Restaurant in a scenic location with a large parking lot and excellent cuisine. The steaks are fried to perfection and the side dishes leave nothing to be desired.

After about 20 years without visiting, I saved Gut Jägerhof as a middle-class, upscale address. Because of this positive memory, I decided to host my birthday dinner with the family here. Conclusion: -to order demolition cards like in a canteen -French fries unsalted -! Salad! -mayonnaise with the fries However, what is really crucial: -300g fillet steak for €45 rounded up WITH tendons (see photo - photo no longer available thanks to Google guidelines... policy violation...!?) - also not(!) buttery soft, somehow generally second-class quality (and I've already eaten a lot of steaks ... also for 80€ and up) -No regional beer in the Düsseldorf catchment region! Instead “Duckstein” (=Carlsberg). The Altbier is thin, quite light (little roasted aromas) and not really tasty. I would have expected delicious, regional Altbier here! The only positive thing for me: -the red wine from the Palatinate... (by the way, the only open red wine... also a really frightening selection...) Unfortunately we won't be coming back after this experience. The positive memory of the past could not be confirmed. Too bad.

There are always tables available, no matter what time of day. We have enjoyed coming there for more than 30 years. Nice large terrace with great views. The inside is now showing its age, but it's not unpleasant. Lots of wood, lots of half-timbering. Cozy. Prices have increased steadily and steadily since 2001. Let's see how long we can afford this, it would be a real shame. Because the food was and still is of high and delicious quality!

I have never felt so welcome in a restaurant. Immediately upon entering we are asked whether we want to sit inside or outside, whether we want to sit in the sun or in the shade. After we take a seat on the terrace with a beautiful view, an extremely friendly waiter immediately comes to take the order and also has a chat. Smooth service and delicious food! A top restaurant!

The Gut Jägerhof is a very good restaurant where you are welcome. Because it's a little out of the way, you can usually get a table even without a reservation. We like going there because the dishes taste great and fill you up.

I have been here many times. Compared with the steakhouses in Dusseldorf that are now experiencing rising prices, this place has an advantage in terms of price. As long as you don’t pursue the steak with great taste and only pursue affordable prices, you can come here to eat hard! The fried onions here are more delicious!

All I can say again and again is that Gut Jägerhof is a great restaurant. The best steaks in the area are served here and the rest of the menu is also highly recommended. The staff is super nice and the view from the terrace (if you sit outside when the weather is good) is absolutely beautiful. We always enjoy eating here. The price is absolutely worth the quality of the food.

We expected more. The medium-rare steaks were good, but the side dishes were quite bland. The fried potatoes weren't crispy and didn't taste strong. The Mediterranean vegetables were limp, meaning they were overcooked and not particularly aromatic. You searched in vain for the garlic flavor in the garlic sauce. All in all, pretty average for the price. While we were there, only Japanese guests ate there with a corresponding level of noise. Despite the wonderful atmosphere, we probably won't go there again.

The steaks and side dishes were tasty, nothing special but solid. Unfortunately our waitress was unfriendly and seemed very annoyed. That's not possible at this price level!

On our last visit the food was tastier, this time the Gutshof steak wasn't that good and the quality of the beef medallions wasn't that good either, there was a lot of stuff that had to be cut out, a shame for the price.

We went there to celebrate the 42 yrs birthday, it’s quiet and nice dinner. Service lady was super nice, and the steak is amazing.

We were here in the late afternoon, very nice place with a great view outside. We had US beef, striploin with baked onions and fillet steak. Both on point medium. Side dishes were also very tasty. The service was quick, friendly and competent. It's a shame that the "quality wines" on the menu are not named according to origin, winemaker, etc. In this price segment, a classification similar to that for meat would be desirable.

The owner with the glasses discriminates against foreigners because of their skin color. I felt like that. He doesn't give the Asians any seats and says as if the foreigners don't speak German. Apart from that, it was tasty. Personally I wouldn't recommend it to foreigners.

The best meat and alcohol in the best location. On the last day of my business trip to Dusseldorf, my senior colleague took me there as a consolation gift. Enjoy a hearty steak and a glass of German beer while looking out at the grassland scenery outside the window. It's a great restaurant. They came in a group, no matter what country they were from, but it was a little rude, and I hope it doesn't ruin the atmosphere of the restaurant. This may be the fate of popular restaurants. This was a very bad dining experience. The quality of service from the staff was poor. I hope the restaurant owner can better manage the service attitude of the employees.

Last weekend I ate at your restaurant with my family. Unfortunately I have to inform you that we are very dissatisfied with the service! During our family dinner we realized we were missing a plate. When we reported this to the waitress we were told that there can't be too many plates. We were very surprised and disappointed by this statement, as it was a completely normal and understandable request. One of our guests simply didn't have a plate, which is of course not acceptable in a restaurant. However, the waitress's rude and unprofessional reaction wasn't the only problem. Even when the manager was called in, there was no apology for the inconvenience. Instead we continued to be treated rudely. Such behavior is unacceptable in the catering industry and leaves guests with an extremely bad impression. I hope that you will take this complaint seriously and take appropriate action to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future. Unfortunately, due to this negative experience, I cannot recommend your restaurant and will not visit it again.

The service is absolutely bad!!! When you want to order something, the waitress stands 2 meters away from you as if you were a virus!!! You ask her to come closer because you don't want to scream... Very good food, both meat and fish are well prepared and of very good quality. The side dishes and the salad bar are also highly recommended. There are enough parking spaces directly on site. When the weather is nice you can also sit outside. Definitely worth a visit!

Rest area ambience... Outdoor terrace could be nice but unfortunately it was closed. Service was slow and unfocused (forgot to order and then brought the wrong food and just a normal wheat beer instead of non-alcoholic beer). 44€ euros for fillet steak without any side dishes is more than outrageous (usury) and a 0.2 apple juice for more than 4€ is more than cheeky to be served at the cat table with no prospect or hope. The first and last time, it's not too much to ask for something warm to eat with your partner and this should be what you order. Can't understand the many positive reviews. Even if the crowded parking lot does me an injustice, I will continue to drive past this local and now be certain that I won't miss anything.

We ate there yesterday and the waiter was super nice and was able to help us even if we had gluten intolerances. Food came in a reasonable time and was very tasty. The decor is very funny, just like it was back in the 80s. However, the seating is very tight and when guests arrived at the neighboring table it became difficult to move. In addition, the drinks are all only 0.2l which I think is very small for the price. It is shown by Google with a €. That is definitely not true. It was already expensive, which isn't a bad thing if the quality and performance are good. But if you rely on Google, it's annoying when it's so expensive. Didn't have a salad but the salad bar looked really great. Definitely coming back.

I can't understand all the positive reviews here. The service is sublime. I was showered with a drink by the waiter, no one cared. The meat was great, but hidden under so many onions that after a successful search you were shocked at how little 200g of meat was. Prices are out of this world €30 for a portion of meat with onions and sauce are cheeky. You have to order the side dishes separately and pay (expensively). Special requests were laughed at by the waitress, sayings like, "If the boss pays more, the service will be better / We don't specialize in drinks, etc." Been here for the first and last time.

Plenty of food, good atmosphere

Always difficult for an Italian found good meat, good steak in a restaurant. Here there's a nice choice and the quality is not so bad. Amazing restaurant and location.

Outdated restaurant. Beautiful view and large terrace. Weizen was delicious and the steak was also great. Salad buffet well stocked and lots of choice. There is room for significant modernization.

The steak on the bone was ok. The burger patty was far dry and tasteless. The wheat non-alcoholic is massively overpriced at 6.50 euros. The bottle costs maybe 70 cents in the retail store. Facility is very outdated. A little work with a broom and a bucket of paint could do wonders. Never again!

We've been here a few times for steak, the meat is of impeccable quality (which of course has its price!) Yesterday evening I received my fillet through instead of medium for the first time, I gave a short notice and the management offered two suggested solutions to choose from without any fuss - it couldn't be better! The furnishings, like everywhere else, are a matter of taste; it is a converted barn, so the ambience is rustic. When it comes to service, it depends on who you get. Was served yesterday by a nice young lady, 14 days earlier on the terrace by an older lady who I think was wishing for the end of the day.

Quaint restaurant with a beautiful view over the Hubbelrather Bachtal. The food is very tasty, especially the Düsseldorf-style sirloin steak is a clear recommendation.

Very sad to see this old manor house falling into disrepair…. Property maintenance and simple things like cleaning windows, tidying up, etc. are not seen here, or only to a very limited extent. The menus were changed by hand 😮 the whole thing is reminiscent of a slightly better Yugo chip shop. There is one plus point: the meat was completely fine.

The terrace wasn't open when the weather was nice, a shame 😔 The furnishings inside were all getting old, quite old. Unfortunately, the food didn't appeal to me at all. The food is simply too expensive, so I only ate two side dishes.

The meat selection is great. The toilet can only be reached via awkward stairs.

The steak was really great, the rest was nothing special. They want to play in the top league, but ruin everything with cut place mats and laminated menus with corrected (with ballpoint pen) prices. Apparently the change would be too expensive. It's a shame actually.

Recommended, at least for those who like to eat good meat and also have a soft spot for Mediterranean cuisine, although there is also local cuisine, such as sirloin steak with a wonderful mustard crust. Update April 2024: Prices increased, we were no longer satisfied with the food. The service was friendlier. We were there on Ascension Day 2023. The weather was great, but you couldn't sit outside. Unfortunately it was very loud inside. Not a cozy atmosphere that invites you to linger, but rather a canteen feel. In terms of volume and appearance. The service staff seemed stressed. Food was ok so far. Unfortunately, every side dish, even sauce, has to be ordered and paid for separately. A lot of money for food in an uncomfortable and noisy environment.

Ever since I could think, pay and drive myself (80s) we have been going to the GJH for steak dinner. Unfortunately, the furniture, lamps and decorations are also out of date! The prices are no longer funny and the meat was better. The dust on the lamps and decorations is now clearly visible. So walk slowly past the tables otherwise it will trickle onto the steaks. A complaint was only dealt with with the advice “then you should choose the meat yourself at the counter”. For us, the tradition has now come to an end. 40€ for our steak without any side dishes is simply too much for this atmosphere and fast food restaurant. Off to a new provider. Everything old is not good.

The steaks here, very good. Each side dish costs extra but it's worth it. Very clean, friendly staff. I'm already looking forward to summer because there is an outside terrace with a unique view. We will be back! Highly recommended for me! 👍

This is the worst place I have ever been in Germany. The food was horrible and I didn’t even eat it. They refused to replace the dish I have ordered because the kitchen was closing. So I ended up leaving the restaurant hungry.

If you are hungry you should come. If you want tasty steak you should come. If you want to make a special trip to eat, you must come and experience tasty steak.

We have been to this restaurant many times. Unfortunately the restaurant has deteriorated recently. The steak was like the sole of a shoe. Unfortunately the burger wasn't tasty at all. The fish was also ordered - but unfortunately it was partly cooked and partly raw. The waiter never showed up with a menu. We took it ourselves :) In the end she brought us dirty cutlery and placemats. However, prices here have still risen sharply. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend it. P.S. Luckily they didn't manage to spoil the beer. :) And, yes, the view from the window is still breathtaking!

I got a senior plate. 120g meat, 4 croquettes and ready for €22! Absolute impudence. Normal plate 720g, plus salad and side dish costs €29. Absolute rip-off and mediocre quality is more than inappropriate! I would never eat here again! Service is an absolute disaster! Calls us a-hole in Italian and when asked we are told we think we are important... you don't need to know anything more

Delicious food for every taste. The specialty is certainly meat dishes, but as a vegetarian I also found a delicious dish. We were served very friendly and the rustic ambience with a wonderful view over the terrace and fields made the restaurant experience special. Highly recommended!

The meat is very tough and inedible. The meat portions are at least 50-70g lighter than stated. The soft drinks cost 0.2 for €3.7, which is definitely too expensive. The salad bar for €11 per plate isn't worth the money either. Side dishes tasteless. The ambience is great but you leave the restaurant unsatisfied.

It's rare that a restaurant that you found unforgettable as a child can still evoke the same enthusiasm decades later. But Gut Jägerhof does it. Very good food, fantastic location. Some stairs in the interiors make for many seemingly closed off areas, very charming.

We were here some time ago and ordered some small things and beer, so I can't say anything about the quality of the meat. The food was okay, prices a bit high, but you have a great view. Now the prices have increased even further, so that, for example, a piece of wheat costs a disproportionate €6.50. A pity.

The atmosphere is a bit old-fashioned at times, but the steak is absolutely fantastic. Update: I wrote this review 3 years ago, but unfortunately the quality of the food has dropped rapidly, only the prices have gone up. We visited this restaurant very often as a family and probably spent a total of several thousand euros here. During the last three visits we had to complain about the degree of doneness of at least one steak. A 200g rump steak was ordered “medium rare” and delivered “medium well” at best. Today a 300g fillet steak with dark red inside was delivered to me for the third time. This was complained about and 5 minutes later the same piece of meat was delivered to me almost completely cooked through (maybe a 5mm strip of pink in the middle, the rest completely cooked through). To top it all off, the female head waitress (?) basically responds negatively to a customer complaint with "No, that's medium". Good lady, I've had a few fillet steaks in a few steakhouses in my life. Do I really have to open a photo on my phone to explain what “medium” means in a ->steakhouse<-?! (If anyone is reading here - medium means pink. Not through, not dark red inside -> pink. The thickness of the steak cannot be an excuse here, a 300g fillet steak can easily be cooked to medium medium, even by a layman like me - let alone in A STEAKHOUSE.) First blaming the customer and then serving me a completely cooked piece of fillet "especially now" is simply an impudence. A complaint to the boss resulted in the same defensive attitude, "the guest sees it the wrong way", "pink wouldn't be possible with this piece of meat"?? No insight, no accommodation, no thought of service whatsoever. I can only speculate that the kitchen doesn't have the time to properly cook a 300g fillet to medium rare, but detecting doneness by pressure (or using a damn thermometer if necessary) is something any second-rate chef should be able to do. Gut Jägerhof used to be a really pleasant restaurant that served good steaks at reasonable prices. (Strangely enough, a 300g medium fillet used to be no problem at all - see also the photo from 2020). If I pay almost €50 for a piece of meat in a steakhouse, I expect to receive what I ordered. We were here for the last time.

We are regular customers and always have delicious food there

This was my second visit today and it was again very good. The two of us were there on a Saturday lunchtime and, in addition to two non-alcoholic drinks, we had a daily special - chop with grilled vegetables and croquettes and Angus fillet with garlic sauce and fries. The service was very good, the meat quality and preparation with cooking level very good, the side dishes very good. At lunchtime there were plenty of parking spaces in both parking lots and there was no shortage of space in the restaurant either. At first glance, the restaurant is not cheap, as the side dishes are ordered alongside the meat dishes, but the quality of the meat here must once again be highly valued. We will be back!

Our steak restaurant for 30 years! We go there about twice a year. Consistently high quality and very fast service; mostly friendly, sometimes a bit “rough”.

We were there for dinner on: 01/04/24. The food we ordered was OK Unfortunately, the 12% VAT was charged. excessively increased. The senior plate from: € 19.95 including salad, to: € 22.20 without salad. An additional salad was charged at: €5.40. A 0.75 liter. Bottle of mineral water, was SAGE u. WRITE charged at €7.2O. Ps.: there is no medium mineral water and there is only one salad dressing! (In the past, between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., it was much more "FULL"! I think that was also the case to do the hefty price increases has.?????
