Thang Long in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Obwohl das Lokal nur zur Hälfte besetzt war, musste man lange warten, bis man bestellen konnte. Das Wasser für den Hund wurde komplett vergessen. Das Personal schien überfordert zu sein. Das Essen war nur mittelmäßig. Das Gemüse zur Ente sah aus, als käme es aus dem Glas. Laut Karte sollte das Gericht scharf sein. Es war ungewürzt. Ich werde nicht mehr dorthin gehen.

Clean tables, friendly service, generous portions. The two of us ordered shrimp fried rice, rice noodles, spring rolls, and wontons. Wontons and spring rolls were served first, and after a delicious meal, rice noodles and shrimp fried rice were served. It was delicious, but the portion was too much, so I ended up taking out the shrimp fried rice. It was a filling and pleasant European evening. Please note that only cash payment is accepted.

The food tastes very good. The portions are very large. The service could be a little more attentive. Cash only.

We had dinner twice from this place during our trip to Garmisch. All the dishes we tried was delicious. Quantity, quality and service was outstanding. Staff were really keen on helping us. They speak English as well so its more convenient for travellers. We trued sushi, pho, crispy duck, etc and all the items were top notch

Very busy restaurant. Service very good. Peking soup is uniquely delicious. Never had such good soup. We were there twice in our 7 day week in Garmisch. All the dishes we had, duck, Thai, etc., were very tasty and a very good price. Attention, only cash payment as with most Asians ;-) unfortunately. We would eat there again and again.

Great place for asian cuisine. I was in the mood for crispy duck and it was delicious! The staff was very friendly and spoke english. Everything from my boba tea, Vietnamese coffee, to my meal, was hot, tasty and delightful. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Garmisch!

Very good pho and Thai curry chicken

We ate here twice in the two days we were at Garmisch. The chicken Pho and the duck were our favorites!

We ordered takeaway today. Price/performance ratio was great. The service was also not objectionable. Clear recommendation! Delicious. 5 deserved stars.

I called and ordered takeout for 2 people (vegetarian mini spring rolls + chicken fried rice + chicken fried noodles). It was ready for collection after 15-20 minutes for around €30. Chopsticks were included with the meal :) The food was super tasty and more than enough in quantity. Value for money therefore top 👍

We were there on Saturday evening. It was relatively well attended. We were well served. However, I had vomiting diarrhea all night long and for the next few days. Since that was the only meal of the day where I ate something different from the others, only my dish number 20 (chicken with rice and vegetables) was an option . So my conclusion: Not recommended!

Really delicious food, cozy atmosphere. Incredibly fast service for our meal and drinks. We had Satay, so tasty. Very tender. Damn good sauce on it. My partner had curry with rice and the heat was just right with very tender protein and vegetables. 🥕 The rice was absolutely perfect. I had beef 🥩 with onions. Very similar to Mongolian beef, just the right amount of sauce to rice ratio. A lot of onions 🧅 , but that’s your preference Only ding on this review is that it **was** a little bit more expensive than I thought. The bathroom wasn’t great but you know, that’s life 🤷‍♂️

Really enjoyed the food here. The portion sizes are generous and even the kids portion could fill up an adult. The flavor was great on both fried noodles and fried rice. not sure where the bad reviews about the staff came from. Our waiter was friendly and patient.

The dirtiest restaurant we have even seen. The bathroom is scary, there are spiders everywhere. The food was okay.

It seems Thang Long firmly believes that great food is the cornerstone of a memorable dining experience, and while they've certainly nailed that aspect, a little more attention to customer service would elevate the overall experience. Despite the service hiccups, Thang Long is undoubtedly worth a visit for its exceptional food and charming atmosphere. Just manage your expectations when it comes to the hospitality side of things.

I was at the point where I wasn't feeling well because I had a cold, but the rice noodle soup was really delicious. The quantity was large, the price was good, and I was very satisfied :)

Decent Asian restaurant right near the train station. The chicken in peanut sauce was a bit watery, but with enough vegetables. Unfortunately, the fried rice with tofu was a bit lacking in taste. Unfortunately, the still water tasted thoroughly like tap water. All in all just OK. Basically, cooking seems to be done without flavor enhancers.

Very friendly employees, the performance ratio is great. We had mini spring rolls and each a portion of fried noodles with chicken. Food was brought quickly and was still very hot and super tasty. Charming little outside area. Service very attentive and quick. Gladly again 😊

Well, firstly the staff are not welcoming and kinda making us move fast and we haven't finished browsing the menu and are already asking us what to order first even though i already told him that we will order a little bit later. As I observe they are hospitable in their own kind. tho the servings are so superb. so big servings. we didn't even finish the dish and we asked for a take out and he gave us tup to put our food in it. 😅 The lady who gave us the bill was nice and we saw her at the White Night later that day, she even waved at us. sooo nice! No card payment, only cash.

I came because of the good reviews but the dish I ordered was VERY average. The crispy duck was more than 2/3 fat and batter. I felt disgusting after eating it. The rice was cold and the vegetables were clearly of the frozen variety. I was impressed by the size when I first saw it, but I was disappointed after taking my first bite. In fact, I wasn't planning on writing a review. I thought I would just politely tell them when I paid (I should have told them after I had started eating and asked for a replacement, but I was starving after having not eaten the whole day apart from some fruit. I had been on a long hike. Unfortunately I couldn't wait any longer to start eating) but the lady who took my money didn't even offer an apology. In any case, I ought to warn future customers. Maybe I was just unlucky, as most of the other reviews seem to be fairly good. I don't know. But maybe go for one of the safer options on the menu if in doubt.

I recently visited this restaurant, and my experience was nothing short of disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the service was lackluster. The staff seemed uninterested and inattentive, making us feel unwelcome. The food was equally dismal. I ordered the fried rice with chicken, my mother-in-law a fried rice with beef, and my father-in-law a fried rice with shrimp. All are apparently same base dish with different toppings slapped on. There was no distinction in flavor or quality between the variations. It was as if the restaurant didn’t care to put any effort into making each dish unique or flavorful. The Kung Pao Chicken was a particular letdown. It bore no resemblance to the classic dish, lacking the expected spicy, savory, and slightly sweet flavors. Instead, it was a bland, uninspired pile of chicken with no real taste. Overall, my visit to this restaurant was a regrettable experience. Poor service and subpar food left a bad taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively. I won't be returning, and I certainly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a satisfying meal.

The food is sub-par...I have yet to eat anything here that tasted close to what we paid for it. There are better Thai options in Garmish and definitely better Sushi options in garmish for the price you are paying.

The staff is really very friendly and accommodating! They tried very hard and the food was there after just a few minutes. The starter (chicken skewers) was very bad. It cost 6€ and was only 2 small thin skewers, each with 3 tiny pieces of meat, consisting only of fat and tendons. You really couldn't eat it. Shame about the money! The spring rolls were good. (Classic vegetarian frozen spring rolls). The main course (chicken with rice and vegetables in Tai curry sauce) was also ok. The other one (fried chicken with vegetables in Kung Pao sauce was also ok. Nothing special. But too expensive for the money.

Ordered sweet and sour duck. The food was ready in no time, the service was friendly, and the sanitary facilities were also clean. The duck was very crispy and the portion and rice were perfect! I couldn't recognize the sweet and sour sauce as such at first because it only tastes very subtle and not as intense as most Asian dishes, which may be because it's cooked without glutamate? If this is the case, keep it up!

Unfortunately, quite a failure! Very loud beer garden, ok the restaurant can't help it. Menus are pretty worn out, but we gave it a try... Unfortunately, it was extremely unpleasantly slapped together, indefinable stuff that looked like ready-made Chinese sauce with some vegetables and scraps of meat and was unfortunately not very tasty either; Not at all, bah. The waitress said she would order something else soon?! Unfortunately, the biggest problem came that night in the form of severe food poisoning for one of us!! Other causes could be easily ruled out and traced back to a chicken dish there. So stay away and never Thang Long again! More of a case for the health department...

Simply wow, I can't say anything else, the price-performance ratio is really great. The sushi we had was fresh and extremely tasty. I have never eaten it so well before. The starter and main course of rice with chicken in coconut sauce were also really good. Would visit the restaurant again and again. Great go on!

Waiting indoor for around 30 mins. Stuff just ignored me. After 30 mins I asked if I can dine in and they told me all tables have been reserved. Spending 30 mins like an idiot standing there.

We ordered veg crispy rolls with avocado red peppers, fried vegetarian noodles with tofu and rice n curry with tofu and kung pao sauce . Honestly, the food wasn’t good noodles were too much oily and rice curry with sauce tasted like tomato ketchup. Noodles were missing the appropriate spices ,actually there were no flavour in either of the dishes.

Super tasty sushi. Everything went without any problems. Would recommend to everyone, good choice between vegetarian and non vegetarian. In general there is a large selection of dishes. The only negative thing is the wall which is full of cobwebs. Otherwise very nice

A vietnamese restaurant that also has sushi seemed like an odd combination so we had to try it. The Sushi was better than expected - well prepared and presented, great size. The Tofu with veggie and sauce, coconut and peanut, was delicious. The sauce was creamy and tasty and went well with the rice. The sweet and sour chicken was 'eh.' The chicken was well made and great serving size, however the sauce didnt seem sweet or sour as if it wasn't sure what it should be. The menu does have other options and the restaurant is very clean - staff is friendly and helpful.

We ordered Wonton Soup, Peking Soup, Mixed fried noodles & fried rice. all the dishes were delicious 🤤 Taste: 10/10 Portion: 10/10 Location: 10/10 (2 minutes walk from the Garmisch-Partenkirchen station). As Indians, we love spicy food. So we requested them to cook our food with extra chilli 🌶️ They added some red chili which was super spicy and we loved it. Hot and spicy dishes were very tasty. We were so satisfied that we didn't want to look for another place to eat. We had both our lunch and dinner here.

Went as a group of four for dinner. We are vegetarians and were able to find vegetarian dishes for all. The taste of the food was not the best. Some of the dishes were good like vegetarian mango avocado sushi and spring rolls. Some were only ok like veg fried rice, veg noodles and veg kung pao sauce. Also only cash accepted here.

Ich hatte vorsorglich reserviert. Ich wurde sehr freundlich empfangen, die Bestellung wurde sehr schnell aufgenommen und das Getränk wurde gleich gebracht. Die Peking Suppe hat sehr gut geschmeckt, die knusprige Ente mit Gemüse war reichlich und ebenfalls sehr gut. Ich werde wieder kommen!

Wir waren letzten Mittwoch dort essen und hatten 2 unterschiedliche Bratnudelgerichte. Beide Gerichte waren sehr lecker und eine ordentliche Portion von der man auf jeden Fall satt wird. Schön wäre es wenn der Bubbletea eine größere Auswahl an Bubbles zum auswählen hätte.

Pho tasted very good and service was friendly and fast. Toilets were clean. Only a shame there were a lot of flies and wasps on the window inside.

Essen war sehr lecker. Nur begrenzte Anzahl an Plätzen. Service war gut und freundlich. Es war aber offen gestanden auch nicht außergewöhnlich und leider war nur Barzahlung möglich.

Fantastic variety of Asian food and lovely ambiance. We enjoyed their Sauvignon Blanc, I also had a coconut bubble tea, and we had curry tofu and chicken with mixed vegetables. Everything was bursting with flavor but not overly spicy (you can request spicy if you like). A great place for vegetarians, vegans, pescetarians, and meat lovers.

Das Thang Long ist ein sehr schönes unscheinbares Thai Restaurant. Das Ambiente ist drinnen sehr modern und schick. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und höflich. So kommen wir aber zum wichtigen Thema das Essen: wer klassische Thailändische Küche sucht wird hier fündig, die Sommerrollen waren super frisch der Dip war mega lecker dazu. Das Sushi und sashimi (zwar in diesem Fall japanisch) war auch frisch zubereitet und hatte die perfekte Temperatur also nichts gekühlt alles frisch. Sushi war auch eine 5 von 5. Zu den Haupt-Speisen einmal Reis mit knuspriger Ente + Erdnuss-Curry und einmal Pho. Die Ente vom Curry war wie alles andere frisch zubereitet sehr saftig und schön kross außen, dass Curry hatte eine leichte Schärfe und perfekte Würzung. Die Pho hatte eine schöne kräftige Brühe die Zutaten waren schön frisch dazu ganz typisch Minze, Limette, Sojasprossen und Chili um die Pho als Beilage um nach Belieben die Suppe geschmacklich anzupassen. Alles in allem richtig lecker. Auf jeden Fall für jeden zu empfehlen.

Food 4/5 Service 1/5 Unfriendly staff. Food was good. But what is the use of only taste of it spoils ur experience with unkind staff. Don’t know what was the problem with the last staff. We being foreign to the place and too Vietnamese food but enthusiastic to try something new we visited. Staff was giving facial weird expression as if uncomfortable with our questions. We were asking basic questions like whether a particular dish was curry based or dry, nothing rocket science to answer. Spring roll was yummy -5/5 Rice with vegetables-3/5

Having quickly tired of heavy German classic fare — is it any wonder the Italian and other ethnic restaurants are packed with locals? — we were delighted to settle on this Asian alternative, basically Vietnamese with sushi add-ons. Everything was delicious and the service was attentive. Highly recommend the crispy duck curry.

We visited this place during a trip through Oberbayern. We stayed in a hotel close to this restaurant and looked for an asian style dinner. The place does not look shiny. But rather more important than a nice interior was the kitchen. We had some spring roles as starter and a house speciality menu including beef and noodles. The food was just amazing. Very tasty and made with asian spices. Very, very good. The service was also very friendly and highly efficient. We liked the evening in this place very much.

Day 13 of our 2022 EuroAdventure from Budapest to Paris by planes, trains, river cruise, automobiles, and buses. Big fans of regional cuisine but at the Passion Play intermission, we wanted to try something different. We found this spot which wasn’t overly busy. And there are good reasons for that. We had sushi, rolls, sashimi, miso soup, hot tea, wine, und bier. Nothing to write home about. But. For the entertainment value…was a fantastic show of “50 ways to confuse the server(s)”. ‘‘Twas inadvertent but the results were quite comical at many levels. It took an average of two tries to get out orders right. Some more. We got our food. We ate to our fill. We quenched our hunger. Overall it was harmless fun. Yes, a bit on the expensive side. Service was not prompt. A plus on attentiveness and courtesy. Heck I’ll come back. Maybe in ten years. The manager ended up coming to the rescue of the server. A lot. Check it out!

Im Sommer sitzt man im kleinen Gastgarten, die übrige Zeit nimmt man im Inneren mit dem minimalistisch-preisgünstigen Interieur vorlieb. Die Corona Regeln werden eingehalten, die Zugangsvoraussetzungen für die Gäste überprüft. Nicht so ganz überzeugt sind wir von der Hygiene. Beanstandet wird der allgemeine Zustand der Speisekarten. Die vorgeschriebene hygienische Behandlung von Tischen und Stühlen nachdem Gäste das Lokal verlassen haben erfolgt nur symbolisch, ist also praktisch nicht vorhanden. Die Servicedame aus Saigon schränkt die Konversation mit dem Gast auf das Allernötigste ein. Die angebotenen Speisen sind qualitativ grundsätzlich nicht zu beanstanden, sind aber dem deutschen Geschmacksempfinden angepasst. Leute mit Vietnam-Erfahrung vermissen Authentizität. Neuerdings bekommt man beim Zahlen sogar eine ordnungsgemäße Rechnung.

There are many choices on the menu which means that this is ideal for a large group. I didn’t particularly like the choices I made off the menu, but that’s my problem. The staff that was there were ran off their feet but excellent. I suspect this is a family ran business. Would return.. but not do the crispy rolls this time

Both our dishes, a house-specialty (Vietnamese) and a kind of fried veggie sushi, were excellent. Service, seeing that the terrace was full, was still decently quick. Good customising of the dish to our taste, with extra chilli sauce on request. We were spoilt for choice in the menu, with also lots of Japanese-style and Chinese style dishes. Great to recommend!
