We stopped at Donautal West while traveling with our family and were pleasantly surprised. The rest area is clean, tidy, and offers plenty of space – even for larger family cars or camper vans. The restrooms were in good condition and cleaned regularly. We particularly enjoyed the quiet, green surroundings. Our children were able to get some exercise after the car ride, and there's even a small patch of grass where you can have a picnic or take a break. The proximity to the Danube River gives the whole place a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. All in all, a family-friendly rest area that's not only functional but also pleasantly quiet. We would stop here again anytime!

We didn't visit the rest stop. What annoyed us was that it's an Asfinag dealer, but they couldn't sell us a GoBox because there wasn't an employee there who knew how to use it.

Hello, I drive to this rest stop a few times a year to buy the necessary vignettes, and I have to say, "hats off!" Where previously there were only irritated staff and dirty restrooms and outdoor areas, the last few times I've been there, I've only been served very friendly at the gas station. Afterwards, I got a currywurst with fries for €6.99 (I think that's super cheap for a rest stop). As I said, a real change from the old days. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures. A pleasant break with friendly service The Donautal West rest area offers everything you could wish for for a short stopover. The staff was very friendly and immediately made a positive impression. You can tell that customer service is a top priority here. The cleanliness was also impressive – the restrooms were in perfect condition, and the rest of the area also appeared well-maintained. Today I found the toilets completely filthy. It's just disgusting.

Only 2 of the 4 men's restrooms were in use, and their condition was not very inviting. The staff member's response was a shrug. Sanifair is simply a disgrace.

A good large, bright and quiet parking lot for showers: 5 euros and another euro to enter through the turnstile on Monday at 20:00 there were still places. There is nowhere to get water, there is a large Vodokanal nearby, you can walk, a beautiful view.

Everything is good inside, delicious cappucino. Interior looks good. Toilets fresh. The outdoor terrace could use an update, the windshield frames are almost rotten and the chairs could also use replacing.

It surprises me that the Germans are sheepishly rude and won't let you know where and how until loading.

An older but well-maintained facility, with a cool food concept. (Which I think is due to the chain itself). Definitely, by far one of the friendliest teams I have experienced in Germany so far. The service was impeccable. Here the guest goes an extra mile.

We were here for a vignette and toilet use. The toilets were only clean because of self-cleaning. Everything else left something to be desired. The Toi trash can without a lid was completely overfilled and the toilet paper roll was empty. The Sanifer lady stood at the entrance and controlled the entrance ladies on the right men on the left through the turnstile. We had to pay €1.00 for this unclean use of the toilet, with the same nationalities being allowed in through the emergency exit. When I said that there was no toilet paper in the first toilet on the right, I got the answer: I don't understand! The toilet attendant should do more of her actual work and not use the emergency exit as an entrance.

It was already THE SECOND TIME that the Sani(un)fair turnstile box "happily" accepted my euro, but did NOT issue a voucher. Next time I'll unscrew the toilet and sell it on eBay... <---THAT was sometime in June 2024 Update December 16, 2024: A receipt came out today, AND 4 more were on top! We refueled on November 6th. at Terminal 11. At the checkout I said it was the 11th terminal. I fed it into the computer and said I could touch the card. First of all, no star, unfortunately you can't get 0 points without tapping the star. Be careful of the gas station, I bought an electronic 10-day vignette for Austria and Slovenia there on August 23rd, 2024. I probably received mail from ASINFAG by registered mail while I was away on vacation. Since I wasn't at home, mail was logically not accepted. This week information from ASINFAG, as I have not paid the replacement toll of 120 euros, forwarded to the responsible authority STM BH Liezen Austria regarding administrative criminal proceedings, no address so wait. Of course, there is no contact details in the cover letter from ASINFAG to clarify the matter. Since I have a receipt with employee names, I hope it is enough to clarify. Either incompetence on the part of the gas station employees or a scam to collect additional money or whatever.
