Great and tasty food. I tried Chicken tikka and Lamm vindaloo. Spices were in the right proportion . Authentic Indian food. Great atmosphere and really professional service. Tried other (so called) Indian restaurants as well but the food here is better than other restaurants.

Amazing place. We arrived at 22:30 and still got served. Super friendly staff even at Sunday night. The food also delicious. I ordered one of the kebabs with lamb and would definitely repeat.

I eat here regularly. Before the starter there is crusty bread with various delicious dips. I don't always make it to dessert after the starter and main course, but I can recommend absolutely everything. Any leftovers are often packed up, which guarantees another meal for the next day. The staff is very polite and the atmosphere is more than appropriate. As a small bonus, I would recommend a table by the window of Ulm Town Hall and its beautiful facade. With that: bon appetit!!

Random, stop for a quick lunch. 🍜😋 It's definitely a good decision. 👍😊 We were very well treated by a person named Gill. ⭐👏 Ate samosas (crisp, a bit spicy); the chutney provided elevated the taste. 😋🌶️ Mixed pakora of vegetables, chicken, and fish—not so good personally, as you hardly had any chicken or fish in it. 😕🤔 Main dish: Karahi chicken and chicken Tikka masala (spicy). To be honest, very few restaurant has different tastes when you compare their gravies, and this one truly had a unique, spicy, rich taste to both chicken curries, of course served with complimentary rice 🍛🔥💯 Price to quality: I would definitely recommend it. 👍✅ Until next time to try some other dishes as well. 🍽️😋 P.S. Until 2:30 p.m., you can enjoy a vegetarian and non-vegetarian buffet option costing €11.99.

Chicken tastes weird and old!! I got a stomach ache

Was there at lunchtime by chance. Selection of lentil dish, hot chicken, rice, potato dish, salad, dips and bread. Missed dessert. Quality of the food is good. Service very good.

We tried the lunch menu (buffet) today. The selection was mediocre, so not huge. The restaurant didn't suit my personal taste...the usual quality (Indian cuisine) that I know wasn't there either. The dishes were kept in warming boxes, unfortunately only lukewarm...we were there at 11:30 a.m. This is my personal impression, we will try something else next time.

It's always a pleasure to enjoy the varied Indian cuisine. Today it was the offer at the lunch buffet. There was something for every taste, from mild to spicy meat dishes as well as vegetarian versions and soup. A good tip for weekdays.

I was here for the first time today and I have to say I was very satisfied. At the waiter's recommendation we took number 42 and it arrived after a very short time. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone who is in the mood for skilled culinary food. Gladly again at any time

I had a tandoori mix. Different types of meat marinated differently. One was better than the other. You can talk about a taste explosion. Will definitely come back. 👌

We ordered the buffet, but there were only 6 dishes available being one of them just rice. They were also too spicy giving no alternative options.

I was not satisfied with the quality of the food, especially the vegetable biryani, which is stored food and was reheated. As for the vegetable soup, it is wonderful, and the lentil soup, other than that, I do not recommend the prices. It is completely similar to other restaurants and the service. There is no outdoor seating on the other side.

The Himalaya is very centrally located in Ulm and is easily accessible by public transport. In terms of price, it is quite cheap to eat there. We all liked the taste and were full too. Rice was refilled at no extra charge. We had made a reservation, which went smoothly. Access is not entirely barrier-free/wheelchair accessible.

Went there for lunch and had a buffet. Unfortunately very disappointed, will not go back. Little selection, quality...

Best Indian restaurant in Ulm, better than the others in town!

We visited this place for the very first time and the impression its owner & staff left on us is unforgettable. It was during lunch that we went to this restaurant & asked for menu card. We started looking to order our food. Within 30 seconds of getting menu, the staff member visited us 3 times, continuously asked for order and he was more focused on its buffet. First of all we were reluctant but he insisted. We asked for buffet menu and he told us there is salad, bread, lentils and mix veggie. Somehow we chose to go for buffet as he was keen to get the orders on buffet. We missed the trick here. We took the plate and took lentils, rice and salad. As soon as we started taking bread, it was super cold, and hard to chew as if it is cold pressed. Here it starts the drama - I asked the owner if he can provide us hot bread, he simply made the stmt - "If you need hot bread, you can order additionally. No hot bread on buffet even if its stone harded." Then why did he insisted so much on buffet? We were not asking free food. We were paying for his buffet menu. WE did not like his way of talking. As we already had some food in our plates (we did not want to continue but), we continued our spirit of not wasting the food. As it was buffet, I took lentil another time... In this scenario, staff started gossiping that they already took the food 2-3 times. Customer does not exptect such stmts from restaurant owner & staff. They were talking in Punjabi (Indian language) and somehow we understood what he was saying. Now, you can guess the type of mindset they are having. We were not having free food. Of course, we were paying for it. Quality of mix veg - Stale veggies used Quality of lentil - OK (but below than other restaurants) Breads - Thick and hard like anything. Attitude & customer handling - Less than 0 Mindset of this restaurant - Money Money Money Wont recommend it to others.

What can I say!! I’m an Indian looking for nice authentic Indian food in Germany and this place isn’t the one to visit!! The dhal looked like dishwater. All the curry’s had the same sauce with no flavour and all ever so brown sludge, no spice or any taste to it. I do not recommend!! Do not come here

Delicious Indian food in the heart of Ulm. Well flavoured food. Menu 3 had a good Dal soup, papadums and 2 mains with rice. For desserts we could choice what we like. Menu 3 for 52 euro for 2 personnes.

Literally bad food in taste. Ambience wasn’t great and service was okay. You will find a better indian restaurant than this atleast in food. Not only vegetarian food taste bad, my friend tried beef curry and some other dishes and he too disliked it.

We were here for the first time today, the food was very good, the staff was friendly, we would like to come back.

The food was great, we definitely enjoyed it! 👍 The service is very friendly and attentive, the prices have not changed since last year! For three with an appetizer, drinks and tip, it is very affordable and recommended! We would love to come back, or were there for the third time in a short time.

Compared to many other Indian restaurants that I have eaten at around the world, they mostly hit all the right notes. The only criticism is the sauce was a little bit less thick and more watery than I would’ve preferred (chicken tikka masala). Quality of food, service and proportion size was excellent.

The food was absolutely delicious and there were dishes availlable for meat-eaters and vegans alike. We ate here with 7 people and everyone was very happy with how tasty it was.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Getränke waren sehr lieblos. Insgesamt solide, kann man nichts mit falsch machen, allergikertauglich.

Lieblingsinder in Ulm. Ich empfehle die Tandoori-Spezialitäten. Super Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

Sehr mittelmäßiges Essen. Ich hatte Botti Kebab Masala, nur einfach gewürzt. Die Lammportion war sehr übersichtlich. Preislich OK, trotzdem nicht unbedingt zu empfehlen

Wir waren an einem Samstag zum Mittagessen hier. Wir haben sowohl a la carte als auch das Mittagsbuffet gewählt. Das Essen war geschmacklich leider nur mittelmäßig und der Service gerade noch ok. Eine Person isst immer Butter Chicken, sofern es auf der Karte steht. So haben wir eine gute Vergleichsmöglichkeit. Die Soßen sämtlicher Gerichte waren eher wässrig und nicht so sämig wie wir es von indischen Restaurants in D kennen. Würze war ok. Beim nächsten Besuch in Ulm würde ich ein anderes indisches Restaurant ausprobieren. Großer Pluspunkt dieses Restaurants: Es liegt sehr zentral in der Innenstadt und das Mittagsbuffet kostet nur 11,90€.

Nettes indisches Restaurant mit angemessenen Preisen. Das Essen war toll. Besonders begeistert hat mich der für mich passende Schärfegrad ('wirklich scharf" statt "normal scharf" :D). Einziges Manko: Die Bedienungen wirkten grundlos gestresst, ein wenig unfreundlich. Die Stühle hinten würde ich nach Möglichkeit vorn hinstellen.

Ohne Reservierung Samstag Abends einen Tisch bekommen. Schön gestaltet, Terrasse, Toiletten sehr klein, aber sauber. Wir hatten das Vegetarische Menü. Dies ist sehr zu empfehlen! Es besteht aus Suppe, Salat, Vorspeisenplatte, 2 Hauptgerichte mit Reis und Naan sowie Dessert.

Wir waren am Samstag zum Mittagessen da, so gegen 13 Uhr. Da wir in Ulm fremd sind, wussten wir nicht dass es Mittags nur Buffet gibt. Haben dass erst mitbekommen, als wir schon eine Weile am Tisch saßen. Wir sind Vegetarier, aber da es laut Kellner auch zwei vegetarische Gerichte - eines mit Kichererbsen, das zweite mit verschiedenen Gemüsen, mit Reis und Nan-Brot - gab, entschieden wir uns fürs Bleiben. Das war ein Fehler - die vegetarischen Gerichte entpuppten sich als zwei mittelscharfe Saucen, aus denen man nur mit Mühe ein paar vereinzelte Kichererbsen, und eine einsame Kartoffel rausfischen konnte. Beim Nan- Brot war erst der vierte Versuch - kurz vor Verlassen des Lokals - erfolgreich. Und da kamen so wenige Stücke, dass die auch schnell weg waren. Dabei stand ich das eine Mal sicher 4-5 Minuten demonstrativ vor dem leeren Nan- Korb, und die vorbeihuschenden Kellner haben mir gesagt „Kommt gleich“, und auch in die Küche reingerufen dass das Nanbrot fehlt. Leider ohne jeden Erfolg. Für das, was wir da konsumieren konnten, waren die 11,90 pro Person für das Essen eindeutig übertrieben. Nie wieder Himalaja für uns!

Some classic styles are missing like korma murgh and kashmerie. Dahl was like water with a little Taste Yello rice was nice Mutton with sauce and dahl tastes for German Maggi. Mango lassi was tasty. Piano music very booring, sounds cheap. Service good cause late and empty

This week we ordered Indian food from here. The delivery guy had a brawl with my friend, who generally orders the food and receives it. The delivery guy was asking for a 20% tip, which I think is very rude and against my German upbringing. Since we went to collect food at the house entrance, with the exact amount of payment, we were not carrying our purses, so we were not having extra cash to tip. Though he left without any fuss, I am not very sure that he won't tamper with our food the next time, just because of this incident. I would definitely try to avoid placing any future home-delivery orders, as I don't want to keep wondering if my food was tampered with. Also, the delivery guy was not wearing a mask, and I find this a gross violation of Corona rules.

Wir waren gegen 17:30 Uhr da, also gleich zu Beginn des Abendservice. Wir bestellten unsere Getränke und unser Essen, die Wartezeit bei beidem war nicht zu lang . Das Essen war gut es gab nichts auszusetzen. Eigentlich passt ja alles, die Lage ist super, mit Blick auf den Dom und das Essen passt auch soweit. Man sollte es ja nie mit dem Original aus Indien vergleichen. Das Restaurant füllte sich für ein Montag aber schon recht gut, von daher muss ja irgendwas dran sein. Was uns nur wunderte war das wir zu unseren 3 Gerichten nur eine Schale Reis bekommen hatten, welche auf den ersten Blick auch nicht so klein aussah, aber auch nicht so gross das es für 3 Portionen hätte sein können. Als wir fertig waren sah ich am Nachbartisch eine Frau welche alleine sass und die selbe Portion Reis zu ihrem Gericht bekam. Man könnte jetzt sagen hättest den Kellner gefragt, Foodsafe… Darum geht es aber nicht. Ich will auch nicht alles auf die berühmte „Goldwaage“ legen, aber da sehe ich das Verbesserungspotenzial und dabei dem Gast bevor er bezahlt eine Papierrechnung auszudrucken und nicht erst nachdem er bezahlt hat und diese erst auf Nachfragen bekommt. Weil auf dem kleinen Handheld vom Kellner war nicht wirklich allzu viel zu erkennen. Natürlich vergass man auch manche Sachen, mein Espresso ( bei 3 Kellnern insgesamt bestellt), das Take away ( hatten ja noch extra Brot bestellt und wollten den Rest mitnehmen), aber das kenn ich mittlerweile schon von indischen Restaurants und davon hab ich wegen meiner Frau schon mehr als genug besucht. Aber im grossen und ganzen war das Essen gut, beim Service gibt es Potenzial nach oben ( nicht falsch verstehen, freundlich waren Sie, halt nur nicht mit dem Kopf ab und zu bei der Sache.

Nur zum Empfehlen. Auswahl und Essen super lecker, Personal sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Sehr angenehme Atmosphäre.

Verry tasty food, but keeping distance due to Corona was neglected. In the back of the restaurant were 12 tables. We were the first guest. 15 minuten later came another couplet. They got a tablet at 1,5 meter distance. Half an hour later came two New guests. They had a reservation for four. The assigned tablet was at 40 cm. distance. There were plenty free tables at a safe distance available. The new arrivals acted humiliated when I said when we finished our meal at the terrace that I prefered the cold above the risc of infection. There were 6 people from 4-5 different households in 2,5 square meter.

Seit langer Zeit gehen wir immer wieder gerne ins Himalaya. Die Gastgeber sind immer freundlich - auch, wenn das Restaurant voll ist bis auf den letzten Platz. Die Getränke kommen schnell und auf das Essen wartet man auch nie lange. Das Naan ist ein Gedicht, Butter Chicken und die Kichererbsen ebenso! Wer nordindisches Essen genießen möchte, sollte das Himalaya besuchen!

In der Mitte Ulmsgegenüber dem Rathaus findet man das indische Restaurant das auch Mittagsbuffet anbietet Das Buffet besteht aus drei Töpfen mit 2 Gerichten sowie Reis, Gemüse und Brot. Das Essen ist Ok, der Service war höflich als Buffet vielleicht etwas übertrieben, Preis Leistung aber mit 12 EUR incl. Getränk angemessen.
