The rating is not for the food but for the staff's rude behavior. The food quality was average. When we asked for a glass of tap water, they were not allowed to give it and then gave us a glass of tap water saying they are just doing us a favor "Pani ke liye Kaise mana kare(How can we say no for a glass of water)?". Later they included an additional 3 euro in the bill for the glass of water. When we asked them that they said they were just doing us a favor then how can they charge us for it? Then they refunded us the 3 euro with a rude attitude stating to the waiter that you don't give water to anyone next time.

Delicious! Onion Bahjis and rice were very filling. I wouldn't take the Nilgiri again.

Absolutely brilliant, very tasty and excellent service. Menu has English description under dishes. Rice portions are large and could be shared between two people. The mango dessert is amazing!! Would definitely recommend.

The food tasted good. Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio is not right. For €16 there were 5 small pieces of duck with sauce and 4cm pieces of vegetables. Everything was also served in bowls wrapped in a pile of aluminum foil. Sustainability and visually it is really a disaster. The ambience is overloaded, too cliche and also outdated. The service was very friendly and the food came quickly and hot. The selection is also very extensive, even for vegetarians. Personally, however, I would cut back a bit and specialize in real hits.

It's a shame you can't give 0 stars. Waited over two hours for the food so far. It's still not there. No one has been available by phone for 30 minutes. If you can't deliver, then you shouldn't accept orders! Just absolute disgrace

Visited on the weekend. There was a little bit of a crowd. The taste was good as i ordered Paneer Tikka Masala, Vegetables Jafrezi, Paneer Lababdar, Malai Kofta as far as i remember. We were a group of 5 and were served after about 30 to 35 mins. Rice was complementary and we ordered Naan which was not good at all. It was too thick for our liking. Overall it was an average experience with food. Staff was really good.

I would give 0 stars if it worked. Ordered via the in-house Taj Mahal app - unfortunately the app is very poorly programmed. Orders placed cannot be viewed and you do not receive any confirmation after ordering and have to rely on it. On Sunday we had already waited 2.5 hours for the order, when the driver credibly confirmed that you shouldn't order on the weekend and that it is better during the week. Of course the phone was also plugged in so you can't even call where the order is. Ordered today (Tuesday) at 6:50 p.m. After 4 hours we gave up waiting. A whole evening wasted waiting for food. Haven't received anything. No food, no call. There are too many other better Indian restaurants for that Never again and not recommended

Really unhappy with the service. I was there on 29.06.2024 around 13:00. The waiter was asking me inappropriate questions. He asked me where I come from and I said my State name instead of my country, India. And his next questions were if my State people would better like to be not a part of India, why we don’t support a specific party and so on. Really not nice and was racist. Then he just kept the hot sizzling platter of the dish on top of my tissues and didn’t really serve us. I almost burnt my finger trying to get my tissue back. Never had such an experience from any other Indian restaurant in Germany. Never going to this restaurant again in Ulm although the food was good.

Food was ordered and paid for via PayPal. Delivery never arrived. The telephone is apparently switched off, the only message that comes out is “Participant is not reachable”. Email address on the homepage is incorrect, will be rejected immediately. What a disastrous service.

Only for vegetarian food. Staff is okay. Ambience is a bit better and delivery is literally worst. I have dined in here as well as ordered home delivery. Most of vegetarian options are not good in taste. Its okay only when you have no other option to eat otherwise not recommended. Dal tarka was like the chef don’t even know what a tarka actually is and which dal to use. Sabji is average not so bad but no so good. Only dal makhni is best in taste as it should be.

We ordered food from this store. It took 2 hours and there was still no food. When I called I kept saying the driver was on the way. After 2 hours it said no order had been taken. In addition, we were still on Phone ready. I've never experienced anything so abnormal. You get yelled at and lied to on the phone. I advise against placing an order here. Never seen such a rude shop. Abnormal!!!!! I will never order here again! We were later offered the order free of charge as a gesture of goodwill. Which we thought was good.. At first. When we received the food after 3(!) hours, the driver demanded money for it. That's when we broke the knot. When we called the restaurant, they said that nothing like that had ever been arranged. Very disappointing this service!

We weren't greeted particularly friendly, which was probably because we arrived with a dog and dogs don't seem to be particularly welcome. We were assigned a table in the back area. The welcome snack (papadam with 3 sauces) looks absolutely chemical and has absolutely nothing tasty. At the last Indian meal I asked that the rest of the sauces be left so that I could use it all up with the naarn bread because they were so delicious. Here we quickly put them aside so that we don't completely lose our appetite for the main course. We ordered the platter with 4x meat for 2 people. Given that we had already read other reviews and were expecting the absolute worst, we were even briefly surprised when it was served because it didn't look that bad. A quick taste was okay. However, while eating it turned out that the first impression was deceptive. The meat tasted of poor quality and after eating we had such a bad aftertaste in our mouths that we immediately had to eat something sweet (not here, of course). Conclusion: We have eaten Indian food in all sorts of countries and so far we have always had very good to good experiences. Today was more than a letdown. Anyone who gives this meal a positive rating probably has no idea what good Indian cuisine is. My husband and I were very disappointed. We ordered a platter for 2 people with 4 different meat dishes. It was just ridiculous that there were only 2 small pieces of meat each. Unfortunately, for the most part, the quality of the meat was not good either. Rice and the nan bread were delicious. We've often eaten Indian food in different cities, but we've never been so disappointed...it's a shame!

Butter chicken was not good. The meat tasted strange and was very tough. The sauce wasn't tasty either. The food I took with me wasn't good either. Unfortunately, the service doesn't understand German well, which worsens the service and was then also annoyed. It doesn't work at all. I don't go there anymore, the other Indians in Ulm are better in my opinion.

The food is great here, and I would recommend people try it if they are looking for Indian dishes.

There's almost nothing you can say against the food. It tastes good (when it arrives warm) and the price is ok. But!!! The delivery times are never met... 60 minutes stated After 90 minutes you should wait another 20 minutes After 120 minutes the driver brings a coke (means he still hasn't left) Unfortunately it didn't just happen once.

I've been here a few times and have been very satisfied every time. For the price you get great food and feel full. A highly recommended Indian.

Never again!!!! We ordered from the Taj Mahal via Lieferando: €108 + €6 tip paid via Paypal. Even after waiting 2.5 hours, the food didn't come. You can't reach anyone on this phone number. The Lieferando service pointed out that the Taj Mahal had told them that everything had been delivered perfectly. We were stuck with the full cost + tip and had no food! Stay away from this restaurant!

A little unprepared, I spontaneously went there with my work colleagues. Six of us got a table. Struck by the extreme selection on the menu, I ordered a dish that I wanted to surprise myself with. The expectation of Indian food was lots of spices and extreme flavors. Unfortunately I didn't get that. The waiter was super friendly👍. The ambience is clocklike. However, the creaking bench was disruptive when we were eating...

Addendum: I was contacted by their lawyer and asked to delete this review. This now deducts one star because the rating total is no longer authentic. Today they were a bit overwhelmed because almost all the tables were occupied. Starters were forgotten and ordering drinks was a bit of a test of patience. Other guests were also a bit annoyed about the long waiting times. We refused a table right next to other guests because a 150cm safety distance was not maintained there. Some guests sat back to back and right next to each other. Strangely enough, they didn't want our personal details because of Corona. It may be that this restaurant was exempt from this. Food was delicious and staff friendly.

2 voorgerechten waren niet zo lekker, hoofdgerecht was lekker. Men laat een schotel rijst vallen en die laat men gewoon op de grond liggen. Opgelet als je een negatieve review zet. Dan krijg je een klacht en wilt Google je review verwijderen. Zorg dus dat je bewijs hebt.

Wir kamen früher gerne hierher, obwohl wir eine Stunde entfernt wohnen. Inzwischen haben wir aber häufiger „alte“ Popadoms (die vom Mittagsbetrieb übrig gewesen sein mussten) serviert bekommen und statt Chutneys werden Dips/Saucen serviert. Auch die Hauptgerichte sind einfach nicht mehr so lecker, wie sie das waren. Deshalb habe ich meine ursprüngliche 5-Sterne Bewertung angepasst. Ein „Ermächtigter“ des Inhabers hat seither versucht, meine Bewertung entfernen zu lassen, und unterstellt mir, die Rezension verfasst zu haben, ohne im Restaurant gegessen zu haben.

The food at this restaurant is not authentic Indian food. The curries all tasted same. We ordered both veg and non-veg and neither was good. The malai kofta was as sweet as a dessert. Even other dishes were quite tasteless. Disappointed. The service and atmosphere of the restaurant was good but the food definitely not.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und hatte eine angenehme Schärfe. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Ambiente war sehr gemütlich.

Positiv: Das Essen ist echt gut! Negativ: Wir mussten eine halbe Stunde warten bis wir überhaupt Getränke bestellen konnten. Die Karte hat mein Mann selbst vom Stapel geholt sonst hätte es noch länger gedauert… das Essen kam auf Nachfrage nach über 1 1/4 Stunden ! Wir sind absolut verständnisvoll wenn das Restaurant voll ist und - wie in der Gastronomie bekannt - Personalmangel herrscht aber die Nachfrage wurde ignoriert, es wurde sich weder entschuldigt noch sich irgendwie bemüht, nein man war beleidigt. Wir hatten unser knapp 4-jähriges Kind dabei und er bekam als allerletzter das Essen. Die Nebentische waren teilweise nach uns da und hatten vor uns ihr Essen. Eine kleine Entschuldigung, Verständnis auf die Nachfrage oder eine Kugel Eis aufs Haus fürs Kind wären nett gewesen. Es ist schade wenn einem das gute Essen dann doch mit so einem Ambiente etwas „versaut“ wurde.

Wir waren vor Ort essen. Die Gerichte waren heiß, geschmacklich gut. Jedoch der Service ist nicht so berauschend, man wartet ewig bis mal wieder jemand kommt und fragt ob man noch was haben möchte. Des Weiteren mit dem Bezahlen dauert es auch ewig lang, obwohl der Laden zur Mittagszeit nicht voll war.

Das Essen war reichlich und preislich in Ordnung. Waren mit 2 Erwachsene und 1 Kind bei 46€. Hauptgericht mit Getränke. Leider war das Kinderessen etwas zu scharf. Ansonsten gab es nichts auszusetzen. Außer vielleicht, dass man die Toilette malwieder sanieren könnte.

It is much better indian restaurant than all the others in the town. Though it has got relatively lesser reviews but this is by far the best i have visited. Good taste better service and nice ambience.

Das Essen kam pünktlich. Ich habe zur Mittagstisch-Zeit bestellt, Preis-Leistung war entsprechend sehr gut. Wir sind auf jeden Fall satt geworden und geschmeckt hatt es auch. Das Nan war ein wenig trocken.

Nice atmosphere (although the indoor may need more ventilation) and the food is OK. The starters were quite good while the main dish was quite spicy but not very tasty. We have ordered this dish in some other restaurants and it can be much better. The service was fast and good. Actually it was a misunderstanding on what we have ordered and they fixed it immediately although they still asked me to pay the dish that I have not ordered wchich was more expensive than the one that I have ordered. I may come again to give it another try.

Essen per Lieferung bestellt. Essen war geschmacklos und Soße war mit Wasser gestreckt. Alles sehr geschmacklos und das für 30€ 😒. Haben oft und gern dort bestellt aber das war das letze Mal!

As i am from Jaipur, India. I love the Indain food. I am here in Ulm for my busniess trip. And i visited lot of restaurents. Among all of them, I had a great experience with Tajmahal. The food has a lot of options to choose, being a vegetarian, I found my favourite dishes like karahi paneer, Chana masala, Dal tarka and many more. I enjoyed these dishes with nan and roties and rice. The food is very delicious with pure indian taste. Its a huge property with cool ambience and with traditional indian heritage portraits. Additionally, you will enjoy the old bollywood songs with light volume.The staff is very courteous and services are really amazing. I will strongly recommend to visit this restaurent with family and friends. Its a value for money place. personally, whenever i will be in ULM, will definetely visit this place. Thanks to these Gentlemans, who is providing this Oscar Worthy indian traditional Cuisine here in Germany. At the end the thing that impressed me, is the behaviours of these Gentlemans. Honestly, i had my home feeling here. Thanks TAJMAHAL!!

Wir bestellten diverse Speisen, darunter auch ein Fischgericht. Den Fisch musste man allerdings suchen, es bestand überwiegend aus Kartoffeln. Dafür ist der Preis zu hoch. Der Service ließ sehr zu wünschen, Fragen zu den Angeboten wurden mißmutig beantwortet, eine Beratung gab es nicht. Der uns bedienende Ober verkannte durch seine überhebliche Art, daß wir die zahlenden Gäste sind und etwas Höflichkeit angebracht gewesen wäre.

Das Essen war ganz gut, aber leider konnten wir es nicht richtig genießen, da der Ober extrem arrogant und unfreundlich war. (und der 2. Ober verstand kein Deutsch) Hatten "mild" bestellt, und eines der Gerichte war extrem scharf. Auf Reklamation kam keine Reaktion. Wollten dann etwas Yoghurt, um die Schärfe aus dem Essen etwas rauszunehmen. Zuerst wollte man uns ein Raita verkaufen, das wir nicht wollten. Als dann ein kleines Schälchen Yoghurt kam -nach längerer Diskussion- wurde uns dies mit 2.50€ auch noch berechnet. Werden dort defintiv nicht mehr zum Essen gehen.
