Suberg's bei Boente in Recklinghausen

Lunch break at Suberg's near Boente. The beef roulade tasted okay. However, the roulade, red cabbage, and mashed potatoes were at different temperatures, with some of the red cabbage only lukewarm. The mashed potatoes were covered in a thin, yellowish skin, so I suspect they had simply been reheated. This was probably also the reason why my meal was served after only 10 minutes. Too bad, there could have been more.

Full marks. It was our first time there and we really enjoyed it. The atmosphere in the beer garden was rustic, the home-brewed wheat beer was excellent, and the food was excellent at reasonable prices. We'll be back.

It was quite crowded, so you had to get noticed. Prices are reasonable. I ordered a mixed beer drink, which was perfectly fine. I highly recommend it!

We went there for dinner with a larger group! The food was good, no complaints, large portions, and absolutely fantastic value for money. Placing the order took a while, but the food arrived very quickly and everyone got their food at the same time – great! What bothered us, and unfortunately we didn't know, was that at 3 p.m. all the TVs were turned on for the Bundesliga broadcast on Sunday. It was very loud and uncomfortable for a birthday party! There was another large group in Room 1 with us. Holy Communion, they weren't too happy about the situation either! Information was posted on the tables, and it was also outside above the entrance door! However, if you don't know because you had made a reservation weeks in advance, it's not so pleasant! Conversation at the table was no longer possible. If you were just there for a beer or whatever, it wouldn't bother me, but it wasn't so great for our occasion! Well, maybe it's our fault, too, because first and foremost it's a brewery with very good food, so it's perfect for watching League TV, but not for a birthday party with 85-year-old Grandma! So, today's ambiance is a bit off.... ;-)

The food was average, but the asparagus on my asparagus hollandais schnitzel was stale and the head was dried out, and the fries were a bit greasy. It was still delicious, though. Service was good; I asked several times, and one drink was upgraded after it was returned. Atmosphere: It was a football night, which, unfortunately for my planning, was very loud, as I was celebrating my birthday, and the cheering drowned out the noise. Still a nice restaurant in Recklinghausen, doable.

We visited the brewery on Friday, May 23rd. There were three of us, and we were there for lunch. I'll talk about the ambiance, the service, the menu, and the food and drinks. The ambiance is typical of a brewery. Nothing more, nothing less. But I really like it because it's cozy. The service is attentive, friendly, and fast, and they're familiar with the menu. The menu is also typical for a brewery. Everyone should find something to enjoy. There are three house-brewed beers. I tried the dark beer, and it's drinkable, tasty, and very flavorful, and it looks great in the glass. The order was placed and delivered quickly. The food was freshly prepared, plentiful, and very tasty. Ordering more drinks was easy, as the service was attentive but unobtrusive. Conclusion: A restaurant worth a visit, even a longer drive. I want to come back.

Highly recommend Currywurst Poutine. Also good for sharing, enough for two people. The Bavarian dishes (seasonal menu) are also recommended. The same applies to the “€9.90 dishes”. Absolutely sufficient portion size. Quality good. Variation requests from fries to fried potatoes or potato salad are no problem. Price-performance ratio is 100%. Good Pinot Gris at reasonable prices. Very nice beer garden with live music and football. Recommendation.

Im Ruhrgebiet gibt es nicht so sehr viele Brauhäuser, die noch selbst Bier brauen. Hier werden mind. drei verschiedene Biere angeboten, meistens noch ein Saisonbier dazu. Wie saßen draußen im Biergarten , da das Wetter es erlaubte. Das Essen wurde zügig serviert ; die Bedienung war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wer abends nicht eine große Mahlzeit einnehmen möchte, kann, auch mittags, eine warme Kleinigkeit für unter 10 EUR bestellen. Alles frisch zubereitet, auch zwei Veggie Versionen dabei. Alkoholfreies Bier ist in der Flasche dazugekauft, aber für Autofahrer eben wichtig. Die Lage ist mitten in der Fußgängerzone, aber trotzdem ruhig. Ein schönes Lokal, wo man sich auch mit auswärtigen Freunden treffen kann.

I was very convinced! There's nothing better than a home brewery and good food! A really nice beer garden and really great service! We were completely satisfied. Fun fact, it's probably one of the last home breweries in the Ruhr area, if you're not the last, i.e. if you're in the area, you can't miss something like this! Absolutely recommended! In any case, we would love to come back!

Unfortunately, the parties at Boente are slowing down! The entrance fees have increased and all drinks are served in simple plastic cups! I can understand that with beer and soft drinks, but not cocktails!!! A listless DJ plays...

We had lunch with a group of about 25 people. While some were still waiting, others had already finished eating. The portions were rather manageable and the schnitzel was a bit “al dente”. Somehow I remembered it a little differently.

A very nice old brewery converted into a huge pub/restaurant that also has a large outdoor area. Interesting for football fans because there are flat screens everywhere and when there is a game they show current games. Smoking is permitted outside. The food is good but not outstanding. When I visited, the staff was a bit overwhelmed and forgot to bring me a beer twice, but everyone is nice and polite as they should be. You can easily dine here with a whole school class. All in all a great evening and I will definitely go there again.

The service is incredibly unfriendly. The food tastes like it was reheated 12 times in the microwave. Waiting times are enormous. Definitely only go here involuntarily!

We have been guests at the Boente brewery for around 25 years now and it has lost none of its charm and quality over the years. On the contrary, it is always a pleasure to come here. The food is consistently excellent, the drinks, especially the excellent beer, are always a pleasure. The service is attentive, friendly and courteous, and the ambience – whether inside, in the beer garden or on the terrace – is simply perfect for feeling good. It is remarkable how Brauhaus Boente has been able to maintain its high standards for such a long time. For us it is an integral part of our culinary experiences and we look forward to many more years as guests. If you're looking for an authentic brewery experience with first-class quality, you've come to the right place!

Unfortunately, as always, poor service, the guy behind the counter was disturbed by me with my order of two beers while he was eating his fries. Then he asked disgustedly “what kind of beer?” Me: What do you have to choose from? Yes, dark, light, black. This guy is just so rude and annoying. Boente has somehow lived solely on his reputation for decades. It's always disappointing.

Nice shop but then again nothing more. Cold fries, carelessly prepared drinks and some of them have probably been out for 2 days. Except for the presumably mini jobber service, completely disgraceful. No recommendation!!!

Unpleasant experience – not recommended My visit to Suberg’s near Boente was anything but pleasant. It seemed as if you were only treated kindly here if your name was “Maxim” and you had blonde hair and blue eyes. If you have a slightly southern look, guests will stare at you as if you were an alien. The service was also disrespectful and unfriendly. Hospitality should apply to everyone - unfortunately I didn't get the feeling here. Definitely not recommended

All in all, normally 4 stars. Absolute disaster today at carnival. Way too many people outside. The toilets dirty and too crowded. Havana Cola 8 euros and beer 4 euros. I'm willing to pay, but it's so disorganized and overcrowded. Unfortunately it doesn't work at all. I would be happy to come back if there is no event. I won't come to carnival anymore

We wanted to hold a Christmas party, unfortunately the room was far too full, far too loud and there was a Schalke game going on at the same time - it's questionable whether it was lucky that the projector kept breaking down. We saw the service a total of three times, ordering - bringing food and drinks - collecting the money. When asked why no service came, the answer was that the colleague had just cashed in on a larger group. Annoying, especially since the tables were reserved in two shifts and you were then asked to leave. The food was not appropriate for the price, for a small piece of goose breast that was kept warm and completely cooked through and an equally tough leg of goose, a price was quoted that would have been OK given the appropriate quality and quantity - in any case we were very disappointed. Even direct criticism was only addressed succinctly. It's a shame, that's not how you keep customers if you drive home feeling like you've been dismissed. There are definitely some points that should be addressed here.

Boente is my favourite pub in Recklinghuasen. They brew their own beer and it's incredibly tasty. The staff are great, the atmosphere is quiet in the afternoons and picks up in the evenings. I'd recommend this place for football fans on a game night.

We were at Boente with a large group. The service was super nice and guided us well through the evening. The food tasted really good. The schnitzel was really tasty. Price performance is definitely ok.

We are extremely disappointed, a long-planned celebration WITH RESERVATION was simply forgotten! When it was discovered that it didn't fit, no attention was paid to us! After all, you could order drinks and wait in the beer garden when the temperatures are below zero.

Reserved for a Christmas party, arrive here and no one knows anything. We are put off and put in the winter garden where we have to wait. Impudence!!

Wir treffen uns hier in sehr kleinem Kreis auf ein Bier plus eine Kleinigkeit zu essen am frühen Abend. Die Einrichtung ist authentisch für ein echtes Brauhaus, wo auch Bier gebraut wird. Alkoholfreies gibt es als Flaschenbier, nicht selbst gebraut, aber eben wichtig für Autofahrer. Die hauseigenen Biere sind geschmacklich Spitze. Auf der übersichtlichen Speisenkarte gibt es aber etwa sechs verschiedene Gerichte im 10 EUR Bereich, alles frisch zubereitet inkl. gemischtem, frisch zubereiteten Rohkostsalat. Die Bedienung ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Vergleichbare Lokalitäten gibt es im Ruhrgebiet nicht sehr viele.

We were there for the Christmas party from work. I'll start with the ambience. For me, a loud pub with a giant screen showing football. Suitable for friends who would like to see something like this together. I don't want something like that when I want to go out to eat. The only positive thing was the nice, courteous waitress. Quick to think and always friendly. Thanks for that. For dinner, I had goose breast. The skin is mushy and the meat is dry. I had to order more sauce straight away, which came immediately. My impression, I can only speak for myself, very large mass production with very simple food. The steak next to me is very clear. The price is never justified at an estimated 150 to 180 grams. I am very critical when it comes to food, but I eat out every week and can appreciate the products and craftsmanship. I know I could have had my food returned if I hadn't been there in the group. It's a shame that you left me with that first impression. There are probably a lot of other opinions that think the concept is good, otherwise it wouldn't have been full.

Rating for Boente Overall, our visit to Boente was very positive. The reservation went smoothly and without any difficulties. The on-site team was extremely courteous and friendly, which made the stay particularly pleasant. The food was excellent - tasted to a very high standard and prepared with great care. The drinks, especially the beer, were also impeccable and went perfectly with the food. Particularly noteworthy is the very good price-performance ratio, which is rarely found in this combination. The ambience was a small downer: Due to the very high occupancy, it seemed a bit uncomfortable and hectic. However, this only slightly diminished the overall positive impression. Conclusion: A clear recommendation for excellent food, friendly service and a top price-performance ratio. If you prefer a quieter atmosphere, you may want to choose a less busy time.

When Recklinghausen lights up, you can take a break on your tour of the colorful city. We stopped here for a quick refreshment and enjoyed the rustic atmosphere of the old brewery, even though it was very crowded. Gladly again!

We ate here today with 10 people. I ordered the crusty plate and told the waitress that I "DEFINITELY" did not want hollondaise sauce on my plate. After an hour we finally got our food and there was a lot of hollondaise sauce on my schnitzel. When I said that I specifically didn't order hollondaise, our waitress Samira noticed and confirmed that she passed it on to the kitchen. Then another waitress took my plate and 30 seconds later another waitress (short blonde hair) came with my plate and didn't apologize for the mistake, but lectured me about hollandaise sauce and asked if I was allergic. I replied that I didn't like hollondaise sauce and couldn't tolerate it. She took my plate, came back two minutes later and they simply poured the Choron sauce on the hollondaise sauce. Now my meat, which was no longer visible, was swimming in the sauce. It was disgusting and someone else ate my food. Our waitress Samira was really very nice and served us perfectly. The behavior of the kitchen and the blonde waitress was not good at all!

Ambiance is great! You can watch almost an entire 2nd league game including halftime while you wait for your food. As you can see in the picture, I had the elephant ear which tasted excellent. Update! After an hour the food ended up on the table. About the food: It was okay. But after this unreasonable wait, I could have been served a fried boot. The only thing that happened quickly was the payment.

Complete disaster. Waited 25 minutes to order even though we spoke to the staff several times. We then waited another 60 minutes for our food. Then part (burger) of the meal was cold.

Unfortunately I can only give 2 stars. The spare rips, which were highly praised everywhere, were ok, but nothing more. The fries were a disaster, I'm sure at least every other snack bar in the area can do better. Too few staff, sometimes we had to wait a long time to order, but the food came quickly. Nice atmosphere, but super loud. When we arrived, the football was also playing extremely loudly. The prices are still ok, but already at the upper end. We won't be coming back

A great restaurant! We live nearby and eat there very often. There is also a beer garden that is beautifully designed. There are often live concerts, which always create a good atmosphere.

The food here is good and very plentiful. Unfortunately, the quality varies significantly. In the summer we enjoyed the evenings in the beer garden with the live music. On our last visit we were there with the family. Had reservations inside for dinner. To be honest, it wasn't really that good. It was pulling, football was being shown everywhere, the noise from the guests was appropriate and the food didn't convince us either.

We were guests there on October 19, 2024 with two people. The interior of the brewery is very attractively decorated. There are also large outdoor areas, some of which are covered. The food is very tasty, sufficient and absolutely fair in price. The staff is always attentive and prompt in their service. The different beers are a pleasure. We would love to come back to mud and enjoy.
