The staff was friendly and personable. The vegan cheeseburger was incredibly delicious. The atmosphere was also very pleasant. I'll probably come back again. I wasn't disappointed on my second visit; I had a Satanburger with vegan cheese, and that was really good, too. Edit: On subsequent visits, I tried various other things, and the quality was consistently very good. The staff is still great, too. I'll definitely recommend it.

Delicious vegan food! The pub look isn't my cup of tea, so four stars for the ambiance. The staff is super nice, and the food is delicious.

It was quite good, I think I'll come back. I had the chili cheese fries. My only criticism: I had to ask the waiter to give me the feedback because he had miscalculated... it can happen, it's not a big deal.

Vegan/vegetarian food was delicious. Spinach pizza 5/10, millet patties with salad 6/10, vegetarian cheeseburger 7/10, and fries with dip 8.5/10. Portion sizes were decent. Service times for drinks and food were a bit slow, despite the light crowd. Value for money was completely satisfactory. Average price just under €20 per person.

Super delicious vegan salami pizza and even vegan strawberry cream cake! The atmosphere is great, you can even play board games with the bartender, very friendly service, and good music. I feel kind of at home here. 😊

The food was OK. There were a lot of people there and we tried almost everything. You can eat better in the area... The service was unfortunately abysmal. We were asked to tip, and the people were generally unfriendly. The atmosphere was quite nice.

We love coming here because the selection of vegan dishes is excellent. And super tasty 😋 and the atmosphere is really interesting and steeped in history. The service is always friendly and accommodating.

Unfortunately it's not on our way, otherwise we would be there all the time. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly people, and always delicious food. Even “die-hard” blackheads will find delicious alternatives here.

Cozy pub to sit together with friends for a while

A relaxed kitchen-living room in the city? Delicious food, nice people, funny service, always great offers. In between, actions that encourage discussion. And if the date is a long time coming, there is a lot of information and reading material about the state of the world. :)

First time in this restaurant and I can only recommend it. I thought the food was great, the service was also good and the restaurant has everything you need. The focus is on organic products and drinks that have a positive effect. Everything is vegetarian, but there is also a lot that is vegan and there is still a large selection of food and drink.

"nice atmosphere" Unfortunately the music is so quiet that I prefer to sit at the counter with headphones on. 0.5l Flens on tap for €3.90 is fine. therefore 2 stars. Maybe it used to be different, but definitely too stuffy and far too quiet for an alternative left-wing pub!

I give 5/5 stars because a counter person ate our trick list.

In the heart of Gaarden. Not a postcard idyll, but a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. I am very satisfied with the burger, pizza and fries. Families with children also seem to feel at home here. The operators are friendly and I would rather give my money to such projects than to any burger chains. What is striking is the predominantly white audience and operators in the multicultural and migrant district of Gaarden. Same same, but different.

.. how do I write it without giving in too much to the emotions? It was incredibly good! That in advance. Why doesn't this type of restaurant, run by a group of people (since 1995) who want to make people happy in addition to ecological, friendly and social interests, exist in every city...? This restaurant is reason enough for a trip to Kiel. We had spinach pizza rolls, Satanburger, Hawaiian burger, fries and carrot cake, organic Cola and wonderfully fresh Pilsner on tap. Everyone will find something on the menu - and it doesn't have to be vegetarian or vegan, because taste unites us all. The prices, the service and the ambience fit like a glove. Right down to organic ketchup and fairly bought coffee - everything is well thought out, thought through, sensible, sustainable and super delicious....! Keep it up....! And because I was here with my son and he was just as excited (if not more) as I was, he asked me to add a few lines (as far as me, from here on out my son (14)): ----- I've left many restaurants with good reviews over the years, but this almost inconspicuous place far exceeded my expectations. I'll start with the ambience because it literally electrified me. It has its own, unmistakable style that will truly stay in your memory. Just reading the menu made me absolutely hungry and I would have liked to order everything from the menu, but my wallet (or my father's ;-) and my stomach wouldn't have been able to handle that. What I ordered tasted better than I could have ever hoped for. What really impressed me is the number of things they make themselves, including the sauces and the bread. If I could I would come here every day. All in all, I give it my highest recommendation. If I could give six stars I would give seven. ----

Visited in April 2024. Very cozy vegan alternative restaurant. Highly recommend the vegan gyros plate. Staff is very friendly. Would visit again when on vacation in Kiel. Parking on the opposite side of street is possible.

The Veggi Restaurant No. 1 in Gaarden Very tasty and great selection. You get full and it tastes good. Class. It's just a shame that he's in Gaarden...

The very best quality food with a changing menu of all kinds, the vegan or vegetarian food absolutely convinces me and is extremely tasty for me (I'm a picky flexitarian myself). The Subrosa is highly recommended; both the friendly and courteous staff and the guests who mainly come there to visit are very pleasant people. I give this a warm and honest A+ as an overall grade!

I've been living in Gaarden for several years and have been there with almost all of my friends :) The food is always great & you always have a really good time, you can also do puzzles there! Just look at it for yourself and treat yourself :)

As a non-Kiel resident, I am often taken to strange restaurants. Since I'm a vegetarian, it made sense that I would be "taken out" here sooner or later. Very nice and courteous service, extensive menu, delicious down-to-earth food. I'll come here again. But in summer. There is a deduction because it was really cold.

Both meals were a nightmare. Unfortunately there is no other way to say that. 18 degrees room temperature is also sporty, even if you support the ecological aspect. Still, it's a great place if you like beer and table football.

Completely impressed from the first day. Very pleasant atmosphere to eat, drink, relax, chat and roll dice at impressive prices. When it comes to the delicious vegan/vegetarian dishes, great emphasis is placed on being close to the burger. Sustainability is pleasantly respected, especially a. when seasoning. Constantly attentive and listening members of the collective, who clearly strive to fulfill the guests' every wish, always make a visit to Subrosa an unforgettable experience. 🏖️🌈🍻😈🎸🍕

Chillig, entspannt und kommunikativ. Wenn man sich in der spezifischen Szene bewegen mag.....im Sommer auch draußen. Und essen und trinken gibt es auch!

Bester Laden, super Auswahl vegetarischer und veganer Gerichte. Neben den Hauptgerichten gibt es immer zwei leckere Kuchen und auch sehr guten Kaffee.

Tolles essen, und nettes Personal, aber die Köchin leckt sich immer wieder ihre Finger ab und hat keine Handschuhe an. Sieht man in der Durchreiche, wenn man mit Blick darauf sitzt. Muss sagen, dass mir das leider echt den Appetit verdorben hat...

Good vegan and vegetarian options, portion were a little small. Nice place at the edge of the city center, very queer and alternative lifestyle friendly.

Echt leckere Gerichte und Kuchen, alles mindestens vegetarisch, fast alles auch vegan erhältlicht und bis jetzt mega! :) Die Auswahl ist riesig, für jeden ist etwas dabei. Die veganen Pizzabrötchen mit Chorizo sind bisher mein Favorit. Wir hatten auch schon diverse Kuchen, die auch alle klasse waren. Das Personal war immer nett, freundlich und aufmerksam. Kartenzahlung ist möglich. Bisher haben wir immer einen Platz bekommen aber wir würden eher eine Reservierung empfehlen, da es häufig schon echt voll war. Am beste vorher anrufen oder etwas zum mitnehmen ordern. Etwas schade fanden wir, dass Dienstag gegen 19:00 Uhr schon der Pizzateig alle war. Schade aber passiert. Etwas nerviger war es leider mit den Kuchen: Wir hatten ordentliche und für den Preis wirklich angemessene Stücke vor Ort und haben dann an einem anderen Tag welche zum mitnehmen bestellt. Die Stücke, die eingepackt wurden, war nicht mal die Hälfte von der Größe, die wir vor Ort hatten und waren für den Preis echt zu klein. Wäre klasse, wenn ihr da etwas ein Auge drauf habt.

Mein Lieblingsladen in Kiel. Preis und Geschmack ist einfach top und der Kellner am Sonntag Nachmittag war auch richtig symphatisch. =)

Gutes Lokal für Menschen, die vegan oder vegetarisch essen möchten. Das Essen könnte besser gewürzt sein, es schmeckte etwas fade(Salat und Pakoras) Die Pizzen waren super, Preise sind günstig, gut für das kleine Portemonnaie! Die Umgebung (Gaarden) ist nichts für Ängstliche. Man muss schon ein gewisses Selbstvertrauen mitbringen um dort abends alleine als Frau in diesem Viertel zu verkehren.

Ich als Fleischfresser muss sagen, leckeres Essen, ohne Fleisch und gemütlich ist der Laden auch. War super!

Das Subrosa ist eine kleine Restaurant-Bar und befindet sich im Stadtteil Gaarden. Der erste Eindruck täuscht etwas, wenn man im Restaurant drin ist, wirkt es direkt einladender. Die Gerichte sind auf vegetarische Produkte abgestimmt. Die Preise für Essen und Getränke ist vergleichsweise günstig. Den Burger und die Pizza fanden wir gut. Die Atmosphäre um das Restaurant herum lässt es allerdings schlechter dastehen als es tatsächlich ist. Die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich und jung, aber auch unabsichtlich Fehleranfällig. Der Gruppenabend hier war aber trotzdem gut.

Mischung aus Bar und Restaurant, freundliches und hilfsbereiter Service, gute und schmackhafte, meist vegane Speisen. Interessant/ g'schmackige Specials. Recht günstige Preise

Alles top! Die Küche schmeckt gut und es sind faire Preise. Jedes Gericht ist vegetarisch oder vegan möglich. Ich liebe die Bratlinge im Subrosa am meisten. Sehr freundlicher Service. Wenn es sehr voll kann es sein, dass du etwas länger wartest, aber das ist auch absolut okay, dafür wird alles frisch zubereitet. Ich würde mir wünschen, dass es die Spinat-Nudeln wieder auf die Karte schaffen :D Die vermissen mein Freund und ich sehr. Liebe Grüße

Das zweite mal da ,nur um schnell einen Kaffee bzw. Espresso zu trinken. Beides kann man trinken, muss man aber nicht. Espresso stark aber ohne Aroma, der Kaffee mittelklasse. Der Außenbereich an der Straße mit Tisch und Stuhl. Innenbereich irgendwie urig(die Toilette auch). Kann nicht sagen welche Leute dort ein und ausgehen, waren beide male die einzigen Gäste (am Nachmittag).Geparkt haben wir am Straßenrand ,ein paar Meter entfernt.

Sehr nette Bedienung - was schon Bett der Reservierung am Telefon auffiel. Zu dritt konnten wir hier einige vegan/vegetarische Gerichte probieren. Leider war die veg. Currywurst schon aus - was wohl für sie spricht... Das alternativ gewählte Vönerfleisch war wohl leider zu lange in der Pfanne und dadurch hart und trocken. Die hausgemachte Minzsoße zu den Pommes hat allerdings positiv überrascht! Für einen Dienstagabend war das Restaurant gut besucht, allerdings ziemlich kalt, um nach dem Essen noch länger zu bleiben.

Ein Besuch wert. An der Bar trifft man immer nette Leute und das Essen wird mit Liebe gemacht...

Kleine nett eingerichtete alternative Kneipe in Kiel Gaarden, oder besser eine Studenteninsel, denn die sind in diesem Stadtteil eher selten vertreten. Zu Essen gibt's auch, aber nur vegetarisch/Vegan. Fazit man kann da gern Mal versacken.

Hmm, Satanburger und Funghipizza. Sehr lecker. Netter Service und ein guter Platz.

We were happy to discover this vegetarian restaurant since we find it a little bit difficult to find interesting vegetarian options when dining out in smaller towns in germany. Everybody had been looking forward to try vegetarian curry wurst - but they were not on the menu that day. Very dissppointing. The other meals we had instead was tasteful a mixed experience. The “gemüse käse wrap” had too much bread for our taste, the “reis-mandel-champignon-pfanne” was very heavy. The “salat- beilage” was great and so was the “tofu-curry-gemüse-pfanne”. The place itself is very speciel and has a great transsexsual accepting vibe to it. We would come back if we were sure they had veggie curry wurst

Bekam lauwarmes Bier serviert, auf die Beschwerde (die sofort genervt aufgenommen wurde) die Antwort: das Glas war kalt als ich das Bier eingeschenkt habe (kommen wohl normalerweise im SR aus dem Kühlregal .... verarschen kann ich mich alleine. Bin aus Solidarität früher gern ins SR ... aber das wars (Jeder der schon mal in einer Kneipe gearbeitet hat, kann diese Antwort beurteilen ... vllt einfach neues Bier (kalt !!) anbieten und gut ist?? ... musst das Bier nicht mehr bezahlen ( wie links alternativ, großzügig ... herablassend) aber das werde ich auch in Zukunft nicht mehr tuen müssen

Natürlich erwarte ich von einem links-alternativen Kollektivladen keine ausgewiesen gemütliche Atmosphäre, zu einem schönen Abendessen passt laute Punkmusik aber schlicht nicht und das nagt neben der WG-Einrichtung etwas am Genuß des Abends. Dieser wird auch leider etwas getrübt von den nur durchschnittlichen Kochkünsten, die leider jegliche Raffinesse vermissen lassen und zum Nachsalzen verleiten. Fazit: nur vegetarische Küche anzubieten reicht leider nicht.

Wir waren an einem Abend im Subrosa und hatten vorher einen Tisch reserviert. Das Restaurant war um 20 Uhr ordentlich besucht. Die Bedienung kam schnell, war freundlich und locker und auf das Essen mussten wir auch nicht lange warten. Die Portionen waren vernünftig, was mich sehr gefreut hatte. Sonst werde ich in Restaurants nicht wirklich satt, aber hier schon! Neben den Portionsgrößen stimmte auch der Preis. Ein tolles Verhältnis! Ganz besonders gefreut hat mich, dass das Subrosa auf vegan und vegetarisch spezialisiert ist. Meiner Meinung nach wertet das Subrosa auch die Ecke von Gaarden deutlich auf, da es einen Teil Lebensqualität dort schenkt. Für mich gab es die Reispfanne und die Pankoras. Der Burger und die Pizza sollen auch Spitze sein.

Leider kein Astra mehr, aber Dithmarscher ist auch ganz ok.. Ich geh dahin, obwohl ich kein Veggie bin..
