I love their food in both locations in Munich. The service is good as well.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was really nice.

Service is great, ambience is also good. But unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right. Others have already written it, unfortunately they are right. Very cheap ingredients are used and the meat is of low quality. Anyone who pays attention to good quality will taste it straight away. In addition, some of the food is very salty. Unfortunately, paying €26 for rice with meat + peppers and some sauce is a bit cheeky given this quality. I would therefore not recommend this restaurant to my friends.

Best noodles in Munich and the surrounding area by far. EAT THE NOODLE!!!!!

At the beginning the table we reserved was not yet available. Although this is generally not a serious problem, our patience was increasingly put to the test after waiting around 20 minutes. After we were finally able to sit down, a waiter named Jan approached us, who initially appeared friendly and took our order. However, the drinks took 15 minutes to arrive, which was an unreasonable delay considering that the food did not follow on time either. The food was initially forgotten by Mr. Jan and not properly forwarded to the kitchen. When we asked, he apologized and assured us that the food would be delivered within 15 minutes. However, this time also turned out to be incorrect. After 90 minutes had passed and our patience was increasingly exhausted, we decided to leave the restaurant. We informed Mr. Jan of our intentions, whereupon he responded in a louder tone and made inappropriate comments in his choice of words. Despite the obvious dissatisfaction on our part, Mr. Jan demanded that we not only have to pay for the drinks but also for the food, even though these had not even been served at that point. After intensive discussions, he finally brought the ordered food, but it was served cold and in a condition that did not meet the expected standard. The dish had no culinary special features and the taste was reminiscent of ready-made products such as Barrilla pasta and beef broth from Knorr. Given the fact that we were charged a price of 20 euros for this, we consider this request to be unreasonable and unreasonable.

The atmosphere was very nice. Even though the restaurant was full, you could have a good conversation. The waiter was very friendly and gave us very good advice. Following his recommendation, we ordered the Quorup Läghmen and were not disappointed. I can recommend everyone to come by once.

Our party of 8 was well looked after, the food was great, the ambience was really calm. We loved it.

We loved this place! The service was a 10 out of 10. From the moment we arrived, we received excellent attention. We absolutely loved the food—we ordered the dumplings and the dishes 11 and 14, and they were amazing! The portions are generous; I shared with my partner, and we were both very satisfied. On top of that, the restaurant has a great atmosphere.

I have no idea why it only has a 4.0. We've been there three times and every time it was a perfect experience

Positives first, the service was friendly and the food came quite quickly. The dishes themselves, dumplings and roasted lamb were ok but the price was way too high. So far, far too high for this quality and quantity. Almost 25€ and you get a few dumplings without sauce etc. And the lamb dish for just under 35€ was, to be honest, cheeky. We won't come here again. There are much better Uyghurs in Munich.

I can't understand some of the bad reviews. Yes, the price is high - even for what you get, I understand - but: you see the prices beforehand and also see the dishes, then I decide against the restaurant. The restaurant is very clean and cozy. Very chicly furnished and soft piano music plays in the background. The staff was very friendly. Our food also came relatively quickly (about 20 minutes) and tasted really good and the portion was enough so that we were full from just the main course. Would come back immediately, especially for dinner with a nice atmosphere.

The worst tofu I've ever eaten in my life. Unfortunately you couldn't prove that the meat was Helal. A mere “jaja ist helal” is not enough. You have to be able to prove this.

I ordered tofu with rice. Unfortunately the tofu was far too soft, which I didn't like at all. It also didn't taste good and was unfortunately too expensive for a simple rice and tofu combination.

Real authentic Uyghur hand pulled noodles. With closest taste to the real thing. I recommend the noodles ‘Taklamakan Laghman’ and the ‘GöxPiazCormisi’ which is fried meat over basmati rice. The Ambience is good. I think they need to increase their waiters by a few. Overall highly recommend for authentic, halal food within walking distance from the Hauptbahnoff and Marienplatz

Our favourite restaurant in the city. Yet the portions, especially the meat proportion is decreased, We are addicted to their noddles ( qorup and taklamakan laghman). Just be ready to wait for a while until you are served. But it will worth it.

Really terrible food, pretending to be a Uyghur restaurant

There were four of us here for dinner and we initially had a place on the terrace where we ate the starter. Because of a thunderstorm approaching, we moved to a designated place inside. Unfortunately, this no longer worked properly for serving the main courses. First two main courses were served, but without cutlery, for which we then had to wait several minutes. The other two main courses arrived considerably late. Anyway, all the dishes tasted good. We only found the cucumber salad, which was a bit tasteless, to be too expensive at around 9 euros. The location is very nice, both on the terrace and in the interior, where you can sit on two levels, each with a beautiful view of Isartorplatz. Overall, a rather high-priced restaurant, but also with “decent” portions. Half of it was enough to fill me up. I found the drinks prices to be rather good value for Munich standards.

On September 4th We went to the restaurant without a reservation and the waiter asked us to wait 15-20 minutes. We noticed that there were many free tables in the upper area of ​​the restaurant and there were no bookings noted on Quandoo either. I then politely asked the waiter why no bookings were displayed on Quandoo and yet there were tables available. The young gentleman then became hot-tempered and his answer was: "...you think I'm lying, you see how crowded it is". Then I asked him to calm down because I just wanted to know the reason, which is legitimate as a customer. His answer was simply: "... then just book it, the waiting time won't change." He had already asked us if we had a reservation. Another employee, probably the service or catering manager, finally came to us, apologized for his colleague's behavior and explained the organizational difficulties of the evening. After the aforementioned waiting time, we were seated and served by another waiter. Despite the high occupancy, the food was served relatively quickly. The food was excellent and the Uyghur dishes provided an interesting experience. The previously angry waiter occasionally came to clear our table and seemed to have calmed down by now. Conclusion: Despite initial difficulties, the service from the other employees and the quality of the food served was very good. However, there is one star deduction for the unprofessional behavior of the young waiter, who didn't even apologize for his emotional outburst, even though he cleared us twice. After paying, I wanted to ask him about his behavior, but unfortunately he was no longer there - perhaps he was already finishing work or busy cleaning up. If the waiter in question is reading this, everyone has a bad day, which I totally understand. Nevertheless, as a service provider you should have a certain amount of self-reflection and apologize PERSONALLY! If there is a lack of professionalism in the catering sector, you should consider whether this profession is the right one. Such behavior may be acceptable in private, but not with a customer who asks politely. Ultimately, I pay for the service, the food and the location and not for the bad behavior.

A culinary highlight – an absolute must! I had the pleasure of dining at Taklamakan in Munich today and I have to say it was one of the best dining experiences I've had recently. I chose number 10 on the menu, accompanied by the delicious dumplings as a starter - and it was simply fantastic! The dumplings were perfectly prepared: the dough was amazing, the filling was juicy and full of flavor. They were served with an aromatic sauce that rounded the whole thing off perfectly. It was the ideal start to a real feast. The main course, number 10, was a revelation! The combination of tender pieces of meat, perfectly cooked vegetables and the wonderfully seasoned noodles was simply heavenly. The spices were balanced and brought out the flavors of the individual ingredients perfectly. Every forkful was a treat and I couldn't get enough of it. The atmosphere at Taklamakan is cozy and inviting, and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. You can immediately tell that the cooking here is done with a lot of love and dedication. I can recommend Taklamakan to anyone looking for something special. If you want to experience authentic Uighur cuisine, this is the place! Number 10 on the menu is an absolute must, and the dumplings as a starter are simply irresistible. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Lagman with beef very tasty. I ordered from the regular menu and saw too late that it was available as a lunch menu on Tuesdays. Was pleasantly surprised when I was only charged the lunch price. Gladly again!

Tohuk Laghman costs 22/23 EUR and the portion has become smaller than before and you can hardly find any vegetables anymore. There were no pieces of meat, just scrap/bone parts. The dish looked better 6-7 months ago. Doesn't skimp on quality, is too noticeable and disappointing.

It was a real pity, my wife and i were really curious about the Uigur kitchen would be. The experience was disastrous, we had booked a table for Friday night, in principle restaurant looked nice, also the dishes. The menu is a bit limited, basically rise and noodles, but we can accept that. We had to wait almost 1 hour to get the food on the table. In the meantime, i asked how much more should we wait, at the end it is just noodles, the waiter was very unprofessional and unpolite, i would have not expect this kind of answer and behavior. At the end dinner was a fiasco. My recommendation is the time to wait and the price is not worth, food is quite similar to any fast food asiatic restaurant

Very easy to reach and located in the immediate vicinity of the Isar Gate, the Taklamakan is very modern and well-kept. You can also sit outside, the inside area is two floors, the view is quite nice for this location in Munich. You should definitely try the hand-pulled noodles - fresh and without a lot of frills, simply a pleasure. We were there at lunchtime and the service looked after us in an attentive and friendly manner. Recommended 👍🍻

We discovered this restaurant by chance. Since I'm originally from Kazakhstan, I'm very familiar with the main dish, lagman. I haven't eaten it as tasty as it does here at home either. Everything very fresh, perfectly seasoned, served hot. Service and ambience are great. I will definitely come back the next time I visit Munich. Thank you very much!

Unfortunately rather disappointing. The handmade noodles were delicious and the meat was tender, but the sauce with vegetables consisted entirely of peppers and was very bland. It reminded me more of goulash and I think it had nothing to do with Chinese/Asian. The restaurant was busy - but there weren't enough staff and no one came by even after ordering. Although that's the case almost everywhere right now... The table arrangement was pleasant and not too cramped and the restaurant was attractive.

One of the worst places to be in the city. Food is nothing to talk about. Service is EXTREMELY bad and really slow. Prices are definitely not worth. Add on top a crappy atmosphere and acoustics and you have a recipe for "greatness".

I recently had the worst dining experience of my life at this restaurant, where I was discriminated against and treated unfairly compared to white customers. When we entered, the waitress told us we needed to wait 20 minutes before she could take our order because their system was closed. However, a group of white people came in right after us, and the same waitress immediately took their order. Our group of four Korean ordered four dishes and four drinks, but only one dish and the drinks arrived after 45 minutes. After waiting another hour, we asked about the rest of our food. The waitress responded extremely rudely and arrogantly, admitting she had forgotten to place the order for the remaining dishes, without offering any apology. Throughout our time there, the waitress ignored our attempts to make eye contact to order drinks, yet she was always busy and kind around white customers. We paid for the one dish and the drinks we received and left ourselves since the waitress continued ignoring our request to order. In total, we spent almost 3 hours there and experienced blatant unfair treatment. This racist experience made us feel really bad and deeply disappointed. I wouldn't recommend going there if you're not white to avoid discrimination and huge disappointment, as everyone goes to a restaurant for a pleasant experience. The lack of basic customer service and courtesy was shocking and unacceptable. Save yourself the trouble and choose a different place where all customers are treated with respect.

Very bad experience, slow and tastes nothing. The food is not from China but from Germany!

I haven't been there for several years because the service was always so slow (once, as a single guest, I had to wait 90 minutes for my entree!). But the food has always been very good in the past. Now I took advantage of a time when it was empty to finally eat Uyghur food again and was unfortunately disappointed in a different way: The service was good this time, but unfortunately the food no longer tasted authentic: both Uyghur salad and lagman were not spicy and it lacked the special Uyghur taste. Unfortunately, Lagman is no longer available with lamb and Da Pan Ji has also been removed from the menu. The food wasn't bad, but the lack of authenticity means I won't have to come back to risk catching the infamous Taklamakan service. It didn't matter that I paid more for the drink than what was listed on the menu.

Unfortunately not recommended. The service is practically non-existent, nobody comes by and other guests felt the same way. The location and view from the restaurant, especially from the first floor, is really great. The facility as well. In addition to the really terrible service, the food is definitely tasty but absolutely nothing special for these prices. There are really enough other good options in Munich where you can go out for dinner in the evening.

I arrived when the restaurant just opened and no guests were inside. I asked for taking away 2 dishes, but still waited for almost 30 mins. As Chinese food standard, the food is just okay. I think it's not worth waiting for such a long time for the food, and it's way too expensive for this quality, even in Munich. I would only recommend this restaurant for people who want to talk for a long time and don't feel too hungry when entering the restaurant because the restaurant looks big and cosy. Then the price and quality fit.

Fantastic noodles - also with a meatless side dish

-The food was good but not exactly cheap (just under €19) for a pasta dish -Ambience nicely decorated -very long waiting times for food -Waiter was nice but unfortunately very bad (slow, repeatedly forgetting orders, not clearing away empty glasses, plates of the starter were there until the end)

So first the positive: The food tasted very good and the waiter was nice. However, the noodles were served ice cold. That doesn't work with supposedly freshly made pasta. Then they warmed up somehow. The soup we ordered wasn't available either, which can happen. But was informed 45 minutes after ordering.

Pure failure. I ordered from the lunch menu on Friday. Läghmen noodles (chosen from 2 dishes) and Samsa starter. Läghmen noodles came lukewarm after 45 minutes. Samsa's starter was more than below average. Service was bored. Unfortunately, the restaurant is not recommended. Maybe the chef was on vacation?

The food here is like I know it from my grandmother and my mother with Uyghur roots. The style of the restaurant is pleasant and the workers were also friendly and nice.

The hand-pulled noodle has a perfect chewy consistency and is really delicious. The sauce can be even thicker :) Anyway worth a visit.

These dumplings that simply taste like nothing and come cold. Cutlery that is completely sticky. Don't ever do that to yourself again.

Then we got told that our german was rude ... well ... first of all we are sorry if our german was not polite. Second of all, you could have told us if you thought you were offended. Obviously you can tell that german is not our mother tongue ...

Uyghur cuisine is not very familiar in Japan, but it has the taste that Japanese people like and it is all delicious. Especially the handmade noodles are similar to Japanese udon.

Really nice restaurant centrally in Munich. Very pleasant atmosphere, lots of space between the tables. It was very busy on a weekday, but due to the facilities it wasn't noisy, it was easy to have a conversation. The food (Uighur) was really tasty, everything was freshly prepared and visually appealing. Even when it comes to drinks, nothing is left to be desired. There is still a bit of room for improvement when it comes to service, but I can really only recommend Taklamakan if you want to eat something really different.

I loved the food and the place. It was so much food that they prepared the rests for me to take home. I had it the next day and it was still delicious. It is the type of restaurant that once you find it, you create excuses to bring your friends over, one by one so that you can eat here more often!

We were there today around 18.45 and ordered Lagmans and a few salads. We ordered 2 regular and 1 vegetarian Lagman. They were so delicious but served roughly 45 mins later. Uygur salad was also delicious. Selin helped us there. She was so nice and friendly but she was almost alone upstairs, that is why she was running around all the time. We may go there again but we would try to order beforehand.

The service was excellent, very attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, the food is simply nothing special, no particularly outstanding taste, no special creations and, above all, very overpriced. You pay €24 for chicken breast with peppers and rice... It definitely wasn't bad or lacking, but in my opinion it's not worth visiting.
