Everything is perfect, service is there immediately and always very nice, short waiting times, a rustic, cozy atmosphere, no frills and the meat from the grill is really so delicious and the taste has remained unchanged for over 20 years. I have been going there at every opportunity for so long, ordering the meat and the simple salad prepared by them, I really recommend it

We were there again today after a while, and as always, everything was very good. The food, the service, the atmosphere, and the prices are reasonable; we'll be happy to come back.

If you like big steaks, you've come to the right place. Very tasty and large, tender on the inside and with butter on the steak. I think the price is also reasonable. If it is spring or summer you have a beautiful view and you can take a walk right after dinner to let the food sink in.

Basically good steakhouse. We were there at lunchtime. The waiter was quick and friendly. The beef fillet steak with black pepper sauce I ordered was good, but more well done than medium. Given the prices quoted, the doneness should be right. Salad of the day and chips were good standard. Overall recommended but not outstanding.

Although it is in the higher price range, the price/performance ratio is still good. Excellent quality, very tasty. The mixed ice cream was also excellent as a dessert and be careful: real cream, not spray cream. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, we were turned away right at the door because it said that this was a steak house and not a café (since we “just” wanted to eat desserts and have a coffee), even though there were plenty of seats inside and outside. The person at the entrance then turned away from us in an unfriendly way. It's a shame, we would have liked to have given the “Gut Jägerhof” a chance.

This location is not wheelchair accessible: You have to go up or down stairs to get to all tables. Stairs also lead to the “normal” toilets. There are no accessible toilets. It is unclear why this restaurant displays the wheelchair symbol. There is only one table right at the entrance, which is very drafty and can be reached with a wheelchair. The entrance is difficult due to the narrow door, and the receptionist is of no help whatsoever. Very unfortunate...

I've been eating here since I was a child and the service is always very friendly. The atmosphere is fantastic, especially when you sit on the terrace in summer. The food is always very good too.

This is a steakhouse that I am willing to take a detour for. Have returned here for some years now. The restaurant is located in a rather remote area. However, tourists by the busloads have discovered this gem in the middle of nowhere as well. The view on the fields is really nice to see in the spring and summer. The meat is fantastic and roasted to great flavour. Excellent value for your money as well. Highly recommended.

We were there tonight and definitely for the last time. The food is okay, but the quality is far from the high prices. The crowning glory was industrial mousse au chocolate for €8.30. Neither sweet nor cocoa, you could only taste Dr. Oetker emulsifiers. The atmosphere of a motorway service station and the food at the prices were reason enough not to come back, but the motivation to write a negative review comes from dealing with customers. Only one employee was genuinely friendly, at least you couldn't blame the others. But the crowning glory is the obvious owner of the shop. I call it repulsive and unsympathetic. A young man had a circulatory collapse (perhaps there is something to the assessment of another with food poisoning). The man stormed to the men's room bathed in sweat and looked close to collapse. His girlfriend and a friend accompanied him to the washroom, where he obviously needed water cooling. I stood in front of the door, heard the commotion of worried relatives inside, and asked another man who was waiting outside the door if I should wait any longer. Then the owner went in: the first thing he said was in an absolutely unfriendly and condescending tone: "This is not your bathroom and you have no business being here (to your girlfriend)". She then said, seriously panicked and desperate, “my friend is collapsing here, we need an ambulance.” The owner then said: "That's not my problem. Please go out the door and call an ambulance yourself. You all have cell phones in your pockets." So the young man was actually thrown out and vegetated around the Jägerhof in front of the door without any help. There was another unpleasant encounter with the lady who paid before me. When asked if the food tasted good, she said hesitantly: "Unfortunately not at all. I couldn't eat this or that." The immediate response was: “Why didn’t you say something directly?” In my opinion, a cheap attempt at blame reversal. The lady then said: “That wouldn’t have changed anything, it’s a fundamental problem.” The only answer was: “You still have to pay for it”. The lady said: "That wasn't my point, I'll pay. You just asked". Another dialogue about being embarrassed when dealing with customers. I recommend everyone not to go there again. Anyone who treats other people like this shouldn't get their money.

Ordered three estate steaks, all 3 are very tough! We are disappointed.

Was here for the first time today after the restaurant was recommended to me. I have to say I wasn't disappointed. It is a large estate with a great view of the landscape. The store is huge and the service was very friendly and accommodating. There is also a large terrace. We took a salad from the salad bar beforehand and it turned out lush. The selection was varied and the salads were freshly prepared. Actually, the salad would have been enough for me as a dish. We then ordered 2 estate steaks each 600g and 1x lamb skewer with fries and fried potatoes. Unfortunately, the fried potatoes were a bit cold inside, but they were exchanged immediately and without any fuss and we got a new one. The meat was impeccable, incredibly tender and very tasty. I've never eaten such a good steak. The portion was of course huge and I could hardly manage it. I am still impressed by the quality of the meat and the unique charm that the estate reflects with its rural style. In the entrance area you could take a direct look at the various meat products. I have a clear recommendation. There is good food and a great atmosphere here.

The old steakhouse Gut Jägerhof is a special place for me. The famous number 42 Gutshof steak, a streaky entrecôte with bones, is a pleasure every time. Perfectly grilled, tender and full of flavor - it couldn't be better! In summer the visit becomes even more beautiful: the view over the Erkrath landscape is simply fantastic. Added to this is the friendly service and the cozy, rustic atmosphere that invites you to linger. For anyone looking for good food and a great atmosphere, Gut Jägerhof is highly recommended!

Very good food in a well-kept atmosphere on the outskirts of Erkrath. However, prices have risen in recent years to such an extent that the steak has a strong aftertaste! We always enjoyed being there - and quality also has its price. But unfortunately that goes beyond our scope...

Düsseldorf’s steak and lamb chops are highly recommended. On warmer days, you can enjoy the beautiful outdoor scenery while dining, making it an even better experience! The kids’ menu is also great and worth trying.

We were kicked out by the boss because our little dog whined and barked once because he was scared. The food and the ambience are A1, but we have never experienced anything so rude and unprofessional. That was the last time we visited this restaurant.

We had dinner with six people and were served very nicely and attentively. The portions were quite large, the meat was cooked the way it was requested and the side salad was very tasty and filling. Unfortunately, the sea bream was more like a sushi restaurant, there was a lot of blood inside, the meat was glassy towards the bones, which of course couldn't be removed until they were as soft as butter. Apparently frozen quality, not freshly caught and sufficiently fried. After all, the fish cost 27.80 euros. The waitress just said it was normal here when I showed her the bloody, uneaten and undercooked leftovers. This led to general amusement at our table, unfortunately not to a discount or a schnapps afterwards to possibly restore stomach hygiene. So remember: never order seafood at a steak restaurant ;-).

Super delicious food and nice service

Meat quality is no longer as good as it used to be. Salad buffet bowls are smaller than before and the selection is no longer as valuable. For example, it was missing E.g. sausage salad and tuna! Prices are now at a level that no longer offers any advantages compared to restaurants that are much easier to reach. Too bad!

There was nothing to complain about, the service was top, as was the food and the atmosphere was rustic and very cozy!!!

Today we had something to eat at the Jägerhof with my wife and two small children. Both salads we ordered (main salad and trout) were dirty and sandy. When we asked, the service staff and then the manager explained to us that the cleaning machine was defective and that 8 out of 10 people would not complain about the dirty goods. Any basic understanding of the catering industry for clean products and the avoidance of bacterial contamination is missing here. When I pointed out that I would remove the salad offer from the program until hygiene was restored, I was met with a lack of understanding. There would be no less sales with salads at the moment and I see no reason. Last time for us.

The Gut Jägerhof restaurant is located just outside and has indoor and outdoor seating with a very nice view. The menu offers a good selection of dishes, and you can choose your side dish and sauce as desired. The service was good, the waiter was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious.

Located on the top of the hill with a scenic view over the valley. Charcoal grilled meats with a lovely smokey flavour. Large sized cuts with very acceptable pricing (especially the children’s menu). Attentive friendly service.

We were here for the first time today. We are absolutely thrilled. Yes, the restaurant is more expensive, but the quality is also very good. We felt very comfortable and valued right from the start. I've been noticing for a long time that the quality of meat is getting worse, both in terms of the meat and the ability to grill it properly...yesterday there was confirmation of this again!

If you like to eat well-prepared meat, this is the right place for you. The side dishes cost extra, some dishes come with something. I think children's plates for €10 are ok. Unfortunately the wine is quite expensive. I really liked the atmosphere, just a hunting lodge. The service was very attentive and friendly.

The two of us had dinner today and it was really great. The staff is very accommodating, friendly and simply committed. The food was very tasty and you can taste the passion and dedication when cooking. The dressings and sauces are all homemade and nothing comes from a bag. All in all, we were thrilled and will definitely come back. An absolute recommendation to anyone who appreciates very good cuisine.

Good location, especially in spring or summer, with a beautiful view of the countryside. Food was good, but very expensive. Each supplement is charged separately. But that doesn't seem to deter anyone, we were there on a Saturday evening and the place was buzzing. The German likes to complain at the highest level. Service was very good, staff friendly and no waiting times. Recommended but then don't complain about the prices afterwards 🤣

When butchers process and cook meat, the quality is simply right

Unfortunately, my visit to Gut Jägerhof was a bit disappointing, especially in terms of value for money. Charging 11 euros for a “large” and unique salad from the salad bar is quite steep. I found the price for a 300g fillet steak even more serious: an impressive 44.60 euros - and that without any side dishes! I would have expected at least a little more to be included in the price. Ambiance, service, etc. Overall, I unfortunately didn't find the prices appropriate in relation to the service.

I had a dish from the lunch/daily menu that was a delicious portion of goulash.

The restaurant is a bit old. But they can still conjure up first-class steaks on the plate. My medium was medium rare, the others were on point. Huge self-service salad buffet. Delicious Side dishes are extra but you can combine everything freely

We were in Oberhausen and decided to dine here for the 2nd time because of the beautiful view of the landscape, the area in front of the restaurant is also beautiful with the hanging branches of trees. The food here is actually delicious, a large piece of tender meat, various side dishes and a children's menu for a very good price. We will definitely come back here when we are in the area.

The service was very attentive and courteous, but it would have been desirable to tell us that we were the last guests and whether we would like to pay. Maybe you don't do that in an upscale establishment, but it's not nice when all the employees are already demonstratively tidying up and you have the feeling that you should please leave, so it's better to talk to them openly and honestly. The food came really quickly after ordering and was very good, although the price was already in the upper segment. It may probably be justified for the quality, but for the average citizen it is only feasible for special occasions.

After about 20 years without visiting, I saved Gut Jägerhof as a middle-class, upscale address. Because of this positive memory, I decided to host my birthday dinner with the family here. Conclusion: -to order demolition cards like in a canteen -French fries unsalted -! Salad! -mayonnaise with the fries However, what is really crucial: -300g fillet steak for €45 rounded up WITH tendons (see photo - photo no longer available thanks to Google guidelines... policy violation...!?) - also not(!) buttery soft, somehow generally second-class quality (and I've already eaten a lot of steaks ... also for 80€ and up) -No regional beer in the Düsseldorf catchment region! Instead “Duckstein” (=Carlsberg). The Altbier is thin, quite light (little roasted aromas) and not really tasty. I would have expected delicious, regional Altbier here! The only positive thing for me: -the red wine from the Palatinate... (by the way, the only open red wine... also a really frightening selection...) Unfortunately we won't be coming back after this experience. The positive memory of the past could not be confirmed. Too bad.
