I used to love going to Mongo's, but unfortunately, the pricing has changed to the detriment of vegetarians. The fact that the discounted vegetarian option at the buffet is no longer available is very frustrating. Now you pay full price even though you don't consume the most expensive items (meat and fish). This would be tolerable if the vegetarian options had been expanded. Unfortunately, the selection of vegetarian ingredients has stagnated for years. For me, the concept no longer works, as I'm effectively subsidizing other people's meat consumption without getting any added value on my plate. It's a real shame, because I used to love the restaurant.

Unfortunately, it will no longer be possible to visit this restaurant regularly (as in previous years). New prices have been introduced! Mongos Select has been discontinued. Even bread is no longer included in the Mongos Total menu. This is truly a shame and completely incomprehensible! Therefore, we are only giving it 3 stars (previously 5). Addendum to the company's response: The family brunch/Sunday brunch costs the same as Mongos BBQ. This is also incomprehensible, as the brunch offers much more. Shouldn't the "regular" BBQ be cheaper? As I said: very disappointing :o( Families are apparently no longer welcome.

Food was good, the place gets so loud, the line for making your food it got so long, had to wait for long to choose my dish and took long until they cooked it. The atmosphere was a normal modern restaurant, it had nothing to do with Mongo, and their chairs are so uncomfortable.

Delicious and good! Highly recommended, especially on a Sunday or holiday, with the additional appetizers and dessert. It's perfect that the sparkling water is also freely available. A large selection of vegetables, fish, and meat. The cocktails on offer are also good.

⸻ Unfortunately, my visit to Mongos Restaurant was a huge disappointment. The food was very bland and some of it was lukewarm. The selection seemed uninspired, and the ingredients didn't look particularly fresh. Despite the relatively high price, the quality fell far short of my expectations. The service was inattentive, and we had to wait a long time, even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. When we asked for help, the staff reacted with annoyance rather than helpfulness. The ambiance didn't salvage the experience either – it was loud and generally uninviting. Overall, the price-performance ratio is completely off. I won't be coming back and unfortunately cannot recommend this restaurant.

Thank you for the wonderful service on Boxing Day! I made a mistake when booking for 8 people for the day 🙈 Luckily, it was noticed the day before, and we were able to get a shorter time slot. Since we only had 1.5 hours for brunch due to my incorrect booking, the staff did everything they could to ensure our family had a lovely meal. Thank you so much!

this year we decided to celebrate Christmas at Mongo's. After a small mishap with a champagne glass we were treated to a wonderful buffet consisting of various Asian delicacies. Afterwards we enjoyed a bowl of spicy vegetables and various types of meat. for example kangaroo and crocodile. The dessert was also very enjoyable and topped off a great meal. The staff at the restaurant were very helpful and customer orientated.

Great place with exotic food and yet, safe for gluten free eating. The server was knowledgeable and accommodating. They offer marked trays when there is an allergy, so the chef cooks it separately. We parked across the street in a parking garage. Will definitely be back next time I am in the area.

The food is good to very good. Everything is fresh, and the concept is quite well thought out and refined. Sometimes the queue at the buffet is a bit long, but you can stay as long as you like. The service is super friendly and incredibly fast. Cleanliness is excellent. Keep up the good work!

We were there on Sunday with a group of friends. The food was good – but what deserves special mention is that I forgot to ask for a receipt, so I emailed Mongo's about it that same day. Instead of waiting days for a reply, I received a call from Ms. "S." from the restaurant just a few hours later (and that was on a Sunday!), followed by an email later that evening to clarify the matter. I think that's excellent, professional service, and I'd like to thank them very much for their customer-oriented approach. I'm happy to recommend them.

Mongo's is definitely worth a visit. We made a reservation for our wheelchair and dog stroller. I recommend making a reservation. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. The friendly staff explained the buffet system to us. The restaurant is very well-maintained. The buffet offers a very good, high-quality selection of vegetables, mushrooms, fish, and meat. The option to choose your preferred flavor profile completes the experience. We were completely satisfied and would like to thank them again!

It was my first time eating at Mongo's. The service was very friendly; they explained the system of basic sauces and gave us very helpful advice. The food selection is huge; if you like Asian food, you'll be happy here. I'll definitely be back.

The service and attention to detail have declined significantly. My food was mixed up for the first time in 16 years. But I found the server's reaction quite inappropriate. His exact words were, "Are you sure?" He also addressed us as if we were uninvited guests. For the first time, I felt uncomfortable. I miss Mongo's Bochum. It was unique among all the Mongo's restaurants.

A large buffet with fresh ingredients (vegetables, vegetarian options like tofu, and a wide variety of meats, including exotic varieties) is ready for you to fill into bowls. You then specify your desired sauce for grilling, and everything is brought fresh to your table. Here, everyone can create their own perfect meal. A great alternative to the usual Asian buffets!

The Sunday brunch was truly delicious! The waffle was freshly baked, which I always find really great! I also love the bowl concept, but I would also like it if you could maybe try the sauces beforehand? Otherwise, a good selection of fresh ingredients and some unusual items like parrotfish and red snapper!

The concept is fantastic – you can choose your own ingredients and sauces, and everything is freshly prepared right in front of your eyes. The selection is huge, from meat and fish to many vegetarian and vegan options. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is modern, cozy, and inviting. I especially liked the fact that you can try something new – a truly great experience for foodies! The value for money is absolutely fine for the quality and variety on offer. I'll definitely be back – an absolute recommendation for anyone who enjoys Asian cuisine with a unique style!

We always enjoy coming here. The buffet offers a huge selection. There's something for everyone. From a variety of vegetables to nuts, herbs, seaweed, some exotic meats, and traditional ones. There are also some very tasty options. I prefer Malay satay. We also like coming here for brunch. They also offer salads, soup, various desserts, and a few tasty snacks. The service is very friendly, and we were always well looked after. I also really like the location at the Media Harbor.

The ingredients gathered from the buffet are then prepared by the chef. It's quite fun and a social activity. Highly recommended.

Disastrous service!!! It took three hours. No one came. The entire table was full, and no one cleared the table. We couldn't even order more drinks; apparently, they don't want to make a profit. The service is the worst I've ever experienced. If the service continues like this, I won't be back.

Very tasty, reasonably priced. The ice cream is questionable. The food tastes slightly different every day. But I would still recommend it… the drinks are just way too expensive.

Try something new and interesting and combine it as you please: bison, water buffalo, kangaroo, water chestnuts, ostrich, for example. Add marinades of your choice. The starter was a delicious pumpkin seed soup.

We usually stay at the Köln hotel... But because of a concert and subsequent flight, we decided on Düsseldorf this time. What can I say? Düsseldorf was anything but disappointing. The truly friendly team in Düsseldorf left nothing to be desired. I would like to commend the on-duty management team for doing a fantastic job managing staff. We've rarely experienced such harmonious and considerate interaction. That alone is reason enough to come here more often. The food, as always, was excellent quality, with plenty of everything! It was our first time there, but certainly not the last.

We were a large group, including children, at my friend's birthday dinner. The waitress who served our table was simply fantastic! She looked after us very well, was very attentive, and courteous. She picked up the children well and was very patient and helpful. That made our evening very enjoyable. Thanks again, and keep it up. We need more like you in the service desert of Germany. 😉 The food was okay; I prefer the Asian 5-star restaurant, but that's a matter of taste, of course.

The service was friendly, but unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. Starting with the starter soup and the curry bread, which really gave us hope because both were really delicious, we were unfortunately left with a huge disappointment. The "Oriental" and "Ocean" marinades had absolutely no flavor—and that's not an exaggeration. At first, we thought it was a joke. It tasted like they had completely forgotten to use a marinade or spices. The Thai Red Curry was okay, but also absolutely nothing special. The cuisine literally consists of individual ingredients that you put in a small bowl to be prepared by the chef. This bowl is then brought back to your table. Incidentally, this isn't cooked in a wok, but simply fried in sequence on a plancha—with no real timing of the ingredients. In the end, we ate almost exclusively shrimp. And even then, the chef took some out of my bowl – when I got my plate back, there were only about 5-6 left. And that, even though I hadn't put in an excessive amount. Absolutely ridiculous. There was no boiled rice, no fried noodles, no stir-fry, or spring rolls – nothing you'd typically associate with Asian cuisine. Really just raw individual ingredients, as you can see in the pictures. Extras like spring rolls, of course, cost extra. Sorry, but for me, the concept has nothing to do with a restaurant visit – it's more reminiscent of half-board in a hotel. Even at the 3-star Hilton, you get a wider variety. Here, they simply served raw individual ingredients on ice, which were then fried at the same time – completely unimaginative. Especially for the price of €33 per person (without a drink), it's absolutely not justified. I can get much higher-quality food for that price.

Disappointing experience at Mongo’s, Blamed us for their failing payment system We had a unpleasant experience here that ruined what could have been a nice dinner. When it came time to pay, none of our five different cards worked, including German cards, a clear sign that the issue was on their side. Instead of helping to resolve the situation, the manager immediately blamed us for "not having money" after trying again with one of our cards even though we tried multiple banks, different networks (Maestro, Mastercard), and even a different terminal. Not once did he mention that there was an ATM just around the corner, which could’ve solved the situation in minutes. Given that German cards also failed, this points to either a network issue, a terminal configuration error, or a problem with their payment provider. Yet the manager chose instead to treated us with suspicion and disrespect. Restaurants that accept card payment have a responsibility to ensure their systems work properly, and to support guests professionally when they don’t. Blaming the customer and refusing to take any accountability is unacceptable. Would not recommend this place unless you bring cash only and are ready to be made to feel like a criminal when their tech fails. Also in was unusually warm and the seating was uncomfortable. The server did his work correctly and was nice, he asked the manager to come after trying multiple cards and termals. After the experience with the manager the sever was the one that said there is a ATM around the corner, this is why giving 1 star for service seems unreasonable for me.

With the buffer and the all you can drink option you are guaranteed a fantastic evening with friends, family or colleagues. The Thai Red curry is highly recommended!

We happened upon Mongo's by chance. At first, we were a bit overwhelmed by the process, but the staff explained everything very nicely. The staff are also very attentive and regularly ask about drink preferences and other requests. We felt very comfortable and would be happy to come back.

Quite nice. There was a live beetle in the food at the buffet. The shell was taken out briefly and then put back. That spoils your initial appetite. The preparation wasn't exactly great. The taste was rather bland.

And the best part: everything is freshly grilled. The service is always good and friendly. The atmosphere is pleasant and inviting. For lovers of fresh, unique, and delicious Asian cuisine, MONGOS Mongolian BBQ is definitely worth a visit. We love coming back!

The place is really stylishly decorated – modern, cozy, and with a well-thought-out, urban Asian vibe. No overly cluttered decor chaos, just simple and cool. You immediately notice: There's a concept behind this. And then came the food… Guys, hold on tight: I've rarely had such good Asian food outside of Asia. Truly. Fresh, aromatic, to the point – every dish was an explosion of flavor with soul. From sushi to wok dishes to delicately seasoned sauces: simply world-class. Someone in the kitchen not only knows their stuff, but also truly loves their craft. The service was also top-notch – attentive, friendly, and yet pleasantly unfussy. No stress, no rush – simply an all-around successful evening. In conclusion: If you're in Düsseldorf celebrating Asian food and are willing to look beyond the name (and you really should!), you'll be served a culinary masterpiece here. For me, this is an absolute must on my next visit to the city – and a definite recommendation with three exclamation points!

We went there with a group based on a recommendation. The ambiance is very nice, and the location in the Media Harbor is great. The service was also perfectly fine. Unfortunately, I would only describe the food as mediocre. I had three different bowls and a fried ice cream. It really wasn't bad, but it wasn't so amazing that it completely blew me away and made me want to come back again. That was also the group's summary.

We had a very pleasant visit to Mongo's. The restaurant has a modern and cozy atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpful, explaining the concept well and helping us choose. The drinks were very good – fresh and attractively served. We also enjoyed the soup and bread to start the meal. The ingredients for the food were fresh, and it was interesting to put together our own combinations and have them grilled. Everything was well prepared and tasted excellent. Overall, Mongo's offers a unique and successful dining experience. We would be happy to return.

I love eating here. The concept is great, the people employed are very competent and friendly. Having been there several times now, I have to say that I also think the expansion of paying by quantity is very good. You can also take part in the buffet if you have allergies, at least my sister-in-law didn't have any problems (to be on the safe side, just let us know and they'll take care of it) Definitely worth a visit (or several). If I had anything to comment on, it would be the rather loud atmosphere (not from music but from conversations). You would have to decide for yourself whether it would suit the occasion, although in my opinion it is still within reason.

We ended up here by chance and had dinner in the evening. The ambience is nice, but it was quite loud and busy. The food is delicious, the price is of course higher due to the AYCE, but the drink prices are okay. The service is good, there was always someone nearby who could be spoken to.

We were there on Sunday for the all-day brunch and absolutely loved it: the normal Mongos buffet plus lots of great small appetizers, a soup station, a huge dessert selection with lots of small dessert glasses plus an ice cream and waffle station with all kinds of toppings and free water and coffee! All of this in top quality with great service!

We were here for Sunday brunch and were mostly satisfied. The restaurant is large and this also applies to the buffet. There is a large selection and some things that you rarely see, such as crocodile or zebra. You choose alternating sauces for everything. The only drawback, I found that there was always too much sauce per serving

Somehow tasty but apart from that much too expensive I don't think the all you can eat concept really fits. I mean 35€ and you can only eat a maximum of 2 bowls anyway. And then another 8 per beer. Violent

Exotic restaurant with offers of free buffet ingredients for wok. You choose the drinks, starters and sauces for the wok at the table and you yourself fill the bowl with the remaining ingredients to pass the order to the cooks. The range of meats, interesting because of their origin (ostrich, zebra, kangaroo...). In my case, kangaroo. I couldn't tell you if you really get to taste the meats you choose, due to the large amount of seasonings that accompany them. But it's good. The other interesting offer, the starters. The most surprising, the insects. I tried them all, locusts, worms... It wasn't bad. But it wasn't exquisite.

We particularly liked the support we received from Mona, who explained everything to us in a very friendly manner and always made sure that all of our wishes were fulfilled. The food itself, the selection and the idea behind the concept of the restaurant is not bad at all and is interesting. However, the service and the atmosphere make the food inedible. We were seated at the table by an incredibly unsympathetic waiter without any explanation, which is necessary with such a concept. You don't feel welcome and not a single employee seemed serious. The dessert buffet from the Asian brunch resembled a child's birthday party and the bowls that we put together almost always contained ingredients that we didn't choose, i.e. leftovers from other customers. I imagine it would be very funny when it comes to allergies. The restaurant clearly fails to achieve what it is trying to be.

What a difference service can make... Unfortunately, our visit to Mongo was disappointing. We were seated at a table without the concept being explained to us - something that seems to happen more often according to reviews. The waiters seemed disinterested and not particularly friendly, which made the experience unpleasant. Even though the restaurant wasn't full, we had to wait far too long for our food. For the price I would have expected something better. We also received the wrong bowl - something completely different than what we had put together and ordered. The dessert was more reminiscent of a mixed bag from the kiosk.

I've been a guest of Mongos since the very beginning. After countless visits over decades to various locations, today I was disappointed for the first time in Düsseldorf. The food was nowhere near the quality I'm used to from Mongos. Neither sauce, vegetables nor meat were tasty. Added to this was the substandard service. We were sometimes ignored.

Super tasty food, allergens are taken very well into consideration. Gluten-free and contamination-free are possible without any problems.

Staff very unreliable Orders either came late or not at all, food always arrived cold at the table, generally it wasn't right, wouldn't recommend eating there.

We've loved Mongo's for years, but the last 1-2 visits we thought that it wasn't the same as it used to be, the sauces tasted weak, the atmosphere was too wild and not as calm and pleasant anymore. Butrrr today we went there again and the sauces were PERFECT again and we enjoyed it so much, the service was good, the vibes were right. I really hope it stays that way! Of all the places we've been to recently, this was our favorite restaurant. You have the ingredients you want cooked on your own plate. Everything we ate was delicious. The price performance is very successful. If you are coming on the weekend, I recommend you to make a reservation. The staff is also very friendly.

This is definitely my favorite restaurant in Dusseldorf, they have a lot of fresh ingredients, there are options in the ingredients for vegetarians, vegans, gluten free options so basically you can take your group of friends with you and everyone will be happy! I normally go there for dinner without reservation but if you are going during the weekends I recommend making a reservation to guarantee your spot! The sauces are amazing, they have explanation on what each sauce has and which type of meats or vegetables it matches, also information about level of spicy (I am very happy about this since I don’t like spicy food) they have 2 options, one you pay the weight of what you eat and the other one you eat as much as you like for a fixed price, if you eat less than 700-800g per meal I recommend the first option, otherwise go with the fixed price. The desserts are delicious as well, I love the chocolate one but they also have some Japanese and ice cream. I tried their lemonade and it is amazing, my favorite is the mango and passion fruit :)

Unfortunately, our visit to Mongo’s Düsseldorf was anything but a relaxed experience. We had made reservations in advance for four people and even spoke to the restaurant twice by phone - once to announce our delay and once directly with the manager to clarify that we needed the table longer so that we could enjoy the experience in peace. The answer was always reassuring: “No problem, I can handle it.” Despite an unforeseen traffic jam caused by an accident, we informed the restaurant again by phone and were again assured that our delay was not a problem. However, the reality on site was very different. It was made clear to us that the table was only available for a limited time. After just 1.5 hours we were informed that we would have to finish our meal soon. When I sought conversation and asked why this clear time limit wasn't communicated to me over the phone - after all, we would have chosen another restaurant straight away - my concerns were not addressed at all. Instead, they just said that the table would be needed soon. Our request to at least be allowed to eat in peace and enjoy dessert was ignored. What was particularly unpleasant was that the manager loudly explained in front of all the guests that he couldn't call the police and that we definitely wanted to visit the restaurant again. In the end we couldn't finish our meal but had to pay full price and felt literally pushed out of the restaurant. The poor communication, the unfriendly behavior and the lack of customer orientation disappointed us.

A classic "all you can eat" shop. With the usual Asian delicacies. What stood out for me was the great service. Our waiter, Oliver, commented at the beginning that there were few staff present today. Therefore it can sometimes take a little longer. The store got pretty busy, but the staff there always remained friendly. The personnel bottlenecks were not apparent in the service. That was a strong performance! Also worth mentioning are the, sometimes exotic, dishes. Zebra, ostrich and llama meat is rarely found in the region. Insects are also on the menu, but I can't say anything about them. I also really liked the fact that everything was freshly prepared. Although this does lead to waiting times, especially when it's full. All in all we were very satisfied.

Mongos is one of my favorite restaurants. Even if the whole vegan thing means the marinades aren't as great as they used to be. Düsseldorf also has a really cozy atmosphere. The only point of criticism that matters a lot to me personally: at brunch there are no longer any salads (leaf lettuce, cucumber, tomato, peppers, corn, dressing) and often only products like frozen chicken nuggets are available. A little tip: Essen still makes salads and they are also MUCH better prepared, in bowls for self-service like before Corona and also fresh chicken trios with a coconut coating, for example. That would be a reason to switch to the competing restaurant and therefore deduct a star. I would also like to be in Düsseldorf ☺️. The ingredients are there for the starters that can be ordered and also for the buffet. So it wouldn't be an issue to offer them at the starter buffet. Unfortunately, the delicious salads with tandoori chicken and squid are no longer available - they have given way to seaweed 😕

The food tasted good. Selection good. However, some of the vegetables were still completely raw. But the service is underground. In just under 3 hours we only got 1 drink and were only able to have 3 bowls prepared in this time because the staff was very inattentive. The preparation took forever. Rice was reordered several times, but it didn't come. We weren't full. Don't come back.

As is typical for this small chain, a great restaurant. Due to individual frying with various ingredients and sauces, there is something for every taste. Always a good place to start!

Unsere Gruppe hat sich sehr wohl gefühlt, auch wegen des Seniors-Rabatt. Wir hatten drei davon unter uns. Die Stimmung bzw. das Ambiente ist wohltuend jugendlich, was auch durch den sehr aufmerksamen jungen Service dokumentiert wird. Die Speisen waren gut wie gewohnt. Ein angenehmer Abend dank sehr guter Organisation des Restaurants.

wir fanden die Bowls mit verschiedene Saucen an sich ein gut Idee. Was uns gestört hat, ist das die ganze frische Zutaten nach dem Kochen sehr vermatscht waren. Wir hätten lieber das fleisch zwar gut mariniert, aber das Gemüse zwar mariniert aber deutlich knackiger.

Besser frühzeitig hingehen, da es ansonsten voller sein kann

Durchwachsen. Die Plätze für 10 Personen waren zum Termin nicht hergerichtet (man war sich auch nicht sicher ob diese schon frei sind). Der Service ist durch (wahrscheinlich) Unterbesetzung überfordert. Zu dem bestellten Wasser in Flaschen musste mehrfach auf fehlende Gläser hingewiesen werden. Bestellte Getränke kamen erst auf weitere Aufforderung oder waren falsch. Wie der Betrieb weniger wurde klappte es auch mit dem Service. Im Großen und Ganzen gut, aber ausbaufähig. Wir kommen trotzdem gerne wieder.

Ein wundervoller Abend! Toller Service, großartiges Essen! Äußerst leckerer Wein. Unser Platz war versteckt und dennoch genossen wir volle Aufmerksamkeit des Personales! Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Super nice, stylishly furnished restaurant, super friendly service, super delicious food. We had the Sunday brunch. It's worth every penny.
