Taverne Pegasos in Düsseldorf

Wenn ich in ein Restaurant gehe egal ob griechisch, italienisch oder deutsch möchte ich mich wie in diesem Land fühlen können und hier war es einfach griechisch auch wenn die außen Terrasse etwas mehr Wohlfühlambiente hätte hergeben müssen. Von innen hörte man die griechische Musik Das Essen war sensationell wirklich Sensa Pensa.... Und wenn ich zum Griechen gehe dann weiß ich es ist einfach teuer Ich hatte einen griechischen Salat wirklich tip top mit echten schwarzen Oliven nicht mit geschwärzten, Feta Tomate Gurken Zwiebeln und ohne Blattsalat☺️. Mein Oktopus war extrem weich und lecker, Tzatziki und frisches Baguette.... Was braucht der Gaumen mehr.... Ach so das Glas Rotwein hatte ich vergessen😉... Und der Service war auf Zack.

Wir waren eine Gruppe von vier Erwachsenen und zwei Kindern. Das Essen war griechische Küche in einer angemessenen Atmosphäre. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Griechische Speisen und Getränke erfreuen sich dabei besonderer Beliebtheit.

Das beste Bifteki, das ich bisher gegessen habe. Bei schönen Ambiente und sehr aufmerksamem Personal.

Der Laden ist auch nach einem Jahr Besuchspause, weiter einer der besten Griechen in der Stadt. Die Qualität des Essens ist nach wie vor top.

Kommen regelmäßig zu diesem Griechen. Leider schwankt in der letzten Zeit die Qualität des Essens zwischen drei und fünf Sternen. Gleiches gilt für den Service der nachgelassen hat. Die Preis sind deutlich erhöht worden, was wir durchaus nachvollziehen können; dafür erwarten wir dann aber gleichbleibend hohe Qualität. Der mit der Preiserhöhung wegrationalisierte Ouzo passt dann ins Bild...

Ultra lecker und immer ein bisschen wie ein Kurzurlaub - freuen uns jetzt schon auf einen nächsten Besuch

Sehr tolles Essen, Atmosphäre sehr laut wenn es voll ist. Da es immer voll ist weil es so lecker ist, ist es meistens laut im Restaurant. Draussen sitzen ist sehr zu empfehlen wenn das Wetter und die Saison es zulässt.

Ich liebe griechisches Essen. Ich war siebenmal in Griechenland und heute das erste Mal in Düsseldorf und dann im Pegasus. Das Souvlaki - ganz objektiv- war legendär!!! Das beste griechische Essen was ich je hatte. Im Ernst. Toll gewürzt. Zartes Hähnchenfleisch. Super Gemüse. Würde extra deswegen nach Düsseldorf kommen. Ein totales Highlight.

So soll echte griechische Küche sein! Absolut stimmig und empfehlenswert!

Taramas und Grillteller Pegasos waren erstklassig...

Ich war dort geschäftlich mit einer Gruppe von 40 Personen. Wir konnten à la carte dort essen. Es war zwar laut, und das Essen hat ein bißchen gedauert, aber bei einer so großen Gruppe nicht verwunderlich und nicht schlimm. Alles immer mit der Ruhe! Darf alles sein, schließlich sollte man die griechische Gelassenheit mitbringen, wenn man richtig griechisch essen gehen will. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und das Essen war sehr gut. Zudem bekam man griechische Speisen und Getränke, die nicht jedes Restaurant führt. Außer der Musik, die typisch touristisch war, konnte man sich wie in Griechenland fühlen. Ich empfehle diese Taverne sehr gerne weiter.

The food was really good, a bit pricey, but okay. The service was absolutely terrible (slow, forgetful, and irritable). Unusually for a bill of almost 100 euros, there was no ouzo... despite the tip. I've been going to Pegasos 2 to 4 times a year for 20 years, and it gets less friendly every year... at least the food has remained good and you don't have to make reservations anymore, who's surprised?

Small menu, good, authentic food. The waiter was having a bad day. It can happen, but it's a shame if you want to eat there that day.

I was in Chania last week and, as someone who had enjoyed Greek cuisine for 10 days prior, I was deeply disappointed. I can understand that the flavors might not match mainland Greece, that’s natural, but I couldn’t understand why the menu prices were 2-3 times higher than in the most touristic, seaside, and flavorful Greek restaurants. If the taste were on par or if, like in Greece, they offered complimentary ouzo after the meal despite lower prices, it would make sense, but that wasn’t the case here. Still, the staff were polite, and I don’t want to take that away from them.

We haven't been to Pegasos in a long time, got a nice table, and everything was beautifully set. Perfect conditions for a pleasant evening with good food. If it weren't for the subdued atmosphere that was palpable from the start. On a Wednesday evening on vacation, at other restaurants in what are now the higher price ranges (€20 for pasta with pesto!), I've seen tables with fewer people. We didn't see any of the staff I know, who greet you warmly and exude good cheer, some of them sick, perhaps on vacation. The food was solid, sea bream, to good octopus. The fact that the obligatory ouzo wasn't asked for at the end, besides the fact that when I paid €75, I was told "cash please" (previously, it was cash or card?), didn't leave a good impression. Unfortunately, this bad habit is becoming more and more common in restaurants, in an age when eating out has degenerated into a luxury, and I'm even offered to pay by card at a local restaurant. It's certainly a snapshot in time, and everyone deserves a second chance. We'll be surprised.

The food was okay, but the service was unfortunately very slow. I think there were simply too few staff. Unfortunately, as the number of guests increases, it gets incredibly loud in the large hall. You practically have to shout at each other to be heard.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal in der Taverne Pegasos und direkt begeistert. Keine 08/15-Gyrosküche, sondern echte, traditionelle Gerichte wie Moussaka, Keftedes oder gefüllte Weinblätter – alles hausgemacht, liebevoll gewürzt und schön angerichtet. Die Atmosphäre ist angenehm entspannt – ein bisschen wie bei Freunden zu Hause. Man merkt sofort, dass es ein inhabergeführter Familienbetrieb ist. Der Service war herzlich, aufmerksam und hat uns auf Wunsch auch ein paar Spezialitäten empfohlen, die nicht auf der Karte stehen. Besonders gut hat uns die Auswahl an Vorspeisen gefallen – da kann man sich wunderbar durchprobieren. Die Taverne liegt zentral in Bilk, direkt am Kirchplatz. Gefühlt viele Stammgäste, eine tolle atmosphäre, stilvolle Einrichtung und ein gutes Glas Hauswein runden den Abend perfekt ab.

My boyfriend and I came here three nights in a row after working a convention in Dusseldorf. The whole staff was amazing and the food was even more so. I couldn't recommend the place more and look forward to coming again next year!!

Very expensive, salad as dry as Sahra without dressing, you have to salt and season it yourself and the fish comes back to life because it swims in fat. Long waiting time, meatball is too dry. Not recommended.

wir kamen an einem Samstag Abend spontan zu sechst dorthin. Warten auf Karten 30 Minuten, warten aufs Essen weitere 75 Minuten. Das Essen war dann wirklich sehr lecker. Keine Entschuldigung für die lange Wartezeit!!!

Oh yeah. There are people who swear by the winged horse. We probably won't get any younger. But Greek cuisine tastes very good here in a relaxed atmosphere with pictures and photos on the walls. The service is attentive and quick. 📯

Super delicious food in a great atmosphere. The diverse menu shows what the cuisine in Greece has to offer! The house wine (red) and the friendly service make the evening perfect! If you still have room after the delicious starter plate and delicious main course, you should try the dessert - the cheesecake did the rest for us!

Pegasus is not just a restaurant, but a place where I feel at home. As soon as I enter I am warmly greeted by the always friendly and attentive staff. The service is first class - the entire team is attentive, polite and very welcoming. The owner also welcomes his guests with a smile, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. And the food? Simply perfect! The dishes of Greek cuisine here are at the highest level. The meze are fresh and full of flavor, the grilled lamb and fish are superbly prepared. You can immediately taste the quality and attention to detail. A visit to Pegasus is not just a meal, but a real culinary experience. Every time I leave the restaurant with a smile and look forward to my next visit. Absolutely recommended for all lovers of Greek cuisine!

Sehr schöne , gesellige Atmosphäre. Mit unter laut. Eben wie es sich für eine griechische Taverne gehört. Nettes , freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Fast schon familiär. Die Speisen bewegen sich jenseits von Fleischbergen ala "Aphrodite Teller" . Frischer Fisch hingegen gehört zu den Spezialitäten des Hauses. Besonders erwähnt seien hier die gebratenen Baby Calamaris . Seit mindestens 20 Jahren ein Grund für mich, den Weg nach Düsseldorf anzutreten. Unbedingt besuchen, wenn man in der Nähe ist. Besonders in Gruppen...... Reservierung würde ich empfehlen, da meist sehr gut besucht.

The room acoustics are not good. If all the tables are occupied, it is far too loud.

Best Greek in Düsseldorf - Top food of good quality and at fair prices. The waiters are friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the “typical welcome ouzo” is missing here, but otherwise everything is great.

The restaurateur seems annoyed to say the least, (at times even nervous) perhaps he would have preferred that we had chosen another place, the dishes were average for Greek cuisine, there is very little of a tavern considering that we paid a very high bill. Definitely the worst restaurant where I ate in Düsseldorf.

This used to be our go-to Greek next door, as there's almost always available tables, and it was an easy evening out. -- (very) steep price increase to a Bifteki of €25 aren't and still water for €8 leave it unbalanced as the atmosphere is rather family-friendly than upscale.

Good food and beautiful service

We've been going there for 30 years now, but this year for the first time. The prices are absolutely outrageous and the bread is charged at 2.50, which is really cheeky. Grill plates and starters are ok, but definitely too expensive!! We won't go there go out to eat more. Then I'll go to Amici instead!

We have known the Pegasus Tavern for over 35 years and always loved coming back to this place of worship! But last week the exorbitant prices blew us away! Tzatiki €7.50 and the bread basket is outrageously charged an additional €2.50! Attention people, the prices on the homepage are not current, add 3.00 euros to the main courses! In any case, we didn't feel full and left without an ouzo on the house and we'll never come back!

After Corona, the prices rose significantly, like all restaurants. However, the food used to be much better, especially the side dishes! I also find baked potatoes and peppers with bifteki not very Greek. 22 € for Bifteki !??? Well at least no fries with that. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is no longer right for me. The heaters were all off and it was far too cold in the rooms. Update: were there with several people. Everyone was disappointed. 75€ per person The Greeks already have an announcement. 25 € for souvlaki is actually a disgrace. Service isn't as good as it used to be either. Laden really has his best days behind him. It's not as well attended as it used to be. Who’s surprised…Retsina doesn’t get any better in wine glasses either.. just more expensive;)

Nach längerer Zeit habe ich mit einem Freund mal wieder das Pegasos besucht, aber kaum hatten wir die Speisekarte gesehen, traf uns der Schlag, denn solche Preise hatte wir bei einem Griechen bisher noch nicht gesehen. Das Essen war in Ordnung, aber rechtfertigte nicht diese Preise. Für den Brotkorb mit Tzatziki waren schon 10 € weg, der Espresso schlug mit 3,80 € zu Buche. Die Preise sind übrigens noch mal höher als auf der Website angegeben. Der Service fragte nicht einmal, ob wir noch etwas trinken wollten. Vielmehr musste ich wegen meiner Espresso-Bestellung noch mal nachfragen, obwohl es eher leer war. Ouzo auf's Haus? Fehlanzeige

After a really good octopus appetizer, the rest of the dinner was not up to par. The price of 60 euros per person therefore seemed excessive to us.

Leider kann ich den anderen Bewertungen nur zustimmen. Preis Leistung stimmen nicht mehr. Früher eins der besten Läden in Düsseldorf. Der Gastraum ist unverändert schön, Essen gut aber auch nicht super gut und dafür alle Preise für Vorspeisen, Hauptgerichte und Getränke deutlich überzogen. Hauptgerichte ca. 20-36€, ohne das es eine überdurchschnittliche Qualität hat. Wir haben viel Verständnis, das die Gastronomie mit gestiegenen Kosten zu kämpfen hat, aber hier ist der Sprung unverhältnismäßig. Schade, wir sind früher sehr gerne gerade mit Kinder und Freunden hier gewesen. In Zukunft wohl nicht mehr.

Very friendly service, good food but the prices are high.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio no longer fits. The prices seem to have been switched to the EM or tourists. All dishes are about 30-50% more expensive than a few months ago. Maybe, depending on the guest, the card is handed out, which consists of pages of paper stapled together? The bread is now charged extra and put on the table without asking and is made from the cheapest white bread. The food was ok as always, but we won't go there again for the reasons mentioned. What a shame!

Wir sind immer gerne gekommen, aber die aktuelle Speisekarte scheint auf Touristen Abzocke oder EM Preise umgestellt zu sein. Seltsam ist auch, dass die Karte aus zusammen gehefteten Seiten besteht. Die Gerichte kosten ca. 30-50% mehr als vor ein paar Monaten. Das Brot wird extra berechnet, und ungefragt mit auf den Tisch gestellt. Die Qualität vom Essen war ok, aber Preis- Leistung passt jetzt gar nicht mehr. Wir werden auf jeden Fall zukünftig woanders essen gehen.

For years it was a restaurant we enjoyed going to. Last time we came with City Scheck: unlike others, we didn't get bread or Uzo, let alone attentive service. It's a shame, but there are other good Greek restaurants too.

Really way too expensive now. So it's really absurdly too expensive. Prices have almost doubled! The staff is nice & really cool, but they have to operate a large store with two people. Food is okay. When the store is full, there is a good atmosphere but it is rarely as full as it used to be - you can hardly afford it anymore.

A Greek Tavern means superior taste as well as service and perfection A-Z. Not at the level of Estia or Toxotis. Average dishes to be so Arrogant. There is no sign to be a Greek Tavern. Strict hygenie problems waste of Money. A second time would be a mistake, thanks to see the real face at the welcome. The favorite one was closed today. No need a substitute.

Atmosphere is too depresive, food is nothing more than average. never ever I would list this place in the top Greek restaurants, there are much more better ones. All of them is 10 mins distance. You can skip this place and avoid internet review manipulation.

Yesterday we went to the Pegasus Tavern again - as we decided on our first visit. In keeping with Greek Easter, we ordered oven-baked kids on the recommendation of the waiter. The meat almost melted in your mouth! We only got it so tender and tasty in Greece itself. Kudos to the chef! As with our first visit, we are thrilled with the service and advice - always friendly and accommodating - always there if you need something or want to reorder. Finally, of course, the classic Ouzo 😃that gave the evening the right ending - thanks Nico!

The food was good. Greek cuisine, nothing unusual. Delicious, except for the prawns, which were soggy. In return, the friend received a glass of wine from the house. We had to call service several times each time. Well, the place was full, but that doesn't mean that the waiter didn't check to see if anything was missing. The restaurant is generally very loud. Due to construction. The seven of us won't go there again because it's simply not enough for the extremely high prices in every respect. All other Greeks get an ouzo after paying the bill (330 euros). Not here.

An authentic Greek restaurant in middle of Düsseldorf. Parking can be a problem as limited street parking. Atmosphere is buzzing. Service is wonderful. Plenty of drinks to choose from . Plenty of veg good, and their veg risotto was superb. Reservation is recommended in advance.

1.5 years ago I decided not to eat here anymore. Unfortunately I tried it again yesterday. I ordered prawns in white wine sauce with a side salad and got 4 king prawns on a mixed salad. My query as to whether this was correct was answered in the affirmative. The shrimp were disgusting because they were completely mushy inside. The salad was in a vinegar sauce, no trace of white wine. I told the waiter that too. Consolation prize: a glass of Retsina! I was completely ripped off. In general, the card is more run-of-the-mill, but overpriced. Every Greek chip shop has more choice. The ambience is, well, and the volume is enormous. The friendliness of my waiter yesterday left a lot to be desired.

A real Greek tragedy! We waited 1 hour for our order and 1 hour for our food to come! Starter and main dishes finally came..all together and everything was truly tasteless and extremely pricy ( 8 euro for a bottle of water and 21 for a small tasteless mussaka ) They fooled us with the wine, we asked the house wine and they served us a more expensive bottle of wine …and then they told us that the house wine was finish! But The most disgusting thing was the waiter’s manner that when we asked about our food in a polite way he answer super impolite “ I only have 2 hands” and everything we asked ( example yo split the bill ) he was snorting all the time! So if you wanna have a nice evening..please widely avoid this restaurant! The Greek people should be ashamed of it!

Too expensive and half as tasty.

Das Lokal ist sehr mediterran eingerichtet und gemütlich. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und die Speisen und Getränke schmecken super! Man sollte allerdings immer reservieren, da die Taverne immer gut gebucht ist. Im Sommer gibt es auch eine kleine Terrasse.
