Ein sehr traditionelles und hochwertiges japanisches Restaurant. Wir hatten Tempura und Sushi – beides war sehr frisch und lecker. Reservieren Sie unbedingt mindestens drei Tage im Voraus, wenn Sie freitags oder am Wochenende essen möchten. Die Öffnungszeiten könnten etwas länger sein – ansonsten perfekt.

Mikuni ist definitiv eines meiner liebsten authentischen japanischen Restaurants in Frankfurt. Die Qualität des Fisches ist hervorragend, man merkt, dass er perfekt gereift ist. Auch alles andere auf der Speisekarte ist durchweg köstlich, was das Restaurant zu einer verlässlichen Wahl für ein gelungenes Essen macht. Wenn Sie mittags dort sind, empfehle ich Ihnen unbedingt das Tagesmenü – es bietet ein ausgezeichnetes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Allerdings muss ich erwähnen, dass der Service etwas unangenehm sein kann, da die Angestellten sehr auf Trinkgeld aus sind. Obwohl das Essen erstklassig ist, hat dieser Aspekt des Services einen etwas negativen Eindruck hinterlassen.

Sehr vielfältiges und authentisches japanisches Essen. Hier gibt es japanische Köche und Mitarbeiter und auch Japaner suchen dieses Restaurant gerne aus. Leider gab es Sake haubtsächlich nur in ganze Flaschen und nur 2 Sorten in 300 ml zu bestellen.

Am Telefon, um zu reservieren. Schwer verständlich. Wir einigten uns auf einen Tisch. Als ich meinen Namen nannte, hieß es plötzlich, es gäbe keinen Tisch, nur Bar. Später gingen wir an dem relativ leeren Restaurant vorbei. Warum sagte er mir, es gäbe keinen Tisch? Das fühlt sich … an.

Wir haben Mittags um 13 Uhr ohne Reservierung einen Platz an der Sushi-Theke bekommen. Das Sushi ist etwas teuerer, aber es ist seinen Preis wert. Die Qualität und der Geschmack waren sehr gut! Zum Mittagessen bekommen man einen kostenlosen grünen Tee, eine kleine Miso-Suppe und zwei kleine Beilagen (eine Art Gemüse). Im Restaurant herrscht eine sehr angenehme und ruhige Stimmung.

Mittags-Sushi inklusive Miso Suppe und grünem Tee, Sushi frisch vor einem zubereitet mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Tolle „authentische“ Atmosphäre mit der seitens des Inhabers aufgestellten Bitte um handyfreie Zone. Sehr angenehm!

Wer auf der Suche nach echtem japanischem Flair ist, wird hier definitiv fündig. Das Restaurant besticht durch eine unglaublich authentische Atmosphäre, die einen sofort vergessen lässt, dass man sich gerade nicht in Tokio befindet. ​Essen & Portionen: Die Qualität der Speisen ist hervorragend – man schmeckt die Liebe zum Detail und die Frische der Zutaten in jedem Bissen. Es ist geschmacklich absolut erstklassig. Ein wichtiger Hinweis für Hungrige: Die Portionen sind eher klein gehalten. Es empfiehlt sich, entweder mehrere Gänge zu bestellen oder das Ganze eher als „Izakaya-Stil“ (viele kleine Teller zum Teilen) zu begreifen. ​Fazit: Kein Ort für den riesigen Hunger zum kleinen Preis, aber ein absolutes Muss für Feinschmecker und Japan-Liebhaber, die Wert auf Qualität und ein stimmiges Ambiente legen.

Ich war heute zum ersten Mal in diesem Restaurant. Ich hatte mich sehr darauf gefreut und war deshalb sehr enttäuscht. Mir wurde das Tagesgericht empfohlen, also habe ich es bestellt, aber es schmeckte wie Tiefkühlkost. Ich bestellte auch Sushi, aber es war überhaupt nicht lecker. Ich glaube, ich könnte in anderen japanischen Restaurants viel besseres Sushi essen. Schließlich wollte ich bezahlen. Ich habe mit Karte bezahlt, aber sie verlangten Trinkgeld. Wäre ich in ein anderes Restaurant gegangen, hätte ich vielleicht Trinkgeld gegeben. Ich finde, Trinkgeld gibt man als Zeichen der Wertschätzung, wenn man mit dem Service, dem Essen, dem Ambiente usw. zufrieden ist. Also habe ich abgelehnt. Die Angestellte (eine ältere Dame), die die Zahlung entgegennahm, wirkte daraufhin etwas verärgert und bedankte sich nicht einmal. Obwohl ich kein Trinkgeld gegeben hatte, musste ich trotzdem bezahlen. Ich war am Ende noch einmal enttäuscht. Ich werde nie wieder dorthin gehen und hoffe, dass das Restaurant wieder geschlossen wird.

Das ist immer noch mein Lieblingsjapaner in Frankfurt. Fantastisches Sushi! Das Sushi vom Mittagsmenü bietet ein besonders gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Da das Restaurant recht klein und schnell ausgebucht ist, empfiehlt sich eine Reservierung.

Qualitativ mit das beste Sushi in Frankfurt, frischer Fisch, gut abgestimmte Portionen, sehr nett und authentische Küche. Das Ambiente ist nicht gehoben, allerdings kommt es darauf im Mikuni nicht an. Die Qualität überzeugt. Aufgeräumt, uhrig, einladend, freundlich und bei der Auswahl hilfbereit. Sehr empfehlenswert. Reservierung ist ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen.

Sieht aus wie Hölle, schmeckt wie Himmel! In meinen Berufsanfängen (1976 bis 1986) war ich Schreibkraft, später Sekretärin bei der Wertpapierberatung einer deutschen Großbank, Ressort Ausland, Spezialgebiet Japan. Meine Chefs gingen in der Mittagspause mindestens 2 mal im Monat die 1,5 km vom Jürgen-Ponto-Platz in 20 Minuten zur Fahrgasse, weil es da angabegemäß die authentischsten japanischen Speisen in Frankfurt gibt. Ich kann den Kollegen, die beruflich bedingt häufig nach Japan reisten und auch japanische Gäste bei uns empfingen (ich nahm oft kleine Mäntel zum Aufhängen entgegen) auch heute noch absolut zustimmen. Vermutlich hat sich wirklich nichts geändert: Typ schnörkelloses Bahnhofsrestaurant mit gut abwischbaren Tischen (Kunststoffbezug), alten Stühlen (von allerdings keiner wackelte) und bequemen gepolsterten Kunstlederbänken. Die Servicekräfte waren heute Mittag außerordentlich freundlich und flott. Auch wenn es sprachlich ein wenig haperte. Die Dame wußte nicht, welches Weißbier im Angebot ist. Auf Nachfrage sagte sie „Franziskaner“, mein Gatte war begeistert (nur 5 €, allerdings war es ein Kristall-Weizen, naja). Beim Weißwein wird auch nicht unterschieden, aber 0,25 l zu 7,00 € war echt günstig. Warmer Sake 14 cl Euro 6,50 (der hatte wohl durchaus „Umdrehungen)- Mittags-Sashimi mit verschiedenem Fisch 27,00 €. Tori Tatsuta (marinierte frittierte Hähnchenteile, dagegen kann kein bayrisch-österreichisches Backhendl konkurrieren) 6,50 €. Da zum Mittagsmenu (wir ahnten gar nicht, dass wir darunter fallen) ein Pott leckerer grüner Tee (schmeckte gar nicht so sehr nach Heu), Algen-Gurken-Salat und eine Art Kimchi auf kleinen Tellerchen gereicht wurde, erfreute uns umso mehr. Kein Wunder, dass nach über 45 Jahren die Bude immer noch voll ist.

Ich war noch nie in Japan, doch ich glaube jetzt war ich es! Das Ambiente in dem Restaurant ist der Wahnsinn. Das Essen: WOW! Zwar etwas teuer, aber seinen Preis völlig Wert! Meine Empfehlung: chirashi mit einem kalten Calpis! Und zur Vorspeise den frittierten oder eingelegten Tintenfisch

Seit Jahrzehnten eines meiner absoluten Lieblingsrestaurants! Ich komme mir immer ein bisschen vor wie in einer Zeitkapsel wenn ich dort bin. Das Ambiente hat sich seit meinem ersten Besuch überhaupt nicht verändert, die Sushi-Köche sind noch die gleichen, das Essen war und ist immer auf einem sehr hohen Niveau und die Preise sind der Qualität angemessen. Die Bedienung hat zwar im Laufe der Zeit öfter einmal gewechselt, ist aber immer sehr höflich und zuvorkommend. Es ist bestimmt nicht das schickste Restaurant, aber zu 100% authentisch und man fühlt sich ein bisschen wie in Japan. Ich hoffe, dieses Restaurant gibt es noch lange!

Wir sind heute Abend fassungslos und mit schwerem Herzen nach Hause gegangen. Seit meiner Kindheit – seit über 30 Jahren – sind wir treue Stammgäste in diesem Haus und haben hier unzählige schöne Stunden verbracht. Heute sollte ein ganz besonderer Höhepunkt folgen: Wir wollten den 70. Geburtstag meines Vaters hier feiern. ​Trotz rechtzeitiger Reservierung wurde uns vor Ort mitgeteilt, dass kein Eintrag im Buch zu finden sei. Anstatt in dieser Situation eine Lösung für ein langjähriges Geburtstagskind zu suchen, wurden wir einfach weggeschickt. Keine Bemühung, keine Wiedergutmachung, kein Funken Empathie. ​Es ist eine bodenlose Frechheit, wie hier mit jahrzehntelanger Loyalität umgegangen wird. Einen Ehrentag so zu ruinieren, ist menschlich wie professionell einfach nur traurig. Nach über 30 Jahren war dies heute definitiv unser letzter Besuch.

Frisch aus dem Japan-Urlaub sind wir ins Mikuni. Toller Laden und Service. Authentisches Interieur. War wie als ob wir wieder in Japan wären. Top.

Ich bin zwar kein Kenner, aber das Sushi hat sehr authentisch und lecker geschmeckt. So gut hatte ich es selten. Die Udon Suppe war ebenfalls ausgezeichnet. Kann ich ganz klar weiterempfehlen.

Ich hatte das Mikuni Menü, von vorn bis hinten ein wunderschönes Erlebnis! Der rohe Fisch, ob Sashimi, Nigiri oder Maki, war perfekt 🤩 Zudem keine Musik im Laden und ein tolle Einrichtung, nicht mit anderen Restaurants zu vergleichen

Der Fisch war, wie wir ihn in Erinnerung hatten, sehr gut, daran gab es nichts auszusetzen. Leider lässt sich das Gleiche nicht vom Personal behaupten. Nicht alle waren höflich – einige waren sogar recht unfreundlich. Ich habe auch Zweifel an den angegebenen „Sitzplatzregeln“ für Gäste, die auf der Gruppengröße basieren (vorreservierter Tisch); in der Praxis entpuppte sich das wohl nur als Ausrede.

Also das Essen war wirklich top aber preislich hatte es mich schon etwas geschockt. 🤣 Über 60 Euro für das Sushi auf dem Bild sowie die Suppe ist nicht gerade günstig. Sie hatten auch gerade an dem Tag eine neue Karte, d. h. wohl neue Preise. Der Service war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Ein wunderschöner Ort mit fantastischem, frischem Sushi! Ich würde auf jeden Fall wieder hingehen.

Das beste japanische Restaurant in Deutschland. Falls Sie kein Fan von Rohkost sind, probieren Sie unbedingt Donburi und Sake Don. Wir waren mit allen Gerichten, die wir bestellt hatten, sehr zufrieden.

Ich hätte nie gedacht, dass ich einmal eine negative Bewertung für Mikuni schreiben würde, mein langjähriges Lieblingsrestaurant. Die Qualität der 40 Euro teuren Sushi-Platte, die früher jeden Euro wert war, hat leider stark nachgelassen. Da sowohl die Qualität als auch die Frische des Fisches beeinträchtigt sind, werde ich wohl nicht wiederkommen.

Ich hatte mich sehr auf den Besuch dieses Restaurants gefreut, nachdem es mir ein Freund empfohlen hatte, war aber vom Service extrem enttäuscht. Zunächst einmal gab es weder beim Betreten noch beim Verlassen des Restaurants eine Begrüßung wie „Willkommen“ oder „Danke“; der Service wirkte fast roboterhaft. Besonders unangenehm war, dass mir beim Bezahlen der ausdruckslose Mitarbeiter den Beleg hinwarf, als wolle er ihn mit einer Hand hinwerfen. Ich hatte höflichen Service erwartet und kann diese Einstellung daher nicht nachvollziehen. Das Essen mag zwar lecker gewesen sein, aber der Service hat alles ruiniert. Die Toiletten waren zudem schmutzig und sehr unhygienisch. Als japanischer Gast war ich sehr enttäuscht. Ich hoffe wirklich, dass sie sich verbessern. Ich bin selbst Japaner. Aufgrund einer Empfehlung meines Freundes habe ich mich sehr auf meinen Besuch gefreut, war jedoch vom Service enttäuscht. In Japan unter Japanern undenkbar. Diese Art der Interaktion empfand ich als sehr respektlos. ist. Darüber hinaus war die Toilette schmutzig und unhygienisch. ​Ich war als japanischer Gast sehr enttäuscht. Wir haben für das Essen schnell 200 Euro bezahlt. Ich hoffe auf eine Verbesserung des Service.

Durch Zufall sind wir hier gelandet und werden auch zu Wiederholungstätern. Typisch eingerichtet. Ganz schlicht und einfach. Aber sauber und ordentlich. Der Servic sehr freundlich lustig und absolut Aufmerksam. Das Essen - wir haben 2x das Menü gewählt - war frisch und lecker. So macht Essen Spaß. Achtung, eventuell reservieren, zumindest zur Mittagszeit.

Sehr lecker, waren bereits mehrmals hier speisen. Diesmal Samstags und es war wieder toll gewesen. Einmal Tagesmenü und einmal Sushimenü diesmal. Im Vergleich zu manch anderen Sushi-Restaurants in Frankfurt, sind die Nigiri nicht so wenig mit Fisch sondern "japanisch" belegt, wie in Urlaub. D.h. der Fisch obendrauf bedeckt nicht nur gleich oder kleiner als der darunter geformte Sushireis, sondern etwas ausladender. Frisch sind die auch noch! Lecker!

The sake-don was refreshing. The katsu-don was a bit salty, and the udon noodles were a bit too chewy. The service was good, but the restaurant was a bit messy. It would be nice if it was more organized.

The food is fantastic! However, the ambiance is just as bad as the service. We still enjoy going there, though; the food makes up for everything.

I visited for lunch on a Saturday and was able to enter without a reservation. It's been a while since I've had a Japanese tempura bowl! My wife ordered tempura soba and the kids ordered udon, which also looked delicious. You can enjoy Japanese food at a reasonable price for lunch.

If you're looking for high-quality Japanese food in Frankfurt, this is the place to go. The place is small and very quiet, and the decision to ban cell phones inside is commendable. The food is incredibly fresh and freshly prepared. I really admired the chef, an older gentleman who prepares delicacies at the counter with exceptional care and passion. And of course, I thoroughly enjoyed my order (sushi and tempura). I think Mikuni will be a regular stop on my next visit to Frankfurt.

Indeed, it's been a sushi institution for many years, and rightfully so. Personally, I haven't had a better one in Frankfurt. But the other dishes are also very good (e.g., egg-fried rice with chicken and tonkatsu). You feel completely at home, and the service is very attentive and friendly.

It was so nice to be able to eat chirashi! There were many different kinds and the amount of rice was large, so I ate until I was full!

Feels like the real Japan. The two most experienced japanese chefs prepare your Sashimi right in front of you, when seated at the counter. Service is immaculate and in full japanese tradition. Amazing place, glad to recommend it for a quick escape to Japan. Felt like being teleported.

Mikuni offers authentic Japanese cuisine with the renowned Japanese courteous and friendly service. The restaurant is always busy, which shows how popular it is. It's definitely a restaurant I enjoy visiting regularly.

Our favorite Japanese restaurant. Friendly service, delicious food (we always choose the Mikuni menu), and an authentic atmosphere... which is unfortunately a bit dated. But that doesn't bother us, because the rest of the food is really very good. Also worth mentioning is the large selection of rice wines.

Lovely and quiet Japanese restaurant. My first time here and I was quite happy dining here. 1. We ordered some apertizers: cold silky tofu with Katsuobushi (tuna skipjack), sweet and sour octopus with Wakame (kelp) and grilled Shiitake and all came with great taste. 2. Following was salmon and tuna sashimi which was in big portion, I just love having a lean tuna piece after a fatty salmon one. Wasabi was not really enough since I'm a wasibi lover. 3. Sushi: somehow I felt that the sushi that day wasn't that good. The rice was loose and quite dry. My kids still enjoyed sushi platte. Overall, it was a nice experience. They have a display corner for an ordinary Japanese household which is cool. Staff and the sushi masters are friendly and polite.

I visited on a weekday at noon. All of the sushi items were delicious and I was grateful for each and every one. The sushi served with salted lemon was the best! The fatty tuna was also delicious. The shop had a calm atmosphere and I had a good time, so I would definitely like to visit again.

Japanese taste Mr. Itamae is two Japanese people. There are many other Japanese people as well. The ingredients are fresh, and the sushi rice has just the right amount of seasoning. It was a seafood bowl that you can normally eat in Japan. Clearing the average standard in Japan means that it is a luxury store in a foreign country. It was a nice lunch that was easy on my stomach tired of German food.

The food is very tasty and good. The setup works because I care about the food on the plate, in front of my nose and in my mouth. The restaurant is recommended although a little expensive. Reservations are also recommended.

I think this is one of the few authentic sushi restaurants in Germany. I've passed by many times, but this was my first visit. I ordered chirashi, and all of the toppings were very delicious, and the dashimaki was also very delicious. It goes well with vinegared rice. I think the chirashi cost about 23 euros, but other set meals cost about 15 euros. I think it's worth it if you can eat delicious food in this city. It's also nice that it comes with tea. I would also like to try other dishes.

Mikuni is a very traditional restaurant. The wooden furnishings are typically Japanese and very minimalist. Conversations may only be conducted at an appropriate volume and cell phones must be switched off. The focus is completely on the food, which I really welcome. The sushi is sorted by price depending on the quality of the fish. MaSomit there is a selection for almost every budget. You can also take everything to go. The older men at the counter prepare the sushi with passion and experience. Absolutely recommended for sushi lovers!

Authentic Japanese cuisine and atmosphere at fair prices

I've never been to Japan, but in my opinion it's the best sushi around at a fair price. I love it and actually always go there when I'm in Frankfurt. Tip: lunch on Thursday is the cheapest ;)

I use it often. We recommend the occasional horse mackerel nigiri, the occasional Japanese vegetable tempura, the usual fried horse mackerel, the usual soup, fried toritatsuta, and sashimi. Next time I plan to try Tenzaru (19.50 EUR) in the summer. We recommend that you make a reservation by phone in advance.

This is the best sushi in Ppu. The raw fish tastes good and the rice is seasoned just enough. The other dishes are generally bland, but they taste like home cooking and are delicious.

A must-visit Japanese restaurant when you go to Pupu! I went to Ppu three times and had dinner each time (without a reservation). Be sure to go, definitely, definitely, definitely Sushi is really delicious!! I don’t like pork cutlet..^^

The two of us ate at Mikuni and started by ordering two green teas, agedashi tofu and agedashi nasu (eggplant) because we love the sauce. It is a kind of boiled down soy sauce with dashi and has incredible delicious taste and lots of umami. After that we focused on sushi. Each nigiri/maki was prepared with high quality ingredients and with great detail in front of us as we sat at the counter. Our personal favorites were: Hamachi (yellowtail), Hotate (scallop) nigiri and Kanpyo Maki (pickled pumpkin maki). In between we ordered a warm sake and drank it while we waited for the next round of nigiri. The atmosphere is very warm and authentic and we are already looking forward to the next time we have the opportunity to eat at Mikuni! 🧡

Landed there by chance today but have walked past it countless times without noticing it. What can I say? We are thrilled. A very special little restaurant. I really love everything about it. Food is excellent. We are home happily. I'll be back. Very soon!

DO NOT EVER GO HERE! So RUDE, no manner, the service was HORRIBLE, the sushi had that rotten fishy smell, ice cold nigiri.. i was still holding up my spoon eating and the woman brought us the bill, we were STILL EATING! and they werent busy and the restaurant wasnt even full. The most unpleasant restaurant experience i ever had!!!!

An absolute must for sushi lovers in Frankfurt! I went to Mikunk Sushi for the first time yesterday and I was simply thrilled. The quality of the sushi is incredible - super fresh ingredients, perfectly prepared and incredibly tasty. You can immediately tell that real professionals are at work here. The service was also great: friendly, attentive and totally relaxed. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Mikunk Sushi is definitely my new favorite sushi spot in Frankfurt! Be sure to make a reservation, the store is rightly busy!

Visually, this Japanese restaurant is not an eye-catcher. But the quality of the food and especially the sushi is exceptional. Sushi doesn't need to be drowned in wasabi and soy sauce if it's made right. Then it tastes good even without these clubs. Definitely a tip for anyone who wants to have high-quality, good sushi.

I had the top sushi. The set of 8 pieces of nigiri and tekkamaki was very delicious. Next time, I would like to order an additional nigiri of your choice.

A centrally located small restaurant near the Konstablerwache. Nice and fast service. There was tea brought straight to the table. The lunch offer (including miso soup) is definitely recommended. Gladly again.

The food is good but not spectacular. Parking is a problem. Plan about 45 minutes to find a spot in a parking garage. This is important because if you arrive within 30 minutes of closing you will not be able to order. I came for the Oyakodon, but this is not on the normal menu and they didn’t have it today. The sushi is better than average for a run of the mill restaurant. The Katsudon was good but short on meat and heavy on rice. The tempura was cooked extremely well and the shrimp tempura was delicious.

Always worth a visit! Busy, bustling, wonderful authentic Athmosphere, food and service. Take "The Menue" and enjoy!

Incredibly unfriendly staff! We were “warned off” in the most outrageous way after we had reserved for 7 and mentioned it when we arrived; that under certain circumstances an 8th person would join us. (The 8th person, mind you, NOT to eat, but just to sit with us!!) We were reproached “as we have often experienced, that they did not meet the agreed Number of people would be kept!! We then went out to eat. I've never experienced anything like that. Will NEVER go there AGAIN. I can only STRONGLY advise anyone who wants to experience a COZY evening with friendly staff!!

Feels authentic, food is fresh and very tasty!

Amazing quality sushi, fattest tuna - you have to try. Grilled octopus is a poem. The waiter was amazingly attentive and pleasant, we had a wonderful dinner. I will return on the next travel to Frankfurt.

The food overall is a bit bland, but the taste is okay. But the green tea was really strong and delicious!

best sushi/sashimi in town, hands down. The rice is fluffy, light and seasoned just right, and the quality of the fish, I mean you can't get better than that. We ordered both Jo-sashimi and Jo-sushi set, every single piece is amazing.

I am a Spanish novel writer who lives in Iceland. I am visiting Frankfurt for the first time. I expected much more from this Japanese restaurant. It is undoubtedly run by a Japanese family and the chefs are almost octogenarians, but the fish was not at the right level: texture and flavor. The service is friendly but slow

A guest at Mikuni for over 40 years, the quality of the sushi has not changed over the decades, simply excellent. Even if it sounds strange, the outdated inventory has its charm, hopefully nothing will be changed anytime soon. When you step through the door you have arrived in Japan.

Best Japanese restaurant i have ever been to outside Asia. Extensive menu, which makes it rather difficult to choose from, but the friendly staff will help you. Not a fancy place, all time and money is spend in great food.

Unfortunately we were sent away because we were there with a dog (toy poodle). Very disappointed. This has never happened to us in any restaurant, not even in other Japanese/sushi restaurants.

The udon had no taste and was not good...
