Subway in Düsseldorf

A pigeon flew out of the kitchen and the staff did nothing about it.

I have a Telekom voucher that was supposed to get me a free sandwich. Unfortunately, I couldn't redeem it at the branch on Schadowstraße in Düsseldorf. Why doesn't it work? Honestly, I find it disappointing when such promotions are heavily advertised but then don't work.

Absolutely unfriendly and rude employees who bullied my mentally disabled girlfriend and became aggressive (to give you a better idea of ​​the situation: my girlfriend is really sweet, she is short and sometimes takes a little longer to understand things because, as I said, she unfortunately has an illness that reduces her intelligence, but she is always super friendly). The shift manager became aggressive when she asked for more details about the price (after I had already paid, so there was never a delay in paying). And I noticed that the receipt was incorrect and the wrong amount was shown on the statement and the receipt was only printed out reluctantly or after I asked and there was a hesitant response. The receipt says I paid in cash even though I paid with a card. So it was all very strange. But the worst thing for me was the aggressive tone towards my girlfriend. These employees behaved disrespectfully, especially the higher-ranking employee from yesterday, October 22nd, at around 9 p.m. After that, I couldn't enjoy my meal and left the store alone before my girlfriend because I couldn't stay there any longer and listen to this behavior towards my girlfriend. Fortunately, and for this I'm very grateful, my girlfriend doesn't notice when people address her in such a derogatory and aggressive manner and considers it a normal interaction. But this wasn't a normal interaction, and I find it shameful in the year 2025. Subway is dead to me, and that means all Subway locations.

Why does Subway offer vouchers if they are hardly accepted anywhere?! Including this branch

Very clean and good branch, but unfortunately, despite the information on the Subway website, they didn't want to accept the coupon from the My Magenta app and communicated this verbally. The food was still good. I'd be happy to give it 5 stars if this information were removed or if it wasn't the responsibility of the branch. Addendum: The incorrect entry in the branch search has now been removed, so it was probably not the franchisee's intention.

Service is terrible. Coupons aren't accepted because of "technical problems," and you're forced to pay the full price.

I went there with my partner. She (a vegetarian) ordered plant-based chicken teriyaki and specifically asked if it was vegetarian. I ordered regular chicken teriyaki, and the employee used the same container for both. I then pointed out to him that he had made a mistake. Only after discussing it with me did he realize he had indeed made a mistake and remade the first sandwich. Afterward, all the employees were treated rudely, and there was no apology. I would recommend giving the employees further training on their own offerings.

€0.60 per extra cheese and only half a slice of cheddar or 1 teaspoon of cream cheese... I remembered Subway being tastier.

I don't understand all the positive reviews. It's a standard Subway with the usual food. The staff wasn't particularly friendly. The official coupons from the Subway website weren't accepted. A sandwich now costs almost €12. I'll probably eat somewhere else next time I'm downtown.

My 30cm sub was about 4/5, but I configured it poorly because the 180cm behind the counter weren't very friendly or accommodating—four employees, and not one of them was interested. I wasn't told what options I wanted; I had to drag everything out of their mouths. I got the Italian bread and immediately got these goofy nuggets on it, so I had no choice. My bread was completely torn to pieces by the knife and packaged without even looking. I actually love the Subway concept and taste, but not so unmotivated.

We were there for dinner today and my colleague left his wallet there. We called to inquire and received a very dubious and disrespectful response. First of all, we weren't taken seriously. We were also insulted, and we haven't received a response yet as to whether it's there or not.

I lost my wallet today. No help, no information. I was just fooled over the phone, and maybe a Subway employee made a profit of €400. I've never been as rude in my life as I was by today's employee. I'm never going to that store again. I'm going to speak to my supervisor now.

A lovely Subway branch right on the shopping mile and a few meters from the Hofgarten. I had a chicken teriyaki sub, cookie, and drink as a set meal for €15.

We ordered the same menu four times and were charged different prices four times. When we pointed this out to the employees, they got annoyed and deducted €1 and argued...but in the end, we still paid way too much compared to other Subway branches. The tables were dirty and occupied by people who weren't Subway customers.

Far too expensive compared to other Subway branches (a 30 cm student meal costs €15!!), and the student meal is only charged after discussion for obvious students. Also, dirty tables and limited space. Food is okay.

When we walked in, we were greeted with an unfriendly welcome. The employees seemed uninterested in their work, and as first-time customers, we had no experience with how things worked. The employees seemed to notice this and rolled their eyes at everything. They weren't attentive at all, and you had to repeat everything to them twice. They had a certain kind of annoyed arrogance, but the food was really good.

Worst store I've ever experienced. We've been here several times and thought we'd give it another chance (or three). Neither cashier spoke German and couldn't really understand me at all. No gloves were available, and of course, they only accepted regular cards and no credit cards. Where are we, please? They didn't even want to issue a receipt until I insisted. The subcard discount wasn't credited either.

Absolutely unacceptable...employees sitting outside smoking while you're supposed to be enjoying your meal next to them. This shouldn't be expected of employees, especially. Disgusting, eating in the stench... Generally speaking, guests shouldn't smoke at the tables and bother others with it. I decided to have a quick lunch at this branch today. The food was really fresh and delicious, and the employees were friendly too. However, I'd like to give them suits for the lack of smoke-free protection. I actually wanted to enjoy my sub in the sun and fresh air. And even though there were no ashtrays at the tables, even the employees of this branch sat at the outside tables to take a break and smoke. This is disgusting not only for me as a non-smoker, but also for many others who want to enjoy their food and are bothered by smoking employees and guests. My conclusion: A sub to go is certainly still possible, but enjoying your food in the restaurant is not an option. Sitting among diners and smoking is disrespectful. Especially since smokers simply throw their cigarette butts on the floor due to the lack of ashtrays. So, in this restaurant, you sit among cigarette butts and try to enjoy your meal. Service-wise, it's a no-go and not a place to linger. It's a shame, really.

We went to this place with a voucher we received in the mail. After ordering, we were informed that vouchers don't work here. There's no sign or anything that they don't have. To me, this is just a way to deceive customers.

The two of us tried a sub of the day. The baguette is soft and can be filled according to your wishes on site at the counter. With this discount you can get a good deal at the regular price. Even though the bread was toasted, it was too soft for my taste. We both tried chicken teriyaki which were very tasty. There are 12 different sauces available but some are not always available. You can also try the delicious cookies. However, the young foreign-speaking employee could hardly speak German, which surprised me.

At Subway you immediately feel welcome! The employees are super friendly, attentive and respond to every request. The ingredients are always fresh and the sandwiches are made to perfection. Unfortunately you can't give 0 stars. I ordered a Tuna Baguette for more than €10: Until today, I had always enjoyed eating at Subway... the MA put very very little tuna in a whole baguette, when I complained he claimed that he put 4 spoons of tuna, unbelievable, he lies shamelessly to my face .. Conclusion: 1.Food tasted very bad, 2.The employee was very unfriendly. 3.The tables were very dirty.

The food was good, but the employee (8:20 p.m. today) was constantly on the phone with the headset on and was therefore unfocused and always said the wrong thing and forgot what you had told him 5 seconds before. OK in itself. But if you want to redeem a voucher from your own Subway app, the incompetence of the employees is reflected. You get pat answers that it doesn't work and you wait 15 minutes for a voucher from your OWN app to be accepted and at the end you're told “But next time there won’t be any more” I'm a bit shocked.

Bad service staff: The take-away food is not packed in plenty, it is not offered in a bag (even if it costs something). When I asked if I could pack the cookies, I was given a paper bag to pack myself. When I asked for a bag for the bread (because the sauce spilled) there was only an unfriendly comment: "I can't give every customer a bag." How am I supposed to know that the customer in front of me received a bag as a gift??!! Let's be honest, how clumsy that statement was. I just asked for a bag to pack it up, even if it cost I would have bought it lol IF YOU HAD GIVED ME THAT OPTION. You shouldn't treat customers differently just because they look different. It's not about migration background, but about age/appearance/clothes/prejudiced age. Why do you have to be on first-name terms with customers because you think you're younger? The service employee from before should definitely change his attitude.

One of the best Subways in the city. It's tiny but clean and cozy. The staff was super helpful in my case, switched to English with no problem and made me a perfect fresh sandwich.

We then said that we would like to redeem the 2 for 1 15cm promotion from the app. She then said that this branch would not participate, even though it says so in the SUBWAY APP. Can everyone now decide for themselves? When my friend then said that it was even noted in the app as a participating branch, she just said rudely, "I know, but we're not taking part." Then we went.

The lady who put the topping on my sandwich put my cash on the sandwich by hand using the same gloves she used to put the cucumbers etc. on it. She also took the change from the cash register with the same gloves and handed it to me. She then continued serving with the same gloves and placed a new sandwich on top. The public order office should take a look here. Essential lack of hygiene that I experienced there today.

I've bought a sub here four times so far, and today was the first time on Sunday morning. Unfortunately the bread was from the day before or older, because it was rock hard and crumbly and dusty like rusks. It was so hard that I had to open it up and eat one half at a time to even be able to chew it. I didn't eat the other half. I hardly tasted any of the topping because I felt like I only had bread crumbs in my mouth. The 'potatoe bites' were also harder than rusks, as I couldn't even break many pieces with my hands. Only one was soft in the middle. And I paid 14 euros for it. Unfortunately I didn't have time to file a complaint because I had to go to my training course. But that really doesn't work at all. At 14 euros for half a 'sub & 'potatoe bites' as a side dish, I expect fresh bread and "chewy" potatoes. Please don't do that and only give out fresh bread, because that really annoys us customers. My clothes and my car looked like... it was all covered in thousands of crumbs. You could have made a whole flock of pigeons happy here. Sorry, but if that happens again I definitely won't eat here again, and I won't even come back on a Sunday. The topping was always fresh and delicious on all my visits. The salad and vegetables were always crisp and fresh, the meat was soft and juicy, intense taste and great aroma. There are a lot of options to choose from, there is something for everyone. You can easily put the sandwich together yourself; you can see the ingredients on display in front of you. Or you can choose a sandwich suggestion from the menu. There are also a lot of different sauces. I particularly like the selection of drinks. Everything is well chilled and, above all, you also have zero sugar sodas to choose from, which is great. The saleswoman could be friendlier, she doesn't look at you, no greeting, no farewell, no please, thank you, no nothing. Everything happens consistently without words. Every time. But I liked the facility itself, it was clean and tidy. There were only napkins anywhere, everything was empty, but luckily I always have wet wipes in the car. It's nice that you can also sit outside if you want. The chairs look comfortable and there are plenty of tables.
