Südbahnhof in Neumünster

The breakfast was great. The waitress was pretty annoyed and didn't hide it very well. We ordered extra milk for our coffee and wanted to take the leftovers with us, rolling our eyes and smiling in annoyance... Too bad 🤷‍♂️ We brought it up on the spot.

We were there for the Sunday breakfast buffet at 10 a.m.... 🙂 Yes, I was already hungry for breakfast too 😊 The welcome was nice, and we were then shown to our seats (we had a reservation), really nice. The buffet, well, the rolls weren't my thing and unfortunately there was only one type of bread; I would have liked more. The cereal selection (one cereal and one pop) wasn't really my thing either; I would have preferred oatmeal, cornflakes, etc. Then I got a pot of hot chocolate, yuck, but it was very sweet. I diluted it with milk. Well, then there was pasta salad, sausages, nuggets, vegetables, jam, dips, eggs—I wish the eggs hadn't been cut and peeled yet (anyone can do that themselves 🙂), scrambled eggs, cheese, etc. My highlight was the pancakes. Delicious with applesauce, and the applesauce looked homemade. Then the fruit salad, 10 points, not from a can but freshly cut, SUPER! Then there was chocolate/vanilla rice pudding. The waitress was very friendly and always smiling...

It was okay so far. The quality of the rolls still needs improvement. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant.

It used to be good here. Today, unfortunately, it's not at all. Portions have become much smaller and more expensive. Drinks didn't arrive until we were almost finished eating. Then the cocktails came without ice. The waitress didn't care about our criticism.

I can't recommend Südbahnhof anymore. The prices are ridiculous for the quality. The burgers are made with pre-made patties. The chicken salad is pretty steep for €19.80. The value for money is simply not there.

We were in Neumünster today, looking for a nice place to eat and have a cold drink. That's how we ended up at the Südbahnhof restaurant. We were greeted by the staff in a very friendly and informal atmosphere. I was so impressed by the atmosphere that I initially overlooked the "no card payments" signs, but the friendly man behind the counter knew his way around and told me where the nearest ATM was (a 2-minute walk). The food was excellent, and the wait was perfectly acceptable. After all, I don't go to a restaurant like this in a hurry. We were asked regularly, but not intrusively, if everything was okay. And since this restaurant has its own train connection, we'll probably come back soon with more time and without a car. Thank you very much

If you just want to get your fill, this is the place to go. The food is okay. Unfortunately, when ordering, they didn't tell me it would take longer. The food arrived after 50 minutes. Card payments are also not accepted. If the weather is nice, I would go to another restaurant because of the long wait times.

Quite okay. An old train station with a fitting ambiance. Rather rustic, then. Friendly service, extensive food selection. Quite affordable. It was quite crowded on a Friday evening. That's a good sign. Recommended.

It's asparagus season and a beautiful evening in May, there were four of us in the Südbahnhof and this was my first visit to this restaurant and also my last. To eat, asparagus on toast (two slices of small toast, 4 sticks of asparagus, a slice of the cheapest cooked ham, a tablespoon of sauce, gratinated with "cheese") for over 18 euros. I saw the quantities on other plates and ordered a ham & eggs burger with potato wedges as a side dish and not forgetting the sour cream (burger bun burnt in the oven, the patty was ok, the egg was also ok, sauce without any taste, bacon was cold and had a strange consistency, potato wedges fried to death in the air fryer, the sour cream had little taste here, I preferred the garlic sauce which was better) also over 20 euros. The hospitality was subpar and we rarely experienced such an annoyed waiter. We sat in front of the hut in the beer garden and every guest who goes into the hut walks across the wooden floor and the whole table wobbles. There is no card payment. My conclusion never again.

Delicious food in a nice retro atmosphere with station decoration. The service was friendly and quick and the Jägerschnitzel with cream sauce we ordered was excellent. The menu is also surprisingly rich in good German cuisine.

Hello, we haven't had such a bad meal in a long time and the experiences with the waiter are also worth a review. After being asked whether we liked it, we answered with our impression. Food very tasteless, Salad side dish cannot be defined and absolutely without salt or spices, Schnitzel dry and bland. The answer from the waiter.....the salad is just decorative!!!!! It was enough, not again so quickly.

We were there for breakfast. The buffet was rather simple. The dishes were prepared in different variations. So not as rich as the first impression suggested. The multigrain rolls were sold out quickly. Unfortunately, they could not be restocked because they were no longer in stock. The rest of the buffet was replenished, albeit partly upon request. Coffee at the tables was often only refilled upon request. You were told that you could have the coffee pots refilled at the buffet. The staff tried hard to fulfill your wishes. Would we have breakfast there again? Possibly yes, but with some drawbacks.

Good price-performance ratio, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Varied menu, what more could you want? Not a Michelin-starred kitchen, but no one makes that claim either. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine, and the whole store is definitely a recommendation.

My favorite place for good food and good drinks in Neumünster for over 40 years. Always friendly staff and an extremely good price-performance ratio. Legendary celebrations there at a young age are now more of a cozy get-together. 5 stars are actually not enough...

We were a party of 9 and all got schnitzel in different flavors and they were fantastic, really good that you can choose from many kinds of side dishes. The rest of the menu also offers a good and varied selection. The restaurant is cozy decorated with the most amazing beer garden and alpine hut, is close to Neumünster Outlet so a shopping trip ends perfectly here.

People know the Südbahnhof from other times... Today it is rather quiet and well-mannered. You can meet there in peace and a nice atmosphere in small groups and eat, chat and drink something...

Because of reservations we got places in the Erdinger Hütte. Great ambience! We didn't have to wait long for the burgers with fries, which were served to us by the great, friendly service - and these burgers including fries were simply said: "WORLD CLASS" 10 stars out of 10

The food was ok, however la flute was cold. Warm baguette with cold topping. The service didn't come to the table to inquire after serving. Even the later reference only resulted in a shrug of the shoulders. The Südbahnhof is more of a pub than a restaurant.

After a day in Neumünster we were looking for something delicious to eat locally. Saw the Sübbahnhof spontaneously and just tried it. Luckily, there was still a table for two available. We received a very friendly welcome and there was a very pleasant atmosphere the entire time. We had two schnitzels with fried potatoes, highly recommended. The espresso with vanilla ice cream rounded off the evening nicely. We'd love to come back! (And then reserve in advance ;) )

Pleasant atmosphere, attentive staff - always worth a visit! As a vegan/vegetarian you will find a solid selection of dishes on the menu. Absolute highlight every year: Vegan kale - at no extra charge to the meat version 👌🏼

Unfortunately the food was just average. Unfortunately I wouldn't eat here again. However, the staff and the ambience are very good.

When we are in Neumünster, a visit to the “Süder” is a must. However, yesterday was the last time we were there. At first we were greeted by a monster of a hut but that's probably a matter of taste. It's a shame for the beer garden. But I find it really customer-unfriendly that payment is only possible in cash, even if this is pointed out in advance. Card payments are accepted at every kiosk and bakery (receipt required), except in the south. The answer to the question why: “That’s just the way it is.” Then you start to think about why!

We received a very warm welcome, unfortunately the telephone table reservation was not entered, so we were given a somewhat dark corner seat in the hut. Large selection of dishes and the food was delicious. The service staff were very, very nice and friendly and in the mood for a joke. We'll be back

No card payment possible Very strange. Year 2024 and the Südbahnhof lives behind the moon. Were there in a group and should be invited. It was all sorted out and we all scraped together some cash. Receipt of entertainment was also not possible. Very strange. If you pay “only” in cash, the alarm bell rings. Digital cash register systems belong in every restaurant, don't they? Food wasn't great either. Convenience, but not even good. We won't be coming back. The fact that it is not possible to receive a receipt for entertainment is also questionable. The tax office doesn't believe us. 2 stars because the service was friendly.

Update on 5/8/24 to the review from 4/27/24! We sat down with the owner Claudia and talked about the events of April 27th, 2024. She apologized several times for the behavior of her employees, who were overwhelmed by such a situation, especially since nothing like this had ever happened before. What we really believe! We hope and wish that everyone has learned from this event. We learn from this to examine our food more closely before eating it 😌 and not just at Südbahnhof, but generally when we go out to eat! Many thanks to Claudia for the open conversation! 04/27/2024 Mouse droppings! We ate here on a Saturday around 5 p.m. and were impressed by the ambience, and the staff also greeted us very friendly. The drinks were quickly picked up and brought. The choice of food took a while, given what was on offer, but we all made a good choice and the food was also very attractive and tasted very good. When I got to the last piece of meat on my plate, a questionable black thing that looked like dried mouse droppings flashed at me. I've lost my appetite! When I called the waitress over and showed her the mouse droppings, she reacted with embarrassment, especially since it wasn't the waitress who took and brought our order. Unfortunately, this waitress was sent back to our table to apologize and offer me a coffee. (We felt sorry for this poor waitress because she was sent ahead) Then we were ignored, when we wanted to pay she came again, I'll call her " The main waitress checked us in and nothing else happened, no further apologies, no accomodation. Incidentally, we were €1.80 short of paying in cash, card payment was not possible, the waitress explained to us where an ATM was nearby! Unfortunately, we reacted wrongly and shouldn't have accepted this situation as an excuse with a coffee. It was definitely mouse droppings and that shouldn't go unmentioned.

The beautiful beer garden was completely destroyed with a wooden hut. Now we'd rather sit inside again.

We had a lovely dinner in the attached wooden house. The heaters provide acceptable temperatures even in cold weather, but the blanket for the legs is quite helpful. The menu is varied and has a lot to offer. The food was delicious; You have to accept a little waiting time, but it's still OK. We were here again and would love to come back!

Had an Easter brunch here for the first time. We were in the back of the big wooden hut. Pleasant atmosphere, warm by heaters on the walls (rainy cold outside, so perfect). Delicious buffet, warm, fresh and delicious food, such as: E.g. scrambled eggs, bacon, croissants, rolls that were still nice and warm, desserts and much more. Price per person was also okay. Not too expensive and appropriate for what was there.
