Pikilia in Berlin

Horrible. Been here for the second time in the last few weeks. The first time, I waited over an hour for the food, but the second time, it was quick. It's generally crowded and loud – mass processing. The food was poorly presented, with gyros and bifteki simply served individually on the plate. Salad/fries were served separately, no tzatziki, no sauces. A mini portion (small bowl) of tzatziki cost €7.50. Finally, there was an item on the bill that I didn't order. I probably won't be coming back.

I was here for the first time today, but certainly not the last. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed such a fantastic appetizer platter in Berlin. All the ingredients were absolutely fantastic, as was their combination. Added to that, a gyro grilled to perfection and wonderfully spicy tzatziki—it couldn't be any tastier in Greece!!! It would have been great if they also offered Greek beer, but that doesn't detract from my fantastic experience here.

15 years later - the quality, service, and hospitality are still top-notch! I can truly recommend Pikilia without reservation. An absolute must-do when in Berlin! Special thanks also to Jiorgos' team, who, as always, fulfill all your wishes :)

Had a delicious steak there cooked to perfection and made just how I had asked for. Staff was super friendly and competent. The restaurant itself is very homey and traditionally decorated. The atmosphere is very welcoming. I recommend this restaurant for groups, families and couples or a business meeting.

During our spontaneous visit with six people, we received a very friendly welcome and were immediately assigned a table. The service was excellent, even with children. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. If the journey weren't so far, we would gladly return.

Perfect restaurant great service

We visited "Pikilia" last week and have to say, we highly recommend this lovingly run restaurant. The hosts know their business. We would be happy to return.

It used to be great here, but today😳 the shrink-wrapped menus are huge and ugly, the table is beautifully set, and that's it. Everything was presented carelessly. The question about fresh garlic🙄 we don't have any, so we don't have any fresh garlic. The waiter said that seriously😳🤣🤣 That's what you get at the Greek restaurant🙄 and bye.

I was in the restaurant a week ago and would like to emphasize the special service...food, atmosphere and ambience were excellent and I will definitely celebrate my birthday there and can only recommend it

Good quality of food and prices reasonable. Lively, fun atmosphere in a beautiful atmosphere inside and outside with a great terrace. Waiters sometimes a bit rude, but maybe a matter of taste. We always enjoy coming back.

Actually a great restaurant for eating outside. The table setting was olives and white bread with olive oil. I felt like gyros with fries, €17.50 wasn't exactly cheap, a salad came with it, but not a bit of tzatziki. I reordered it. Came as a starter for €7.50. Nep.

Unfortunately, the gyro was burned to the plate, which the waiter acknowledged with a shrug of his shoulders. The food is overpriced - just Grunewald.

The food was amazing, the most authentic Greek food I’ve had in Germany by far! It’s a little on the outskirts but definitely worth the trip! The atmosphere was great with lively Greek music and the staff was very attentive. We were personally greeted by the owner who was quite the character and so much fun to talk to. Definitely a must!

I recently visited the restaurant but wasn't convinced on all counts. Unfortunately, the salad was anything but fresh - it seemed dry and seemed to have been sitting for a long time. A piece of dried carrot that stuck to the plate was particularly unappetizing. The main course was also not convincing in terms of taste, as it was hardly seasoned and simply lacked a certain oomph. In addition, the side dish was so small in relation to the rest of the dish that it didn't really seem balanced. However, I have to highlight the service positively. The waiters were extremely friendly, attentive and really tried to ensure the guests had a pleasant stay. Unfortunately, the ambience spoiled the overall impression somewhat, as the tables were extremely close to each other. This means that you inevitably hear all the conversations of the surrounding guests, which limits the comfort and privacy. Overall, the visit was pleasant thanks to the great service, but unfortunately the food didn't convince me. If more emphasis was placed on freshness, seasoning and a more balanced portion ratio, the restaurant could certainly leave a better impression.

We've eaten here many times and usually had a very good time. The food is great and you get really full for the price. However, it's always a bit of a gamble when it comes to service. Most evenings it was great, but the last time we felt very uncomfortable because we had the feeling that we were being dismissed. In addition, instead of gyros with tzatziki, I only got the grill plate. This in itself wasn't a big problem and was quickly corrected. However, in the end the grill plate, which was €6 more expensive, was on the bill. When I asked, they said it couldn't be changed and in that case it would be ok if I didn't tip. Which gave us a bit of the impression that we were being ripped off, especially since I hadn't planned to give a €6 tip because the waiter barely looked at us. It is still a service money and not a given. I think we won't be stopping by anymore, which I think is a real shame.

As always it was a pleasure to eat at Pikilia. For me, and I am a fussy Greek, probably one of the best Greek restaurants in Berlin. Giorgos and his team manage to keep ,since many years now, high quality and original Greek recipes as cooked at home with a touch of refinement. I can only recommend !

There were two of us there and we sat outside. In winter there are patio heaters and of course a tarpaulin. That was all ok, but not particularly comfortable. As the tables filled up, it became so loud that people had to shout at each other. I was hoarse. We sat for 20 minutes before someone gave us the card when we asked. Service staff seemed annoyed. Food was ok, but not amazing. I've eaten better at a Greek restaurant. But very expensive. I had a farmer's salad and personally there were too many dried herbs on it but not enough dressing. Has after nothing tasted. Bland cucumbers, bland tomatoes, not enough feta. The soup was good, but very straightforward. Wine spritzer was good Probably wouldn't go back again anytime soon.

Lamb chops in particular are highly recommended 👌

That was ......disappointing. Nice atmosphere, the side salad was good. The rest really unacceptable. My Pikilia Skaras, a typical Greek meat plate, lukewarm, the meat completely dry and there was something missing on the plate...No tzatziki that ALWAYS goes with it... Must be ordered separately for a whopping 7.50 euros... Our friends ate gyros, same situation, lukewarm meat, nothing else on the plate. Where do the good reviews come from?

Alles einfach toll: ruhige, angenehme und familiäre Atmosphäre, super Service, leckeres Essen...immer wieder toll! Eine Symphonie der Seele und des Gaumens!

Das Pikilia ist äußerst beliebt, daher fast immer voll. Es geht zu wie im Taubenschlag, der Geräuschpegel ist entsprechend. Trotzdem wird es gemütlich, wenn man mal an seinem Platz sitzt (Reservierung empfohlen!). Gute Küche, besonders die wirklich traditionell griechischen Gericht wie geschmorte Lammhaxe, die superzart und schmackhaft ist. Kalt-warme Vorspeisenplatte ("pikilia") ist sehr gut und sehr variiert. Das Gyros ist aus gutem saftigen Schweinenacken, mit angemessenem Fettgehalt. Leider ist es so gut wie nicht gewürzt. Daher leisten wir uns, wenn wir das dort essen wollen, den Frevel, dass wir unseren eigenen Streuer mit Ostmann-Griechenlandgewürz mitbringen. Bitte verzeiht uns das, liebes Pikilia! Sehr gut: die Baby-Calamari und die hausgeschnitzten dicken Pommes. Das Personal ist sehr effizient, gut organisiert aber bisweilen -kommt auf den Kellner an und auch darauf, ob man schon seit Generationen dorthin geht oder nicht- manchmal etwas überheblich und zwar aufmerksam aber nicht immer herzlich. Wartezeiten gibt es dort, aber das liegt sicher an der Küche, die zur Rush Hour (19-21 Uhr) den Ansturm an Gästen erst nach und nach versorgen kann.

Best Greek in the city and the surrounding area - very, very tasty dishes... my personal highlight: lamb fillet with the homemade brown sauce!!!! The boss Georgios is always close to the customers and available for a little chat. He also selects the always very good wines! Respect!...a great restaurant with a great boss and his great team!!!! Update 10/24: consistent high quality, very good red wines, very good food, delicious dessert...we really enjoy visiting friends there!!!!!

Greek restaurant in the tranquil Schlachtensee with a very large outdoor terrace. Tzatziki and taramas were tasty, lamb fillet was good, unfortunately the spinach and red wine sauce were not convincing. Service was attentive and humorous.

By far the best Greek in Berlin and Brandenburg - we have been regular guests here for 25 years - any questions? 😉

Whenever I'm in Berlin for several days, I try to go to Steglitz-Zehlendorf to enjoy the Mediterranean cuisine at Pikilia. Even though it is a Greek restaurant with many employees from Greece, the guest should not expect the typical Greek cuisine like in a run-of-the-mill restaurant. The kitchen team conjures up the finest, fresh Mediterranean dishes, whether fish, meat or vegetarian. A weekly changing special menu, which sometimes features a kid at Easter, rounds off the normal menu. Of course, guests here also get the typical gyros, nice and crispy yet juicy, with homemade tzatziki. The beef fillet or the US spareribs from the weekly menu are extremely tender and delicious. The homemade coleslaw is a poem. In addition to the food, the selection of tasty and high-quality wines must be highlighted. No matter whether white or red wine, the selection is large and, above all, high quality. The team consists of many authentic Greeks, some of whom have been working in this restaurant for many years and make it like a second living room for the guests. Always friendly, with a nice saying and, above all, trained professionals who can also suggest the right wine for your meal. This must be due to the boss, who walks diligently through the restaurant in the evening, stopping at many tables and having a chat. Everyone knows each other - many regular guests from near and far appreciate the cuisine and everything surrounding it. All in all, for me one of the top addresses in Berlin.

Immer wenn ich mehrere Tage in Berlin bin, versuche ich, nach Steglitz-Zehlendorf zu fahren, um die mediterrane Küche im Pikilia zu genießen. Auch wenn es sich um ein griechisches Restaurant mit vielen Mitarbeitern aus Griechenland handelt, darf der Gast hier nicht die typische griechische Küche wie in einem 0815-Restaurant erwarten. Feinste, frische mediterrane Speisen, ob Fisch, Fleisch oder vegetarisch, zaubert das Küchenteam auf die Teller. Eine wöchentlich wechselnde Aktionskarte, auf der sich zu Ostern auch mal ein Zicklein wiederfindet, rundet die normale Speisekarte ab. Natürlich bekommt der Gast hier auch das typische Gyros, schön kross und dennoch saftig, an hausgemachtem Tzatziki. Das Rinderfilet oder die US-Spareribs von der Wochenkarte sind extrem zart und lecker. Der selbstgemachte Krautsalat ist ein Gedicht. Neben den Speisen muss aber vor allem die Auswahl an geschmackvollen und hochwertigen Weinen hervorgehoben werden. Egal ob Weiß- oder Rotwein, die Auswahl ist groß und vor allem hochwertig. Das Team besteht aus vielen authentischen Griechen, die teilweise seit vielen Jahren in diesem Restaurant arbeiten und es für die Gäste wie zum zweiten Wohnzimmer machen. Immer freundlich, mit einem netten Spruch auf Lager und vor allem gelernte Fachkräfte, die einem auch den passenden Wein zum Essen vorschlagen können. Das muss an dem Chef liegen, der abends emsig durch das Restaurant schreitet, an vielen Tischen stehen bleibt und ein Schwätzchen hält. Man kennt sich – viele Stammgäste von nah und fern schätzen die Kulinarik und auch alles drumherum. Alles in allem für mich eine der Topadressen in Berlin.

Ein Kleinod mitten in Berlin-Nicolassee Juli 2024 • Es war ein kulinarisches Erlebnis der griechischen Küche, fernab vom normalo Griechen! Die unterschiedlichen Geschmackserlebnisse waren wirklich zauberhaft. Wir haben jeden einzelnen Gang genossen, desweiteren gibt es eine selten gesehene top Weinauswahl. Toller Abend bei tollen Gastgebern Plus ein Spitzen Preis/Leistungs Verhältnis!!

Exceptional Greek restaurant! July 2024 A gem in the middle of Berlin-Nicolassee July 2024 • It was a culinary experience of Greek cuisine, far away from the normal Greek! The different taste experiences were truly magical. We enjoyed every single course, and there is also a rarely seen top wine selection. Great evening with great hosts plus a great price/performance ratio!!

We go there almost every week and always receive a warm welcome, excellent food and excellent service. For me one of the top places to go for restaurants in Berlin. Thank you and keep it up dear team, you are great!

Unfortunately I can't share the good reviews regarding the food. The vegetarian pie was mainly fatty with few vegetables, a few dry lettuce leaves on the side and the dip would have benefited from a little more fresh mint. Unfortunately the quality did not correspond to the price. It's actually a shame, because the atmosphere is really nice.

We love going there: very friendly and delicious Greek cuisine

I can't understand the many positive reviews. The ambience is really good, the outdoor area is stylish and elegantly designed. There were six of us, we had four different dishes and no one was happy with the food. The grill plate was very dry, chanterelles tasteless and the octopus was oily. At least the prices were high... What disappointed us most, however, was the service. The service wasn't necessarily unfriendly, but it gave the impression of being slightly annoyed. Things were constantly forgotten (without apology), empty starter plates were only cleared away after we had pointed them out, and much more. So overall a pretty disappointing experience. In any case, we won't be coming back.
