Ashirwad in Hamburg

I can't comment on the food as I haven't eaten here. I would like to complain that the delivery people you ordered put your advertising flyers in all the mailboxes in my house with the sign "No advertising, please". This has apparently become normal today. But it only causes annoyance for me, so I won't be ordering from you again. I think it would be good if this feedback were passed on to the delivery providers and this behavior was stopped.

My review is based on the experience of my last order, which I summarize as follows: 1) The order for the time arrived 30 minutes later than stated, which can happen from time to time. 2) Unfortunately, half of the order was forgotten. 3) After more than 1.5 hours the rest of the order came, but the wrong dish. In addition, the additional dish promised for the inconvenience was not delivered. 4) The second half of the order was not only wrong, but was also a cheaper dish, so we essentially paid more than we ultimately consumed. 5) Taste: In addition to the rather neutral taste, we unfortunately also found hair in the food. PS: Spicy dishes are not remotely spicy. If a zero star rating were possible, I would have given it.

I have no idea what the food is like here. I will never visit this restaurant just because of the annoying advertising in the mailbox. If there's no advertising there, I don't want to find your trash in my mailbox every few weeks.

Mega boring, with no real taste. Chicken Tikka Masala, supposedly spicy, just didn't taste like anything. I found the packaging in cardboard positive, but it is only burned.

We ordered. The food was really good! Soup, garlic bread, chicken and a spinach dish. Everything was super delicious! A little thing was forgotten to deliver, but it was still a lot of fun :)

Worst experience ever! I have made it clear several times that I do not want any advertising in my mailbox. Still, this restaurant put their brochure in there. This shows a great lack of respect for the wishes of residents and shows that they do not care about data protection and privacy. This intrusive advertising made me avoid the restaurant even though I was originally interested. If they ignore the wishes of potential customers when advertising, what will the on-site service be like? I am extremely disappointed and will make sure my friends and family avoid this restaurant as well.

This wasn't my first time ordering there. Food was delivered on time. It was hot and very tasty. However, I was very surprised at the price increase from one card to the next. On average €3 more per meal. I ordered two meals and naan bread once and had to pay €8 more than the “old” menu. That's a lot. I would still order again as the food is really tasty and the delivery is friendly and on time.

He gives you much more that what you have ordered We had lunch chicken and prawn biryani for lunch (23rd march ) and on the other day (27mar 2024) went to pick up food which is always freshly made. I had the food delivered and I was more than disappointed! I can't really say anything about the service and the ambience because I ordered the food, the delivery person was very friendly. But when it comes to food, I regularly eat Indian food at Shikara and the like, but they were already closed so I ordered a chicken curry at Ashirwad, but what came was a liquid, watery meal with no taste. That's not possible and has little to do with Indian food!! I cannot recommend the restaurant and will not order there again!!

Das ist das langweiligste indische Essen, das ich je gekostet habe... Und das will was heißen bei der Gewürzreichen und scharfen indischen Küche. Geschmacklich eine wirkliche Nullnummer. Außerdem fehlten offensichtlich Zutaten. Ich hatte "Vegetable Biryani" gebr. Reis mit versch. Gemüse, Cashewkerne Rosinen, hausgem. Käse und "exotischen" Gewürzen da zu Raita. Es waren definitiv keine Rosinen und keine Cashews drin. Das Gemüse konnte man auch einzeln abzählen: ein paar Erbsen, winzige Pilzstücke und 2-3 Bulmenkohlteile. Auch im "Raita" Joghurt war Kreuzkümmel weder sicht- nicht schmeckbar. Wir haben nachgewürzt, damit es nach etwas schmeckte, und können das Essen leider nicht empfehlen.

The first impression when you enter the restaurant is: this could be better. But you shouldn't let that fool you. From a culinary point of view, everything is perfect from start to finish. There were four of us and we tried it among ourselves and everything was really extremely tasty. In terms of taste, nothing stands in the way of another visit. What I didn't like was the pricing. Ultimately, €18 for a simple curry is really a lot of money.

Update: Today in January 2024 I received information from the Altona district office (consumer protection department) regarding my application from 2023 according to the Consumer Information Act. Why aren't such restaurants closed and these inspection results not published officially? My review 2 months ago (end of 2023): I have just written the following to the Office of Consumer Protection: Dear Sir or Madam, I was a guest in the following restaurant today, November 8th, 2023, from 9:00 p.m. to 9:40 p.m.: "Ashirwad" (India Restaurant), Bahrenfelder Chaussee 25, 22761 Hamburg (Cleaned from the Internet: Owner: Ashirwad UG, Managing Director: Ramesh Sharma) The “boss” or owner named to me by an employee Restaurants (presumably Mr. Ramesh Sharma) has a very bad cough. I have this in my medical Professional life experienced in patients with severe bronchitis, tuberculosis, pneumonia or lung carcinoma had. The owner in question was coughing continuously, heavily and very loudly. My particular attention was his complete lack of interest in protecting the areas in which he constantly moved back and forth from contamination. He neither turned away as he coughed nor put anything in front of his mouth. It was so uncomfortable for me that I mean Stopped the restaurant visit. When I asked an employee in the service area about it, he nodded understandingly and said that he knew about the hygiene problem, but that his boss didn't care about it. That is the reason why I am turning to you. Maybe it's chronic and infectious Disease (tuberculosis). That in conjunction with absolutely none Protective measures and no interest on the part of management, even though it concerns the food sector public restaurant. Anyone who has no awareness of hygiene and consumer protection probably also has other serious hygiene deficits in their company. The flies visiting my table could also be a clue be on it. What worries me most, however, is the spread of infections of a possible chronic nature sick restaurant owner. Addition: The food itself had good taste. Unfortunately I've lost my appetite. I don't like writing bad reviews because I'm always afraid of hurting people unfairly. But this loud, unhygienic constant coughing from a possibly infectious owner, without awareness or interest in his guests or employees, is simply not possible. And I would have liked to have known that before I visited the restaurant.

Update: Heute im Januar 2024 erhielt ich vom Bezirksamt Altona (Fachamt Verbraucherschutz) eine Auskunft auf meinen Antrag aus 2023 nach dem Verbraucherinformationsgesetz. Dort steht unter anderem Folgendes geschrieben: Feststellungen bei der Kontrolle am: 28.07.2023 1. Es wurde ein erhebliches Aufkommen an Fluginsekten festgestellt. Die in der Betriebsstätte hergestellten, verarbeiteten und in den Verkehr gebrachten Lebensmittel waren einer Kontaminationsgefahr durch Fluginsekten ausgesetzt. 2. Insgesamt sehr unaufgeräumt. 3. Lebensmittel unabgedeckt im Kühlraum. Das belegt meinen Eindruck Ende 2023. Leider hatte die behördliche Kontrolle im Juli 2023 scheinbar keinen Effekt. Warum werden solche Restaurants nicht geschlossen und diese Kontrollergebnisse nicht von Amt wegen veröffentlicht? Meine Bewertung vor 2 Monaten (Ende 2023): Ich habe gerade Folgendes an das Amt für Verbraucherschutz geschrieben: Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren, ich habe mich heute am 08.11.2023 von 21:00 bis 21:40 Uhr in folgendem Restaurant als Gast aufgehalten: "Ashirwad" (Indien Restaurant), Bahrenfelder Chaussee 25, 22761 Hamburg (Aus dem Internet herausgesucht: Inhaber: Ashirwad UG, Geschäftsführer: Ramesh Sharma) Der mir von einem Mitarbeiter benannte "Chef" bzw. Inhaber des Restaurants (vermutlich Herr Ramesh Sharma) hat einen sehr starken Husten. Diesen habe ich in meinem medizinischen Berufsleben bei Patienten erlebt, die eine schwere Bronchitis, Tuberkulose, Lungenentzündung oder ein Lungenkarzinom hatten. Der besagte Inhaber hustete durchgehend, stark und sehr laut. Meine besondere Aufmerksamkeit lag auf seinem absoluten Desinteresse, die Bereiche, in denen er sich ständig hin und her bewegte, vor einer Kontamination zu schützen. Weder wandte er sich bei seinem Husten ab, noch hielt er sich etwas vor den Mund. Es war für mich so unangenehm, dass ich meinen Restaurant-Besuch abbrach. Als ich einen Angestellten im Service-Bereich darauf ansprach, nickte er verständnisvoll und sagte, dass er um das hygienische Problem wisse, dieses aber seinem Chef egal sei. Das ist der Grund weshalb ich mich an Sie wende. Vielleicht ist es eine chronische und infektiöse Erkrankung (Tuberkulose). Das in Verbindung mit absolut keinen Schutzmaßnahmen und keinem Interesse der Geschäftsleitung, obwohl es sich um den Lebensmittelbereich in einem öffentlichen Restaurant handelt. Wer kein Bewusstsein für Hygiene und Verbraucherschutz hat, hat in seinem Betrieb wahrscheinlich auch noch andere gravierende Defizite in der Hygiene. Die meinen Tisch besuchenden Fliegen könnten ebenfalls ein Hinweis darauf sein. Was mir aber am meisten Sorgen bereit, ist die Verbreitung von Infektionen eines möglich chronisch kranken Restaurant-Inhabers. Ergänzung: Das Essen selbst hatte einen guten Geschmack. Mir ist aber leider der Appetit vergangen. Ich mag keine schlechten Bewertungen schreiben, weil ich immer befürchte, Menschen zu Unrecht etwas anzutun. Doch dieses laute, unhygienische Dauerhusten eines möglicherweise infektiösen Inhabers, ohne ein Bewusstsein oder Interesse an seinen Gästen oder Mitarbeitern geht überhaupt nicht. Und ich hätte das gerne vor meinem Restaurant-Besuch gewusst.

Everything was just "perfect", I have zero complaints. Minimal yet charming ambience, authentic Indian food, good music, friendly host and fast service. Couldn't get any better. I would recommend "dal makhni" if you are into vegetarian dishes.

Please don’t order any kind of food here, we ordered Paneer tikka and Entire grey was so sour. Instead of tomato they have put processed liquide. My friend order chicken Biriyani and the only rice and pieces but no spices and Gravy at all. Instead try from any other authentic restaurants. We need to support who provides nice food and eliminate the worst preparing so called these kind restaurants. I wish they should close his restaurant soon.

I had the paneer with spinaches. It was good and in very large quantity (too much for one person). I also had a garlic naan, which was below expectation. It did not taste homemade, I was a bit disappointed and would not recommend it. Service is careful, however despite being one of the only ones in the restaurant it took about 35min for my order to arrive.

Anfangs waren wir unsicher, ob dieses indisches Essen vom Lieferservice was taugt – zu oft schon enttäuscht worden. Aber Ashirwad hat's echt drauf! 🚀 Bestellt via Uber Eats und voll überzeugt: Das Essen kam flott an, dampfend heiß und hat richtig lecker geschmeckt. Preis-Leistung stimmt auch. Lieferung über UberEats ohne Probleme und schnell. Essen war heiß und sehr gut und der Fahrer freundlich. Das Galic Cheese Naan war frisch gebacken und geschmacklich top. Das Butter Chicken war ebenfalls top die Sauce war sehr cremig und die Menge der Sauce hat perfekt zum Reis gepasst. Chicken ist auch nicht wenig drin, es ist sehr zart. Alles Top

Great food nice experience with family.

Butter chicken für 19,50€ ist viel zu teuer, genau so wie die restlichen Gerichte überteuert sind. Zum Essen gibt es nicht mal Brot. Muss extra dazu gekauft werden. Im Restaurant war es echt kalt. Getränke mit wenig bis kaum Kohlensäure (da es von großen Flaschen abgefüllt wird), auf das Essen vor Ort haben wir ca 25-30 min gewartet, Rechnungen gibt es nicht.. auf ein abgerissenes Stück Papier mit Kugelschreiber paar Zahlen notiert. Jedoch war der Kellner super nett und freundlich!
