Very tasty food and friendly service. However, it would be nice if, when glasses are empty, they asked if you'd like more. Then the restaurant would earn more, and tips would be higher.

TanTamar has been one of our favorite restaurants for over ten years. Whenever we're in Kiel, a visit is a must. The selection is diverse, and the spiciness of most dishes can be adjusted to your liking. My wife loves the TanTamar duck or enjoys trying one of the curries. Vegetarians also have a wide selection, and the menu is very flexible: I've been a fan of the spicy jungle curry with tofu for some time now (it's not even on the menu in this combination). The service has never been anything to complain about. We love Thai cuisine – and TanTamar is our undisputed number one in this regard. Absolutely recommend it!

We can't agree with the negative review. The price/performance ratio is justified these days, when everything is getting more expensive. We received excellent service from start to finish. We were warned about the spice level right from the starter, which might spoil the meal for some who don't like spicy food. Even special requests for the main course were no problem (the breaded chicken is highly recommended and arguably the best in Kiel). Due to the very generous portions, there was no room for dessert, and we look forward to our next visit.

Today was our first time at TanTamar. Great location and impeccable service. Many thanks to the staff. Great job. For our main course, we had the TanTamar duck. It was incredibly delicious and the portion was filling. We're definitely planning on returning.

Yesterday we returned to TanTamar after a long time away. The time in the convertible barrel was truly wonderful. We had a wonderful time chatting in a small group. The food came quickly and was delicious. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. All our wishes were fulfilled, thank you! We have never been disappointed here at TanTamar. We warmly recommend it!

We booked TanTamar for a corporate event with about 45 people and opted for a buffet. It was simply fantastically delicious; all the dishes were freshly prepared in authentic Thai style by Thai chefs, who were also briefly introduced throughout the evening. For me, TanTamar is one of the best Thai restaurants in the north! 👍

Owner-managed with a great Thai kitchen team whose passion you can taste in the dishes. Great service with a good eye for the essentials. This restaurant will continue to develop and bring a lot to the table for us guests. I'll let myself be surprised on my next visit.

Hatten heute Ente Tantamar und gebratene Nudeln mit Ente. Was soll ich sagen, essen ok, mehr aber auch nicht. Preise zu teuer für das was geboten wird. Sauce wie Wasser, Schärfe hätte ich gern gehabt, nix. Also fürn Imbiss zu teuer und wenn ich asiatisch essen möchte das falsche Restaurant. Schade, war mal besser!

We visited TanTamar for the first time today. What can I say? The service was absolutely fantastic. The waitress explained each dish to us, including the spiciness level, etc. The ambiance is fantastic, and the food was excellent, both starters and main courses. Thank you very much. We'll be back!

The food was very good. It was excellent. But the service was terribly slow. There were two of us, and we waited 45 minutes for our dishes after ordering.

We had an excellent meal this evening. When I lived in the neighborhood, I went there more often, of course. The prices are quite high for Thai food, but the portions are large and the quality is consistently excellent. Often, the service is a bit slow (because it's usually very busy), but tonight it was fast and extremely pleasant and friendly. I'd go back anytime. The panang curry is particularly delicious. The homemade spring rolls are also great.

Efter en god spadseretur ud af holtenauer strasse fandt vi frem til Tan Tamar. Thailandsk køkken som holder hvad de lover og holder sig til det de er gode til. Reserver gerne bord i forvejen da det er et lille hyggeligt sted. De retter vi fik var lækre og velsmagende. Kødstrimlerne utrolig møre og grøntsagerne sprøde men tilberedte. Meget velafstemte. i styrke og smage. Vi fik en forårsruller til at starte med. De unge piger i lokalet gør et godt stykke arbejde i at guide gæsterne og svare på spørgsmål om fx styrke Lokalerne er små, men alt er lækkert. Der er en god akkustikregulering så der kan hygges ved bordene. Det er lækkert. Altid et plus i min bog. Hermed min anbefaling af Tan Tamar som har en masse gode ting kørende for sig.

We were very satisfied with the food here. But unfortunately we have the feeling that we have to deduct two stars because of the overwhelmed kitchen and the not always good service. Why? So, like I said, the food was great. But the cocktails we ordered took forever and only came after the appetizer. Strange for us. We would have actually liked to drink the cocktails at the beginning. In addition, we found the cocktails, at around ten euros, much too expensive, because there were two very large pieces of ice floating in the glasses that were not full, so that the price-performance ratio of the cocktails was completely overpriced. Unfortunately, our two main courses didn't come at the same time; the rice for the first dish only came several minutes later with the second dish. It's a shame when one person already has their food in front of them and still has to wait for the other person's dish. A deadly sin in the restaurant. In the end we were very disappointed that there was actually no dessert left to order at 9:30 p.m. Yes, it's on the homepage, but we weren't informed on site that the kitchen closes at 9 p.m. On a Friday evening??? It's a shame, a sweet dessert would have rounded off the good meal wonderfully, but in the end there was still another disappointment. So, the food was first class, but unfortunately only three stars overall because of the overly expensive cocktails, the overwhelmed service and the unsatisfactory organization in the kitchen.

Actually a good restaurant, nice ambience, food also top. Unfortunately the service is getting worse and worse. Ordered food, asked after 45 minutes... we were told the order had been lost - the waitress knew but wouldn't have told us on her own. In the end we waited about 75 minutes. As I said, the food was great, but a bit too expensive for the size. No accommodations, such as drinks on the house, which is what you expect from a good restaurant and is actually a given. For me it's still the best Thai restaurant in Kiel in terms of taste :)

Actually quite nice. The food was really delicious. I was really disappointed with the service. The young women were nice but totally inattentive. We were not greeted upon arrival and were not offered a seat. So we stood in the room for a while, as ordered and not picked up. When asked, the answer was “just sit down somewhere”. The service took quite a long time and drinks came with the food. We only received cutlery and napkins when we asked. The fact that it wasn't busy and the prices went up quite a bit spoiled our experience.

The Tom Ka soup and the cheeseballs were excellent and the Thai dishes (be careful, spicy!) were very tasty and authentic. The service was very friendly and quick. TanTamar is highly recommended if you fancy Asian food and want to experience a much better taste than the delivery service.

Despite the store being full, the staff found the opportunity to spontaneously offer me and my mother a table. We were treated courteously and unobtrusively. The service could hardly be better. If I had a restaurant, I would have my staff trained at TanTamar. The main courses were really delicious and the quantity was absolutely okay for the price. The drinks were also freshly tapped and/or poured. Only the starter was a bit off. Spring rolls like you've eaten them a thousand times before. Unfortunately, rather boring. The atmosphere was restless and if you sit outside there is Holtenauerstrasse. Nevertheless, the staff keeps an overview and ensures that no wish remains unfulfilled. We will come back and recommend.

We haven't eaten so well in a long time. We went there quite spontaneously. We didn't have a reservation. We were allowed to stay. Everything was so good. We were advised and everything was excellent. The service lives from conviction. We give it 5 stars and can only recommend it.

zuallererst mulsche w. Bedienung. Das Curry-Gericht war sowas von scharf und als solches nicht so gekennzeichnet wie andere Gerichte, die mit scharf kenntlich gemacht wurden. Mir kamen die Tränen, also Vorsicht. Beschwerde bei der Bedienung, Ja ist klar, bla bla. Andere Gäste bekamen einen Schnaps zum Schluss. Zum bezahlen kam der m. Kollege: An wen darf ich mich wenden. Oh Man!? Schade um das teure Geld. Zum Ambiente muss ich sagen Ungemütlich.

Authentische Thailändische Küche der extra Klasse, super höffliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Preis Leistung ist super und alle Fragen zu den Gerichten die man nicht kennt wurden sehr gut erklärt. Immer wieder gerne und sehr empfehlenswert.

Unfortunately the food was only lukewarm, the fish plate was over-spiced with pepperoni and if it looks like that on the table after it's been cleared away (until the end) that's not good.

Can be done, does not have to be. The food was good, service was very attentive. Unfortunately, the location is very loud so that you almost have to shout at the person sitting next to you. I don't think it's appropriate to charge 1 euro extra for a cardboard doggy pack.

Die frühere Professionalität des Personals sucht man vergebens, dies geht leider mit einer exorbitanten Preiserhöhung einher, die weit entfernt von der notwendigen- aufgrund der MwSt Anpassung- liegt. Für die nicht heiße Ente wurden nach ca. 1 Jahr 30% mehr verlangt.

Gutes Essen, guter Service, schönes Ambiente

Mir persönlich hat es nicht allzu gut geschmeckt. Ente war sehr trocken, fast zäh. Die gebratenen Nudeln haben mir nicht geschmeckt. Mag an der Sojasoße gelegen haben. Mit Sate Soße war es OK. Da es Recht hochpreisig ist, habe ich geschmacklich mehr erwartet. Service war gut und nett.

Wir kommen regelmäßig,aus Lüneburg für,zweidrei Tage nach Kiel und freuen uns jedes Mal schon, einmal mittags dort zu essen. Sehr lecker, Portionsgröße genau richtig, Räumlichkeiten eher klein und intim, Stammpersonal, alles super. Im Sommer trotz Holtenauer nettes Draußensitzen.

We ordered the red curry and the duck. Little pricey for every week dinner I’d say. Place is not incredibly fancy but it is cosy and nice.

Hier gibt es ganz hervorragendes thailändisches Essen, welches von einem durchweg netten Team serviert wird.

Eigentlich ist das Tantamar seit über 10 Jahren mein Lieblingsrestaurant in Kiel. Leider hat es ein wenig an Charme verloren, seit das neue Personal da ist. Das Personal ist zwar freundlich, ist aber extrem langsam.

Das Essen war sehr gut. Und ein sehr guter Service.

Kleines und beliebtes Restaurant, Reservierung daher empfohlen. Die Speisen sind authentisch und Extrawünsche bzgl. Schärfe oder Zutaten werden problemlos umgesetzt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Das Ambiente ist gemütlich, es wird aber relativ schnell laut, da das Restaurant relativ klein ist.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und das Kellnerteam war sehr zuvorkommend. Einer der jungen Kellner war lustig und hat uns sehr angenehm bedient. Ich komme wieder

Kleines, nettes Restaurant mit leckeren Speisen. Der Service erfragt den Schärfegrad der gewünschten Gerichte. Speisen sind sehr lecker und die Portionen ausreichend. Wie in vielen Restaurants gibt's auch hier im Service fast ausschließlich studenditsche Aushilfen. Der übliche Fachkräftemangel. Ist halt anderes und uns hat es nicht gestört. Punktabzug gibt's für laute Radiomusik. Da könnte man was passenderes laufen lassen. Auch ein Tisch im Eingangsbereich ist nicht so schön, da ein kommen und gehen (Lieferservice oder Selbstabholer). Trotzdem definitiv eine Weiterempfehlung.

Sehr gutes Essen und toller Service

Wir hatten vorher reserviert und haben eine schönen Tisch bekommen. Die Auswahl an Gerichten fiel uns merklich schwer, sodass der Service uns eine recht ausführliche Beratung gegeben hat. Die Speisen waren alle sehr lecker und das Fleisch z.B. krosse Ente, von sehr guter Qualität. Insofern waren wir bzgl. Service und Essen bestens zufrieden. Einzig das Ambiente im Raum hat noch Potential bei der Gemütlichkeit.

Hannover gegen Kiel spielte an dem Abend. Weit und breit kein Parkplatz. Wir mussten in der Wik parken. Obwohl wir angerufen haben, dass wir uns verspäten, wurden wir bei der Ankunft richtig angemacht. Wir fanden es auch nicht witzig, schliesslich waren wir durch Kiel gehetzt. Uns wurde mitgeteilt, dass unser Tisch ab 19.30 reserviert ist. Wir sollten uns beeilen. Die Karte ist umfangreich aber wir haben schnell ausgesucht. Habe einen Algensalat und die misosuppe ausgesucht. Die Suppe gab es nicht und ich war so vom Personal unter Druck, dass ich mich entschieden habe nur den Salat zu nehmen. Die Getränke wurden tropfend auf dem Tisch teilweise über dem Tresen rüber auf dem Tisch "serviert". Um 19.30 waren keine neue Gäste angekommen und es waren noch 4 andere Tische frei. Wir waren aber bedient. Den Abend haben wir weiter im oblomow verbracht, wo ich dann endlich was essen könnte. Ein absoluter Kontrastprogramm zum Medea gegenüber, obwohl beide Restaurants die gleiche Leitung haben. Für uns leider nie nie wieder!!!!!
