Gut Jägerhof in Erkrath

I expected a bit more for the price; the service was just okay, they forgot a few things, and we waited a long time to order new drinks.

Today was my first time at Gut Jägerhof restaurant, and I was absolutely delighted. The food was excellent, the location beautiful, and the atmosphere simply delightful. I'd especially like to commend our waitress, Olga – she was incredibly friendly, attentive, and warm. Her service alone makes us want to return. Highly recommended! We will definitely be back.

My favorite steakhouse in the greater Düsseldorf area. I think the value for money is excellent. My family and I have been coming here for years and the quality has remained consistently good. The steak tastes great, the beer is good, and the service is friendly. The prices are fair for a steakhouse, and you definitely won't leave full!

It’s a great grill house set in the middle of nature, with an extensive menu and delicious dishes, everything we tried was excellent.

The meat was very good. The side dishes were okay. The combination was overpriced. Four of us were there for a pleasant evening and to celebrate a personal occasion. Things got uncomfortable around 10:00 PM, and the manager was abrupt and unfriendly when we paid at 10:30 PM. (Opening hours until 11:00 PM)

Good food and very friendly owners and staff. Good, home-style cooking at a reasonable price. So, no fancy stuff on the plate, and a normal price :-). Due to the size of the restaurant, you have to be lucky to get a table or make a reservation early. In summer, it's a bit more relaxed, as tables are added on the terrace.

Very good steakhouse. I recommend the potato sack with bacon as a side dish. It's unique! The beans with bacon were also great. By the way, we stopped here for cake on a short hike. They don't serve cake here. So we had steaks and didn't regret it!

The ambiance is very nice. The 300g rum steak is tough. You need very good teeth.

The quality of the meat in general has deteriorated considerably! It's quite dry, tough, and the taste isn't comparable to what it used to be! But even with the salad of the day, I had the impression that the quality had changed.

One of the best country tavern-style restaurants. In many respects. Huge tasty steaks, freshly cut, cooked to perfection, internal atmosphere, huge outside terrace....and the view to the german countryside..unbeatable! Family friendly, friends friendly, corporate too I guess. For people like me that live in nearby countries, the prices are also unbelieavably low. They used to be even lower but after corona everything went up. Still very fair pricing for what special you get. This is why I like Germany 😇😇

We haven't been there in a long time, but we weren't disappointed. The steaks were cooked to perfection. The side dishes were delicious and plentiful. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos. We finished with ice cream with hot cherries and chocolate mousse.

Perhaps the Dutch aren't used to paying for sauce separately with their steak and fries. The service was very superficial, and I didn't find the owner/manager particularly friendly or hospitable.

Recently went back for steak. Prices have gone up a bit, at €29 for 600 grams. But the quality of the steak was excellent.

Pretty good steak restaurant in the Düsseldorf area since decades. No fancy dishes… just tasty pieces of meat. Picture shows the „Kalbssattel“

Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio wasn't right here. The steaks we ordered were well cooked (cooked medium-rare) but unfortunately lightly seasoned. There's salt and pepper at the table, so you can easily adjust the seasoning. The Béarnaise sauce was very thick and had lumps in it...it seemed slightly curdled from the egg or thickened with starch. In any case, it had nothing to do with a fresh Béarnaise sauce. (There was no taste of tarragon or chervil, and it was only lukewarm.) The chanterelle mushrooms with the steak were simply mushy and had no roasted aromas or culinary refinement. The presentation of the dishes is rather old-fashioned and dated. Serving a fillet steak on a side plate with a leaf of lollo bionda and a quarter of a tomato as a garnish is, in my opinion, not appropriate these days... Due to the high volume of guests, we didn't mention the shortcomings directly. The service was good and attentive, and the view from the terrace is beautiful. The overall concept was unfortunately frustrating and not worth the price.

The host was very rude to us. He said everything in a demeaning tone and we felt like he looked down upon us.

Unfortunately, it was absolutely disappointing. The staff was unfriendly, and the value for money was not right. It's a shame. We returned to Gut Jägerhof after a long break for a birthday. We ordered the meat medium, but unfortunately, both steaks were overcooked. The fries weren't in the fryer long enough. The wedges were cold and old, probably having been sitting around for a while. We won't be coming back.

Great restaurant with a fantastic view

I reserved a table for lunch for four people for my 62nd birthday. We would all have loved to have the salad buffet with our main courses. Starting at €12.50 per person, it seemed overpriced to me. The salad served was sad, bland, and sandy. We complained and had it replaced immediately. Nevertheless, it remained unimaginative in its composition. Combining the dishes (everything has to be chosen individually) makes it quite expensive overall. It's confusing and overwhelming for older people to choose each dish individually. The ambiance inside, unfortunately, disappointed me; the overall impression is extremely dark and wood-heavy. It's beginning to show its age. The restaurant's location is beautiful and definitely worth a visit in the summer.

The food is very, very delicious. The meat, vegetables, and sauces are excellent. The view from the terrace is beautiful. Perfect for nature lovers. I will definitely recommend it and come back.

The star here is the meat. The fillet steak was cooked perfectly to order, medium rare. It tastes exactly as it should. The consistency and quality are excellent. The side dishes are also good, as are the salads and sauces. The prices here are far from cheap (e.g., port fried potatoes €5.30, fillet steak 200g €37.50) and are more on the upscale side. But it's definitely worth the price. The service seemed very rushed overall, but was always friendly and attentive.

After a less than warm welcome, there was an excellent meal outside on the sun terrace with a wonderful view.

Unfortunately, the visit fell short of our expectations. The entrecôte we ordered from the specials menu looked like a typical rump steak – lean, with no fat, no marbling, and tasted the part. After a brief discussion with the chef, who merely pointed out the fat on the edge, the dish was removed from the bill without comment. We would have appreciated a more comprehensible explanation or clarification at this point. The waitress later said herself that she actually knows entrecôte differently. One wonders which cut was served here. We've never encountered anything like it before. Other dishes were also not cooked to the right degree. A sirloin steak, ordered medium, arrived well-done and poorly trimmed. The fries were pale, and the salad consisted of green salad with lots of dressing. The jacket potato was good. The service was matter-of-fact and distant. The parting comment, "It's fucking hot today," unfortunately fit the overall impression. Disappointing considering the pricing.

I can fully recommend this restaurant. I live in Düsseldorf since 2010 and have visited this restaurant for a long time and have never been disappointed. Stakes are really really good and side dishes are also good. The steaks and all the food are really delicious! If you are visiting Düsseldorf or passing through this area, I highly recommend you stop by for a steak. The price is not cheap, but the portions are definitely not small and the taste is really good~ However, it is difficult to get there by public transportation, so you must have a car to visit^^

Although it's in the higher price range, the price/performance ratio is still good. Excellent quality, very tasty. The mixed ice cream for dessert is also excellent, and note: real cream, not whipped cream. Highly recommended.

A beautiful property, meat and steak in all varieties, very good and delicious, idyllically located in Erkrath, almost a vacation feeling on the outskirts of the city with a great view. The prices are, of course, reasonable.

We have been loyal guests at the Jägerhof for over 15 years and have always looked forward to the visit - despite it being over an hour's drive away. It was a special place for us. But since the change of ownership, things have unfortunately become more and more disappointing each time. Yesterday we reached the point where we had to say with a heavy heart: That was our last visit. The steaks we were so looking forward to were a disaster. We ordered it medium – we got it almost cooked through. Tough, dry, old-looking and really bad in taste. It was sad to see how the quality that we once valued so much has been completely lost. The service was equally disappointing. The waiter seemed overwhelmed, disorganized and sometimes even confused. And as if all that wasn't enough, several starters were also charged twice on the bill. It was only because I checked again that we were spared a mistake that cost almost 40 euros. It hurts to have to say this - but we won't be coming back.

Probably one of the best locations in the entire area - with outstanding service, delicious food and a fantastic view from the window. The terrace is simply breathtakingly beautiful. We'll definitely be back!

Menu clear, but completely sufficient for different tastes, senior and children's dishes, very good meat dishes, salad buffet available. Also suitable for larger families and groups at short notice. Price-performance okay. Good parking options.

The name says it all. Fantastic food with organic meat from our own organic farm. The service, the ambience and the view of the countryside are also great. The meat you produce yourself can also be taken away from a counter that has been set up for this purpose and sold outside the home.

Mmmm...that was delicious! Fillet steak tender as butter and prepared to perfection. Salad crisp, dressing delicate. All the other side dishes and sauces we ordered were perfectly prepared and tasted excellent. Plus a friendly atmosphere and nice employees. What more could you want?

If you like big steaks, you've come to the right place. Very tasty and large, tender on the inside and with butter on the steak. I think the price is also reasonable. If it is spring or summer you have a beautiful view and you can take a walk right after dinner to let the food sink in.

Unfortunately, we were turned away right at the door because it said that this was a steak house and not a café (since we “just” wanted to eat desserts and have a coffee), even though there were plenty of seats inside and outside. The person at the entrance then turned away from us in an unfriendly way. It's a shame, we would have liked to have given the “Gut Jägerhof” a chance.

This location is not wheelchair accessible: You have to go up or down stairs to get to all tables. Stairs also lead to the “normal” toilets. There are no accessible toilets. It is unclear why this restaurant displays the wheelchair symbol. There is only one table right at the entrance, which is very drafty and can be reached with a wheelchair. The entrance is difficult due to the narrow door, and the receptionist is of no help whatsoever. Very unfortunate...

I've been eating here since I was a child and the service is always very friendly. The atmosphere is fantastic, especially when you sit on the terrace in summer. The food is always very good too.

Unconditionally yes, Whether you haven't been there for 3 weeks, months or years, you will be treated as if your last visit was just yesterday. The food is simply great, tasty and of high quality. You can tell that there are butchers in the background who know their craft. I've been coming here for ages and I enjoy coming back every time
