Long drink 10 euros! Prices greatly increased! We were shocked when we were in Aunt Maja for the first time since the renovation. The main thing that was “renovated” was the prices. A simple vodka soda (“Skinny B.”) costs 10 euros! This is simply vodka with sparkling water. Other long drinks are also extremely expensive. And the food too! Almost all dishes have increased significantly in price, this also applies to special days, such as Pasta Day. Despite all the understanding we have for the difficult situation facing restaurateurs, our conclusion is: Disproportionate price increases! What a shame! :-(

The beer was cold and the service was nice and good. We sat outside right in front of the old well.

Lovely dinner! You have to book the restaurant in advance otherwise it’s fully booked if you want to walk in on Saturdays. We had special dish (tagliata) and fish soup, both are very tasty! Service is fast, price is reasonable. Seats were a bit squeezed and the indoor temperature was high. But acceptable since I can imagine everyone wants to have dinner in this nice restaurant.

This is where I went for lunch. It seems like it's one of the best restaurants in town, so all but a few tables were reserved. The food was plentiful and delicious, and the employees were all very friendly! Because it is located in the square, it is a great place to have a meal while looking around.

Small, rustic restaurant on two floors in the center of Saarbrücken. Very friendly service, very good food. Had the pork cheeks with beer sauce, "Hoorige" (kind of dumpling) and vegetables (daily menu) - I can highly recommend it.

If you want to eat traditional german food so that's the right place to be 🙂

We were here at Easter and everything was great😍 Just as great this time. Just please, use different cheese for the spaghetti 😉 Every member of staff is courteous and extremely nice, even when the restaurant is full. We'd love to come back💖

We have been there several times with a larger group and everyone was satisfied. Very tasty, fresh food, good portions and very good taste.

Great food, good ambiance and very nice staff. Highly recommended. Just book earlier, as tables are limited. Small comment for improvement, if the seats can be brought closer, people would be able to speak quieter and hear each other better. (Facing 2 seats tables are 1.2 meters long.)

Very good food. We've eaten here a few times. Even with a larger group, around 15 people. Everything went well and tasted good.

I was there with my family for dinner on December 25th. The ambience, the service and also the food were good. Unfortunately, all but one of us had food poisoning afterwards. This was a very bad experience and I absolutely cannot recommend it when it comes to pasta, especially for the price.

A good restaurant with a great ambience. There were four of us, we had 4 different dishes and we were all more than satisfied. The service was also very friendly. Tables should definitely be booked, but it is only possible every 2 hours, which is more than enough. Gladly again.

Super delicious food! The prices aren't exactly low, but the portions are reasonable. The service was very hardworking and attentive, there is nothing to complain about here. All in all, a really satisfying visit! What you could complain about (but that's complaining at a high level): the tables are quite close together. But that's because of the building and so you might be able to talk to others.

A bit disappointed, the price performance is not right. Small Jägerschnitzel, 3-4 mushrooms in the sauce, a few fries, no salad, not very lovingly served. Too bad.

I visited the restaurant on the first weekend of Advent. It was very busy because of the Christmas market. We had reserved and were able to sit in the very cozy room on the first floor. The service was very friendly and professional. We ordered from the seasonal menu. The food was very good and was served quickly. The prices were also acceptable. We will definitely come back.

On Saturday morning, watching the market from the second floor, we were able to enjoy a varied and delicious breakfast. The lady from the service was cooperative, structured, courteous and quick. The price-performance ratio is reasonable. The toilets are also on the 2nd floor.

It's been a long time since I've had such a delicious rump steak. The creation with sheep's cheese crust and baldamico sauce was completely to my taste. The waitresses were all very friendly and attentive. You can have a good time here in a cozy atmosphere. It makes sense to reserve in advance, otherwise there could be waiting times. The next day I had the Mexico salad. Extremely tasty and plentiful, I couldn't finish it all.

Essen: Das Essen war sehr gut, sowohl Fleisch als auch die Vegetarischen Gerichte sind sehr lecker Ambiente: Innen hat man ein schönes, gemütliches, rustikales Ambiente. Außen sitzt man mittem im Trubel des St.Johanner Marktes, was durchaus seinen Charme hat. Service: Trotz starken Besuche wurden wir relativ schnell bedient und das Essen kam sehr schnell Preis: Es ist nicht günstig, sondern eher gehobene Preisklasse.

If you value good and friendly service, this is the place for you. The prices are absolutely reasonable for the portion sizes and above all: IT TASTES! If you like to watch people strolling in the summer (or with a thick jacket in the cooler seasons), the outdoor area is the perfect place to sit and you can see the entire St. Johann market. I always like to come back and recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience!

Completely overpriced. The 200g schnitzels come for €20 without additional salad and are absolutely average (e.g. with the cream sauce). There is also a small amount of bland garnish. It's actually great for drinking there.

I had lunch at Maya's today. I just have to say a lot of praise now. The staff is just delightful and so friendly. My meal, salmon with potatoes and spinach salad, was a poem. The ambience of the store is warm and cozy. Thanks to all of you for this wonderful lunch.

But the toilet leaves so much to be desired

Die Qualität der Speisen war ungenügend. Das Rahmschnitzel (Fertigschnitzel frittiert) war trocken und die Soße leicht säuerlich. Das Wiener Schnitzel war ebenfalls trocken und zäh. Der Feldsalat in der Joghurtsoße ertrunken. Zum Speck im Salat: Wer sucht der findet. Bei zurückgebenen fast vollen Tellern interessierte man sich auch nicht dafür ob es geschmeckt hat. Fazit: Wir werden keine Wiederholungstäter

Schlechter Empfang, Personal nicht Kinderfreundlich, aber das schlimmste war noch, als ich meine Rechnung gefragt habe, gerade nachdem ich bezahlt hatte. Sie konnten es mir nicht geben, da es nicht mehr in der Kasse war. Ist das überhaupt möglich und legal ? Auf einmal war das Team ziemlich aggressiv. :(

We spent 10 days in Saarbrücken to get to know the Saarland, the French and Luxembourg surrounding areas. We visited this restaurant three times in 10 days. ... I think that says it all. We would like to have a restaurant like this in Schwerin / Mecklenburg. It was a culinary tour.

Just bad. Apart from the location and the nice places in the sun, the restaurant has nothing to offer. 20€ for a frozen schnitzel with ready-made Maggi mushroom sauce. €7.50 for a water - as if you were in a high-class restaurant. You probably only pay because you can sit in the city center. When asked for feedback, the response was unprofessional and embarrassingly rejected. Never again!

We discovered the restaurant by chance and luckily got a seat outside. The food was good and the service was friendly.

Sharif saved my evening! On a beautiful summer evening when I wanted to enjoy the last rays of sunshine, I treated myself to a glass of rosé at Tante Maja. After a sip I realized that the wine unfortunately contained too much acid for me. It gives me heartburn. I told the waiter this immediately. He contacted the shift manager about this and offered me to make a spritzer with either sparkling water or Sprite out of the wine. That wasn't a solution for me because it ultimately doesn't take the acid out of the wine. I was disappointed that I wasn't treated with more understanding and wanted to pay and leave. I would never have gone to this restaurant again. The other waiter, Sharif, noticed this and said he couldn't let it go. I told him he couldn't help it. I wanted to go. He said he would find a solution. I didn't want it to be at his expense. Finally, Sharif brought me the other rosé to try. I didn't like this one. I told Sharif that he was really an excellent waiter because he responded to my requests without any ifs or buts. And when I go out to eat or drink something, I expect the “experience” to be good all around. But Sharif didn't give up! He asked me what drink he could bring me. All's well that ends well. I found a very fine Pinot Gris and enjoyed the best service ever and the good atmosphere. Thank you, Sharif! You saved my evening and I'll be happy to come back to Aunt Maja's when you're there :-)

We ate here based on the many good comments. However, upon arrival the service was very unfriendly! Disinterested, curt, grumpy. We thought he was having a bad day, but his colleague was the same!!! To top it all off, we saw that the waiter was drinking quite a bit. As a result, he became less and less sharp (dropped glass and kicked a chair to get it behind the table). ). Food was decent, but it took almost an hour to be served. We are normally not complainers, but this experience was really too bizarre not to write a review.

Today I was at the Tante Maja restaurant in Saarbrücken and enjoyed the schnitzel day. Each schnitzel was available for €16.60, which is a great deal. The schnitzels were excellently prepared, juicy and well seasoned. The homemade iced teas are also particularly delicious and offer a refreshing complement to the meal. The service was friendly and attentive, the atmosphere cozy and inviting. You immediately feel comfortable and in good hands. Children's portions are prepared upon request and every request is treated with great care. We had, among other things, cream schnitzel with fries, spaghetti Bolognese in a children's portion and the homemade style schnitzel. The breading was perfect, the fries were delicious and crispy. A big plus point for the freshness of the food: the schnitzels are only beaten and breaded when ordered. The restaurant offers a nice selection of dishes, all freshly prepared with love. A visit to Aunt Maja's is definitely worth it, especially on schnitzel day!

Maybe this time I would be unlucky and the chef would have a bad day. For me, it's no longer my favorite restaurant at St. Johanner Markt
