The Taj India in Erkrath impresses with good food and authentic Indian flavors. The dishes are well seasoned, freshly prepared and taste appealing. The service is friendly and attentive, but occasionally a bit awkward. A more professional coordination would make the guest experience even more pleasant. We would also have liked a warmer Indian welcoming culture. A small greeting from the kitchen - such as naan bread on the house - is common in many Indian restaurants and would have rounded off the experience even more. Another point concerns cleanliness and the first impression when entering the restaurant. Tablecloths with stains should be replaced immediately to ensure a well-kept ambience. It was also noticed that bags of rice and other ingredients were stored in the entrance area. Such things should not be visible to guests - it would be advisable to do your shopping before opening time in order to make the overall picture more harmonious. Despite these small points of improvement, the Taj India is definitely worth a visit. The authentic cuisine, diverse spices and wide selection of dishes make it a solid address for Indian cuisine lovers!

Sunday, February 23rd, 2025, 1:45 p.m., we are standing in front of the door with several people and it is closed. It was supposed to be open since 12 p.m. No notice on the door or on the website. We would have liked to have saved ourselves the long journey.

I came here and had food, the food was delicious, such a real indian taste here.please visit atleast once.

Lovely little Indian restaurant located in a street of Neandesrabe in the town of erkrath. The owner very kind and welcoming in a warm and relaxing atmosphere. The food was excellent, my favorite was rice with chicken. I was on holiday in Germany but happy to have immersed myself in a bit of India.

We had a wonderful family dining experience! The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The food was outstanding—flavorful, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. Five stars all around!

Hands down, some of the best food I've had recently! They use the freshest ingredients and make sure each dish is done the right way. The butter chicken was especially memorable. Must try! And the service is at top notch. I felt welcomed and pampered by the food and the service. Kudos to the entire team!

We ordered here for the first time today. The food came as announced after about 60 minutes. The packages were still warm. We had the Taj India platter for two people. Overall, the salad was fresh, but the dressing tasted like a ready-made dressing from the supermarket, with a hint of Indian spices. The chicken soup was boring and tasted like instant soup, but it also lacked the Indian touch. We had a total of two pieces of chicken about 1 cm long and 2 mm wide. The tandoori chicken was chewy and the sauce was a plain tomato sauce. We then tried the duck korma. There was a lot of sauce here with a reasonable amount of duck. In terms of taste, this dish was also boring and had no Indian touch whatsoever. Thirdly, we had the lamb sabji, which according to the description was "tender lamb with fresh vegetables, curry sauce". The lamb tasted like mutton and the vegetables like frozen vegetables. The naan bread was also so salty for our taste that we couldn't eat it. The only thing that was really tasty about this meal was the mango lassi.

Ordered for the second time. Unfortunately still no authentic food. Very low cost of goods (almost just liquid with rice) for unreasonably high prices, that's not okay. Especially since, for example, the very few balls in the Malai Kofta are almost certainly purchased convenience food, absolutely homogeneous mass with no taste and have nothing to do with the original. Here someone makes good money from poor quality. We won't order again.

Just had food delivered for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised at how delicious the dishes were! The “ambience” rating is recommended, but it can only be good, anyone who cooks so lovingly can certainly not do so in a questionable atmosphere!🙂 That wasn’t our last order!

Very good food with the typical Indian aroma, prices are absolutely acceptable, the lunch dishes are a bargain. Good selection for vegetarians too. Service is sometimes a bit difficult due to a lack of knowledge of German. Parking is always available on the street nearby.

Great food and superbly presented!

I was there a few weeks ago with my father, his girlfriend and her daughter. I specifically noted that I wanted it to be extra spicy because I eat a lot of spicy food. The food was extremely good, but next time please try it even spicier, even though my father almost died just trying it hahaha. We will be back definitely.

I ordered for the first time today (Chicken Tandoori) and I'm very impressed. Everything was perfectly warm and the taste was excellent. Gladly again!

Nette Betreiber. Das Essen schmeckte leider gar nicht, vor allem kein bisschen authentisch. Mein Essen hat nach reiner Tomatensoße geschmeckt. Die klassischen Gewürze haben mir hier gefehlt sowie einige Zutaten. Soße und Reis, das ist zu wenig für den Preis. Das Naan war ok.

Ich habe gestern da bestellt und musste über eine stunde warten und habe dann angerufen und der Mann sagte er dachte ich habe „Abholung“ gesagt !! Ich sagte noch bitte Wechsel geld mitbringen! Der Mann kam ohne Wechselgeld!!! das Essen war ein disaster sehr wenig Soße. Ich habe chicken tikka bestellt und am Ende war das chicken woanders und nicht in der Soße !! Das Essen war ein disaster! Die Lieferung auch! Niewiedeer von dort

Super ! Wir haben über Lieferando bestellt und das Essen kam schneller als erwartet. Sehr lecker und viel Essen ! Wir bestellen wieder ! Vegetarische Thali und Chaat sehr zu empfehlen. Es gab sogar ein Mangodessert - köstlich!

So lecker und sind original indisch! Haben jetzt 2x bestellt und es war sooo lecker! Gut zu wissen: wenn man nicht oft scharf isst, dann ist die Bezeichnung pikant auch schon scharf für einen. Aber so ist das halt bei indischen Essen. Es schmeckt wirklich frisch und einfach nur mega gut! Für den Preis finde ich die Portion okay, sind halt Restaurant-Preise und ist KEIN Imbiss. Ich werde aufjedenfall satt und sehr gerne öfter bestellen. Nachtrag vom 18.05.23: Mein Favorit war immer das chicken Butter, allerdings war es gestern so scharf, dass ich es kaum aufessen konnte.. kann es mir nur so erklären: entweder es gibt einen neuen Koch oder ich habe das falsche Gericht bekommen… sehr schade

Waren mit 10 Leuten da. Das Essen hat allen ausgezeichnet geschmeckt! Der Service war nicht nur sehr freundlich, sondern auch sehr gut. Wir kommen wieder!

Zwei Gerichte probiert und beide waren einfach nur schlecht. Ich hatte kein Stück Gemüse bei mir in der Sauce und ein einziges kleines Stück Hähnchen. Preis Leistung stimmt gar nicht. Auch der Geschmack hatte nichts mit dem indischen Essen zu tun, welches ich aus Indien kenne. Hoffe hier schnell auf ein neues Restaurant.

Wir sind mega angefressen, so viel Geld für eine lächerliche Portion. Der Salat hatte sogut wie kein Dressing und das für fast 10€, bestand auch größtenteils aus grüner Paprika und Eisbergsalat....

Sehr lecker, sowohl Vegetarisch als auch Fleisch. Die Suppen sind der Wahnsinn. Nur empfehlenswert.

Bis jetzt 2 Mal bestellt und garantiert nicht das letzte Mal. Sau leckeres Essen. Die samosas sind echt geil. Die mango Soße war mir persönlich zu süß, aber ich mag auch gerne scharf. Wir werden uns jetzt durch das gesamte Menü futtern. Wenn wir einen Babysitter haben gehen wir auch Mal die Location ausprobieren. Fange schon beim Gedanken an die nächste Bestellung an zu sabbern...

Essen Super und sehr Freundliches Personal. Hat sogar 2 Stunden länger für uns aufgelassen . Und eine Kegelbahn gibt es auch .👍

Essen war lecker. Wir haben verschiedene Gerichte getestet. Der Service war sehr nett. Wir fanden das Ambiente vor Ort nicht ganz so ansprechend, würden aber auf jeden Fall essen dort zum Abholen bestellen.

Zufällig auf der Heimreise entdeckt: wir hatten beide Knoblauchsuppe und Ente Mango: beides richtig gut, Bedienung freundlich, Service sehr gut: sehr empfehlenswert!

Wir haben aufgrund der guten Bewertungen heute erstmals in diesem Lokal bestellt. Das Gemüsecurry hatte vor allem wenig Gemüse. 😒 Ente Mango war einfach nur zuckersüß. 😬 Lamm mit Spinat sah unappetitlich aus. 🤢 Insgesamt war es nicht schmackhaft, nur noch lauwarm und unserer Meinung nach das Geld nicht wert.

In der alten Location haben wir vor Ort gegessen und waren begeistert. Jetzt haben wir aus der neuen Location bestellt. 1x Linsensuppe, 1x Naan mit Käse und 2x die Tandori Grillplatte. Vom Essen waren wir wieder begeistert. Alles war sehr sehr lecker. 1 Stern Abzug für die doch sehr lange Lieferzeit. Beim nächsten Mal kommen wir dann doch lieber wieder vorbei. :-)

Hallo....hab eben zur Geburtstag meine Essen bestellt...Nummer 123 mit verschiedenen Gemüsesorten!....außer Paprika und Zwiebeln war kein Gemüse drin!....Gericht hat 16.50 gekostet .....war sehr enttäuscht!

Wir waren gestern zum ersten Mal dort essen. Das Essen war überraschend gut und die Preise sind fair. Ich war begeistert, da der Laden und die Gegend sehr unscheinbar wirken. Die Karte war sehr groß, ich gehe wieder dorthin.

Leider sehr unzufrieden, da wir vieles bestellt haben. Bei meinem Gericht, habe ich extra angegeben, dass ich Reis dazu haben wollen würde. Beim ankommen, hatten alle Gerichte Reis als Beilage, bis auf meins. Sorry, aber ich vermerke es extra, da bei Lieferando keine Angaben über Beilagen waren und dann passiert das.

Haben dort bestellt um mal indisch zu probieren. Was soll ich sagen, einzig die Lieferung lief gut ab. Das Essen war zum vergessen...vom Geschmack zwar gut aber der Rest war voll daneben, Portionen auf Kindergröße. Hähnchenfleisch “Murg Cocos Curry“ musste man in der Soße suchen, ganze 5 Stücke gefunden !!! Knusprige Ente “Sabji“ war alles andere als knusprig, sah aus wie gekocht. Das Fett und die Haut war weiß als hätte das Fleisch nie Hitze gesen. Warenwert für beides etwa 6 Euro. Bestellen dort nie wieder.

Sehr zu empfehlen, bestellt, prombt geliefert und alles super lecker. Wir kommen auch mal Kegeln. 👌👍

Wirklich sehr lecker und faire Preise

Heute zum ersten Mal bestellt. Die zugesagte Lieferzeit wurde nicht ganz eingehalten. Das Essen war geschmacklich sehr gut. Leider war mein Hähnchenbrustfilet nicht ganz durch. Nachdem wir das mitgeteilt hatten, war die Reaktion aber sehr positiv. Wir werden also trotz allem wieder bestellen und sicherlich auch bald mal vor Ort speisen.
