Quite expensive at the end. There was a flies so it was bad cause I didn’t want it to land on the sushi…bit annoying

Very tasty ramen, and the sushi is actually some of the best I've ever had. The atmosphere downstairs isn't exactly amazing, of course, but they made the most of it!

Who would have thought that tucked away in one of the entrances to the Hauptwache metro station in Frankfurt, you’d find a must-visit Japanese restaurant? A delightful surprise in such an unexpected location. Takahumi Sushi offers a menu that ranges from ultra-fresh sushi and sashimi to incredible bowls and deliciously flavorful ramen—all prepared with high-quality ingredients and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was outstanding. I’d come back to Frankfurt just to eat here again. The space is small and highly sought-after, so be sure to arrive early or make a reservation. Bonus tip: the place is pet-friendly. Extra tip: right next door, there's a pastry shop from the same owner, offering a variety of sweet and savory treats, along with an excellent tea selection. Enjoy your meal!

Very nice restaurant, great service and very good food, I can recommend it to anyone who comes to Frankfurt. Sushi and udon/frame noodles and Asian fusion dishes are offered. We had some sushi, udon and ramen with tonkotsu and beef each. It was really great.

Found this place by chance and decided to give it a try based on the reviews. The sushi is good but the ramen was a little overcooked. Service can be better especially the chefs at the sushi counter, can be more welcoming to non-german speaking tourists.

We read good things about the restaurant and the menu was also very appealing. Unfortunately, it is also very small and hidden underground. The navigation didn't help much, so we had to ask around. When we got there, despite our high expectations, we were even further surprised. Well, it's expensive. The cake stand cost €180. There are only the best and exclusive goods. Anyone who is not willing to pay that; There is also a supermarket nearby. ;-)

At five-star hotels or high-end restaurants in the city, you often have to pay a high price for the ‘pleasure of sight’ and the ‘place to be seen’. Food quality is often just a secondary factor. Takahumi Sushi is completely different from those places. We love sushi and ramen, and Takahumi is definitely at the top of our list! Exceptional quality, stylish design and creative construction – all elements come together perfectly. Each dish is like a work of art that can be enjoyed not only with the taste but also with the eyes. Above all, the biggest attraction is being able to see the chefs preparing the food. You can feel the sincerity and delicacy, and it makes you feel like you are in Japan. Just as many of Japan's great restaurants are hidden in inconspicuous alleys or underground, Takahumi Sushi is not located on the busy streets, but inside S-Bahn stations. But those who visit this hidden gem will be rewarded more than worth it. I'm already looking forward to seeing a new dessert cafe, Takahumi Pastry & Tea, opening next door. I can't wait for the sweet pleasures presented in Takahumi's unique style!

In any case, visually very unusual sushi variations. Simply well done. It doesn't actually get any better. The taste was very high quality, but for me personally the rice should have been a little bit softer and the avo was just a little bit too hard. The service was excellent. I found the atmosphere difficult. I couldn't find myself through the big window in the underground. The toilets were also not clean and unkempt. A must for a restaurant like this. The price was high for the look, but too expensive for the taste. I've had better sushi many times. I would choose another restaurant in the future.

The best food you'll ever have in an underground station! Absolutely incredible sushi, well worth the price, the actual ingredients had taste and flavour (unlike the average sushi places). We tried one with scallop on top and it was just incredible!!

A bit hidden and inconspicuous from the outside, but it tastes great! The sashimi melts in your mouth, everything is super fresh. Had the D4 Deluxe Bowl, highly recommended.

However, you can if you don't have budget problems. I went today, March 29th, 2025, because of the good reviews and once again I had to realize that the positive Google reviews in Frankfurt am Main have unfortunately become as inflationary as the Reichsmark in the Weimar Republic. Positive points: -The store's marketing is sensationally good. You get a first impression of quality and the presentation of the food is also top notch. -The service is very quick, polite and friendly. -Chicken karaage was delicious/recommended. -It's fun to watch the sushi masters prepare the food at the counter. Neutral: -The sushi is "good" with benevolence. That would still be completely OK, but the price charged for it suggests “very good” to “excellent”. However, that is not the case. I clearly see room for improvement in the quality of the raw materials. -With the octopus balls, the octopus was almost undetectable. -Both chairs at the counter were dirty with leftover food when we arrived and needed to be cleaned first. -The ramen was also "good" but for 19 euros it is in the "very good" range, which wasn't the case here either. In summary, I personally will not come again because I have to work too hard for my money and consider the price-performance ratio to be inadequate. I still urge the reader to try Takahumi Sushi to gain experience and form your own opinion. I understand the situation of restaurateurs, especially with a government that is hostile to business, but as a consumer I have to represent my interests and look for the maximum value for my money.

We go here regularly for lunch and always get a seat, the best sushi in town and incredibly good jasmine tea. Please keep it up, but please put the tip cat back on the checkout😉

I'm a guest pretty often and every time I'm thrilled. The freshness and quality of the food is top class. In my opinion, few well-respected restaurants can keep up. The employees are always super nice The creativity in every dish is truly remarkable. A 5 star rating is even not enough.

When you go down the stairs of the metro in front of Zara, it is on the left, we searched for it a lot, at least you don't. Sushi was delicious. My wife ate the sashimi and liked it very much. Small but pleasant environment. Menus are nice. The chefs are very skillful.

Go down to the subway next to Zara. It is very difficult to find it with navigation in the subway. Cem will welcome you. Experienced in Japanese cuisine. Salmon Sashimi, Unagi, Ebi roll, Ny roll...it was fresh and amazing. Mango and mochi dessert is also very good... Definitely go

The food was anything but tasty. The chicken in the chicken bowl was totally mushy and super greasy, which actually had nothing to do with chicken. Not even the rice was tasty and that should be the easiest thing to eat in an Asian restaurant. Unfortunately very disappointing…

Down in the underground station, the best Sashimi we’ve found in Frankfurt! Not too thick (unlike the 3 other places we tried), super fresh and tasty - the Salmon and Tuna in particular. Tempera as also not to thick and hard unlike other places. Wonderful, thank you!

The restaurant's stylish and modern design conveys a feeling of elegance without losing the traditional Japanese aesthetic. The quality of the sushi was absolutely outstanding. Every single roll was prepared with the utmost care and precision, and the freshness of the ingredients was clearly noticeable. The fish was buttery tender, perfectly cut and of first class quality. I would particularly like to highlight the selection of special creations that go far beyond what you would expect at your average sushi restaurant. The combinations of flavors and textures were perfectly balanced. The service was also exceptional. The staff was extremely friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Every question about the food was answered with patience and expertise, and recommendations were even made for suitable drinks that complemented the taste of the sushi wonderfully. Another highlight was the presentation of the food - each dish was a small work of art, prepared with great attention to detail. An unforgettable New Year’s Eve experience – a clear recommendation! I spontaneously reserved a table for New Year's Eve using the “OpenTable” app and the booking went smoothly. The restaurant is located right in downtown Frankfurt, which is why the MyZeil parking garage is ideal. From there it's about a 6 minute walk. However, a little adventure awaits you when you arrive: If you don't know the restaurant, you'll find yourself standing at the top of the street and wondering where exactly it is. The answer: You have to go down to the main guard station. This contrast – the rather uninviting surroundings of the Hauptwache and the stylish, elegant ambience of the restaurant – creates a very special atmosphere that I personally found to be very charming. Inside, the restaurant impresses with its stylish furnishings and an ambience that immediately creates a feel-good atmosphere. The service is excellent: the waitress is friendly, speaks perfect German, is attentive but never intrusive. The manager of the house was also present and proved to be extremely hospitable. Although the restaurant officially closes at 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve, we were allowed to stay until 9:45 p.m. so we didn't have to wait over an hour in the cold for our next reservation. Big praise for this flexibility and hospitality! Culinary highlights: • Baked Chicken Bowl: The portion was filling and the baked chicken was crispy, perfectly seasoned and not at all greasy. Absolutely convincing in terms of taste! • New York Rolls (Sushi Inside Out with Salmon and Avocado): The sushi was outstanding. The rice had a pleasant tenderness without appearing mushy - in terms of taste it was grade 1! • Dessert – Sweet rice with mango: The taste was great, but the portion was quite small. At a price of 8 euros I would have expected a little more. However, the taste here is also a grade 1. Of course, the prices are partly influenced by the central location, which is understandable. Conclusion: This restaurant is a real insider tip in Frankfurt. From the atmosphere to the service to the food – everything was consistently convincing. I can fully recommend this restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit!

It is located inside the subway/train station and therefore underground. High price range with some smaller solutions. Excellent quality and presentation of the dishes. Small but well presented place in the room, then towards the toilets it looks like a warehouse, the bathroom a disaster, everything broken. Of course I don't go to restaurants for the bathroom, but I believe that taking care of the environment matters, from the dishes to everything else.

We spontaneously visited Takahumi Sushi on a Friday evening and were lucky to get a spot. After a short wait, we were seated at the counter, offering a front-row view of the chefs preparing sushi. An experience as captivating to watch as it was delicious to eat! And we even received our sushi directly from the chefs, adding a personal and interactive touch to the experience. The staff is really friendly and attentive. Reservations are highly recommended for this popular spot. We ordered the Flying Salmon Roll, which was flambéed and full of rich, smoky flavor, and the Rainbow Roll, a beautifully arranged dish with various fresh fish toppings. The edible flowers, fresh herbs, and delicate garnishes added an artistic touch to the presentation, making the dish a feast for both the eyes and the palate. For dessert, we had crispy fried coconut rice balls, served with fresh berries and dusted with powdered sugar - really tasty. We also enjoyed a refreshing rose lemonade, served with berries and mint for a hint of sophistication. The menu at Takahumi Sushi offers an array of exquisite and creative sushi creations. Just browsing through the menu and their Instagram account is enough to spark ones imagination. On our next visit we want to explore more of their unique offerings. It's truly a must-visit for sushi lovers!

The best sushi in all of Frankfurt! I go there very often and everyone I take with me is without exception enthusiastic about the chef and his wonderful sushi creations! Also try the ramen soups! I tried just about everything on the menu and can promise that every single dish was well thought out and executed. Thank you for having the wonderful and extremely nice Takahumi team!

The overall experience was unsatisfactory. The ingredients are not fresh enough, especially the sea urchin does not taste like fresh sea urchin, and even has a bit of an off smell. The shrimp has a slightly fishy smell, and the salmon also has tendons that affect the taste. Although the presentation is exquisite, there are too many decorations and it looks too fancy.

I was so excited about the sushi on my first visit to Takahumi that I drove back to Frankfurt the following month to eat it again. It's super tasty and you can definitely taste the quality of the fish, unlike other sushi providers. The sushi melts in your mouth because the fish is so tender and fresh. The service is good and very nice, they even took our jackets from us and took them to the cloakroom. All in all, a great experience for sushi lovers!

This is a gem that is quintessentially Frankfurt. Inside the subway station you will find one of the city’s best Japanese restaurants. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive. Do yourself a favour and accept their recommendations, you will thoroughly enjoy them. Don’t skip the nigiri! The eel was particularly tasty. The only downside is the size, which might at times make it feel a little crowded. But I honestly think it adds to the experience.

Always new and not everyday. We have known the owner and his team for several years and it is always something special to eat here. The ambience speaks for itself, if you want to visit a run-of-the-mill sushi restaurant, this is the wrong place. Here you can watch how the dishes are prepared freshly and individually with great attention to detail and you can not only see this quality and freshness, but also taste it. The owner and his team are happy to accommodate any requests and you are always recommended something new. For us, no other restaurant comes into question when it comes to sushi.
