Today we were in Eltville again at a wine bar. After shopping, our path led us straight to the "Schnock." We've eaten here many times, even 20 years ago. Here, you can forget your stress with a glass of wine and good food. "Nostalgia" lives in this house, which is almost as old as Sanssouci. For me, as a hand cheese sommelier, I have to have a hand cheese every now and then; it's soaked in Riesling, which is a very positive experience for me. My wife and my cousin are sitting there with happy faces, because the schnitzels were perfect and both enjoyed them. The staff here in the restaurant, in our opinion, is first choice. Friendly, smiling and neat—in short, really nice. The prices here, I'd almost say, are geared towards retirees, which I think is good and really great, which is why the courtyard is always full. The evening here was wonderful, and we look forward to seeing you again.

We visited the Klosterschänke first in the afternoon and then for dinner, and the service and food were truly excellent both times. We actually sampled the menu throughout the day and can ultimately recommend every dish without reservation. Whether it was the Klosterbrot (monastery bread), the lukewarm asparagus salad, the marinated salmon fillet, the Vittelo Tonnato (a kind of sardine), or the asparagus soup, everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The main courses, however, were also beyond reproach, with the schnitzel and beef cheeks! We also found the value for money to be excellent every time, especially considering the portion size, including the schnitzel. Therefore, I cannot agree with the criticism in a previous review. The crème brûlée rounded off the very good impression. We will gladly return!
