Sumo Thai Sushi in Saarbrücken

My girlfriend and I spontaneously decided to eat here today. We arrived shortly after 11:30, just after the restaurant opened. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. We were served very quickly. The food arrived promptly as well. We had some finger food, sushi, and then fried noodles with crispy chicken. Everything was freshly prepared and served piping hot. We really enjoyed our meal. Definitely recommended. It's best to reserve a table beforehand, as the restaurant gets very busy after noon. We'll definitely be back.

The food was okay, but nothing special, and the service wasn't particularly friendly. However, the owner came by every now and then and was very nice. Unfortunately, the food gave me terrible stomach pains two hours later.

Nice atmosphere, great service. It's more of a smaller, off-the-beaten-path spot, but not as crowded as Yedo and the like. The food was excellent, the sushi was the best I've had in a long time. 10/10 experience

We love going to Sumo Sushi for dinner. The sushi platters are always appealing and delicious. The hot plates, like fried noodles or the Don Buri rice bowl, are also delicious. The various appetizers and desserts, as well as the iced teas and sodas, are also highly recommended.

We've ordered food for pickup a few times, and it was always delicious. Yesterday, we ordered some more for pickup and, when we got home, we noticed that a main course was missing. After a brief phone call, the manager brought us the missing food, plus a free gift, straight to our door. Mistakes can happen; the important thing is how you handle them. Thank you. :-)

Initially, it took about 15 minutes for my drink order to be taken. There was definitely too little Aperol in the Aperol Spritz, which wasn't justified for the price. My starter arrived at the same time as the main course, which I don't understand, so I had to wolf it down so the main course wouldn't cool completely. The food was truly delicious, and the portion sizes were absolutely fair for the price. The service and timing could definitely be improved, as could the Aperol Spritz.

We ordered sushi and picked it up. Ordering via WhatsApp and the pickup process went really well. We mostly ordered sushi with salmon and tuna and sashimi. Everything was fine, but the tuna was a disaster for the price! Unfortunately, there was no response to our complaint, hence only 2 stars!

It was a wonderfully pleasant, relaxed evening; the staff were unobtrusive yet attentive. The atmosphere is very pleasant and wonderfully relaxed. The homemade iced tea is highly recommended. The food is also generously portioned and very tasty. I can only recommend it to everyone.

Upon entering the establishment, they immediately asked about paying by card, we were told that from 20€ it was possible. Knowing that it would definitely be a larger amount, we ordered the menu. At the end, when they named the amount, we asked to pay by card. We were told "oh well, you understand, today is such a day, not such a day, only cash" we were just lucky that we had a little cash. If we had no money, how would we pay? How would this be resolved? Very interesting. I want to get an answer from the owners. It's actually delicious, but the ending ruined everything, unfortunately

We were very satisfied with the food and the service. The long tables take some getting used to. Cash-only payment is also a bit outdated.

I opted for the Crunchy Lovers menu at this great Thai restaurant, and it was delicious. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, and for the price, I can only recommend it.

We're very enthusiastic about Sumo, go there several times a month, and the experience is always positive. The ambiance is very appealing, the entire team offers excellent service and is friendly and attentive. We feel very comfortable there and have already inspired many of our family and friends, who have been pleasantly surprised. There's something for everyone on the menu, and the food is freshly prepared. We mostly have sushi, but the other dishes are also very tasty and visually appealing, and plentiful, and the starters and desserts are also highly recommended. The drinks, some of which are homemade, like iced orange tea and lime soda, are also available. Parking is always available, as it's located a bit out of the way in the industrial area, which we see as a plus, as you don't have to spend ages looking for a parking space. Overall, a very impressive restaurant with a great team ❤️

Very nice atmosphere. You can drink and dine inside or outside. Unfortunately, there are no wheelchair-accessible restrooms.

Unfortunately, I can't write a very positive review at this point. We've been to Sumo several times and we've always noticed the poor service. Far too inattentive, far too ignorant. So we had a reservation for that day too. It seemed as if there was either no longer a regular reservation or there was double occupancy. In addition, you expect to be asked whether the seat can be inside or outside. This was not stated at first, we gave in. When we arrived at the table, we were given the cards. It is understandable that it takes a little longer when fully occupied, but it is not understandable to stand behind or in front of the counter and not to react to eye contact. After another 10 minutes, unfortunately still nothing. I really admire that you can still afford this today, oh yes it is not to be forgotten that you can only pay for cash here. So there we have it again, the great service desert. I really regret this type of “gastronomy”.

A very bad experience, LOVELY service! We ordered a platter of sushi to share between 2 (it was good) and a friend a hot dish. The hot dish had to be requested 20 minutes after the arrival of the sushi platter because it had been forgotten We do not receive cutlery or napkins and we have to ask for sauce. The hot dish arrives, bland, with a salad without vinaigrette! Are we rabbits perhaps? Then the worst thing happens at the time of payment, where we ask for the bill and the waitress tells us the amount verbally..... We ask for a receipt and ask to pay by card! And there... We are refused and told that we HAVE TO PAY IN CASH, that the TPE is broken!! While the tables next to you have just paid by card! The waitress is very cheeky! We won't come back again

For me it is currently the best Thai restaurant in Saarbrücken, small, cozy but oh-ho. Everything is just right here, the price-performance ratio is great. The staff, the boss, the food, the portions, the taste. Even during celebrations and additional activity, the staff always remains friendly and accommodating. It won't be the last time I celebrate here...It's always best to book a table if you want to come at peak times. The only thing that could be improved here in my opinion would be the desserts, they can really be improved in terms of taste and selection.

First time I came. Very nice restaurant with nice decor, calm atmosphere, clean, great value for money. The wait was a bit long, but we were offered a whole plate of sushi! Smiling and polite staff. I recommend 100%

We had dinner here last night for my 50th birthday and the restaurant was already busy, despite the early time of 6 p.m., so I would also recommend reserving a table, as I luckily did. We ordered the drinks and dishes and didn't have to wait as long as we expected. Crunchy Sushi was my first time and I could have eaten another portion straight away. The other dishes also exceeded expectations, wonderfully freshly prepared and served very hot. The meat was tender and crispy and the vegetables had a great color and crunch. I also had a premiere with the very tasty Udon Yaki noodles, which I can also recommend. According to my parents' feedback, cashew chicken and Shanghai style with crispy duck were also very good. Very rarely have we left such empty plates at a meal. The service was also very friendly and nice, but when it comes to drinks, it would like to be even more attentive and would also promote sales. I'm already looking forward to the next visit, which could probably come soon. Definitely next year. I wish the operators and employees a merry Christmas and a good and healthy start into the New Year.

It was my mother's birthday and she really wanted to eat sushi. No sooner said than done. It was really tasty. We will definitely eat there more often. Soon there should even be more ramen there, then my best friend will be happy too. 😊

Mit Abstand das beste Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis in Saarbrücken und Umgebung. Ich esse regelmäßig hier und erfreue mich jedes Mal aufs neue an der Herzlichkeit und der Qualität der Speisen. Die Negativ Bewertungen sind mir ein absolutes Rätsel. Ich kann es mir nur so erklären: Wer fettiges Fast-Food von der Imbiss-Bude erwartet bzw. gewohnt ist, wird vermutlich enttäuscht werden. Wer jedoch Lust auf eine frische und auf den europäischen Gaumen angepasste Asia-Fusion Küche hat, wird definitiv auf seine Kosten kommen.

We went there for Ramen tag. The cost seemed low but so was the quantity to our surprise. The drinks were amazing (minz lassi and lyche lime) The food was not bad, but nothing very special about it. Loved the ambience though.

We arrived at Sumo Thaï Sushi by chance but… we loved it. The dishes are delicious, more or less spicy depending on your tastes. Very well presented. The service is very efficient and pleasant. Don't hesitate.

The Thai restaurant with fusion cuisine offers solid dishes that are not entirely authentic, but still taste good. We have been a customer for many years, back then in Güdingen. The new location is beautifully decorated and is a real eye-catcher. The food is still top notch, we especially like the crunchy sushi. The prices have increased slightly but are still within reasonable limits. The fact that they also have a delivery service makes them our favorite Asian restaurant in Saarbrücken. Ordering via WhatsApp is simply brilliant. The whole team is super friendly. A crystal clear recommendation comes out.

Clear recommendation! Have been to Sumo Thai twice. The staff is very friendly. The food came quickly. The restaurant is a bit out of the way in the commercial area, but no problem with the car. Parking space in front of the door. Barrier-free because there are no stairs.

Lime soda is unbeatable, sushi and duck are very good. The atmosphere is very cozy and the staff are super friendly. We'll definitely come back.
