Takoyaki Teppachi in Düsseldorf

Stopped here for Japan Day. The takoyaki are incredibly good and absolutely authentic. They're freshly made and incredibly delicious. We'll be back soon and try the rest of the menu!

- Takoyaki was very hot, fresh, and delicious - A few were very mushy (I don't know if that's intentional) - The kaarage was one of the best I've ever eaten - Service was also excellent - We only ordered to-go, so unfortunately, we can't comment on the inside.

Wow—those were the best takoyaki I've ever eaten! Super juicy, perfectly seasoned, and full of flavor. You can simply taste the real passion and craftsmanship that went into this. If you're in Düsseldorf and love takoyaki (or want to try it), you have to stop by!

I was really looking forward to takoyaki – a dish you don't find very often in Germany and something I miss from Japan. But what was served was a disappointment: The batter wasn't crispy on the outside, but rather soft and sloppy, which robbed the dish of any interesting texture. Especially considering the price, it wasn't worth it for me. Maybe it was an outlier, but I had hoped for much more.

Absolute recommendation! We were there on Monday lunchtime. The employees were all so nice, the food came to the table quickly, fresh and hot. Reordering is then done via a website. We drank Kiwi Calpico, which I thought was delicious! The original karaage tasted best. Thank you!

Fantastic food, highly recommended! Incredibly delicious food here! The choice is enormous and everything we tried tasted perfect. You can look into the kitchen and see that everything is freshly and carefully prepared to order, which makes it extra special. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and both the portions and the decor are excellent. A really nice place to sit and enjoy good food. The only downside: the extraction does not seem to work optimally, causing your clothes to smell like cooking odor afterwards. But to be honest, we like to take that for granted, because the quality of the food makes up for everything. We will definitely come back here again, it was truly a great experience!

Learned to love takoyaki in Osaka. Found this shop here and I really have to say that these are the best takoyaki you can get here. I've had worse food in Osaka myself. Top shop!

This is one of the cooler to go street food orders I’ve had in a while! Absolutely authentic with a great vibe, beautiful decor and laidback, but efficient and friendly employees and food packed to the brim with great love and flavors. We ordered their croissant tayaki with bean paste which felt both fresh and of high quality and good ingredients. Super tasteful and fun to eat. Their veggie tuna onigiri was also a great purchase and perfect snack on the go. A must visit while in Düsseldorf if one is on the hunt for snacks and street foods!

Spending the Easter weekend in Düsseldorf in Little Japan, wandered the city and needed refuelling. Walking along Immermannstrasse, I saw a huge queue outside one of the Japanese street food restaurants. When there is a queue outside, it’s usually a sign of something good to come. Originally, I joined the queue for the takeaway hatch. Then I noticed that there was actually some space to dine indoors after a couple of groups left. The welcome was warm and I was quickly sat down with a selection of menus. Unfortunately, there are no menus in English…. but I speak a little German and I have google translate on my camera. When you are seated, after a quick intro to the menu by the team member and an initial order of two items from the Takoyaki options and a beer, you are introduced to the online menu system. From the first item order, you’re invited to add more items via a QR code system. Again, this is in German only, so have your google translate to hand. My only gripe with this system, is that it of course requires an internet connection. The restaurant does not offer WiFi for diners, and not all tourist diners are equally supplied by roaming data as I am. Regardless of that, I easily added some items to my order. First of all, I ordered the Teppachi Ramen… and not long after that, a second beer. The food, both the ramen and Takoyaki were extremely delicious and you can tell the Takoyaki is made fresh to order. The food was lovely and hot and full of flavour and texture. Feeling peckish, I added three Onigiri; Unagi, BBQ Pork, and Spicy Karaage. The rice was perfectly cooked and the interiors were again full of flavour. By the middle of the second Onigiri I was at bursting point. Truly a meal that satisfied me. Definitely a place to visit and experience. Very nice waiter but disappointment in terms of food, the takoyaki were ok but nothing more and the taiyaki were clearly not up to par in terms of taste, especially the matcha one and not garnished enough

Even though the shop is particularly known for its tako-yakis, I ordered a set consisting of two onigiris, 4 karaage and a miso soup. These were the best onigiris I have eaten so far. Freshly made and therefore still warm. Super tasty. The karaage was also very tasty and juicy. The service cannot be surpassed in terms of friendliness. The shop itself is totally authentic. Unfortunately, one point deducted for the air in the store. Unfortunately, either the exhaust didn't work properly or it's always like that. But after you've been there, everything smells extremely like a snack and unfortunately the scent doesn't go away that quickly. Still a spot that I would love to come back to when I'm in the area again.

The freshly made onigiris were generously filled, and the takoyaki were also delicious.

The original takoyaki had a soggy taste. We went there about 12:30pm. The line for ordering take out was very long. After finally finished ordering, we waited another 15 minutes to get our food. If the food was good, we might be able to tolerate the longer period time of waiting. But the takoyaki was nowhere close to tasty.

I spontaneously got two fresh onigiris. Took a while due to a good queue, but both were very tasty, especially the avocado miso. I'm assuming the takoyakis, which the shop is actually known for, taste great too!

I have no idea why I only ended up here now, but I was hungry for takoyaki and thought I'd try it here. Conclusion: The best takoyaki I have ever eaten so far! Tender and delicious, now I'm addicted to it. They are prepared in front of you, nothing pre-cooked. It doesn't get any fresher. Soooo delicious! There was also some dessert and an onigiri to try. Both warm and also freshly prepared and super delicious! I can highly recommend the shop to anyone who likes takoyaki! 10 stars!

A very cute little shop that serves fresh takoyaki, karaage, and other Japanese snacks. The prices are a bit high in my opinion, but understandable given the location. The two "sets" are highly recommended, as they allow you to try your way through the menu.

We ordered takoyaki and onigiri and ate outside within walking distance. The takoyaki tasted delicious, but they weren't crispy on the outside and some of the balls had no or only a small piece of octopus in them. The Unagi Onigiri was very tasty. The rice was perfect and there was plenty of stuffing. This is more worth it than from the supermarkets (which are also fresh). You pay extra for a lockable to-go box.

Great Takoyaki, speed of service depends heavily on the number of visitors, but the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, there is condensation dripping from the ceiling, which is signposted and is being remedied, but it is still a little irritating when eating.

This is our favorite spot on Immermannstraße. The ramen places are always full and we don‘t like waiting in line. Besides, we can get ramen anywhere, but not good takoyaki from a place that also offers delish karaage and freshly handmade onigiri 😁

Besides an amazing lunch deal—an onigiri set with one alteration, karaage, miso soup and a soft drink for just €16—this place was quite a find! The onigiri was freshly made in front of us and absolutely delicious. An interesting touch was the self-cleaning concept, where guests are invited to clear their plates and bring their drink bottles to the checkout—a unique experience in the heart of Düsseldorf.

We had the onigiri set at Takoyaki Teppachi, and it was perfect—fluffy rice and a cozy miso soup on the side. But the real treat? The dessert was amazing, and the guy who makes it is super cute. Definitely coming back for more—food and eye candy!

One of the best takoyaki restaurants I've ever had in my life. It's true that some of the ingredients are simpler, but I found the takoyaki to be perfect. We had to wait in line for quite a while, but it was worth it. We hope to return soon. Greetings from Spain!

First of all, if you're going to eat Samgam Gimbap at the store, just order the set. It comes with a smile and 4 karaages, so it's a moat item. The takoyaki here is really delicious. And the salmon triangle kimbap didn't have a fishy smell like Japanese home-cooked food, and the seasoning was just right, so it really felt like a Japanese friend had made it. My former co-worker happened to be named Tetbei, and the name of this restaurant was Tetbei, so it was interesting, and I was surprised that the taste of the triangle gimbap was exactly the same as the one my friend used to give me one by one from time to time haha. You have to pay a separate fee for takeout, so it's a bit burdensome if you order a lot of menu items. However, if you bring courage, they will kindly serve it to you.

The food itself is far from authentic Japanese food. The skin of Taiyaki is weird, matcha latte is way too sweet. The atmosphere is good though so if you simply want to hangout with friends it is ok

In my opinion, the best onigiri I've tried in Germany so far. As a comparison, I only have the one from the Asian shop. The takoyaki and chicken karaage skewers were also delicious!

I have to say it was very tasty, everything was freshly prepared. The staff can be a bit friendlier, especially at the reception, you feel somehow unwelcome, unfortunately there is no sauce or spices at the table. Chairs are very uncomfortable… just a wooden board and everything is cramped…

The tuna mayo onigiri was made fresh for us and was warm and delicious. However, I think the price is a bit too high at €3.80. My daughter thinks the onigiri at Hanaru Market is even better.

The best Japanese restaurant that I have ever been to. And I was 3 weeks in Japan this summer. This place is as good as it gets in Japan. And the most charming and beautiful waitress as a cherry on the cake. You will love this place

The food there is really delicious. Every time I'm in Düsseldorf I get at least 1 onigiri, so if you like onigiris you definitely have to go there. What's also pretty good is the miso soup (for €2) and the karaage sticks (chicken skewers)

I ordered the spicy karaage onigiri and the BBQ pork onigiri for takeaway. The shop was quite busy on a Friday, so I had to wait a bit, as there was even a long line of people waiting to be seated. I received a beeper that would notify me when my order was ready. Once it beeped, the staff handed us our onigiri in a box. However, when I got home and started eating, I realized there was a mix-up. I received the spicy karaage onigiri as ordered, but instead of the BBQ pork onigiri, I got a chicken teriyaki onigiri. I could tell it was chicken teriyaki because of the distinct flavor and the presence of chicken skin, which isn’t part of BBQ pork. I was a bit disappointed, as I was really looking forward to trying the BBQ pork onigiri. I understand the shop was very busy, but I hope this kind of mistake can be avoided in the future. Lesson learned: always double-check your order and confirm with the staff before leaving, especially when the shop is crowded. Mistakes can happen when it's busy, so a quick check can save any disappointment later.

We have had mixed experiences at Takoyaki Teppachi in Düsseldorf. We personally did not like the takoyaki very much, but that is probably a matter of taste. If you are a true lover of takoyaki, your experience may be different. The onigiris, on the other hand, were fantastic! They are freshly made and served hot, which is a really big plus. We especially recommend the unagi-onigiri; the taste is delicious and perfectly balanced. You do have to take a queue into account, but that is actually only logical for a popular place like this. The wait is definitely worth it. All in all a great experience, with the onigiri as an absolute highlight. For us a big 4 out of 5 stars!

The first takoyaki shop where vegetarians can also find what they are looking for! The onigiri are also great and a decent portion and the tayaki with croissant dough are incredibly tasty.

There are very tasty takoyakis here! Although we were super full, we still had to try the takoyakis in Düsseldorf. It was worth it, they are really very good! Unfortunately, some dishes and drinks were no longer available when we ordered. And it took a little long to prepare. You can pay by card here.

We went here for dinner because we love takoyaki. On the table it stated that the takoyaki they serve should be crunchy on the outside and a bit soft on the inside. Which we agree on, but sadly enough the takoyaki were also soft on the outside and looked a bit deflated. The taste was still good but the texture was a bit disappointing. The karaage and the ika geso ramen were very tasty and the miso was okay. We were too full to eat the onigiri but had them later on as a snack. They were tasty even after keeping them for a couple of hours and had used good quality nori to wrap the riceball in.

The Takoyaki is really good. My favorite is the original one. The place is a lil bit small, but the service is great. Glad I ever experienced that

Vacation to Düsseldorf and wanted to eat something with the boys, unfortunately we had to stand in line for an hour and wait half an hour for food. For a quick fast food meal that can be eaten in seconds...it's not worth the hype. The woman at the counter didn't let us know either.

We had to wait more than half an hour and had no message that the employee would take care of us. When we waited again for our food after 32 minutes it was very cold. Unfortunately, it is a food trap not recommended for tourists. Unfortunately, the woman at the counter was also very unfriendly, which is a shame.

Very cozy shop with great food and, above all, exceptionally attentive and friendly service. Had 2 ramen, one with takoyaki and one with fried octopus. There were also 3 onigiri with different fillings, the ones with grilled eel were particularly delicious. Fried chicken (karaage) also hit the spot. We particularly liked the atmosphere in the store. Prices are cheap to average depending on the dish, value for money is right. We have nothing to complain about. Big thanks again to the owner, who opened the shop for me an hour and a half after it closed to give me my cell phone, which I had forgotten there. And to the 3 nice Japanese women from the shop next to you who contacted you for me.

I didn't like the takoyakis. It's a simple mass of flour, like a doughnut, with a piece of octopus inside (in my case). The sauces they put on top have such a strong flavor that they interfere and don't let you appreciate the flavor of the takoyakis. I didn't like the karaage either. Overly battered greasy chicken. I liked the onigiri, on the other hand. The place is not entirely comfortable because instead of chairs there are wooden benches.

The food is worth the money, but no card payment is possible, which is a no-go for a business like this these days, but it's ok. The service is OK, but a bit sloppy

A nice place for authentic takoyaki. All the orders are made fresh so the wait can be long. The tastes is authentic but I would like it to be cooked a bit more to have a crispier outer shell. It is on a pricey side considering the portions.

Exciting and unusual: the takoyaki, small dough balls with octopus filling, which I tried on the recommendation of a very friendly waitress. Served with a spicy sauce and fish roe, they were a real experience in terms of taste and texture. Warning: They are extremely hot inside! As side dishes I chose edamame and a wakame salad - both light and fresh accompaniments. To round things off, I tried an eel onigiri, a classic Japanese rice dish. Although octopus, fish roe and eel are not my usual favorites, I was pleasantly surprised: everything tasted excellent and sent the palate on a culinary journey. This restaurant is an absolute recommendation for anyone not from Düsseldorf who likes to try new things, even if the shop doesn't look like much.

Half an hour standing in line + half an hour waiting for food. For a meal that's gone in five minutes.

Takoyaki Teppachi is an absolute must for my family every time we visit Düsseldorf. My 9-year-old son loves the dishes and the prices are really unbeatable - apart from the drinks, which I personally find a bit too expensive. But the excellent food completely makes up for it. We always order the Tako-yaki, which is also great to take with you. The service is always courteous and the food is prepared quickly and freshly. We are particularly impressed by the cleanliness of the restaurant; Sauces and hand sanitizer are available on every table. A thoroughly recommended restaurant for all lovers of Japanese street food! We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Ordered takoyaki (10x regular and 6x mayo) yesterday and they were fine. Ordered again today (6x vegetarian and 6x negi) and they took 30 minutes despite saying it would be 10, served two groups before us even though they came and ordered the same things after us, and used the wrong/vegetarian takoyaki for the negi. Disappointing.

Very tasty and fresh Takoyaki with a street food flair. The takoyaki are prepared in front of you and different types with toppings are offered. You can also order yakitori, karaage or onigiri here. Maybe not for really hungry people but definitely recommended as a snack! Here, too, you have to expect a waiting time on the weekend, but everything went well and the service was quick.

The food was super tasty. No matter whether tokoyaki, ramen or onigiri. The price is also completely reasonable. On Saturday afternoon, like everywhere in Düsseldorf, you have to wait a bit.

I was just there with a friend. We were standing right in front of the takeaway area. I'm sitting in a wheelchair. We were simply ignored. After 10 minutes we left. When we came back after a few minutes, we could see an Asian couple, probably Japanese, being served. One star is still too many for such “service”.
