The food in the restaurant tasted good, but unfortunately there wasn't enough chicken in the dishes. In addition, the service took a long time - we had to wait almost an hour for our food. That was really annoying, especially when you're hungry. Nevertheless, the employees were very friendly and helpful. However, the price-performance ratio was not right: the price was simply too high for the portion size and the long waiting time. If the wait was shorter, the portions more generous, and the prices more reasonable, it would be a much better experience.

I regularly order meals here to pick up. It always takes 20 minutes until you can pick up your food and the restaurant is extremely reliable. If you get there too early, you'll get a mango lassi to wait for you. The staff at this restaurant are above average friendly and not hectic at all. There is generally a pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant. We always order the same 2 vegetarian dishes and they are to die for every time: karahi paneer and vegetable korma. The portions are always sufficient, but usually enough that I can still eat it the next day.

Our favorite restaurant in Ulm for a long time! Fantastic taste, great selection of dishes for vegetarians too. Very friendly service on site and during delivery. I've tried many Indian restaurants, but none come close to this one. Absolutely recommended!

Extremely tasty and consistently good Indian restaurant. Whether it's a company party or a private party - it's both cozy and festive. The map is great, even though I personally would find a little change exciting every now and then. Vegetarian options are just as good. A clear recommendation from us, especially for gourmets who may not have dared to try Indian cuisine yet. Keep it up!

We were on the way back from our vacation and discovered this Indian guy. The food was great, very well seasoned, our wishes were catered for. The service was exceptionally friendly. If we lived here, this would definitely be our favorite restaurant. We will definitely come back the next time we return from vacation.

The food was really good, but unfortunately the service left a lot to be desired. We arrived at 6:50 p.m. and the food didn't arrive until 8:30 p.m. We also had to wait a long time to drink and some glasses were still missing. Of course, Saturdays are always busier, but unfortunately there were still disproportionate waiting times.

Waiter was nice and attentive. Unfortunately, the food wasn't tasty, the seasoning was strange, we often eat Indian food and here the rice wasn't even cooked with salt, at least that's how it tasted. All in all, an unsatisfying dining experience. Too bad. Prices ok.

The gulab jamun so bad and the taste was useless. 5.5 eurs for such a small gulab jamun. It is a pakistani restaurant not indian. Samosa was okay.

I went to this wonderful Indian restaurant today with my wife and child and we just loved it! The food was absolutely delicious - every dish perfectly seasoned and freshly prepared. The service was exceptional; The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, so we felt welcome from the start. The atmosphere was very harmonious and cozy, which made the visit even more pleasant. We were looked after excellently and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Absolutely recommended we'd love to come back!

The food is simply to die for. We were particularly pleased with the two greetings from the kitchen. And the price-performance ratio is also unbeatable; there are hardly any restaurants that are this cheap. Definitely the best Indian in the area! 😋

Ambience: really good Food : Only lassi and samosas were good , everything else was below average. Each food item with curry was sweet. Biryani had really small pieces of meat and also very few pieces only per serving. Whole lot of food colouring, like a lot of it, was used. Overall had an average experience, was not quite upto our expectation from an Indian establishment.

Friendly staff and great service. But food is average, it is not something extraordinary. The papad that was supposed to be crispy was soft and chewy. Looks like it was made a while ago.

The food and service are excellent and definitely worth recommending! The ambience in the restaurant is not my taste but I think you can still sit here and enjoy your food. I always use the takeaway service myself

The food was very tasty and the portions were great. You get plenty of rice, a snack with various dips in advance and a dessert on the house. Since I like spicy food, my wish was implemented perfectly. The staff was very nice. The restaurant is highly recommended!

Best Indian restaurant I have visited so far. The butter chicken was perfect with a slight sweetness that I hadn't experienced before. I can also only recommend the naan, which is incredibly delicious.

Absolutely recommended, anyone who likes Indian food should eat there. A real firework of spices and not just spicy. The selection is great, as there is almost every kind of meat but also vegetarian options. There is also a good selection of mild dishes. The service is also very good. The ambience could still use some finishing touches, as there is a large intersection outside and some things inside could be improved (see door to the kitchen). But I will definitely come back and have eaten there several times. Finally, the very fair prices should be mentioned. For example, €14.50 for a meal and €4.50 for a liter of water are very fair, when elsewhere the tap costs over €20 and half a liter of water already costs €5. Please keep it up, if fair prices are charged, I'm happy to give tips and anyone who opens every day is certainly working to make guests happy and not just to make ends meet.

Wir haben schon viele indische Restaurants probiert, aber das Shalimar ist im süddeutschen Raum das wirklich Beste!! Hier wird alles super frisch zubereitet und schmeckt echt klasse 😋🥰 Wir sind jetzt schon Stammgäste und können den Mittagstisch empfehlen. Was toll ist, wenn wir kommen, gibt's eigentlich immer unseren Stammplatz und wir brauchen schon nicht mehr sagen, was wir möchten, denn der Besitzer weiß es immer 😁 Jetzt wohnen wir in Augsburg, müssen aber immer wieder zurück kommen, hier stimmt einfach alles, super Essen, Preis-Leistung top und der Service ist immer klasse!!

Wir waren und sind Stammgästen bei Shalimar. Das Essen schmeckt jedesmal etwas anders, was die hohe Qualität dieses Lokal ausmacht. Hier merkt man das alles frisch zubereitet wird ohne jegliche Fertigprodukte. Preis Leistung mega, zu empfehlen ist das Mittagsmenü was wir sehr lieben. Wir haben einige indische Lokale in Ulm und Umgebung bis Augsburg ausprobiert und kein Lokal kommt an Shalimar ran. Somit bleibt uns keine Wahl wir werden weiterhin den Weg nach Ulm nehmen um in unserem lieblings Favoriten Lokal essen gehen zu können. Worst Indian good experience of Ulm. First of all it’s not Indian restaurant, it’s Pakistani selling in the name of Indian restaurant. Maybe thats why the difference of taste. Everything was little bit salty and not at all worth the price they are charging. 6-7 very small (you can see and compare the size with the spoon in the photo)pieces of Paneer in Kadhai Paneer and paneer was hard and gravy not at all tasted like Kadhai Paneer. My friends ordered Chicken Tikka and had same review like chicken pieces was few and small and not roasted in Tandoor it was like boiled chicken. Also we didn’t got any receipt and thats why their card machine was not working and asked for only Cash! Honestly, I can cook better. I wouldn’t even pay 10euros for the whole thing!!

Essen is sehr lecker, und die Bewirtung super freundlich, wir kommen regelmäßig und wurden nie enttäuscht. Vieles gibt es auf nachfrage auch vegan oder vegetarisch selbst.

Mein Lieblings-Inder. Absolut empfehlenswert. Viele der Gerichte können auf Anfrage auch vegan zubereitet werden.

Personal anfangs freundlich Essen durchschnittlich. Unsere vier Gerichte hatten alle eine für meinen Geschmack zu flüssige Konsistenz. Das, was die Gerichte hätte ausmachen sollen, wie Gemüse oder Fleisch war leider zu wenig und kaum in der Soße auszumachen. Indisch geht vieel besser! Nach dem Essen hat man uns nicht mehr beachtet. Wir mussten das Geld auf dem Tisch liegen lassen, da es niemand abholen wollte.

I asked for spicy biryani and it was not spicy. Not the Indian style biriyani. It was just some colored rice and chicken.

Deliciously seasoned dishes. Were there for lunch. There was a starter, main course and a small dessert. Totally ok for the price. There were just 4 small chicken cubes floating in the sauce. But overall it was a delicious meal

Sehr gute,interessant gekürzte indische Speisen. Hier kann man authentisch indisch essen. Das Interieur ist allerdings allzu schlicht und passt nicht zur Güte der Mahlzeiten. So entsteht keine Wohlfühl-Atmospäre. Und warum wird hier kein Alkohol ausgeschenkt? Als Gast hätte man gerne die Wahl, ob man ein Getränk mit oder ohne Alkohol zu sich nehmen möchte. Wegen der Inneneinrichtung und des Abstinenzlertums ziehen wie zwei Punkte ab. Sonst hätten wir fünf vergeben.

Super tasty food, not a long wait

I recently visited the restaurant with a group of friends. The food was very tasty and the atmosphere very nice. They even helped us taking pictures. BUT I was surprised and annoyed by how one of the waiters would be rude to my Indian friends. When there was confusion with the orders, he would nag them in Hindi. It is not okay to do that. Be kind to all your clients.

Always delicious. Lunch includes a delicious soup and a delicious dessert and the price is fair.

Das Haus und Ambiente des Restaurants ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber trotzdem gemütlich. Der Service war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Auf Sonderwünsche wurde eingegangen und das Essen war sehr lecker. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Danke nochmal an das nette Personal.

War gestern zum ersten Mal zu Besuch und war positiv überrascht. Essen war super, beim Service mussten wir kurz warten. Würde dennoch jederzeit wiederkommen.

Einfach der beste Inder in Ulm und Umgebung. An Shalimar kommt kein anderer Inder ran. Essen schmeckt immer gut und jedesmal etwas anders, was darauf hindeutet das sie jedes Gericht frisch und ohne jegliche Fertigprodukte zubereiten (nichts aus dem Eimer). Wir sind des öfteren hier, Bedienung immer freundlich das essen kommt auch sehr schnell, was einfach nur zu empfehlen ist.

Sehr gutes Essen. Das Restaurant ist sehr schön und festlich. Zu bedenken: es wird kein Alkohol serviert. Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Die Bedienung war sehr langsam und unaufmerksam. Vermutlich der Sohn der keine Lust dazu hat. Die Toiletten sind sehr sauber aber haben etwas gestunken. Wir freuen und schon jetzt auf den nächsten Besuch.

Das Essen im Shalimar ist sehr gut. Wir waren direkt zweimal in Folge geschäffltich dort. Von einer Rucksackreise in Indien kennen ich die Küche aus dem Grenzgebiet zu Pakistan. Fragt am besten nach der "Originalschärfe", die kann man auch gut essen! Man denk sofort an den Urlaub zurück!

Wir waren für eine Nacht in Ulm und waren in einem Hotel in der Nähe. Da wir indisch mögen, haben wir uns entschieden, das Shalimar auszuprobieren, das fußläufig erreichbar war. Das war die absolut beste Entscheidung. Schönes, kleines Restaurant, hervorragendes Essen und super freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Wir hatten einen echt schönen Abend und konnten viel probieren. Wären wir aus der Nähe, würden wir definitiv häufiger vorbeischauen. Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.

Wir waren durch Google auf das Restaurant gekommen und zum Abendessen zu Gast im Shalimar. Wir hatten kurzfristig angerufen und einen Tisch reserviert. Durch die Nähe zu unserem Hotel waren wir zu Fuß dort. Parkplätze vor Ort für Ortsfremde eher schwierig. Vor Ort wurden wir nett empfangen und hatten einen schönen Platz. Die Karte ist gut verständlich und bietet eine ausreichend und gute Auswahl. Wir hatten alle unterschiedliche Gerichte, welche gleichzeitig serviert wurden. Das Essen war sehr schmackhaft und das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis hat ebenfalls gestimmt. Es gab vorab ein Gruß aus der Küche und ein kleiner Nachtisch aufs Haus. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und können daher nur eine Empfehlung aussprechen.

Ik was op doorreis naar Oostenrijk en ik heb hier gewoon lekker gegeten. Prijs kwaliteit verhouding helemaal prima in orde en de bediening was erg vriendelijk. Het rook er heerlijk naar kruiden en eten.

Ein kleines Juwel unscheinbar an der Hauptstraße ohne wirkliche Parkmöglichkeiten in unmittelbarer Nähe. Aber das Essen, der Service und Sauberkeit sprechen für das Shalimar. Wenngleich die Musik mehr an Hamburger Ziehharmonika erinnert hat, würde mich das von erneutem Besuch nicht abhalten. Unumschränkte Empfehlung auch für kleinere Geldbeutel. Gerne wieder!

Bestes indisches Restaurant in Ulm und Umgebung.

Wir waren am letzten Wochenende mit zwei Freunden dort. Wir haben fast alles probiert, angefangen von den Getränken Mango Lassi und der Vorspeise Gemüse Pakora und Samosa. Dann haben wir Lamm und Hähnchenmenüs probiert und zum Schluss als Nachspeise Gulab Jamun. Von der Vorspeise bis zum Dessert war alles top und auch der Service war sehr schnell und freundlich.
