I was here for running sushi. It tasted good, with all the classics. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating. I'd love to come back :)

We've been to Akimoto several times and have never been disappointed. The service is super friendly, and even empty bowls are cleared away quickly. We find the quality and selection of sushi to be really excellent, and you don't have to fight for nigiri and salmon sashimi; there's plenty.

We ate here last week and I got really bad food poisoning. I had salmon teriyaki. It tasted amazing and the service was incredibly friendly. Two hours later, I started throwing up. I had to chew it for two days. Unfortunately, I would never go here again. We were regular customers, but this really traumatized us, so we'll never go there again.

A nice selection of sushi and fish in general. Unfortunately, there's only one conveyor belt, which means that hot and cold dishes travel together, so nothing is hot. We were absolutely impressed by the quality of the sushi. It would have been nice if spicy dishes were marked, perhaps with a flag or something similar. If you can't stand spicy food, one type of sushi was already unpleasant. All the fried dishes were extremely saturated with fat. Apparently, the fryer temperature wasn't right. The fried bananas, for example, were just greasy mush, and there was no honey either. So you should really pay attention to the sushi here and enjoy it. Then you'll have a very good meal. The staff is very friendly, not intrusive, but attentive.

I was really excited about the Running Sushi Restaurant, but unfortunately I was completely disappointed. The biggest drawback was clearly the service: absolutely unfriendly, listless and consistently inattentive. You felt like you were a nuisance and unwelcome. Kindness definitely looks different. Unfortunately, the food wasn't convincing either - it was mostly boring, tasted mediocre and consisted almost exclusively of the same, unvaried plates. Creativity or quality? None. Overall, the visit was anything but worthwhile. It's a shame about the time and money. Above all, the poor service had a very negative impact on the overall impression. I'm definitely not coming back.

We're regulars at Akimoto and it's fantastic every time. As always, the bento box and the EBI FLY were delicious and beautifully presented. The food is fresh and made with a lot of love. I love this restaurant. It's our favorite Japanese restaurant. It's not cheap, but it's worth every single euro. My sons and I ate there again on New Year's Eve. Running sushi is often repetitive. Variety isn't great. The hot dishes offered in the bowls are cold or rarely even lukewarm. What bothered me most was that the soy sauce was made spicy, presumably with chili. This is likely to sell a lot of drinks. I use Kikoman standard soy sauce at home and can judge by this. Because the restaurant has very high ceilings, the noise level is very loud even when the restaurant is half full. The waiters aren't attentive and prefer to chat among themselves. I think €23.90 for conveyor belt sushi in this restaurant is too expensive.

We went running and the food was great. Everyone involved was vegetarian, and after a hint right at the beginning, the conveyor belt was filled with veggie sushi. The waitress asked us again and we got enough. We then received an extra plate just for us at our table. Really great and very tasty despite running! Absolute recommendation. Solid all you can eat restaurant. All seating is good for running sushi. Sushi quality is not the best. Haru or stir fry tastes worlds better in Nuremberg. It's not too expensive but definitely not cheap either. The outside area is relaxed for chilling out

An hour on the assembly line costs just under 24 euros. The quality is right. Price-performance is reasonable. However, unfortunately there is a little bit of sushi variety (always the same types, especially maki and avocado inside out) and relatively too much fried food (fries, spring rolls, etc.). We were still satisfied.

Despite the restaurant being empty, we were turned away at 6 p.m. because there was no reservation. No alternative offered. Totally unfriendly service. I hadn't experienced it before. Unfortunately very bad today.

We had a lovely evening there. In any case, the food on the menu tastes great, I only have one comparison and it is very similar to the other well-known Japanese restaurant. The atmosphere is somehow similar... To me it seems a bit "empty, sterile", but that's probably a matter of taste. We didn't try running sushi, but it looked very good from a distance.

Ate at Akimoto again today on November 1st, 2024. Benti Box. We've loved going there since Akimoto opened and it's always been delicious. Good, full and a light feeling in the stomach afterwards. But the quality has declined. The miso soup was thin and barely lukewarm. I had beef bento box. It was weirdly greasy and not as good as usual. I feel like I ate a kebab. That was better!

Service was super friendly and the atmosphere was excellent and cozy. Unfortunately the food is all the worse and more boring. The quality may be halfway okay, but it's absolutely boring running sushi. Just the same thing over and over again and hardly any variety, and just farted on the plate. “Hot” foods are cold and inedible. The highlight is the dessert in the form of cheap Aldi donuts 😅 just embarrassing! Anyone who describes the food here as good simply doesn't know the other restaurants. Grab Google and just drive a few km further. In any case, we won't be coming anymore.

At peak times it can get a bit noisy in the hall, but that's the only negative point and it's easy to get over, especially since you can also sit outside in the summer.

Da ich in unmittelbarer Nähe arbeite, bin ich häufig mit Kolleginnen im Akimoto zum Mittagessen. Das Essen ist immer lecker. Leider ist das Personal fast ausnahmslos unfreundlich. Wäre es nicht direkt in der Nachbarschaft würde ich das Lokal nicht mehr besuchen, weil wir unseres mal über den Service ärgern… So geht es vielen, die dort essen gehen. Schade

Stopped by for running sushi. There are very few restaurants that offer such a huge selection and such good sushi. Simply great! The only point where a question mark appeared over my head was with the sashimi, there was no radish... I was missing it. Do it right again and it would be five stars from me.

After seeing the positive reviews, I had high expectations, but unfortunately I was disappointed. I don't know exactly which restaurant the customers who left these reviews were at. First of all, there are no separate bands for cold and warm, but that's not so bad for now. However, the selection was really very limited - 3 sushi variations, and otherwise only oranges, spring rolls, thawed cream puffs and various other little things. To be fair, we arrived an hour before the running sushi ended, but I would have expected a lot more for €23.90. There is no sweet and sour sauce on the conveyor belt either. After I asked the waitress, we got a very small bowl for 3 people. The service was nice at first, but when I asked if it would be possible to get something else due to the monotony of the selection, I was asked three times what I would like, which I answered each time with “I have no demands and I'm open for everything” answered. Then I was given 2x sushi salmon with mango, which had been on the conveyor belt all evening. Maybe I'll give the restaurant another chance and then I'll be happy to improve my rating, because I'm really the last guest who would want to be rude. But for the comparatively high price I really expected more...

Ambiance has been the same for years but solid. Running sushi ok, often the same and hardly any variety. Service is unfriendly, after paying we didn't pay any more attention to the gift, turned around and no goodbye, that's it!!! There are better ones with better service.

This restaurant was highly recommended to us and what can I say, We have been coming to Akimoto regularly for years to enjoy running sushi. The sushi is high quality, as are the other dishes on offer. The service staff is attentive and very polite. The ambience is modern and invites you to linger. Oh man, we ate our fill here. This was one of the best evenings of running sushi in a long time. The selection was top. The kitchen has always stocked up with variety. I think each of us had almost 25 plates, which was my personal record. If you visit Nuremberg and don't want German cuisine, then Akimoto is my tip for you.
