Taverne am See in Olpe

The whole place is empty. Unfortunately, the only table with a lake view is occupied by the owner's laptop. Unfortunately there are only 2 types of tea and no cocoa... but canned cola for €3.30 for 0.33l. The music is difficult to bear. To get to the toilet (type: 70s outdoor pool), you get a key - like in a gas station - and have to walk around the whole building through the rain.

We were very satisfied! The people were friendly and the food was good. We found the prices reasonable. Everything has become more expensive. Everyone has to watch their backs.

This snack bar is in a great location and could be great with a little more effort. Unfortunately, for a taverna, there's no gyros and there's not much selection. The waitresses seemed to have their full attention on their cell phones. With a lot of luck, we found the menu outside the entrance. Self-service is generally perfectly fine; during our visit, three tables were occupied. It would have been an absolute bonus star if the food had been brought the two meters to the table, especially for older guests, instead of being preoccupied with their cell phones. The ambience was rather bleak, no music, nothing. However, the staff had a lot to laugh about at the table outside the entrance, although unfortunately, their priority was not with the guests. The food itself was okay, apart from the fact that it was a quick frozen schnitzel. That certain something, such as a salad garnish, was completely missing. For two schnitzels and two drinks, it was quite expensive; just under €40 for the simple snack food. It's a shame; with less effort, they would certainly have had many more satisfied guests!

You always have to form your own opinion. The reviews of the last few days/weeks haven't been that great. But unfortunately, everything is true. Tavern doesn't quite fit. More like a chip shop. But not a good chip shop. Self-service is okay, but why? The place is very, very small, and hardly anyone is there at this time of year. Maybe the lady at the counter will have to put her phone down and do something. That's not possible.... We ordered a Balkan-style schnitzel (gypsy schnitzel) with fries and a hollandaise schnitzel with fries. We would have liked to have a gyro at the tavern, but there wasn't one. We also ordered a Coke and a light beer. These things cost -WARNING- €38.40. That's quite a statement. The portions were okay. Taste-wise... Well, it's just a chip shop. The atmosphere isn't bad. If only they would take care of it. It's all a bit lackluster. My right arm kept sticking to the table... Is that just because the season is over? Everyone should form their own opinion. But I definitely don't recommend the tavern.

I recently visited the tavern and was unfortunately very disappointed. Upon entering the restaurant, the first impression was anything but inviting: The ambiance seemed unkempt and uninviting. An unpleasant mixture of odors hung in the air, which immediately dampened my appetite. The real disaster, however, began with the food. The dishes were obviously carelessly prepared and bore little resemblance to what was so promisingly described on the menu. My dish arrived lukewarm, the meat was tough, and the side dishes seemed to have lost their freshness long ago. The taste was also absolutely disappointing.

The lakeside tavern was a huge disappointment. While the view of the lake was nice, it didn't make up for the other shortcomings. The ambiance seemed dingy, and the tables were poorly maintained. The service was slow and unfriendly; we had to wait a long time for our order, and when the food finally arrived, it was cold and rather mediocre. The portions were small, and the prices were exorbitant for the quality of the food. The restrooms were also in poor condition. Overall, a frustrating experience that I can't recommend.

For us, an absolute no-go. Unfortunately, we can't really say anything about the food, as we decided not to eat here after our first and last visits. First, our children bought an ice cream. Price-wise, it was absolutely normal. The ice cream was expired and liquid inside. Since the children had bought the ice cream on their own, they didn't know what to do. We, the parents, then went over and wanted something to drink. Absolutely not. Self-service, OK, that's becoming more and more common. BUT: 1. No draft beer 2. Not even a Coke or shandy 3. No glasses, you have to drink everything from a bottle or can 4. Friendliness, well, maybe during peak hours? 5. Absolute lack of enthusiasm 6. Cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired Swallow droppings on the walls, overflowing trash cans even though there's nothing going on, the dog's water bowl is only reluctantly refilled because it was filled with dirt. 7. You're not allowed to use the dining room at all, at least not at the beginning of September. We were glad we'd brought enough food with us, as we don't usually take reviews seriously, but rather form our own opinions. Unfortunately, the negative ones are 100% accurate. What a shame for such a beautiful campsite. We still enjoyed our vacation.

Prices like in a big restaurant, despite it being self-service (chain-smoking owners sit bored at the cash register) and quality like at a snack bar.

Unfortunately, it wasn't good for me. Self-service, and you can't see the lake from the seats. Way too expensive; I paid €18.90 for a plate of keftedakia and a bratwurst without a bun.

Tavern is located directly at the campsite. Only opens at 4 p.m. You order at the counter, get the bell and then pick it up yourself. Price-performance doesn't fit - too expensive. For €5 more you get better food and much better service at the Seeterrassen in Sondern. But the food (fries and meat skewers) was ok. No side dishes. Staff had fun with themselves instead of taking care of the guests. Were only there once and wouldn't eat there again.

Very expensive for the quality that I can pick up here at the counter. I had a Jägerwurst with fries, which I brought back after the first few bites. When I said that it was inedible, I was told: “I think you can eat them”!!! Well then, enjoy your meal

Ate on site. Everything is self-service with a long line to order. My wife then paid €52.50 for 1 gypsy schnitzel and 1 grill plate (both no salad) and 2 wheat dishes. If only it had at least tasted good. Everything was comparable to a chip shop, but we didn't want that. Unfortunately, I have to say that people expect more from everything.

We were there today. The ambience is the best far away from the lake. The service amounts to 0 because it is self-service. Unfortunately, the quality of the food is poor because it is tasty, cheap frozen food. I would have hoped for much more from a 5 star campsite. Campsite really great “tavern” unfortunately underground.

The tavern is behind the reception on the way to the swimming lake. The food is good. You order at the counter and when it's ready you pick it up again. Unfortunately there is no service. Because of the adjacent lake, people are constantly walking past you. Unfortunately it's not really comfortable. One star deducted because of the prices. Way too expensive! A grill plate costs 19.50 euros.

No service. Long waiting time. High price. Plates heaped with dry spices. Never again, simply unbelievable

And it's like the last vacation, the Greek at the campsite 🏕️ The taste is average, but the service is non-existent. You order at the Tressen and you also pick it up yourself. The atmosphere is also more like a sports field because everyone walks past from the lake wanting to get to the space or parking lot. The price is very close to the pain threshold, especially for what you get. German-speaking staff are also a matter of luck. The operator is also responsible for the rolls. A disaster!!! In the afternoon between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. you have to order the rolls for the next morning. You can then pick them up at the mini market the next morning. When I asked if I couldn't order from the mini market first thing in the morning for the next morning, this would be Veneint Unfortunately, this young man also did not speak German. Either be there on time from excursions or live without a roll the next morning. It's a shame because it ruined an otherwise lovely vacation. Not recommended!!!

Friday evening. No pizza, no gyros, just fries for 6 euros. Thank goodness there is a good pizza delivery service in Rhode. 🍕

During previous stays at the Four Seasons campsite, I also enjoyed eating very well in the tavern. This time the tavern helped me out with beer garnishes for my birthday party. Very uncomplicated and extremely friendly. Many many thanks!!!

You should sit outside at 12°C, closed inside for whatever reason

Never again!!! Apart from the greeting "no service", we, 6 adults and 2 children, ordered our food and drinks at the same time. The drinks could be taken away for 4 people, but I had to wait almost 10 minutes for 4 more because other orders were only being accepted. The first two meals were ready for pick up relatively quickly, but for the last ones I had to ask three times and wait another 30 minutes. I don't think it needs to be mentioned that the first ones took a long time to complete. It's a shame, the location and the view would really be better here.

Food was good. There is no service. You order at the counter and pick it up yourself. We ordered several at the same time. Unfortunately, after asking several times, we received our food much later than the people who ordered after us. We wouldn't go there again...

Was disappointing. The great location on Biggesee and the external appearance promised a good restaurant experience. But disillusionment came quickly. The food wasn't even up to the standard of a chip shop. The simplest convenience food, carelessly packed on the plate. Rating “3” is actually too high. It's a shame, as guests at the nearby campsite we expected better.

More of a simple (and not even a good) "chip shop"; has nothing to do with a tavern. I can't recommend it.

It's at the level of a French fries shop, nothing more!

When I asked after half an hour how long the meal would last or whether we could get the salad plate, I heard a pretty stupid comment from the boss, that's not how you treat guests! But now about the food, I had a grill plate. The gyro was almost cold and the skewer was very dry. The taste was partly ok. What's not working is the prices! almost €18 for a gyro plate is just way too much for the quality!!! My grill plate cost €21.80 and my wife's Keftedakia plate cost €17.80. Given the combination of an unfriendly boss, high prices and poor quality, I personally won't eat here again and can only give one star.

The food is very very tasty. The staff is very friendly. We are there often and I can only say that it is simply very good there. Always fun. The live music there from time to time is also very good.

More canteen style, you order your food at the bar. What you get is good quality. Friendly, family run business. Tasty gyros 😋.

Sehr tolles Restaurant mit perfekter Aussicht auf die Pyramiden von Gizeh echt top Lage.

Die Gerichte sind leider sehr überteuert! 17€ für einen Gyros Teller ist einfach nicht gerechtfertigt. Qualität ist eher Dönerbude von nebenan, dazu noch Selbstbedienung und ein Pieper. Personal war bei uns ziemlich Unaufmerksam, dafür aber nett. Für den Preis hätte ich definitiv mehr erwartet!

Wir sind für ein paar Tage auf dem Campingplatz und am ersten Abend gehen wir immer Essen.... Ich kann so einige Rezensionen nicht nachvollziehen! Das Essen ist wirklich lecker, die Portionen groß. Und das Personal ist ohne Ausnahme freundlich und aufmerksam. Weil es heute sehr windig ist, sitzen wir drinnen. Es ist gemütlich. Klare Empfehlung!

Essen war ok aber nichts besonderes. Allerdings war der Preis besonders und das besonders hoch. Gyros mit pommes 18 € und dazu Selbstbedienung. Karte holen,bestellen, Tisch abräumen gehört für 18 € zu den Aufgaben der Gäste. Empfehlenswert ist übrigens das Wasser für 5,80 € 😉 Zur Freundlichkeit kann ich nichts sagen,da wir niemanden von den Mitarbeitern gesehen haben.

Nettes kleines Restaurant. Kleine Karte aber alles sehr gut zubereitet!

Wir haben während unserem Aufenthalt auf dem Campingplatz an drei aufeinanderfolgenden Abenden dort gegessen. Die Gerichte waren sehr schmackhaft, die Portionen sehr groß und das Personal stets freundlich und bemüht. Ja, es gibt hier Selbstbedienung. Aber so what: Es ist ein Campingplatz und wenn der Rest stimmt, dann nehme ich das gerne in Kauf. Oft wird hier der Begriff „Imbiss“ verwendet. Auch hier gilt für mich: Wenn die Qualität stimmt, dann gerne auch ein Imbiss-Restaurant. Ich habe damit kein Problem. Und wen der Begriff Taverne stört, mag woanders hingehen. Möglichkeiten gibt es rund um den Campingplatz genug.

Erst mal wird man nicht bedient, ok dann wird überhaupt nicht verstanden was man bestellen will. Dann muss man direkt zahlen und das nur mit Bahrgeld und das auch noch sehr teuer. Dann muss man sich das Essen selbst abholen und dann ist das Fleisch schon schwarz alt und kalt. Die Pommes waren ganz ok und der Salat auch. Und die Musik war viel zu laut und wurde jede 10 Sekunden geändert. Deswegen die zwei Sterne ⭐️. Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Recht schön gelegenes "Restaurant" mit viel Luft nach oben. Selbstbedienung ohne Aushang, Ambiente auch leider eher mittelmäßig. Getränke aus Plastikbechern (auch Wein). Wenn das Essen fertig ist, wird man mit einem nervenden Pieper zur Abholung gebeten. Nervend, weil im Minutentakt, Tisch für Tisch so ein Teil piept. Essen war geschmacklich gut und reichlich. Preise sind für die fehlende Bedienung und dem Pommesbuden-Ambiente leider etwas überteuert. Wahrscheinlich zahlt man wegen der guten Lage und der fehlenden Konkurrenz mehr. Wir würden unter den Bedingungen nicht noch einmal hingehen.

Essen geht, aber der Rest hat nix mit Taverne zu tun. Pommesbude triffts eher, Tische wischt keiner ab, Selbstbedienung

Wir haben sehr gut und lecker gegessen. Freundlicher Service und nicht überteuert.

Leckere Pommes, man kann gemütlich draußen sitzen

Wir wurden sehr freundlich und ohne lange Wartezeiten bedient, das Essen war lecker (Gyros genauso wie die Pizza). Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

Die Pommes waren toll, der Kaffee lecker und die Bedienung freundlich. Wir werden dort einmal richtig essengehen, dann bewerte ich nochmal neu. Die 5 Sterne könnten kommen...

Super Laden, tolle Bedienung und das beste Zaziki weit und breit. Wir essen jedes Wochenende dort!

Essen war gut, nur Getränke in der Flasche/Dose finde ich, geht nicht. Bei den Personenaufkommen was Täglich dort isst, kann man ruhig in Gläsern ausgeben! Oder es liegt an Corona 🤷‍♂️

Ich war überrascht das trotz der Leere in der Taverne der Grillteller ohne Pommes erstklassig war. Das Fleisch auf den Punkt kross,saftig und sehr lecker. Der Salat absolut frisch und knackig. Die Portion war reichlich und trotz Warmhaltebox noch fast heiß.
