Sultan Döner in Lübeck

Everything was fine except for the loud background noise from the staff and the television.

Whenever we're in Travemünde, a visit to Sultan Döner is a must. The guys who work there are super friendly, the food is always delicious, and the portions are generous. All in all, a top-notch snack bar, very clean, and with great staff.

Due to a misunderstanding regarding the filling of my lahmacun, I was refused service. I had to leave without eating. My wife and I have been traveling to Turkey for over 25 years, sometimes even privately, and that's why I was being racist, because I didn't want onions on my lahmacun. You are the best kebab shop in Travemünde. I come from Priwal and pay €14 for a round trip just to buy two lahmacun. I hope we can resolve this.

I haven't had such a good kebab in a long time. The portions are really large, the meat is delicious, the fries are excellent, the salads are fresh and tasty, and the sauces are great. The prices are reasonable. If it were a bit cleaner, it would be 100% recommendable, but I still recommend it.

We were in the store on October 30, 2025, and each ate a Sultan Salad – incredibly delicious and a huge portion!

An excellent restaurant in a touristy location. For its size, it offers outstanding service and a pleasant atmosphere. I ordered a doner sandwich for €7.50 in cash. The ingredients were fresh and the taste was good. The sauce was a bit too acidic for my liking, but overall the food was excellent. ———— Second visit to this restaurant. I had doner box number 21 for €8. Excellent dish!

The team is friendly, fast, and always in a good mood, no matter how busy it is. The value for money is 100% spot on! We've bought a kebab here several times and eaten it on the promenade. The taste and quality have always been good, and the price is reasonable at €7.50! The shop seems clean and is as cozy as you'd expect.

Whenever I'm in Travemünde, I can't help but treat myself to a meal or two at Sultan Döner, and I can only say I've never regretted it. The food is delicious; you can watch the preparations. It tastes very good and fresh, and is deliciously seasoned. What really impressed me is that even if you arrive 15 minutes before closing time and order, you're served just as friendly and courteous as usual. Customer service is truly a priority here. The prices are also moderate and affordable.

We got something to eat here while on vacation. Giving a review is really difficult because the things we ordered were so varied. I had a falafel plate with rice, which I would give 5 stars. Everything was just perfect: the salad was fresh, the rice was tasty and there was plenty of it, really good. My husband had a large chicken doner, which would get 2-3 stars. The entire paper was completely greasy as soon as we unwrapped it, and that's how the meat tasted in the end: totally greasy. Accordingly, the doner still felt heavy in his stomach hours later; he really didn't feel well afterward. The rest (salad, bread, and sauce) were good, though. The service was also very friendly, and the price was good, too. Our conclusion: We'd happily have falafel again, but probably not the meat again.

I ordered a doner kebab plate with extra meat. Unfortunately, I got a huge salad with a few, practically uncountable fries and very little meat (despite ordering more meat, which was also charged extra). Unfortunately, this is the second time...you should give everyone a second chance. In terms of freshness and taste, it was very good, at least considering the very limited portions. But given this is already the second bad experience, there won't be a next time.

Honestly, that was the most disgusting kebab of my life. The tzatziki tasted like garlic mayo from hell – it gave me diarrhea, stomach cramps, and I almost threw up. And the kebab skewer? It looked like dried-up meatloaf at a fair. Simply disgusting. How can anyone even open a place like that in Travemünde? Save your money and go to a gas station instead; you'll get better quality there!

Monday is kebab day. Kebabs for €6.50. Super fresh coleslaw, crispy bread roll, delicious meat, and a spicy, but not too hot, sauce. Friendly staff! Highly recommended!

Very friendly staff, the food was delicious, and the portions were generous. The restrooms in the basement were rather dated, and the small dining room had also seen better days. But if you want good food, the yaprak (?) kebab is the best option.

The doner meat wasn't sliced thinly, but some pieces were thick. It was bad. I didn't want red sauce, but he put it on me anyway. The restroom was terrible: no toilet paper, no way to dry my hands. Rancid walls in the restrooms. The music wasn't very entertaining.

Absolutely not satisfied 0 stars out of 5 stars for the price of 7.5 € plus 1 € surcharge because of cheese and they are so cheeky and don't put any cheese in it, it's totally overpriced, the meat is not doner meat but minced meat and taste-wise it's not great either, the ambience is not nice either

Average kebab shop, I'd say. The food was pretty good. The guys who work there are always nice. But I think they haven't had vegetarian dürüm very often and would benefit from experimenting a bit to make it possible for vegetarians to enjoy a tasty meal too. =) The drinks aren't as overpriced as at other places. Oh, and PLEASE introduce card payments!

For what you get, you pay significantly more here than, for example, at university – there, the kebab costs €6 and is almost twice as big, with a very similar taste. In conclusion: Definitely recommended for a quick snack – but not for every day if you're on a budget.

We were passing through yesterday and spontaneously decided to get a kebab there. It was the best decision, because we've never had such a delicious kebab before! The taste is simply AMAZING and we highly recommend it! If we're in the area again, you're a must-stop!

I've been going there a lot for years, but now €8 for a dürum with meat/bread mixture? Sauces don't have as much flavor anymore. That's too much now. I'll go out to eat somewhere else and get more out of the evening.

Delicious kebab, super friendly and fast. Only cash payment possible, but luckily it was also possible with a large bill.

For us as a group there was a kebab box and three kebabs on hand. The visual appearance of the shop is pretty okay for a kebab shop. When preparing the dishes, the sauce was slapped onto the bread very quickly. In the kebab box, the distribution wasn't quite as good, at the top it was almost just fries and meat, at the bottom it was mainly salad, a bit of mixing was necessary. There was nothing particularly wrong with the taste, but it was of course good to eat. The people behind the counter were also very friendly and attentive.

Delicious Turkish pizza. Choice of chicken and veal. Well invested. Excellent price-quality ratio. Friendly staff. You can eat it there or take it with you.

Very nice and open-minded staff, I must say. The size of the meal is appropriate, prices are adjusted to the competition. Unfortunately, my expectations were higher. The salad no longer seemed fresh to me, but rather a bit soggy. Unfortunately there is also cucumber in the salad. Ordered extra sauce, hardly tasted any. No herb sauce, just spicy, garlic and cocktail. When I'm really hungry, I'll be back here, otherwise I don't want a good kebab.

Just a few meters away from the Travemünder Ufer and its overpriced fish sandwiches. When I saw that a normal kebab cost €7.50 I swallowed at first, but the one I got was huge, with two super delicious sauces. Overall, one of the best kebabs I've ever eaten and worth every cent!

Otherwise I've always been happy, it's my childhood kebab - previously on the other side of the street. This time was the first time I had a bad experience on a Thursday evening. The veal was more reminiscent of mortadella. Directly on the same day, as well as this morning the revenge of Montesuma. At least, the sauce and the bread are still reminiscent of the past and I had it yesterday - I don't regret anything - but I'm not going there anymore :(

The portions were very filling, the prices were very good, the meat and sauces were delicious. Their salads were also fresh. I will come again.

The kebab was good and I liked it but it wasn't spicy enough. The first impression of the ambience is good and the staff was friendly. Not much more can be said yet. I will definitely try another dish. I found the price at €7.50 a bit high because some kebab shops offer better taste for one euro less.

Everything neat, fresh, nice and really very large portions. For kids: it is definitely enough for smaller and middle children if you order a portion for two
