DO NOT EVER GO HERE! So RUDE, no manner, the service was HORRIBLE, the sushi had that rotten fishy smell, ice cold nigiri.. i was still holding up my spoon eating and the woman brought us the bill, we were STILL EATING! and they werent busy and the restaurant wasnt even full. The most unpleasant restaurant experience i ever had!!!!

An absolute must for sushi lovers in Frankfurt! I went to Mikunk Sushi for the first time yesterday and I was simply thrilled. The quality of the sushi is incredible - super fresh ingredients, perfectly prepared and incredibly tasty. You can immediately tell that real professionals are at work here. The service was also great: friendly, attentive and totally relaxed. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Mikunk Sushi is definitely my new favorite sushi spot in Frankfurt! Be sure to make a reservation, the store is rightly busy!

Visually, this Japanese restaurant is not an eye-catcher. But the quality of the food and especially the sushi is exceptional. Sushi doesn't need to be drowned in wasabi and soy sauce if it's made right. Then it tastes good even without these clubs. Definitely a tip for anyone who wants to have high-quality, good sushi.

I had the top sushi. The set of 8 pieces of nigiri and tekkamaki was very delicious. Next time, I would like to order an additional nigiri of your choice.

The food is good but not spectacular. Parking is a problem. Plan about 45 minutes to find a spot in a parking garage. This is important because if you arrive within 30 minutes of closing you will not be able to order. I came for the Oyakodon, but this is not on the normal menu and they didn’t have it today. The sushi is better than average for a run of the mill restaurant. The Katsudon was good but short on meat and heavy on rice. The tempura was cooked extremely well and the shrimp tempura was delicious.

A centrally located small restaurant near the Konstablerwache. Nice and fast service. There was tea brought straight to the table. The lunch offer (including miso soup) is definitely recommended. Gladly again.

Always worth a visit! Busy, bustling, wonderful authentic Athmosphere, food and service. Take "The Menue" and enjoy!

Very very tasty sushi. You won't find any pictures on the menu. But the friendly service helped.

Incredibly unfriendly staff! We were “warned off” in the most outrageous way after we had reserved for 7 and mentioned it when we arrived; that under certain circumstances an 8th person would join us. (The 8th person, mind you, NOT to eat, but just to sit with us!!) We were reproached “as we have often experienced, that they did not meet the agreed Number of people would be kept!! We then went out to eat. I've never experienced anything like that. Will NEVER go there AGAIN. I can only STRONGLY advise anyone who wants to experience a COZY evening with friendly staff!!

Feels authentic, food is fresh and very tasty!

Amazing quality sushi, fattest tuna - you have to try. Grilled octopus is a poem. The waiter was amazingly attentive and pleasant, we had a wonderful dinner. I will return on the next travel to Frankfurt.

I am a Spanish novel writer who lives in Iceland. I am visiting Frankfurt for the first time. I expected much more from this Japanese restaurant. It is undoubtedly run by a Japanese family and the chefs are almost octogenarians, but the fish was not at the right level: texture and flavor. The service is friendly but slow

A guest at Mikuni for over 40 years, the quality of the sushi has not changed over the decades, simply excellent. Even if it sounds strange, the outdated inventory has its charm, hopefully nothing will be changed anytime soon. When you step through the door you have arrived in Japan.

Best Japanese restaurant i have ever been to outside Asia. Extensive menu, which makes it rather difficult to choose from, but the friendly staff will help you. Not a fancy place, all time and money is spend in great food.

Unfortunately we were sent away because we were there with a dog (toy poodle). Very disappointed. This has never happened to us in any restaurant, not even in other Japanese/sushi restaurants.

I visited in June last year (2023), but the review was not posted. I had chirashisi and the freshness and taste of the raw fish were good, but I was disappointed with the filling and egg roll. I thought that with this configuration, it would have to be 5 to 10 euros cheaper to go again. I don't know if it has changed now. The older woman was friendly, but she didn't say anything because she wasn't fluent in German. Wow😅 Even though the large seat by the window was empty, the young male server refused to give me that seat, saying he had a reservation... In the end, the place was still empty when we left. In order to attract customers, the seats visible from the outside had to be full... but it was a pity.

Authentic and high quality Japanese food. Sushi is exceptional, one of the best in Germany, I suppose. Highly recommend!

Lovely place with authentic Japanese cuisine

I've been going there for 25 years (i.e. since I was born) and have been eating there since I was allowed to eat raw fish. I love that the food there is traditional and authentic as well as the decor. You just have this feeling there, like you're eating in a restaurant in Japan. Here you learn/see that Japanese cuisine doesn't just consist of sushi. It's always an experience to eat there and I always tell friends about it when we talk about sushi. I was able to take one of my closest friends there with me and was impressed by the quality and authenticity. The quality of the food is simply top! The fact that many Japanese people always eat there is a sign of the good quality and authenticity of the food. If you want to know what really traditional/authentic Japanese cuisine is, you should definitely eat there.

The best sushi I have eaten in Germany so far. No comparison to the frozen sushi that is now sold in every Asian bistro. Be sure to eat at the counter for an authentic feeling.

The best sushi restaurant in Frankfurt.

We had the menu, the quality of the fish dishes was top, but there were only two mini courses. Overall it was way too little, for €58! Afterwards we made ourselves something to eat at home. No children's chair and no children's menu. 2.5 hours in the restaurant with 5 extremely small courses is too long, especially with a small child. At least the ambience would be outstanding, but no, it's reminiscent of a canteen, completely carelessly and tastelessly furnished. The service was unfriendly, inflexible and overwhelmed. It's a shame, we were looking forward to a great evening and left with a high bill, hungry and disappointed.

Sushi was amazing! The best I ever ate in Frankfurt. Fried octopus was not that great. Very nice and relaxed atmosphere.

Sushi was okay. In addition to sushi, we also ordered grilled mushrooms, fried chicken, tempura and tofu. They're pretty boring.

Ramen was tasty but only a few ingredients. However, there is only ramen made from fish broth. Sushi also tasted very good. The furnishings are very reduced.

We really enjoyed our dinner. I highly recommend the "test plate" sushi, all of them are SO worthy. You can feel the Japanese vibes everywhere and the service was really nice and welcoming. It is a lil bit pricey, but the quality is unbeatable.

I went without a reservation and asked for a table for one. At that time there were only two guests at a table and not all seats were reserved. I was still told that they couldn't serve me and before I could say thank you and say goodbye, the next guest was hurriedly greeted.

My husband and I ate at Bikuni today. It reminded me of my time in Japan. The quality of the food was good, as you know at lunchtime in Japan. The price is appropriate. Next time I will definitely try the sushi.

I've been here before. Today I tried the lunch menu and it is super tasty and the value for money is simply great!! If you would come at lunchtime, it would be better to reserve a table.

The atmosphere is catastrophic! The place definitely needs a renovation! The service was very nice and we were greeted very friendly with free tea. However, the food was very, very bad!! We ordered a soup (€12.50) which was very small and tasted almost like nothing. Tonkatsu on rice with egg (16.50) was also terrible! The rice was soggy, the egg was rather raw, the breading from the meat was soggy. The meat itself is hard. You can probably eat sushi, but not everything else. Unfortunately

Very tasty sushi. Japanese ambience

Unfortunately can’t recommend. We came for a lunch, and ordered both an udon soup as a lunch offer which costed about 11 euros each but it tasted not nice like some fish stuff with only udon noodles inside that supposed to cost less than 2 euros in the store next to them. Very frustrated to pay for it more than 20 euros and as a part of the lunch deal. On top of that we had to wait for a really long time for the waitress to come to whom we can pay after we asked twice. Overall, it was not nice, and we had to go home and cook lunch one more time.

Excellent range of fish, great quality and many authentic starters and side dishes. Some of the interior was very authentic with a sushi counter and tatami room. The rest was a bit too bright and like a canteen. Quite pricey though.

Authentic Japanese food. Very delicious. Got the Tokujo Sushi, and a small salad. The sushi was so good. The salad dressing (soy sauce based) was a bit addictive. Wish they sold the salad dressing!

I am often not sure whether some Japanese restaurants are really Japanese restaurants or just Asian restaurants. There is no doubt that this is a real Japanese store. They taste great and are not expensive at all. But the hygiene in the basement and bathroom is a bit bad.

The food is delicious. However, I found it very unpleasant that Mr. Itamae was shouting abuse at the male employee behind the counter. I want them to realize that there are many Japanese people and customers who can understand Japanese. Also, think about the feelings of people who eat while listening to such dirty words.

In my opinion one of the best sushi spots in Frankfurt. I had the large platter already put together and was thrilled with both the quality and the quantity. You will be introduced to the individual types of sushi in great detail and can watch them being prepared. The only criticism is that you have to wait longer to be served.

Ein Sushi Meister, der sein Handwerk versteht und alles richtig gemacht hat. Jede einzelne Nigiri und Maki, jeder einzelne Biss ist pure Magie. Mikuni ist nichts anderes als Essen in seiner schönsten Form.

Das Essen hat großartig geschmeckt, auch der Service war toll, das Ambiente hingegen hat ein wenig zu wünschen übrig gelassen.

You feel in Japan as soon as you walk in and hear “Irashaimase”. I love this place, it’s like eating at someone’s house in Japan. Great food, great staff and just a wonderful experience. One of the best jap places I’ve been to in Europe.

Ordered the omakase here and it was absolutely authentic and delicious. Very worth the price! Make sure you have a reservation ahead of time for dinner. Otherwise, you’ll have to try walking in at their opening time. Will come again!

I have been eating at Mikuni for a quarter of a century now. The Sushi and Sashimi are top fresh and the number of pieces you get for Sashimi ( between 18 and 22 pieces depending on the cut the chefs make in daily form ) for the same price, you will not get it anywhere else in Frankfurt City. The service crew as well as the Chefs owners are extremely polite and friendly. It located near the Frankfurter Dom, the Museum of Modern Art, Kleinmarkthalle, Zeil, and the newly created Altstadt. A must visit Japanese restaurant when you look for a place where you can eat delicious, generous portions with friendly atmosphere in Frankfurt city. Then Mikuni is the place for you. 🉐

Zweifellos eines der authentischsten japanischen Restaurants außerhalb Japans in dem ich bislang gegessen habe. Ob Sushi, Tempura, Sashimi oder Nudeln - alles ist von sehr guter Qualität und richtig schmackhaft. Bedienung ist stets freundlich und aufmerksam und die Preise der Qualität angemessen.

This is still my favorite Japanese restaurant in Frankfurt. Fabulous Sushi. The lunch menu Sushi is particularly good value. Make sure to call ahead to make a reservation since this restaurant is rather small and easily fully booked.

Eines, wenn nicht das älteste japanische Restaurant in Frankfurt. Es macht immer wieder große Freude hier zu Essen. Mit den alten Resopal Tischen kommt man sich ein wenig in die 70/80er Jahre zurück versetzt vor.

Traditional original Japanese food and sushi is highly recommended. It is a bit expensive but worth the price. Very delicious, friendly and kind service. I was lucky to sit there without reservation but you should do a reservation because they didn’t let 2 people after me.

Eines der ältesten Sushi 🍣 Restaurants Frankfurt. Einfache Einrichtung, bester Fisch. Sensationell . Bitte Handys wegstecken. Es hängen 5 Schilder mit Handyverbot. ich find's gut.

Sehr authentisches japanisches Lokal mit sehr frischen und guten Gerichten. Das Sushi mit Lachs war das frischeste, das ich wirklich je hatte. Es war alles sehr lecker. Die Kellner waren auch sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Einziges Manko wirklich sehr hochpreisig und sehr sehr kleine Portionen. Natürlich erwartet man beim Japaner keine All-you-can-eat Kultur aber man hätte sich doch für den Preis etwas mehr gewünscht.

Das Sushi war sehr gut und die Bedienung extrem freundlich, er hat uns alles erklärt und Empfehlungen ausgesprochen. Lediglich die Lokalität, auch wenn sie in einem authentischen Stil gehalten ist, könnte in der Preisklasse einige Verschönerungen vertragen.

Such an authentic place! Sashimi is so fresh and definitely worth to try. One of the best Japanese restaurants in Germany and i will definitely come back once im in Frankfurt again;)
