Suppenkasper-Laden in Heppenheim (Bergstraße)

I can't provide any information about the hotel as we only visited the beer garden This has a beautiful location and is embedded with trees - very nice to sit. Unfortunately the food doesn't keep up with the ambience😔. The restaurant had just opened and yet three items on the menu couldn't be ordered. The service told us that there would be a waiting time of about 50 minutes, which wasn't a problem for us... you could also tell that food was being freshly prepared in the kitchen (schnitzels were being pounded, hissing from pots)... however, when the food came (4 different ones), they all had one thing in common... portions were very manageable, cold and poorly seasoned... which was a real shame. Because the location is actually good and the conditions are very friendly despite language restrictions

I'm not a fan of the ambiance, but I can imagine that many people like it. It's in the style of the old houses from back then. The food tastes very good for the price, although the portions are sometimes relatively small. The service is always fast, but you notice that when it's busy and the stress becomes really apparent, the friendliness decreases. Not to the point of being unfriendly, but questions like "Do you like it?", "Can I offer you something?", etc. are largely absent. A major drawback are the invoices issued. Boy, boy, if the tax office or your tax advisor ever sees that, they'll be in a rage. But all in all, I'm always happy to come back.

Tiptop, we love the Filou. Not only are we always treated excellently there, but the food also tastes excellent every time - regardless of whether it's tarte flambée or steak from the hot stone! 🤩 The atmosphere is great, whether in the large market square, the vaulted cellar or in the Tuscan garden. Perfect for any weather 🔥
