und der Preis ist auch super für die Leistung.

Der Service war unterbesetzt und eher unfreundlich. Es wurde laut von Mitarbeitern telefoniert um interne technische Details zu klären. Wir mussten nach Butter fragen die am Buffet zunächst fehlte und dann gefroren war. Obwohl wir die erste halbe Stunde in einem sehr leeren Raum waren, bekamen wir einen Platz mit direkten Nachbarn. Unnötig. Preis-Leistung war insgesamt nicht mehr so gut wie früher. Wir werden darum zunächst nicht wieder kommen. Sehr sehr schade.

Dry salad and vegetables at breakfast a la carte. Coffee was already cold by the time breakfast finally arrived, we thought we had been forgotten. It took a good three quarters of an hour after placing the order until we received our breakfast.

Great afternoon in a nice restaurant. When me and my girlfriend were at home it was a disaster. We both had extreme stomach and intestinal problems after eating (lunch menu). Called the restaurant directly, the employee apologized and it was passed on to the kitchen. No compensation. Nothing. There's no question about how we're doing right now. That was my last visit.

But I didn't know there was a sweatpants party up there on Saturday night. There were 40% of the guys running around in jogging suits (the ugly gray version with yellow spots). And the worst thing about it: the pants hung so far down that you saw things you didn't want to see. Then the food came right back up. So the audience was really bad. It's better to look for a bar/restaurant where clothing is at least a little important and not everyone, no matter how shabbily dressed, is seated just before Christmas.

I was in Bielefeld today, December 28, 2024, and decided to have dinner at this restaurant, we were very satisfied. The atmosphere, the service and the food were above average, I suggest you visit if you come to Bielefeld

I've had very good meals here a few times. But now I was very disappointed. My pasta with artichokes and vegetables was barely seasoned and tasted very bland. On the other hand, my companion's tuna steak was too salty. I hope that was just a blip.

Price performance doesn't fit at all. The food was just ok but not tasty, homemade soda was too sour. Service a disaster.

Wonderful location with a view over Bielefeld. A successful evening, good drinks, excellent food and fast, attentive service are included in the price. The dishes are attractively served and the portions justify their price. Be sure to make a reservation, otherwise you will have to wait, especially in the evening.

Staff and location good. Unfortunately the shop was a bit noisy and the Long Island Icetea for €15 was... well, after that you were sober again. So no recommendation for it, other drinks were also expensive but ok.

We enjoyed a delicious breakfast there and opted for the rich buffet. The selection is impressive and includes all the classics, including salmon, scrambled eggs and mett. Nutella and a variety of jams are available for lovers of sweet delicacies. Cornflakes and muesli are also on offer. The ambience is extremely appealing, and when the weather is nice there is a wonderful view over the roofs of Bielefeld, which is simply inspiring. The service was extremely friendly and helpful, always there to fulfill our every wish.

The new lighting concept and the redesign were successful. Food is very tasty. You pay extra for the ambience and the view over the city. But in my opinion it's worth it.

Despite a reservation, you stand around at the reception for quite a while, even though it's not full. Stand around until an employee takes the trouble to accompany the guests to the table. Simply awesome!!

Ambiente sehr gut, unser Tisch war nur etwas sehr eng für 6 Personen. Personal sehr höflich und freundlich bei der Bedienung, leider nicht immer greifbar, was aber bei der Menge an Gästen zu verzeihen ist. Essen lecker wie immer, Auswahl reichlich, wird auch immer schnell nachgefüllt. Lautstärke war diesmal etwas hoch, aber noch ok. Es ist immer einen Besuch wert, wir werden wiederkommen.

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Abend bei the Bernstein. Bei der Buchung konnte ich zusätzlich angeben, um was für ein Treffen es sich handelt und ob es noch weitere Wünsche gibt. Da wir unseren Jahrestag dort gefeiert haben, hätten wir gerne einen Tisch am Fenster gehabt (so wie 2 Wochen vorher in der Buchung angegeben) Leider saßen wir dann direkt im Durchgangsbereich mit dem gefühl einfach so einen freien Platz bekommen zu haben. Es war trotzdem ein schöner Abend, aber in dem Fall könnten solche Abfragen auch sein gelassen werden.

Unfortunately, breakfast is not recommended at all. I had the vegan breakfast with vegan scrambled eggs. Some things were missing that were supposed to be there according to the menu. Plus, what was there tasted really weird. The vegetable sticks tasted like they were a few days old. The hummus was really inedible as was the vegan scrambled eggs, which just tasted burnt. The avocado was so hard and inedible that you would have needed a sharp knife to cut it. The “decoration” still tasted good. Unfortunately it's way too overpriced.

Ambiance? Unique Breakfast buffet? Rich and constantly fresh! Service? Attentive and quick. You should also be quick when booking a table so that you can find a place.

Good food and drink options, friendly staff, and the rooftop views are phenomenal. They do have light blankets on site so if you end up getting chilly and didn’t bring a jacket you can warm yourself up

It was easy to call at 6 p.m. and get a table for 9 people on a Sunday. The food was delicious and the staff was super friendly. We were just passing through but if we are in Bielefeld again we would like to come back.

Reserved a table at 7:00 p.m. We had to wait half an hour for this. We then had to wait another hour for drinks. Food came again a good 1 1/2 hours later. So we had to wait a good 2 1/2 hours for the food. It was a shame because the mood at the bachelorette party was pretty low due to the long waiting time. We won't visit again.

We made a reservation there online to surprise my daughter for her birthday. The online reservation probably didn't work out... but we still got a table... Service was super nice Food was fresh and very tasty Absolutely recommended

Unfortunately the service was extremely poor! We were there very regularly. However, the last few times we had to wait an extremely long time to order and for the drinks and food. The service was apologetic, totally snooty and completely listless! The location doesn't manage to make up for it either. As you can hear, I'm not the only one who has had such experiences. It's a shame, it used to be a really great shop. Hopefully that will change again at some point!

I reserved a table for my birthday and clarified everything in advance. Of course I was willing to pay a fee for the dishes, even for a small celebration. What was shocking, however, was the service!!!!!!!!!!! We were a group and were asked to leave the table after only about 1.5 hours - despite my reservation probably two weeks ago and the consumption of food and drinks. That's what I call generous hospitality! 😟 When I finally asked to bring the cake (which was also pre-arranged), I had to ask more than five times, with different waitresses. Nobody really took it seriously until I had to complain (unfortunately it wouldn't be possible to do something that I would have to save on my birthday!!) Some guests had come especially from Bielefeld and ended up having to leave in frustration - but the delay was the only thing they could really enjoy! My conclusion: stay away! Unfortunately, I will never plan an event or even have a coffee in this restaurant. I highly recommend looking elsewhere where service isn't such a mystery!

Don’t order Tomato Soup. It’s so bad. It feels like they only put tomato paste and it tastes like chemicals. We couldn’t finish it.

The restaurant lives from its ambience, unfortunately the quality of the food is not good enough for the price asked. We were there with a group and had to wait more than 2 hours for the food despite pre-ordering.

You really can't complain about the food. Is very very good. The service, however, was subpar. 45 minutes to the first drink. Nobody asks if you want anything else. Waiting forever to pay... Unbelievable.

We had breakfast there at the beginning of the week. We chose the buffet and I have to say, the decision was exactly right. The price was a little more than if I had ordered a “ready-made breakfast”, but I was able to get the right amount of cold cuts from the extensive selection presented. From rice pudding, cereals, breads, various rolls, cheese, sausage, scrambled eggs in 2 variations, even fried eggs, sausages and fruit salads, everything was available in abundance. The view over Bielefeld is worth it. We'll definitely be back.

Great location with attractive furnishings and good views. The price level is already high, but where is that currently not the case? Unfortunately I didn't like the service that much. The waitress was nice, but the place was full and there weren't enough of them, so she only had time to take the order and then show up again to collect the money. Ordering a second round of drinks was not possible.

Das Frühstücksbuffet war ganz nett. Auswahlt recht üppig, allerdings war für den Preis relativ viel nicht selber gemacht und obwohl wir zur Öffnung da waren nicht komplett frisch. Der Gouda war salzig. Die Bedienung war nett. Das ambiente schön. Allerdings war es trotz, dass wir unter der Woche da waren und es auch eher normal voll war, unheimlich laut.

Fantastic view in the heart of Bi...but: currently very disappointed. I ordered a very simple drink: homemade lemonade 0.4l for €5.90. With 3 gentle pulls through the straw the drink was empty. 3/4 of the glass was filled with finely crushed ice... So I sat thirsty in front of a glass of expensive frozen water that wasn't ready to melt either. For dinner I ordered a red Thai curry (?) soup for 10 euros. It came lukewarm (!) in a mini bowl with lots of bean sprouts... Actually it was cool, clear broth. Are you serious? Please think about that! You are not in Piazza San Marco in Venice. View or not... you really didn't pick me up. I mean, what's the problem with serving soup at least warm, if not hot? Is tap water so expensive that you can't even serve a sip syrup with 0.4 liters of water? I feel ripped off. No, I didn't complain. I don't discuss something like that on site and then demand something new.
