Super delicious food, lots of vegan options and still delicious meat dishes. We really liked it, the service was very nice!

The food was delicious. And the prices are high, but still fair. The evening was accompanied by Greek music, as it should be. The service was great, very welcoming, as you would expect. You can't go wrong with a visit here. I know a few Greek restaurants and Taverna Athene is definitely one of the better ones. We we will come back.

Can I recommend this place? Yes, absolutely. The ambience takes a bit of getting used to, and the acoustics are difficult when the store is full because it's loud. A few ceiling sails might work. There were three of us here, we had 2 gyros, one with vegetables, one with rice noodles and a vegan grill plate, with eggplant salad (which was made much better with a few drops of olive oil) and grilled halloumi as a starter (unfortunately the first portion of halloumi was grilled well beyond the point of roasted flavors and was replaced without any problem). Everything was delicious, and unfortunately we couldn't fit any more dessert, we thought. But there was a little something from the house (partly because the food arrived at a very different time), a vegan yoghurt with a piece of caramelized orange peel, which we would have liked to have had a bowl full of. So incredibly tasty, many thanks to the really attentive service. Why very attentive? Both Greek mochas came with a biscuit containing gluten, and the nice gentleman from the service (possibly the boss) took the biscuit from the plate of the guest, who cannot tolerate gluten, shortly before serving. We asked when ordering because a guest cannot tolerate gluten. So far, only very few restaurants have been able to implement this information so well. Ευχαριστώ πολύ. We'll definitely be back to try the other dishes and we're looking forward to it...

The food was very tasty and the staff was really nice. We celebrated a birthday and everyone sang Happy Birthday. Anyone who has tried many Greek restaurants (or those who want to be) in Berlin will stay here. Apart from the absolutely delicious food with perfect seasoning, the service is actually at its positive limit. Unfortunately there was a bit of a lack of cleanliness (tablecloths, napkins, cutlery), but everything was sorted out upon request.

Large restaurant with many, many vegan options, very, very tasty: meze platter, fried pepperoni, gyros, souflaki, bifteki, country bread with confit garlic - all recommended! The tzatziki was super creamy and surprisingly light, not a garlic bomb. We only got a table without a reservation because we were there early, and it got really full after 6/6:30 p.m. Very friendly service too!

We visited Berlin for 3 nights in January (group of 4) and we went to this restaurant twice ! The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. I would highly recommended. The moussaka was divine and the atmosphere was brilliant! It was really busy on the two nights we attended. I would advise to book before going :)

What a treasure. Lovely people, good food and great opening hours. I came in at 11.15 pm and there was no trace of doubt whether they could still serve me something to eat. True hospitality.

Underground. We were there before a concert and asked if we could manage to eat in an hour. The meat was cold, dry and tzaziki quark with cucumber... really the worst Greek restaurant we've ever been to. Some of the waitresses were nice and it was definitely not on Valentine's Day but the Thursday evening before!

We ate here before a performance at the Tempodrom and chose the restaurant because of its proximity and good reviews. We were not disappointed and loved the food. From the friendly welcome, to the quick service, to the delicious food, everything was simply perfect. We'll be back and thank you very much :)

Another amazing experience at Taverna Athene! Last time, we tried the chef’s special, which was a mixed grill with lamb chops, lamb skewer, and another cut—all incredibly delicious! The sides were just as good, especially the crispy potatoes and the creamy tzatziki. We also had moussaka and a fresh salad with balsamic-mustard dressing, both fantastic. This time, we ordered Dolmadakia (Grape leaves with rice filling and homemade tzatziki),Arnisio souvlaki (a large tender lamb skewer, in our own marinade, served with fried handmade style garlic potatoes and Tzatziki) and Gyros (Pork from the rotisserie, with Tzatziki) with Greek-style potatoes. Everything was great again! The kebab (lamb skewer) last time had smaller, more tender pieces that melted in the mouth, while this time the cuts were bigger but still juicy and flavorful. They also serve a welcome shot of Ouzo Plomari, which is a nice touch. Even their house wine is pretty good! Definitely coming back!

I have now been to the personally and family-run restaurant for the umpteenth time, and my first experience was confirmed last time too. Friendly welcome, attentive service and excellent quality of food. The "classics" of Greek cuisine are presented and served here at a high level, whether bifteki, octopus, anchovies or lamb fillet. The portions are also generous and good. For me it's a "perennial favorite" in Kreuzberg.

The food was really very tasty, we had 2 mixed grill plates, the garlic potatoes were very good and the meat had a very good taste, it was typically Greek full and therefore a bit loud, I found that to be slightly annoying due to the small room, but not so much that I wouldn't come back. The hospitality was great, friendly, and requests were taken into account. If you are looking for a Greek restaurant at a completely reasonable price, I can recommend this one.

Very good food. The selection of vegetarian dishes is very large. The service is incredibly friendly and helpful. We now felt very comfortable and had a wonderfully delicious meal. I have to emphasize that we came spontaneously without a reservation. Absolutely recommended!

We had a very good meal here. My filo pastry pockets were super crispy and tender baked with a small extra bowl of creamy tzatziki. My souvlaki skewer was beautifully spicy, very tender and grilled to perfection with delicious roasted aromas. The baked garlic potatoes were delicious and tender and crispy. But you have to like garlic. Our waitress was in a good mood and was quick, so we only had to wait a short time. Everyone was happy and we would like to come back.

The ambience and service were very nice. I was hoping for more from the food. With the vegetarian Bifteki it feels as if two plant-based ready-made burger patties were grilled and then a touch of feta was smeared between them. Garlic potatoes were tasty but not enough garlic.

The three of us were there spontaneously on a Saturday evening and were kindly given a table. The price-performance ratio is very good and the food tasted really great. The staff was courteous, very nice and took the time to make individual recommendations even though it was busy. The day ticket is recommended. If you're slightly hungry, there's not only the option of fries, but also very tasty tiro crokets. We'd love to come back. Then make a reservation, which you should definitely have due to its popularity.

We went to this Greek restaurant as a group and it was an all around excellent experience! The service was extremely friendly, attentive and professional - we felt well looked after. The food was excellent: fresh, authentic and tasted at the highest level. We were particularly impressed by the variety of dishes and the quality of the ingredients. The ambience was also atmospheric and inviting, perfect for a sociable evening. The separate room was made for us. Price-performance ratio: absolutely fair. A really nice restaurant. Perfect for a casual company event with a larger group. I ordered Bifteki for €17.90 – super tasty, served with fries and tzatziki. The waiter was really friendly and took really good care of us. Finally, we got a glass of ouzo on the house – for digestion :)

I come from Karlsruhe and my husband planned a trip to Berlin for my birthday. The ambience was very romantic, historical and the food was really tasty, the service was very nice, friendly and accommodating. Really nice to have been here. We can only recommend it.

Unfortunately it wasn't my cup of tea, there was a lot of vegetarian food on the menu, which was unusual for me. Unfortunately, the quality and overall impression of the food didn't convince me.

We stopped by by chance and immediately felt very comfortable!!!! Great service and REALLY delicious food at very pleasant prices that are not typical of Berlin! Food - great! Service - top! Ouzo - one before and one after from the house - TOP! We'll come back next time we visit Berlin!

Informal and fun atmosphere for large groups

i love greek restaurants so i try them everywhere i am and this time it was very disappointing, the food was fast and cold, they didn’t even wait for us to finish the starters, they immediately brought the main dishes so that the food was cold and not so good. also the retsina wine was tasteless :-( the staff was loud and the atmosphere was very far from greece. the prices are really high for this food and service, if you desire a greek experience go somewhere else.
