We went out for Indian food with friends for the first time today! 1. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive. 2. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. 3. The atmosphere was simply fantastic; we immediately felt very comfortable. We highly recommend this restaurant. Thanks to you, it was a wonderful evening with friends, complete with a fantastic meal.

We had a really lovely evening at Svaadish Winterhude. The food was excellent and everyone loved it. We'd especially like to commend Vivi – she was incredibly kind, attentive, and simply warm and welcoming. We felt right at home. We'd love to come back again!

We ate at Svaadish in Winterhude and were absolutely thrilled. The food was incredibly delicious, very aromatic, and authentically Indian; you could really taste the high quality of the ingredients. The spices were perfectly balanced, and everything was freshly prepared. The service was very friendly, attentive, and warm; you immediately feel welcome. The ambiance is also cozy and modern, ideal for a relaxing evening. The Christmas decorations were fantastic. Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in Hamburg. We'll definitely be back!

We had booked online shortly beforehand, but there were no tables available when we arrived. So we sat at a high table in the back. The service seemed a bit tense and stressed, even though the restaurant was still almost empty. The food was unfortunately very disappointing. The Dal Tadka, described on the menu as savory, was surprisingly bland – "no taste," as my better half said when she tried it. At €14.50, that's a real shame. The samosas were also underwhelming: the dough had hardly any flavor and tasted stale. Price: €7.90. Only the accompanying chutneys (more like sauces to me) were good. The Gol Gappa shots didn't taste right, even though it was my first time trying them. The Chicken Tikka Masala had an okay sauce, but it was far from being a properly grilled chicken with a flavorful sauce. The portion was also quite small – especially for €18.80. Overall, an overpriced, modern "fancy shop" where the most important thing – the food – unfortunately fails to impress, especially at these prices.

I was invited to my company's Christmas party and it was my first time back at SVAAdish Winterhude in ages. We were thrilled with our visit, from the decorations and food to the top-notch service. Everything was outstanding. Many thanks to Florian, Reza, and the entire team for making our Christmas party such a wonderful occasion. We'll definitely be back more often! ❤️

I ordered a chicken tikka masala from Wolt Special, and the portion was half the size. Why order a discounted dish if it's half the portion? The vegetables were overcooked, and the meat wasn't good. I took everything out and then saw that there were no vegetables at all, and what little there was was overcooked.

So, we can only give this place full marks. We had our Christmas party there yesterday and were greeted by a truly wonderful server, Lisa, who looked after us throughout the evening. She even took the time to remember the names of all eleven of us, which we all found very impressive. Her cheerful and warm personality made the already lovely evening even better – and the delicious food made it absolutely perfect. The restaurant itself looks really stylish and we liked it very much. So, a big thumbs up, keep up the good work! We'll definitely be back.

We went there for lunch and had the lamb thali. The lamb had such an intense "barnyard" flavor that I almost gagged; all the spices couldn't mask it. Please add a warning to the menu if you use mutton instead of young lamb. I regularly eat lamb (including Indian food), and I've never experienced anything like this. The dal soup was extremely salty.

We celebrated a birthday at Svaadish and had a really lovely evening. The restaurant was very pretty, the food was delicious, and everyone received a very generous portion. Our waiter was incredibly kind and attentive throughout the evening; he was from Munich and was really funny and accommodating. They even treated the birthday girl to dessert! 10/10

Last night we were in Hamburg and were wondering where to find good Indian food. Then we stumbled upon this place – and we're so glad we did! The food was absolutely delicious and completely won us all over. There were four of us, and we received incredibly friendly and attentive service throughout. I'd especially like to commend the bartender; he gave us excellent advice, was incredibly personable, and really enhanced the entire evening. All in all, a fantastic experience – we'll definitely be back!

Went in here by recommendation for a quick meal. Ended up being served very politely, friendly chat with a few servers including Tom and forgot to ask the guys name at the bar. The taste of the 'butter chicken's with garlic Naan' was also great and I've surely added it to my list as I travel to Hamburg every 2 months. 😫 Update – 30 August 2025 Something Drastically Changed !!! This has always been our go to place for Indian food... we loved everything about it! The taste, the food styling, even the cutlery and presentation were always perfect. I have brought so many guests here and proudly told them this is one of the best Indian restaurants around. But our visit on 30th August 2025 felt very different... even the food plating looked dull and the charm was missing. The dishes that once stood out in flavour and freshness tasted plain this time. The quality seems to have dropped suddenly and drastically... we all felt it. After that, we did not take the effort to drive to this place again... hoping things have changed for the better now. This restaurant still holds many good memories for us, and I truly wish to see it back to its best! ----------------------------------------- Always my favorite place to eat! It was delicious, but unfortunately, I have to say that something must have gone wrong yesterday. I don't have a sensitive stomach, I often eat Indian food, but I noticed something was off right after eating at the restaurant, and what can I say, it all came back up very quickly. 🥲

We dropped by spontaneously on a Wednesday evening without a reservation and were greeted very warmly and immediately given a table for two. The food was excellent and the service phenomenal – the young waiter had only been employed for a week at that point and served us superbly, politely, and warmly. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening!

This was our first time here and we really enjoy Indian food. Drink: Mango Lassi, good. Starter: Chicken 65, absolutely amazing and generously portioned, highly recommended. Main Courses: Lamb Tikka Tandoori, very good, only the rice was weak. Lamb Madras with vegetables, unfortunately specially seasoned and not classic Madras, but still solid. Atmosphere and Service: The shop is well decorated, with an open kitchen and plenty of space. The servers were very friendly. There's also parking directly in front of the shop. To properly rate everything, you might have to try other dishes. We'll definitely be back.

I've tried several vegetarian dishes so far. All the portions were delicious and generously sized. In the evenings, it's often very crowded and therefore quite loud, making it difficult to have a conversation. The prices on the lunch menu (especially the vegetarian Thali) are very fair; in my opinion, the regular dinner menu is a bit too high, considering the dishes are Indian classics and nothing extraordinary, even though they are delicious. However, the service is very friendly and proactively tries to make the visit as pleasant as possible.

Our waiter, Barbod, was incredibly attentive, never left a glass empty for long, and was very personable and in a great mood. It was truly enjoyable – and incredibly delicious, too!

Always delicious. We ordered a medium-spicy curry; we like it spicy, but medium was just right. The portions, including the rice, were good. The price-performance ratio is okay. Unfortunately, prices have risen dramatically everywhere recently, especially for drinks, especially wine. We find it a bit too expensive here, too. Last time, there was a 2-for-1 offer; we wish there were more of that. The service is all friendly and accommodating. For example, Flo and Nazira served us very nicely today. But I've also heard that everyone is really friendly. We'd be happy to come back anytime.

Absolutely delicious! One of the best Indian restaurant experiences I've had so far. The Papri Chaat was bursting with flavor—perfectly balanced between tangy, spicy, and sweet. I was here tonight and the food was fine. I ordered dal tadka and tandoori roti. A bit too little rice compared to the curry, but otherwise everything was ok. Unfortunately, my visit was overshadowed by a very unpleasant scene: While sitting inside, I witnessed a manager dressing down an obviously new employee in front of guests in a highly aggressive and condescending tone. The criticism was constant and seemed more like bullying than constructive feedback. The manager also didn't react well when I confronted him about it. I consider such behaviour to be inappropriate and unprofessional - it clearly tarnished my overall impression and I will never come back. Poor worker 😞

There were four of us there. The service was excellent, friendly, and very helpful. The food was delicious and well-seasoned. However, everything was only lukewarm, unfortunately not hot, and the portions were small, but again, too expensive. Hence 4 instead of 5 points.

The food was overpriced in our opinion – almost all dishes consisted mainly of rice with bread and various sauces. There was very little meat and shrimp, which was a shame! We paid €30 per person for our group. We wouldn't recommend it. The service was very friendly, but the wait was very long, even though there was almost no one else there (on a Sunday afternoon).

We're regulars here. We're usually very satisfied. But recently, the quality has declined considerably. When we inquired, we were told that some changes had been made to the menu and recipes. Unfortunately, I have to say, these are mostly negative. Axel, the owner, is doing the same thing as before. The food wasn't tasty, and we've always enjoyed eating here.

Simply fantastic. We were there for dinner yesterday; the atmosphere was wonderful, and the food was a big turn-off for Indian cuisine (I still had some reservations, but yesterday they turned into enthusiasm). A very special thank you to the team, and especially to Florian (Servus!), for how kind and accommodating he was to us, especially to my 87-year-old mother. The ambiance and aesthetic is mind-blowing. The food quality is not good. I expected more aroma and an enriching taste. Seek kebab was too dry and naan were to hard to tear. Mutton chops were too chewy. Overall a good experience.

The lunch menu is constantly changing, incredibly delicious and varied, with very friendly service and a short wait. Our absolute favorite Indian restaurant in Hamburg!

I placed an order through Wolt that evening and subsequently developed clear food poisoning. Out of respect, I first contacted the restaurant directly and matter-of-factly, requesting a refund. The response came quickly, stating that the refund had already been processed. Two weeks after my initial contact, however, nothing had happened. So I contacted Wolt directly. They confirmed that they hadn't received any notification from the restaurant. Wolt refunded me the money correctly and without complications within two days. It's a shame – I deliberately didn't want to write a public review, but wanted to resolve the issue directly. But if food poisoning isn't responded to reliably, it needs to be made public. Especially since similar cases appear in other reviews – especially around closing time.

I've been a regular at Svaadish for a long time and have always greatly appreciated the food. Unfortunately, I noticed some changes on my last visit that were a bit disappointing. The chicken in particular – especially the Chicken Tikka, which was always my absolute highlight – was no longer convincing in terms of taste and was very different from the usual standard. The restaurant still has a pleasant atmosphere and is generally recommended, but I have the impression that that certain something that once made Svaadish so special has been somewhat lost. I have to say a big thank you to the service, though – Florian gave us a warm welcome as always, took attentive care of us, and accommodated all our requests. Thank you very much for that!

I know, strange rating. This is not because of the food, service or atmosphere - all which are good. We have been going to Svaadish for years now and when we were there yesterday, we noticed that prices have gone up by about 25 - 30%! There are many options for Indian food, we will not be going back any time soon. Pity, the food is good - and I'm Indian!

We just had dinner, and the restaurant SVAAdish comes highly recommended. The menu offers delicious Indian food at a reasonable price. The service is excellent; I'd like to mention Florian Kreil. Friendly, competent, and fast, which is great. There's on-site parking. We'll be back.

If you prefer a quieter atmosphere, I recommend going during the week and before 7:00 or 8:00 PM, as it gets noisier after that. Inside, it's extremely loud on weekends and evenings; conversation is nearly impossible. However, the food and service are very good! I enjoy going there. It's just a shame it's located right on the street. But at least you can sit outside :)

We spent six days at the neighboring Hood House and ate dinner twice and burgers once at SVAAdish Winterhude. Great atmosphere, delicious food, and very friendly service! A special thank you to Flo – we'll definitely be back on our next visit to Hamburg :-)
