Naturfreundehaus Kirschheck in Saarbrücken

The outdoor area (beer garden) is good. Unfortunately Paulaner is at Biergarzen and we got Karlsberg. The staff and owner are unfriendly and seem haphazard. Prices OK.

After a beautiful autumn hike, we had dinner here with our dog. Great atmosphere and very nice staff. The portions were very large and the prices were absolutely justified. We'd love to come by again.

I would like to use this method to thank the people who found my lost cell phone on October 26th. 2024 in Friedwald, unfortunately I was in a hectic time because of my two children, otherwise I would have shown my gratitude on site. Thank you very much again 💗

Very nice garden (you can't write the first part of the word that starts with B) with many hiking trails nearby. Rich offerings on the menu. I I ate schnitzel, fries, salad (which was very generous and with a delicious dressing) - although the schnitzel came from the deep fryer and was a maximum of 5 mm thick, everything else was breading. It's better to charge a euro more and offer better quality. The service was good. We will still come back and I just don't eat schnitzel. Beautiful bxxx garden!

Very nice place to start and end a hike in the Urwald. Friendly welcome. Good little dishes. Served all day from 10:30 a.m. Very fair prices.

We wanted to eat a piece of cake and drink coffee. Since no one was queuing outside and we wanted to look at the cake, we went in to order. After a long wait, we were told in a mushy tone that we had to order outside and that everyone else had their turn before us. We then left. It's a shame, we always enjoy coming here.

Self-service restaurant. You can sit outside or inside, order at the counter and then take the food to the table. There is German cuisine, and vegetarian dishes are also on the menu. The food was delicious. The selection of cakes is very large!

We cycled to the Friedwald again and stopped at the Nature Friends House with Nico and the friendly team. As always, the food was delicious, the garden was a delight. Always happy 😁

Simple “forest inn” located in the middle of the forest. Self-service and ordering at the counter. The food is good and the price-performance ratio is right. Only the atmosphere inside and outside is a bit old-fashioned, but it has the advantage that you are welcome even with dirty clothes and dogs.

Cozy place close to nature, but also easy to reach by car. Both shady and sunny places and interior in the rain. Top!

Restaurant located in the forest. This is self-service. Simply order food in the restaurant, then you receive a numbered ticket and wait outside at the table. A digital display with sound illuminates when the food of the respective number is ready. The food is served outside under the signage served. Very generous portion. So if you have a big appetite, you will be satisfied here. Tastes excellent. Bon appetit.

Nice beer garden with rustic but tasty German cuisine. Always worth a visit in the warm season to relax in nature just outside the city.

I wouldn't have expected that! We stopped here to take a break on our hike through the forest near Saarbrücken. It's self-service, but we didn't mind. Shady seating in the beer garden. The food was simply amazing. Large portions, very tasty prepared. Absolute recommendation, even for more than just a hiking break!

Essen ist gut. Nur beim Bezahlen muss man aufpassen! Unbedingt Kassenbon aushändigen lassen Preise werden nicht wie auf der Speisekarte berechnet, wird mehr abgezogen, bei mir war das so! Auch sind die Preise etwas hoch bei Selbstbedienung. In anderen Naturfreundehäuser im Saarland und in der Pfalz sind die Preise für Speisen und Getränke billiger. Ein 0,4 l saure Riesling Weinschorle für 7,80 € ist der absolute Hammer. Im Pfälzer Land rund um Dahn – Annweiler bekommen sie dafür 1 l. Die Dame am Tresen könnte könnte freundlicher sein. Freundlichkeit ist dort nicht angesagt. Wir gehen nicht mehr dorthin!!!

Food is good. You just have to be careful when paying! Be sure to have your receipt handed over Prices are not calculated as on the menu, more is deducted, that was the case for me! The prices are also a bit high for self-service. In other Naturefriends houses in Saarland and the Palatinate the prices for food and drinks are cheaper. A 0.4 liter sour Riesling wine spritzer for €7.80 is absolutely amazing. In the Palatinate region around Dahn – Annweiler you get 1 l for this. The lady at the counter could be friendlier. Friendliness is not the order of the day there. We don't go there anymore!!!

Full five stars. Food was very tasty, great network of trails for hiking nearby. Includes a dog bar with water bowls. Really great❤️ I would love to come back, I felt very comfortable.

Very nicely located in the forest with lots of tables and benches, there is also a small playground. The salad with turkey strips was huge and very tasty, I was pleasantly surprised. You had to pick up your own food and drinks, so a star deduction for the service, but that was completely fine.

Card payment only from 10 euros. You will receive this information after you have ordered. With 2 beers for a total of 8.80 there is no way to pay without cash. You get bullied by the staff and the boss. Even the offer to pay 10 euros cannot be implemented because the staff is unable to put an additional 1.20 euros into the till. The boss just bleats around and when you point out that there is no information about 10 euro card payments. Apparently there is no need for it here.

It is a nature lovers' house on the edge of the forest, beautifully located, good food, great cake buffet, but prices are a bit high, a bit expensive for nature lovers.

Nature friends house with self-service. The food was ready quickly, and the number display lets you know when your order is ready to be picked up. It was hot and delicious. And big portions. In our opinion, absolutely worth the money. Cake and coffee were ok too. Overall nice after a hike or visit to the neighboring Friedwald.

I've been here for ages, I have to say, it's beautifully located in the forest, with a small playground for children. So if you sit outside you can relax here. There are many different seating options with or without sun protection, and there are also plenty of seat cushions. You have to place your order inside and pay immediately. You get the drinks straight away and you get a voucher for the food. When it's ready, the number appears on the outside of the house and you then go to pick it up there. You can also leave the dirty dishes there later. That's fine for a nature friend's house, but that's why I only give it 3 stars for the service. The food tastes good, but it's nothing special. My Jägerschnitzel was huge, breaded, but unfortunately over-fried, therefore a bit dry and too thick, and the sauce that came with it was really very stiff and stuck to the meat and wasn't tasty. The salad that came with it was okay, but quite bland. My colleagues also enjoyed it so far. The cream schnitzel was the same as mine. But the mock sirloin steak was great. The prices are okay.

Nature friends house right next to the jungle and Friedwald. Large beer garden that is really beautiful and invites you to linger. Of course, you can't expect a luxurious ambience from a nature friend's house. The furnishings are harmonious and you can also stop off as a hiker. Cake selection and taste was really very good. The menu also sounds tempting. Unfortunately, I have to mention the friendliness of the staff as a negative point. I expect a business to be polite towards customers.

After several visits for a funeral service and a visit to the Friedwald, I unfortunately have to let go of the Easter Sunday visit because I find the staff totally unfriendly and always in a bad mood. You don't feel welcome at all. No smile, no friendliness, totally annoyed that they have to work on weekends and public holidays. But the food and cake are really very good. Prices are ok too

Wir waren zum ersten mal in diesem Lokal. Die Getränke musste mal selbst am Tresen abholen. (SELBSTBEDIENUNG). Obwohl jeder Tisch besetzt war, fand ich das Essen unterdurchschnittlich. Meine Schweinefilet mit Schupfnudeln waren mit einen Senfsoße regelrecht zugekleistert. Die Preise sind auch für eine Waldschenke übererdig. Zumal man am Tisch nicht bedient wird. Die Toiletteanlagen sind nicht gerade einladend. Alt und verschlissen und nicht gerade sauber. Da gibt es wesentlich bessere Lokale in Saarbrücken mit weitaus bessere Küche und gleichen Preisen und Bedienung am Tisch. Die Entscheidung, das die Preise wegen der Mehrwertsteuer erhöht werden mussten, kann ich bei dem Niveau unerklärlich. Vielleicht sollte man einen Koch einstellen und keinen Essenzubereiter.

A nice older stop option discovered today. Beer garden outside, cultivated atmosphere inside. Here there is something for everyone, from coffee and cake to a menu for large and small appetites. There is only self-service, friendly staff are of course on site. There are good parking options and there is also a generous watering station for dogs. We will definitely visit the beer garden too. Nice rustic location, a bit old, but still nice. Nice with children, as there is a playground adjacent and it is in the middle of the forest. There are various home-style dishes, coffee and cake.

Dass das Saarland völlig überzogene Weinschorle-Preise ausruft, haben wir schon oft erfahren müssen. Bei unserem gestrigen Besuch im NATURFREUNDEHAUS (!) mit Selbstbedienung hat es mir allerdings die Schuhe ausgezogen. Für zwei 0,4 L Weinschorle - für deren Mischungsverhältnis man in der Vorderpfalz übelste Beschimpfungen zu ertragen hätte - zahlten wir sage und schreibe 15,10€. Die Rechnung habe ich verlangt, da mir das sonst niemand glauben würde. Erster und ganz sicher letzter Besuch!

This place is a gem hidden in the woods if you want to relax calm down enjoy nice food you have to go. We went as a group and enjoyed it, the food was not for 5 stars but for 10, the service was impeccable and with a lot of smiles. I have no words to say about the atmosphere, it was something else warm and pleasant. Only HEIDI was missing 😋😋😋😋 we will definitely visit you again 😋😋

We ate there with 4 people, the quality of the food was below average and too expensive, we waited forever after complaining, the waiter became miserable, the food came too late and wasn't good, never again, thank you very much

Nice to stop after a hike with self-service.

Food is simple but tasty and at good prices. Salad is highly recommended, very good (mustard-based) dressing. It is self-service, but a server is always present to take orders at the counter. Rustic atmosphere, nice warm wood stove in rainy weather. Older but spacious and clean toilet.

Immer wieder schön im Wald hier bei uns im Saarland. Ganz im Wald gelegen, anfahrbar u Parkplätze.. Küche u Karte für jeden etwas.. toller Küchen !!! Unbedingt wandern u einkehren..Hundewassrrtöpfe ausreichend vorhanden ;-))

Für mich der beste Biergarten im Raum Saarbrücken. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen im Saarbrücker Urwald. Gemütliches Einkehren, Selbstbedienung und gutbürgerliches, leckeres Essen zu einem fairen Preis. Auch Hunde sind gerne gesehen. Hier kann man Verweilen.

Sehr schön im Wald gelegen mit einem schönen Biergarten mit viel Schattenplätze. Ein Spielplatz gibt es und eine Grillhütte die man anmieten kann. Leider Selbstbedienung. Preislich ehr günstig

Auf unsere Wanderung kamen wir hier vorbei. Ein sehr schöner Biergarten, wo man gut essen und trinken kann. Für die kleinen Gäste gibt es einen Spielplatz.

Rast gemacht auf halbem Weg der Urwaldtour. Kann man nur empfehlen. Kuchen war sehr lecker.

Wir wanderten den Urwaldweg und haben dort einen Kaffee im Aussenbereich getrunken. Der Toilettengang wurde verwehrt, weil kein Impfausweis vorgelegt wurde. Wir waren nicht das erste Mal dort, aber sicher das letzte Mal, auch nach der Pandemie.

Einfache Gaststätte mit viele Außenplätzen, Kinderspielplatz, Grillplatz etc. Nettes Personal, einfach und schmackhafte Gerichte. Ungezwungene Atmosphäre. Hunde erlaubt.

Der Weg zum Restaurant ist ein ganz Schlechter für Menschen im Rollstuhl. Eine gepflasterte Straße täte Not. Wenigstens ein Behinderten-Parkplatz wäre auch nicht schlecht. Im Restaurant war Selbstbedienung angesagt, was auch nicht gerade für Barrierefreiheit spricht. Mein Mann musste also immer 2x mehr laufen, wenn wir beide etwas essen wollten. Dafür war das Essen nicht schlecht für ein Naturfreundehaus. Wir aßen beide vegetarisch. Mein Gatte hatte Bratkartoffeln mit 2 Spiegeleiern und Salat und ich genoss Pasta mit Pesto arabiata und Parmesan. Das Essen war lecker und preiswert.
