Steak and Burger Restaurant in Cologne-Deutz. Easily accessible by train and car. Parking is easy in the underground garage around the corner. The restaurant itself is cozy. Unfortunately, there are few partitions or elements, which somewhat dampens the acoustics. Everything is too open, so you have to speak more quietly to hold a conversation when all the seats are occupied. The food was well-seasoned and attractively presented. The prices were also typical for the area. During peak hours, the service couldn't really keep up with the kitchen. You had to wait a bit longer to place your order and receive your drinks and food, but it improved once the crowds had passed. Otherwise, the service was friendly and attentive.

I was there for lunch. I quickly got a table and the menu. It was dirty, meaning bread crumbs fell out when I opened it. I found the menu itself rather confusing and unwieldy. The lunch menu was only brought to me (as were other guests) after I asked. Among other things, there was a chicken burger to order. This was topped with two small pieces of chicken. The price for the lunch menu was okay; the burger tasted good, but the fries had a lot of small pieces and didn't have much flavor. Prices, apart from the lunch menu, are excessive (e.g., a bowl of mayo for €1.75). The restaurant is relatively dimly lit, and the seats at regular tables are comfortable. It took a while to pay. There was only one person there to take orders and process payments. Conclusion: It was okay for lunch, but for more, there are better options in terms of quality and value.

The service was top-notch – a young, blond man! The steaks, side dishes, and desserts were very good, hence the 4 stars. Close to the Lanxess Arena, within walking distance from here, it's a great place to walk. You pay €4 per hour for parking almost everywhere in K.

The food was very tasty and the quality was certainly excellent. Unfortunately, there were some significant deductions for a few things: 1.) The menu stated that the starter plate included king prawns, but they weren't on the platter. 2.) The price of €29.75 for this platter, which mainly consisted of bread and cocktail tomatoes, is, to be honest, a bit high. 3.) The waiter was very attentive and friendly, but since they were completely understaffed, you can't really call it service. We had to wait forever for everything. 4.) For example, our main course, which was ready for 10 minutes (you can always see into the open kitchen). The kitchen rang for the waiters at least three times, but no one came, so our main course was simply cold. 5.) The language used on the plates should also be reconsidered. I thought my steak was presented with a really poor presentation. Why didn't we complain about the shortcomings? Because everything took forever due to point 3.)! My second drink didn't arrive until after I'd finished everything. We just wanted to get out. The 3 stars are really only because the waiter was very friendly and helpful, and the quality of the food was excellent. It's just a shame. We had hoped for much more.

I was here for lunch. It's a very good, reasonably priced lunch menu with a selection of dishes and drinks. From the terrace and some of the seats inside, you can even see the cathedral. There are still a few office containers left over from the construction site towards the train station.

Reserved for American brunch for two people. Nice, more upscale atmosphere. Arrived at 11:15 a.m. At first there was no one to welcome us as the location was moderately full. After a short wait, we were escorted to the (high) table, even though we had specifically stated in the reservation that a high table was not desired. When we then eagerly went to the long-awaited buffet, we were shocked to find out, at less than 11:30 a.m., that only a few baked rolls and a few slices of semi-hard cheese and liver sausage were served. No bread (the bread knife was there alone), no crossaints (you could only see the splintered pieces of dough), no cold cuts, no salad - everything was empty. The warm lunch dishes such as chicken wings, spare ribs and rosemary potatoes were 1/3 full. Of course, it could be that we caught a very bad moment when everything was being prepared from scratch. The fact that the guests who pay the same buffet price as everyone else are presented with such an emptiness of various dishes at the same time is unacceptable for this price. We're definitely not coming back, what a shame!!

Reserved a table via Opentable at least 2 months ago for brunch on Mother's Day. It's a shame when the guests are placed at the top! A cool reception at the entrance. However, the waitress in charge was very friendly and on the ball. The food was good 👍. However, the fruit glasses were very often not available. A little annoying. It's plentiful, you'll be full. The drink prices are a little steep. Nevertheless, I recommend Sunday brunch! However, if a reservation was made 2 months in advance to seat the guests upstairs, I still find it questionable! 4 stars!

We went to eat on site and found a very stressed and annoyed staff. - Drinks came quite late - The boss? I was sweating a lot on my face and wiped the sweat off with my hand several times but didn't wash my hands afterwards - A waitress was in a constant argument with the kitchen. Once she brought out an unfinished plate, then the next table got the wrong meat. - The colleagues in the kitchen shat on the young colleague several times and clearly audibly. - Once all the waiters were away for a long time and the kitchen bell rang several times. This went so far that a cook came out of the kitchen and distributed the food himself. - A glass on our table still had noticeable lipstick stains on it. In addition to the service, I have to admit that the food was A1. The potatoes for the starter were my favorite, the fillet was very good. My stay in TheAsh was really great. We were there on Valentine's Day where the tables were decorated with heart balloons. It was very busy so we had to wait a bit but the food was worth it. The cheeseburger was very good and the lava cake to round it off was just perfect. After dinner we were able to sit at the bar and enjoy a couple of cocktails 👍

The Ash, franchise. Not the most exclusive location in Cologne at Deutzer Bahnhof. But exclusive prices. Didn't find the ambience as good as The Ash in Aachen (there alone the large video screen above the kitchen, plus one floor, nicer furnishings). Yes, big, high windows (I couldn't tell if there was a first floor like in Aachen), a touch of America, yes, very friendly staff, but I didn't think the food was great and what you get for the money is not much. Had spare ribs for €29. One expects something. Only salad as a side dish, no fries. If you strip away the bones, which you are aware of, there isn't much meat left. The BBQ sauce was also bland. Not spicy, spicy. So I didn't get enough of it. My wife's burger for €18 was dry in terms of meat and now had little side dish on it, hardly any sauce. Then she voluntarily gave me half. Quote from my wife: she hasn't eaten such a bad burger in a long time (but I didn't think it was particularly special either). So with a drink each with a total button €60 without a tip at the end for 2 people, no thanks. We didn't like it, tasted good and impressed. Nevertheless, there was a lot going on on Sunday. PS: I remembered that the sauce and spareribs at Ash Aachen weren't any better either. But at least there was Himalayan salt on it. Well, no reason for a repeat - neither in Cologne nor Aachen.

Service was non-existent, which would have been appropriate given the selection of coffee specialties and juices (none at all, there was only filter coffee) to at least be able to order them. An evening full of culinary contrasts – that’s probably the best way to sum up our visit to The Ash. We arrived with a group of around 25 people in great anticipation, ready for an enjoyable evening. What followed was a logistical spectacle that would have done credit to Kafka. The kitchen seems to have met our group's onslaught with a remarkable degree of improvisation - the food arrived at our tables in an order that could be described as creative at best. While some had already finished their plates, others were still waiting hungrily for what was (perhaps) to come. In at least one case, the food even had to be ordered again - a concept that is certainly innovative, if not necessarily efficient. The service made an effort – which, as we all know, is the little brother of “overwhelmed” – and revealed a certain artistic freedom in dealing with organization and coordination. Nevertheless: The food, if it found its way to the guest, was excellent. Tastes convincing, attractively presented - a kitchen that masters its craft when it comes into play. Conclusion: If you have time, patience and a penchant for slight absurdity, you will dine well here. For larger groups, however, it is advisable to consider either the principle of self-catering - or a miracle.

A huge minus: TIPPING The manager really shouldn't be surprised if he's short-staffed these days. And guests shouldn't be surprised why the service is sometimes "overwhelmed" and understaffed. The manager charges the server a 10% tip on every bill - regardless of whether the server received a tip or not. Example: Bill of €100 + 10% = €110 The server must give the manager €110 - regardless of whether the person received €100 or €115 from the guest. This means: If you don't receive a tip, you have to pay the missing 10% out of your own pocket. Splitting the actual tip with the rest of the staff would be okay, but always adding a 10% tip to the manager?!?! Sorry, that doesn't work for me. It was my first and last time there. Great atmosphere, great food, great location, etc. If you want to eat there in the evening/on the weekend, you should make a reservation. We were lucky enough to get a table spontaneously. Unfortunately, this restaurant also has a staffing shortage—like almost everywhere in the restaurant industry. The service at our table was really great, despite the staff shortage and the lack of time (since so many tables have to be looked after by one person).

We went to brunch at The ASH Köln MesseCity on Sunday, which unfortunately didn't impress us. The hot food consisted largely of convenience foods (fried mozzarella balls, fried wings, and reheated pancakes). It also came with an egg dish (scrambled eggs from a tetra pack). Fresh fruit was completely absent. Overall, the food seemed rather lacking in quality. On the plus side, the service deserves special mention, hence the 3 stars.

Unfortunately we were disappointed with the brunch. We found nothing American about salmon, liver sausage or mett. Unfortunately there was no fruit to be found and the sausage/cheese platters were typically German. The pancakes were missing maple syrup and there were no muffins or donuts to be found either. It was great that coffee was included and the service was nice. In total we spent 160 euros for 4 people (including tip) and found it quite expensive for the selection on offer. Unfortunately we won't be coming back.

We were there for brunch, but unfortunately we were all a bit disappointed. We expected more choice, for example there was no fruit, fried eggs, hard-boiled eggs or selection of toppings for waffles that had to be made yourself. Muesli only came in a ready-made package and I've never seen it like that before. The pancakes weren't kept warm, so they weren't really tasty if you were unlucky enough not to get any warm ones. They couldn't keep up with refilling either, the vanilla sauce for the waffles was empty, the jam was empty, and there weren't any plates available for a long time, even though it wasn't overcrowded. Wouldn't recommend it and I definitely won't go here again for brunch, there are far better places for the same price. But the service was very nice.

The burger was very tasty. The gentleman with dark hair in his mid-50s and poor German is completely unsuitable as a waiter. Not only did he forget our drinks and only brought them after we had finished and asked him to pay, but he was also very unfriendly when we took the order. When we didn't give a tip - one of our very rare moments - he left without comment and didn't even say "bye". Unfortunately we won't be coming back.

Surf and Turf is pure fraud. For a dish that cost over EUR 40, there were 4 small shrimps on my plate. This has nothing to do with King Prawns as it says on the menu. I asked the waiter about it and got a straight answer: All the guests would complain about it, but that's just how it is and there's nothing you could do about it. The announcement would come from the very top. I've never experienced anything so outrageous. My complaint was simply ignored and ignored.

We were very disappointed with the food. We returned the tuna tartare. In return we got a good tuna tataki. For the main course we had the spare ribs - a big disappointment. The side salad ColeSalat definitely didn't taste like it was homemade. More from Metro and the spareribs were not seasoned with meat. Very bland and the barbecue sauce was supposed to bring out the flavor. Unfortunately we cannot recommend this and it is too expensive. Spare ribs for €29.00 are very expensive.

The place is very nice, the environment is informal and refined. The waiters are all friendly and come by often to see if anything is needed. The wait was a bit long, it's true we were a nice group, but we waited 1 hour to eat. The food was ok. Considering that you can easily leave over €100 for two people, it could actually be presented a little nicer. And we had promised ourselves more. One steak was good, one was quite tough. But what didn’t work was the “boss”. His treatment of the employees was unpleasant for us as guests. We found the selection at brunch to be too little for the price. When comparing the offer with other locations in the price range, we noticed the following: - No bowls for jam. These are not beautifully presented, but remained in the sales jar. - Pancakes are not on a warming plate and were cold. - Waffles have to be made yourself (fat splatters) and the waffle iron is not cleaned (dough stuck to the sides and leaked out). Just vanilla sauce as a topping. No powdered sugar, cherries or maple syrup for the pancakes. - The warm dishes are ready in the morning and that's how they taste. Rock hard pasta with no taste. Too little selection. - Salad buffet is not appealing. - Poor bread/roll selection. No mares or brown bread. - In our opinion, there is a lack of finger food (small wraps or similar) - Service staff could have cleared the table more often or asked for drinks. There were only three tables occupied, so it was an almost empty restaurant. - There is only one type of cereal that is packaged in plastic. - I happened to notice that a guest had been given a fresh fried egg upon request. This achievement should have been pointed out on a sign. - No fruit. - It was very cold in the restaurant due to the ventilation. The selection of cold cuts, which also tasted very good (salmon, meat, cheese, etc.) is positive. The pancakes and waffles were also very tasty, the pancakes would have tasted even better warm. There was unlimited coffee and orange juice. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant and the staff was very friendly.

Been here for the first time with friends. I have to say it's stylish and the staff is friendly. You wait for an idea until you have something to drink, but the burger came quickly. Sorry about the burger, it wasn't ideal, but the neighbor's steak looked great and I'll try that too.

We were particularly disappointed with the service. Plates were not cleared at the table, drinks were not requested, and after being spoken to, people responded with annoyance. Coffee (pots at the buffet) was empty for a long time, scrambled eggs were not refilled for a long time, plates were not available and had to be requested. Overall not satisfactory.

Food was very tasty. Unfortunately, one or two side dishes were already cold when the food was served. The ambience exudes a high-quality charm if you don't look too closely. The sanitary facilities have seen better days: the floor is sticky. Given the location and the prices quoted, I would expect something different.

Die Curliefries waren kalt als sie kamen. Das Steak war leider nicht so zubereitet wie bestellt . Statt well done kam es blutig. Essen war lieblos angerichtet. Für dieses Preis erwartet man etwas anderes und mehr. Als Nachtisch haben wir Cappuccino und Chesesecake bestellt. Cappuccino kam, Cheesecake leider nicht. Als der Cappuccino kalt bzw. Ausgetrunken war, kam der Cheesecake. Schade.

Beim ersten besuch einen Apfelstiel im Applecrumbel. Beim zweiten Besuch ein Knochen im "Maishuhn" aif dem Burger. Zweimal ist kein Zufall und für das Preis/Mängen verhältnis darf so etwas nicht passieren.

Nice restaurant and nice service. The vegan chicken was good as were the fries. The steak from the 3D printer looked very realistic and tasted okay. It didn't entirely convince me, but I'm not the biggest steak fan either.

Food at The Ash was fantastic! I particularly like the option of putting together the burger according to your own wishes - everyone can find something to suit them here, regardless of their diet. The quality of the food is top and the service is always courteous and friendly, even when the house is full. One star deducted because of the volume, but otherwise a clear recommendation!

Wir waren heute zum Weihnachtsbrunch hier und ich muss sagen sehr reichhaltiges Buffet von Spareribs bis Steak und Lobster sogar für Vegetarier ist etwas vorhande für den Preis lässt es keine Wünsche offen. Kleines Manko Latte Macchiato und Cappuccino könnten etwas heißer sein. Wir kommen wieder.

Fantastic food and service on our final night in Köln. The burgers, cannelloni and chicken supreme were all delicious. Only one of our party managed a dessert who said it’s the best apple crumble he has tasted. The bar staff Alejandro, Özay and Gregorio were very attentive providing fabulous service.

Unfortunately, The ASH did not live up to my expectations. The ambience is fulfilling and in my eyes it gets full marks. Modern and appealing. You look forward to a relaxing stay. Unfortunately, the rest doesn't match the beautiful ambience in any way. Service not ok, food average, etc A smile from the staff, none, it took a very long time to get drinks and they didn't even ask if everything was OK. The burgers, probably frozen goods, were far too dry. There are restaurants that are leagues better We waited a long time for the bill, even though there wasn't much going on. When we left, no goodbye, nothing. It's a shame, but no repeat from my side. Make up your own mind.

The restaurant doesn't have high chairs, and babies are generally difficult to accommodate. We felt very unwelcome. The waiter was unfriendly and dismissive, and I'd rather not give him a star for service. The pizza was very hard, but OK. Overall, a rather difficult visit.

The Riphahn in Cologne is a real gem! Whether in the morning with breakfast or in the evening with the varied evening menu - every visit here is a pleasure. The quality of the food is consistently excellent and the atmosphere is simply inviting. For me the most beautiful place in Cologne for years!
