Takahumi Sushi in Frankfurt am Main

🍣 I had high expectations, as the prices suggested a premium level. The menu also included more elaborate dishes, but I opted for something simple. The flavor wasn't as refined as I'd hoped, and the fish wasn't cooked perfectly. The rice had the right consistency and was attractively presented, but the combinations didn't seem particularly sophisticated. The selection is varied, but the value for money doesn't live up to expectations. The lemonade is not recommended, as it's bland and too thin.

The food is delicious and the presentation of the dishes is excellent, but their online advertising is greatly exaggerated. There's a huge difference between the advertisements and the reality of the restaurant. You might be shocked when you visit and see the discrepancy between the advertising and what you actually experience. Good luck.

Absolutely overpriced and the worst sushi I've ever had. I had the Sushilecious for €32, which it was barely worth. 0 stars!

They have a pastry section as well. We wanted to try it because it showed as open on Google Maps. There was also a paper sign on the door stating that they were open (I’ve added a photo). However, when we asked the restaurant, we were told that the it is only open on Mondays. Very poor service and communication.

If you think you’ve seen everything in Japanese cuisine, believe me, this place will take your breath away! ​Finding this place was a bit of a quest (life hack: look for it in the underground passage between metro stations right in the city center), but oh my god, it’s 1000% worth it! As soon as you step through the door, you enter a completely different world: a very small, intimate and incredibly cozy space. ​You can watch with your own eyes how the chefs conjure up your order right in the hall. It’s a real handmade performance! ​The food is simply mind-blowing! I ordered a bowl, and honestly, without exaggeration, it’s the best I’ve ever had in my life. The quality of the ingredients is simply top-notch, everything is very fresh. ​The presentation here is like a separate art form. The most exquisite presentation of dishes I’ve ever seen in Japanese restaurants. Each plate is like a painting. Very cool selection of sushi and Ramen. The menu is so wide and original that you want to come back again and again to try absolutely everything. I didn't have enough photos of all the dishes on the menu, because the ones that are there just make you want to buy them🫢 ​A separate plus for the selection of drinks — they perfectly complement the taste of the dishes. It's hard to surprise me with anything when it comes to Asian cuisine, but here I was simply amazed. Pleasant, tasty, soulful. ​If you want something special, not just "the usual rolls" — run here (just don't miss the entrance in the passage! 😉).

I haven't had such high-quality sushi in a long time. Open kitchen, amazing chefs, high-quality fish!! I especially recommend it for a date. Girls will love it.

There were three of us eating there. The sushi was very, very good, even though we only ordered a small portion because our daughter wanted ramen. The service was excellent; the server gave our daughter great advice and even gave us a quick lesson on how to eat properly with chopsticks. Many thanks to the gentleman with the neck tattoo! 😊💪

I've eaten at Takahumi a couple of times and ordered again today… but that was the last time! The chicken skewers were cold and soggy. The sushi tasted good, but each inside-out roll had a different amount, or rather, a very little, of salmon tartare, and the salmon nigiri were only half the size they used to be. Even the two flower petals couldn't cheer me up. A real shame.

However, it's possible if you don't have budget constraints. I went today, March 29, 2025, based on the good reviews, and once again I had to conclude that positive Google reviews in Frankfurt am Main have unfortunately become as inflated as the paper mark in the Weimar Republic. Positive points: -The marketing is sensationally good. You get a high-quality impression right away, and the presentation of the food is top-notch. -The service is very fast, polite, and friendly. -The chicken karaage was delicious/highly recommended. -It's fun to watch the sushi chefs preparing the food at the counter. Neutral: -The sushi is, at best, "good." That would be perfectly acceptable, but the price suggests "very good" to "excellent." However, that's not the case. I see significant room for improvement in the quality of the ingredients. -The octopus balls had almost no octopus flavor. -The octopus was barely perceptible in the octopus balls. ... Both chairs at the counter were dirty with food residue when we arrived and had to be cleaned first. The ramen was also "good," but at €19, you'd expect "very good," which wasn't the case here. In summary, I personally won't be coming back, as I have to work too hard for my money and consider the value for money inadequate. However, I encourage readers to try Takahumi Sushi to gain experience and form their own opinion. I understand the situation of restaurateurs, especially with an anti-business government, but as a consumer, I have to represent my interests and seek the best value for my money.

A beautiful restaurant tucked away in the subway passage. The various sushi dishes we chose were absolutely delicious. The service was very friendly, and the interior is very cozy, modern, and clean. Definitely recommended.

I've been many times and the truth is, the food is always very good. The prices have gone up and the portions are smaller. The place is small, but it moves quickly and you can usually find a spot at the bar :)

This will make life much easier for those who are looking! • Despite the initial slight difficulty, going down the stairs reveals an absolutely charming, cozy, small, and impeccably clean environment. It's a beautiful and discreet place. Service and Communication: • I was promptly attended to by a very helpful employee who helped me make my choice, which was essential. • Fundamental Suggestion for Tourists: As a tourist who doesn't speak German, I felt the lack of communication options. It would be very helpful if the restaurant provided menus in English or Spanish (even if it's just one or two laminated copies kept). • Additional Tip: Increasing the number of photos on the menu would greatly help with the choice. Photos sell the experience, and as we say, "we eat with our eyes"! Overall Experience: Although initial communication was a challenge (overcome by the waiter's goodwill), the beauty of the environment and the quality of the food (which must be incredible, from what I saw!) make me give it 5 stars. I would love to be able to compliment the employee who helped me (who, judging by the sound, might have been something like "Pon"), but I was too shy to ask their name and I'm not sure how to spell it. • Benefit: Having their name visible would allow customers to give positive and specific feedback on the excellent service, which is a great incentive for the team and helps management identify their best employees!

This is simply a magnificent place! For me, this is now the best restaurant in Frankfurt. I really liked the attentive waiters (I dropped a sushi chopstick on the floor, and before I even realized it, two new chopsticks were already on my table, and I didn’t even have time to blink; the waiter is a professional). Also, our dishes were served very quickly and we didn’t have to wait. Overall, I recommend everyone visit this place!!! I recommend you try the dishes you see in my photos, and pay special attention to these divine pink cocktails!

Positive: The food arrived super fast (at lunchtime). Everything was delicious! Negative: I've never paid so much for salmon sashimi, especially since the portion was so small. The seating is very close, and you can't help but overhear everyone's conversations.

I've eaten what might be the best ramen in Germany here! The sushi is also incredibly high quality, and every bite is a delight. For me personally, this place alone is reason enough to travel to Frankfurt. Its somewhat hidden location might suggest it's a secret, but on both of my previous visits, the restaurant was always packed – just so you know.

Cozy little restaurant, underground near train station. Food was very delicious, deluxe bowl was so colorful and fish was really fresh and tasted amazing. Had some ramen as well and that was perfectly made too, rich in flavor and filling. Honey lemonade super tasty and refreshing, definitely give it a go! Staff doesn't speak much English and still able to communicate fairly good, super polite and attentive, always checked on us if we wanted anything else, how's the food etc etc. fast service so didn't have to wait much for anything. I was there twice, and the impressions are very different. On Thursday the rall was absolutely tasty, I've enjoyed a lot. But when I came back on Saturday, the service was on the same high level, but the rolls where much worse. I was upset considering I ordered the most expensive rolls.

This place is AMAZING. The fact it is located in the subway makes it even better! Easily some of the best sushi I have ever had. Definitely get the prawn tempura and let Niklas order for you. Just trust the process and you won’t be disappointed!

Friendly service from seating to explaining their menu options. We ordered the sashimi plate and a rainbow roll. Both were prepared and presented artistically at the sushi bar with a few eatable flowers. The fish was fresh. Overall, a very enjoyable and tasty meal!

This sushi restaurant is quite hidden on the B level of the Hauptwache. We spontaneously popped in without a reservation because of the good reviews. The restaurant was already busy after 5 p.m., but we were lucky and got a table. What can I say? Simply outstanding, both the food and the service. You've won us over as regulars. Thank you so much! Whenever i ate sushi i always tried it without soyasauce first, just to see it it insists upon itself lol, more times than not it it tasted absolutely horrible and i had to spit out short after, this is however the first time, ever since i started eating sushi, that i finished an entire dish with Zero soya sace, ginger or wasabi, its made so perfectly, served so nice and warm, its definitely my new favorite and beats the old king ( sorry oppenheimer sushibar )

Delicious ramen! I got tonkotsu ramen with pork and egg for takeaway, it was amazing: the noodles, the soup, the toppings, everything. A bit on the pricier side, my order cost €17.3 They separate noodles, broth and toppings for takeaway orders which is very convenient. I would still opt for dine in option if possible, as its not very crowded (I went at 2pm) and the packaging does leak

Asked for a recommendation with a budget of 60€. Got a bill for 150€. 😡 -- In reply to the response below: We were indeed satisfied with everything, until we saw the bill. The order of events was as follows: 1. We first asked for recommendations. 2. After we got the recommendations, we double checked with the waiter that our budget was 30€ per person, for 2 persons. We trusted that whatever was being recommended was somewhat within that range. We didn't double check the prices in the menu. (After receiving the starter dish (which indeed looked quite fancy and was delicious), I even jokingly asked the waiter if that was all of our budget gone. He didn't respond to that concretely.) 3. When we paid at the cashier, we were presented with a ~150€ bill, out of which the one starter dish (6 pieces of Sashimi) was 60€ alone. It's hard to believe that this is based on a misunderstanding. And even if it was, I would have expected from the cashier that he would try to mitigate the situation after we pointed that out. Anyhow, maybe we should have insisted on the spot to talk with the waiter again to clarify things. It sure did leave a bitter taste after an otherwise pleasant experience and I think the situation should have been handled differently by the cashier.

Worst place in the world for sushi

A very cosy little sushi restaurant situated underground in the U-bahn station. The service was good. The food was absolutely good, better than the average sushi joint - but I don’t think the price is justified.

Everything was incredibly delicious

Tuna nigiri was good, rest of the food was normal/ok, nothing spectacular. What did blow my mind was the price. Insanely expensive and not worth it for the portion size and the location. I ordered a menu with 8 small pieces and 3 tuna nigiris with a 0,5l still water and paid 34 euros + the commission. There’s a 5% charge if you want to use a foreign credit card, FYI. Definitely not worth it and will never go back.

Small, delicious sushi, ramen, and dessert deli, hidden underground. The prices are a bit on the higher side, which I think is justified by the quality and presentation. When you sit at the counter, you can watch the artists at work creating the delicious sushi. The ramen was super tasty and beautifully fresh. You definitely won't leave hungry after dessert.

Tucked away in the subway station is the exquisite Takahumi Sushi restaurant. We were there with a stroller, and they made extra room for us. The service is very friendly and attentive. You can tell the chefs are passionate about their work. The food is outstanding and worth every penny. You can also find off-the-shelf sushi variations here. If you want to treat yourself, eat here. Unfortunately, Frankfurt is so far from Kiel, otherwise we would be here more often.

I understand the comments below! The sushi is very good. But although the place is small the service was not able to keep up. We where unlucky the place was full so service after 1 round of drinks was to slow. With these prices I don't wave anymore to the service I expect better! So waited 45 minutes and than walked out after paying the bill.

We visited this spot for ramen, but were pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of sushi on the menu as well. The café is uniquely located right inside the metro station, yet the atmosphere is surprisingly warm and cozy. You can sit at the counter and watch the chefs prepare sushi right in front of you — a nice touch! We went on a Monday, and unfortunately, only one type of noodle was available out of the usual three options for ramen. The waitress mentioned a few items were out of stock, which was a bit disappointing. Still, the ramen we had was delicious, and overall, it was a nice experience.

I didn't order anything there. The menu is unclear. The prices are above average. PS: I thank the owner for the sarcastic answer - if the menu was as eloquent, perhaps I would have ordered. Apparently, a clear menu is also an art, accessible to not everyone. The owner's answer itself speaks about his approach to customers.

A lovely little restaurant, located underground near the Zeil shopping center, with very friendly staff. I highly recommend the yakitori skewers! (They melt in your mouth, although it's not on the menu.) The sushi was fresh and beautifully presented. In the tuna combo platter, however, I would have preferred a bit less of the California rolls with siracha. The Kirin Ichiban draft beer was also very good. My companion also enjoyed the coconut dumplings for dessert.
