Very tasty food, top service and good ambience

I had a very nice evening here with my fellow students and everything was great.

Wir waren zu viert als Kommilitonen für ein Mittagessen in diesem wunderschönen Restaurant und wir haben es uns allen schmecken gelassen. Wir hatten nichts zu bemerken und wurden alle zufrieden gestellt.

It was our second time and it is worth. Staff is polite and food was also good. Overall good experience

Very, very tasty Indian food in a cozy atmosphere. The food was very good. I had menu 2 with various meat dishes, salad and dessert (see photo) for 22 euros. The drinks were also very tasty. The waitress was very attentive and served us everything correctly. Highly recommended!!

Rude and unprofessional staff. When you check online for reservations they show as they are fully booked however when you walking you will realise there is not even a single guest having meal there. Not sure about food as I returned from the placed the moment I encountered rude staff.

The food is great! An Indian restaurant exactly how I imagine it. The service was also very accommodating and super friendly! My friend really liked it too. It definitely wasn't the last time we ate here.

Nice outdoor terrace on the side of Merianplatz. The staff is friendly and the food comes quickly. The food tastes ok but the portion size is a joke. Bad value for money.

We came in 2 hours before the kitchen closed and were greeted rudely. The waiter was super annoyed and wanted us to order and leave as quickly as possible. Never experienced such bad service😭 We only ordered appetizers as we felt rushed and they were okay.

As soon as we entered we were warmly greeted and the hospitality of the staff was impressive. The food was simply fantastic – fresh, aromatic and prepared with great attention to detail. Every course was a pleasure. Individual requests were also promptly addressed. An all-round successful day that I can recommend to everyone.

Das "SWAAD" hat sehr nette Mitarbeiter, eine ausgezeichnete Karte und super leckeres Essen! Direkt am Merianplatz im Frankfurter Nordend gelegen kann ich dieses indische Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen. Ich bin Yogi-Tee-Fan und für mich ist gut gemachter Yogi-Tee beim Inder ein Qualitätsmerkmal. Der Yogi-Tee hier wird ganz frisch zubereitet und schmeckt hervorragend. Es geht aus meiner Sicht kaum besser, wer also einen tollen Inder sucht, bei dem Preis und Leistung absolut stimmen, sollte hier unbedingt einkehren.

Online food ordering including payment via PayPal possible, although the restaurant is closed, which was only visible when we arrived for collection. No response received when asked. It's better to order locally to check whether the restaurant is actually open.

The restaurant was closed today, March 14th, 2024, with no indication why and no information to us. We had a confirmed reservation for 9 people and found the door closed and the shutters drawn. It doesn't work at all!!!

Update from March 24th, 2024: the restaurant has been closed for several weeks without any notice. Therefore only 1 star. Experience from 1.1.24: A service, an ambience and a food that tempts you to come back to this place. Our service employee Sikander was always attentive and friendly. Recommended: Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Jalfrezi, Plain Naan. Plus a Rioja. Simply delicious.

Very disappointed!!! in google says it’s open at 17:30hrs we have waited in front of their door around 40min for them to open their restaurant. We called on the phone number which has given in google unfortunately no one answered our call At the end we went to someother restaurant.

Traveled specifically and reserved online and the store is simply closed! Impudence!!!!

The lunch menu for €11.90 (as pictured) is extensive with two main components to choose from. We had four different dishes, three of which were very good. Chicken korma fell off a bit. The service is attentive and friendly.

Super. War lecker!!! Toller Service. Auf eine Unverträglichkeit von uns wurde Rücksicht genommen. Alles sehr sauber. Unser Kellner Mannu war toll er hat sich sehr angenehm um uns gekümmert. Wir haben extra eine andere Süßspeise bekommen, aufgrund der Unverträglichen. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Absolute Empfehlung!

I ordered Chicken Biryani. Although instead of using expensive chicken breasts, chicken legs would go way better. The quantity served was enough for one person. But a bit more onion and garlic can be used to make the gravy strong that enhances the flavor. Most importantly biryani should have some mix of white rice on the top garnished with mint and fried onions. Good for German taste but if made better I guess the Germans would get used to the original flavor than a softened version. Nobody will ever dislike good Biryani even if it ruins their day later, just saying. 😏

Wir sind immer wieder zu Gast im Swaad und mit der Qualität des Essens in der Regel sehr zufrieden. Wir ärgern uns aber jedesmal über den schlechten Service, weil Fragen zu den Speisen nicht verstanden und beantwortet werden können und Getränkebestellungen immer wieder fehlschlagen. Das ist wirklich schade, weil die Location sehr nett ist und wir gerne öfter kommen würden.

Sehr gutes indisches Restaurant mit fairen Preisen und netten Personal. Die Portionen waren sehr groß und alles hat insgesamt gut geschmeckt. Die Curries hätten aber etwas mehr gewürzt sein können.

Great food, great service. We took lamb/mutton vindaloo with rice, chicken tikka with nun. Both were delicious and food was plenty for us.

Amazing place with very very friendly stuffs and great food. Definitely comming back again. We ordered chicken tikka massal which is served with naans and curry sauce and Lamb vindaloo comes with fragrant basmati rice. We wanted the food according to subcontinent level spice and they adjusted the spice level for us accordingly. Both item was a winner. Chicken was so tender and full of flavor. So was the vindaloo. They also served green chilli and pickled onion. We indulged in a satisfying meal. Came with heart full amd happy tummy. Highly recommend.

Das Essen war lecker. Mit der Bedienung kann es besser laufen. Nicht weiter schlimm. Im Endeffekt waren rundherum zufrieden.

Der Service war super nett und aufmerksam. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr schön und hell. Man fühlt sich rundum wohl. Wir haben die vegetarische Vorspeisen Platte gegessen und jeder ein vegetarische Hauptspeise, es war super lecker. Ich komme sicherlich wieder!

So kurz kann ich das zusammenfassen: das "SWAAD" ist ein sehr gutes indisches Restaurant, innen gemütlich, außen mit großzügigem Freisitzbereich, stets aufmerksamem Service und einer Karte, die keine Wünsche offen lässt. Ob Curry oder aus dem Tandoor-Ofen, ob vegetarisch oder mit Fleisch - wir sind noch nie enttäuscht worden. Aber Achtung: scharf meint auch scharf... des Weiteren wäre die gute Weinauswahl zu erwähnen. Und eine Empfehlung gibt's zum Schluss: der "Old Monk", ein indischer Rum, rundet den Abend aufs Angenehmste ab. Es wird wohl nicht lange dauern, bis wir das SWAAD mal wieder besuchen.

A very fine experience in a quieter section of Frankfurt. A short walk from the Zeil, Swaad offers plenty of outdoor seating with quality design. The food we ordered was well prepared and comparable to higher end Indian restaurants. The service was attentive and friendly.

I visited this restaurant based on google reviews as it was one of the highly rated. The food tasted below average and was not properly seasoned - not with even an appropriate amount of salt, pepper or paprika. I feel it is overrated and just like any other Indian restaurants in Germany, there was pakora (bhaji) for starters - which was not properly cooked from inside, and those overly priced main courses. I do not understand the thing with pakoras and out of many delicious dishes, why do the Indian restaurants in Germany pick these as starters as they are oily, tasteless and pricy. For the maincourse, I took the thali as this was recommended and out of 3 curries, only one tasted fine and the rest tasted stale. My friend ordered chana masala and bhatura, trust me, you can prepare that tastier at your home. Overall, it was not worth it and I won’t recommend this restaurant unless there are any specific dishes you go for. The staff were only 2-3 people and clearly, they were not able to manage everything. Their service was good and there are no complaints on them.
