This time we came here for breakfast 😊 They had a great selection, including vegetarian options 🫶 The atmosphere is simply unbeatable, stylish and modern. They also have coloring supplies and plenty of toys for the kids 😃 The server was still a bit sleepy 😉😊 Best regards to the team 👋😚

Cozy atmosphere... but... The food wasn't good... the fries were way too salty, the corn in the salad was bad, and the currywurst isn't what it used to be... I was very disappointed with the food... I was so looking forward to it... what a shame

We had a seat near the small play area. Unfortunately, there seems to be a major problem with fruit flies. They were everywhere, and this in October! You could barely enjoy your food and coffee because there were flies everywhere, and you were practically eating them. Another woman said the same problem was happening in the restrooms. I mean, it can happen that there are small flies, but nothing was done about it. When we informed the employee, we were just given an arrogant look and directed to another seat, where, unfortunately, the problem was not resolved. I've always enjoyed going to the Boathouse, but this time it was a total disappointment. Expensive food, poor ambiance at the time, and unfriendly staff. What a shame!

We've been to the Bootshaus four times now – and unfortunately, I've been disappointed every time. The ambiance is really nice and the location has so much potential, but the service is simply abysmal. Today we went there for breakfast. As a vegetarian, there's hardly any choice, many things aren't refilled, the tables remain untidy for a long time, and you have to wait forever for the cashier to check out. You have to ask for almost every other thing because nothing just happens automatically. In the end, I had some raw vegetables and tomato and mozzarella – that was about it. On my last visit, the waiters were sitting outside smoking while no one was looking after the guests. It's a real shame about this otherwise beautiful location – so much more could be done there.

I've rarely, if ever, eaten so badly...unfortunately, it was absolutely not worth the money! The atmosphere is really good, the staff friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the kitchen door was open, and several times you could see the chef wiping the sweat from his forehead with his hands and then, for example, touching a piece of meat...Enjoy your meal! Unfortunately, we won't be back.

Service was fast and friendly. The food was also very tasty, and the portions were reasonably priced. The interior was well-appointed, but the outdoor area is better and nicer.

I used to love going to the Bootshaus; the location and ambiance were great. These days, I have to say that the ambiance has deteriorated considerably. The redesign of the outdoor area is rather poor, and inside, they seem to be opting for plastic orchids instead. Okay, there's no accounting for taste, but what we were served for breakfast today was absolutely not okay. We were given stale rolls that had probably been reheated, given how dark they were by then. When we asked about it, we were told that they always had so much left over from the weekend and didn't want to throw anything away. The waitress, who was really friendly, also said that she was aware of the problem, was happy to pass it on, and understood it, but that nothing would change, as management wouldn't make any decisions. I'm all for sustainability and not wasting food unnecessarily, but then either the cost calculations need to be changed, or the guest needs to be informed in advance. You pay a lot of money for a breakfast like that these days, and I'd rather go somewhere else.

The boathouse is idyllically situated on a lake, and you can sit on the terrace with a pleasant view. The service seems disorganized and reactive. The restaurant seems to survive mainly on unskilled temporary staff. The prices on the menu suggest standard, hearty food, although they are higher than what you'd get at nearby restaurants. The menu items are more like snacks. A perfectly decent baked potato comes with a merely homeopathic small cup of salad. Absolutely disappointing, however, is the burger, which comes with an unidentifiable burger patty. It's hard to say if it was actually meat. The consistency and taste, however, were inadequate. When I asked the waitress if everything was okay, I expressed my displeasure. Unfortunately, despite not even having half the burger eaten, the kitchen felt the need to accommodate me. They offered only an ice cream as compensation. All in all, a nice place for a refreshing drink. For dining, however, I recommend going to nearby restaurants that offer more ambitious fare.

The food is delicious and the staff very friendly. The outdoor seating, right by the water, is especially lovely.

A beautiful restaurant right on Lake Bigge with a terrace and friendly, attentive service. The prices are reasonable and there's a nice selection of dishes. Vegetarians are also well catered for. We were here for our anniversary and really enjoyed it ❤️ We'd love to come back!

Great location, small but tasty vegan offerings, mini golf course could use a bit of maintenance

We had a very pleasant evening there. A warm welcome, very friendly service, and a beautiful spot with a view of the lake. The menu had a very good selection and the food was good.

Absolutely terrible customer service! Unfriendly and slow (after waiting 45 minutes for four drinks and asking three times for the bill, they demanded it and then tried to rip me off when I took the cashier). Unbelievable. That's never happened to me before. It's fine if something's forgotten, but their sneering and totally arrogant manner, and their deliberate stumbling twice, is the worst. No apology, nothing.

COME - ENJOY - COME AGAIN Everything was very well and excellently organized!!!! Anyone who eats out often will more than appreciate this restaurant.

The location is wonderful, the staff extremely friendly, and the view is lovely with a cool drink. Regarding the food, we can currently only rate the Bigge Krüstchen, which unfortunately is more like a children's plate. Otherwise, it's really nice for a day out. Maybe try some other dishes.

We arrived at 11:35 and were served at 11:40. They said breakfast is sometimes served until 11:30 and sometimes until 12:00. Also, there's a parking fee. So we drove there from Siegen for free and paid for the parking.

First, the good news: Great ambiance with a view of the Bigge River. Friendly and very attentive service. Now for the inconveniences: When ordering our drinks, the server told us that salmon and chicken were out. Okay...then we made our meal selections accordingly. However, when ordering our food, we were told that there were no baked potatoes and... no schnitzel today either!!! These items made up the majority of our selection. We were totally perplexed and chose again, with the result that everyone chose something they didn't originally want to eat. The food arrived relatively quickly, and the taste was okay, but the price/performance ratio is definitely not right. How can a restaurant like this miscalculate its purchasing so much? Unbelievable to us. They won't be seeing us again anytime soon!

We often go to the Bootshaus; the tarte flambée and waffles are really delicious, but this time we ordered an "Iced Chocolate Chip Latte." Unfortunately, you can't expect more than a latte with chocolate shavings on the bottom. It was quite disappointing. I think it's too much to pay €6.90 for that. Starbucks is more worthwhile, and above all, you get more there. Unfortunately, the service also seemed very unmotivated, but everyone has a bad day sometimes. So, as far as the food goes, the Bootshaus is good, but the drinks are less so.

We made a reservation for 12 people. When we arrived, no table was prepared. When we asked, we were told to put the tables together ourselves. Another waiter scolded us, saying we weren't allowed to do that and demanded we tell them who had allowed it. After he calmed down, we had to wait two hours for our food. When we asked, they just rolled their eyes in annoyance. The food was only lukewarm and of the quality you'd expect from a chip shop. Never again! We had dessert and more drinks across the street at Extrablatt. We received a friendly welcome there.

The waffle was delicious. The cake was already dried on the surface and looked and tasted like it came from the freezer. 🥴 Charged full price despite complaining. Service was okay.

I was there on Sunday for the breakfast buffet. Everything was delicious, hot and cold. They refilled empty plates. Water and juice are included. Coffee is extra. VERY friendly staff. Reasonable price. Parking is by the indoor pool and a short walk away. But you get a great view of the Bigge River.

We only had a drink. The atmosphere was nice. The very attentive and friendly staff were a bit overwhelmed.

We can't comment on the food. It was far too crowded. It was very loud, and waiting an hour for food was unacceptable, so we left. And the drinks and menu we ordered didn't arrive quickly enough (despite waiting and polite requests)... Perhaps they were understaffed?

I was there again. Ordering was quick. Unfortunately, the food took over 45 minutes to arrive... and it was cold, too. Unfortunately, the quality is steadily declining. A place like this doesn't deserve it. Too bad... they should reorganize it. The next visit was unfortunately very bad. Service was poor... wine was warm again... no cutlery... ashtray was full... unfortunately, I had to return the food once... inedible... lukewarm... too bad this lovely restaurant lacks consistency.

We were there for breakfast on Sunday, August 10, 2025. We waited almost 25 minutes for our drinks. The selection and quantity at the buffet was very limited, and it took a long time for them to refill. For the price, you'd expect something different.

Good iced tea and delicious schnitzels. A culinary highlight. It's not a large schnitzel, but I ate enough. We did get our food first, then our drinks, which is unprecedented in Europe. If I'm ever in the area, I would definitely eat there!

Here, guests are treated not only to convenience food, but also to the hopelessly overburdened service staff. One person for up to 25 tables – 15 of which are easily occupied – is simply too many. In professional establishments, they expect 10 tables per server. While I wait for my salad 🥗 Nizza – which I even had to order a second time – I wonder whether I shouldn't hijack a pedal boat 🚤 in the meantime and paddle to the Extrablatt on the other side of the river. But just at that moment, a 25-person wedding party 🥳 bursts in, supposedly with a reservation from the day before. The atmosphere at the bar briefly escalates as the chaos of plates, cups, and glasses grows. 😳🫣 I'm leaving – and divorcing this establishment. The burger 🍔, which I haven't been allowed to order here for the third time, is already waiting on the other side. We ate there on July 31, 2026. The service was very friendly and quick. The food was really not good, and therefore the prices were significantly too high. Ready-made salad mixes, probably not washed because they were dry on the plate, and the fries weren't cooked through. Charging almost €18 for a salad mix, a chicken breast fillet, a few cocktail tomatoes, slices of cucumber, two baguettes, and a slice of melon is pretty steep. The schnitzels didn't seem homemade either. Three meals took well under 10 minutes from ordering to service. The question is, does that speak for the quality? Overall, the food really wasn't good. A shame. By the way, it doesn't always make a good impression when some of the chefs sit around in front of the entrance in their work clothes, while some of the service staff or "acquaintances" sit at the first table directly behind the entrance. Somehow, that makes a negative impression, at least for us. Just a constructive criticism. We wish the restaurant all the best anyway!

Great, inviting location. The service was completely disorganized. Without any system or concept, everyone was running around the entire place. It took 17 minutes to place the order, another 15 minutes for the drinks, and another 35 minutes for the food. A dirty spoon was delivered. The waiter promised a new one but never came back. The second waitress took 8(!) minutes to do it. A real shame…

I was there today, and I've never had such a bad burger. My partner had a salad, and there was no dressing or salt or pepper on the table. The best part was the price; I'm truly at a loss for words.

Anyone who likes their food cold and much too late should definitely pay this place a visit! The lack of leniency with which you are dismissed after criticizing the service is also a nice change. My friend's food arrived over an hour after we ordered. In order to transform the schnitzel into a bite-sized, soft consistency, my meal was served another 30 minutes later. This increased the contrast between our constructed negative mood and the delicious, soggy, cold food, resulting in us being able to rate it as delicious... although a couple of cheeseburgers from the Golden M would have probably done the trick. The fact of these unfavorable wait times was communicated to the staff, but unfortunately, we couldn't expect a price reduction or a small espresso on the house. If you're wondering why we're giving this restaurant such a positive rating, we should answer your question by fearing that the negative reviews will be deleted from Google, as we can't otherwise explain its "popularity."

We had a lovely evening. The cheeseburger was particularly delicious, but our other meals were also completely worth the price. The setting was pleasant, and the food arrived quickly. We were very satisfied. Just a tip for the crew: please don't go from table to table with two plastic buckets to change cutlery. It's better to wait until the table is free.

The food was very bad. Everything came out of the deep fryer and was fried to death. The pork loin (€24), schnitzel (almost €20), and rösti were very bad. The salad was fresh. Some portions of fries were forgotten to be salted. The service was very slow. It's a shame... I'd only go there for a drink, because the seating is very nice.

I ordered a vegan chicken burger with truffle fries instead of regular fries. In the end, I was charged for a full portion of truffle fries, even though they simply left out the portion of fries that came with the dish. When I ordered, the waitress didn't indicate that I was paying for two dishes in full but only received one. When I complained, they simply said it couldn't be billed any other way. But I think there were other ways to compensate a guest for this. Unfortunately, nothing was done in this direction. They didn't even ask the restaurant if anything could be done. The entire charge was deducted from two people at our table.

A truly disappointing experience. We waited over two hours for our food. Despite repeated requests, the staff offered no reasonable explanation or apology. Instead, we were repeatedly fobbed off. After two hours without food, we finally left the restaurant hungry and annoyed. It was for an 80th birthday party. This is completely unacceptable. The organization and service seem nonexistent here. We definitely won't be back and can't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Unfortunately, very disappointing! Over 1.5 hours of waiting for our food, while guests who had ordered well after us received their food long before us, was hard to understand. The staff only came when we directly requested it, never once of their own accord. Our friendliness was met with eye rolls and incomprehension. We ordered a Greek tzatziki bowl with chicken and a Bigge crust – both arrived stone cold. To make matters worse, the bowl came vegetarian instead of chicken, and when we pointed it out, they simply asked if it should be "remade," accompanied by an annoyed look. The schnitzel also arrived without the mayo we ordered; not a word of apology, nor was there any additional mayo. We were consistently friendly and understanding, but we were still treated unfriendly. A certain amount of waiting is understandable – but not when other guests are served much faster and we are ignored. This is definitely not how a restaurant visit should go. Unfortunately, I don't recommend it. The price is definitely not worth it!

Wir hatten für 9 Personen weit im Voraus einen Tisch reserviert. Zunächst war der erste Eindruck des Restaurants bereits sehr unaufgeräumt. Es stapelte sich schon vor der Eingangstür Leergut und schmutziges Geschirr. Ebenfalls auf den ersten Tischen im Retaurant stapelte sich dreckiges Geschirr und Gläser sowie leere Flaschen. Nach der Bestellung des Essens haben wir 2,5 Stunden gewartet und auf mehrmaligen Nachfragen dann irgendwann die Nachricht bekommen, dass das Essen sicherlich noch eine halbe Stunde dauern würde. Daraufhin haben wir das Restaurant verlassen. Der Chef des Restaurants zeigte sich sehr unbeeindruckt von dieser Situation und rechnete stumpf die Getränke der Wartezeit ab. Wir werden sicherlich dieses Restaurant nie wieder besuchen. Und hoffen, dass es anderen Besuchern nicht auch passiert.

Wir haben über zwei Stunden auf unser Essen gewartet – obwohl wir einen Tisch reserviert hatten Trotz mehrfacher Nachfrage kam keine vernünftige Erklärung oder Entschuldigung vom Personal. Stattdessen wurden wir immer wieder vertröstet. Nach zwei Stunden ohne Essen haben wir schließlich das Restaurant hungrig und verärgert verlassen. So etwas ist völlig inakzeptabel. Organisation und Service scheinen hier nicht zu existieren. Wir kommen definitiv nicht wieder und können dieses Restaurant niemandem empfehle

Worst restaurant visit ever... We had reserved a table for nine people well in advance. Our first impression of the restaurant was very messy. Empty bottles and dirty dishes were already piled up in front of the entrance. Dirty dishes, glasses, and empty bottles were also piled up on the first few tables in the restaurant. After ordering our food, we waited for 2.5 hours and, after repeatedly asking, were told that the food would probably take another half hour. We then left the restaurant. The restaurant manager was very unimpressed by this situation and simply charged us for the drinks we had waited for. We will certainly never visit this restaurant again. And we hope the same doesn't happen to other visitors.

In short: By far the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Details: The start was disappointing: We had reserved a table for 9 people – but it was neither prepared nor set. Instead, they simply told us, "Just squeeze together where you want to sit." – maybe that's the concept, but it's rather inappropriate for a reservation. Our drink order was taken, and we asked for the menu. However, it didn't arrive until about 30 minutes later. We then ordered an appetizer and a main course. After repeated, polite inquiries, the appetizer wasn't served until around 9:00 PM – significantly too late. Before the appetizer was delivered, we politely asked for the main course to be brought directly, as it was already very late. At 9:30 PM, we were informed that the main course would take at least another 20 minutes. We then canceled the rest of our order and left the restaurant. Goodwill? None. There was no apology, no discount – we had to pay in full for everything we consumed. Positive points: The service itself was friendly and attentive. The employee couldn't help the situation and was visibly uncomfortable. For that, praise is due. Conclusion: Nice view, friendly service – but everything else was a disappointment. An experience we certainly won't repeat.

We went to the boathouse for breakfast. We chose the breakfast option for €12.99 per person. The service was super friendly and prompt. Unfortunately, the rolls were "warmed up" and a bit hard. I would have preferred rolls from the bakery.

We had to wait forever for service, or rather, service only arrived after we spoke to someone. Everyone in that area always had to wait a very long time. Complaints from the neighboring table were not responded to promptly. The food was quite good. The ambiance was very nice. Restrooms were clean. Unfortunately, the service and the long wait really spoiled it. Only one person was even able to serve us in a friendly manner. There's a play area for children both inside and outside.

The Bootshaus Biggesee is, as the name suggests, located directly on Lake Bigge. There's a large outdoor area and, for bad weather, a pleasant indoor area. The small menu offers many different dishes, so there should be something for everyone. The service was fast and attentive. The salad I ordered was delicious and worth the money, but could have used a little more dressing. All in all, a recommendation for Olpe, unless it's the hottest day of the year. 😉

I've always eaten a tarte flambée here after a walk around the Bigge River. It was delicious, the staff was quick, and the price was reasonable. The beautiful view of the lake was magical, and in the evenings, as the sun set, there was a tranquil atmosphere.

Wir wohnen in unmittelbarer Nähe und besuchen den Biergarten regelmäßig, perfekt gelegen um die Sonne bis zum Untergang zu genießen. Solide Küche, Empfehlenswert ist die Pinsa mit Landschinken. Service war trotz vollem Haus flott und sehr freundlich, auch die Zufriedenheit wurde abgefragt, alles gut. Fazit: Empfehlung!

This was our second time eating here; the atmosphere is nice and cozy by the water. That's about it for the good stuff. I ordered a steak listed at €35.90 (medium). I got a piece that was almost cooked through, weighing maybe 200g. We were a larger group, and I wasn't alone in my opinion about the size. The baked potato was good, but the dip was tasteless. Admittedly, it was busy that day, but the quality didn't match the price. They took my criticism on board, apologized, and that was it. The staff was friendly and ultimately couldn't help it. So I smiled away my annoyance, paid €80 for two people, and tipped. I won't be eating here again anytime soon. Mistakes can happen, but saying "I'm sorry" is often not enough. 🤷‍♂️

Mediocre food. Nothing here is noticeably homemade - the schnitzels aren't pounded by hand, and the sauces taste like they're a mix of spices. The side salad had far too little dressing - so we basically ate dry salad. Nevertheless, the food was generally tasty. The drinks were delicious, though - and the service was courteous and fast. The ambiance outside is lovely in the summer - right on the Bigge River. In the winter, however, everything inside feels a bit chilly and uninviting. A bit overpriced: schnitzels start at €17. Overall, it's solid - but it won't be my regular haunt.

We ate there today. I have to honestly say it was very crowded. But in a "restaurant," that shouldn't be a problem. The service was obviously very relaxed and didn't look stressful. I ordered the XXL currywurst and my wife a jacket potato with mushrooms. After an hour, I asked if the food had been forgotten 🙈 They said no and said they would check. And, oh wonder, the food arrived immediately. Unfortunately, the potato was swimming in the fat from the mushrooms, and the mayonnaise was warmer than the fries and the currywurst. It seemed to us as if the food had been forgotten in the kitchen, and it was noticed when we asked. Well, unfortunately, we can't recommend the restaurant. The only positive thing was the view from the terrace. Hopefully, the next person has better luck than us.

The view itself is very nice. However, the staff was rather lacking. My order (which was just a drink) was initially forgotten, so I pointed it out to the staff half an hour later. When my iced coffee arrived, it was already warm.

Nice location for a coffee or a bite to eat. Service is a bit slow on busy days, but otherwise, they're quick.

Auch eine Bedienung mit ganz wenig Erfahrung sollte bemerken, daß wenn 4 Erwachsene da sitzen, die nicht 3 Essen bestellen. Nun haben sie schon Tablets für die Bestelleingabe und man stellt beim Servieren fest, daß ein Essen fehlt. Das sollte nicht passieren, zumal höchstens 1/3 der Tische besetzt war. Die Qualität hat in letzter Zeit nachgelassen, während die Preise immer höher werden. Man will als Gast, der für 4 simple Essen (2 Burger, 1 Flammkuchen und 1 Krüstchen und je ein Getränk) 83 € dalassen muss, auch einen Gegenwert sehen.

Staff and atmosphere were excellent. Unfortunately, the food wasn't that good, almost cold. The schnitzel was too dark, and the salad needed more variety. Also, the salad doesn't belong on a side plate; it's better served separately.

A simply enchanting setting. Everything is just right. I'd be happy to come back anytime. It's ideal for people with disabilities; everything is on the ground floor. The staff is very friendly.
