We spontaneously stopped by here on our way back from a stroll in Schierstein. Although the restaurant was very busy, we were immediately offered a table in the conservatory. It must have been stressful for the staff at that time, but we received extremely friendly service, and the ladies remained attentive throughout. The food was excellent, and the value for money was absolutely convincing. We would definitely be happy to come back.

We were there for a late lunch. There were a few vegetarian dishes, so we went in. Unfortunately, the food was all very greasy, the focaccia was more like fried bread (although homemade), and the green sauce was nowhere near as good as in Frankfurt. You can live with that, but unfortunately, the service wasn't particularly friendly, except for the waitress with curly hair (very friendly, always smiling). The view of the vineyards is great, though.

The food was good and plentiful, but at €25 for chicken with vegetables and rice, it was relatively expensive. Historic walls with stylish furniture. Quite nice.

I discovered the Gelbes Haus wine bar in Eltville by chance – and what can I say: I'm thrilled! The schnitzel with green sauce was simply fantastic. Tender meat, perfectly seasoned, and the sauce was beautifully fresh and aromatic. Absolutely delicious! But it's not just the food that impresses – the service is also top-notch. The service was quick, super friendly, and always with a smile. You feel truly welcome and in good hands. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, ideal for lunch or dinner with friends or family. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend everyone to stop by. A true highlight in Eltville!

The menu offers a successful mix of classic and unusual dishes, so everyone in our small group found something to suit their taste. The food was freshly prepared, delicious, and beautifully served – down-to-earth and consistently harmonious. The shady terrace with a magnificent view of the Rhine makes the stay even more special. A place that locals love to visit – and just as much fun to show off to guests. Always happy to return!

Very expensive for the quality of the food. Most of it was fried, and the salad was filled with sand. Service wasn't friendly either. Very simple and poorly decorated... Never again.

The fries should have been fried a little longer, otherwise the food arrived quickly and was incredibly tasty. The rump steaks we ordered were as requested. The service was really friendly and uncomplicated. The restrooms are located in the basement. You reach them via a staircase. The restrooms were clean, and the radio was playing. We sat on the terrace with a beautiful view. From there, you can see a vineyard and the Rhine.

I had schnitzel. It was okay about six weeks ago, but unfortunately, it wasn't good today. Thick, grease-soaked breading, the meat wafer-thin, so even two pieces wouldn't help. Disappointing.

When the weather's good, you can sit on the terrace with a wonderful view of the Rhine and the vineyards. It's simply fantastic! The food is delicious, including the vegetarian dishes. We love it here. Restrooms aren't wheelchair accessible, though.

Our hotel in Eltville recommended this place to us, and we went there spontaneously without a reservation. We were offered a seat right next to the restroom, as everything else was booked. It wasn't great, but we were grateful to have gotten a seat at all. Service took quite a while, which unfortunately continued throughout our entire stay. The food was good. It was quite loud inside, making it difficult to have a conversation. We will definitely come back, next time with a reservation for the outdoor area. It's supposed to be very nice.

Great ambiance, in the middle of a vineyard, with a view of the Rhine and the ships. Friendly service. Great wines. But the food still has a lot of room for improvement. Eggs with green sauce and fried potatoes: the boiled eggs were already brown, meaning they'd been boiled for several days. The fried potatoes were slightly burnt and completely unseasoned. But the worst was the salad; it felt like it had been sitting in the vinaigrette for three hours. My husband had the steak, and he enjoyed it. But it wasn't beautifully presented for my taste. Nevertheless, we'll go there again; perhaps something has been improved.

Very delicious food, with a stunning view of the Rhine. I can't confirm the good service described in other reviews. The waitresses seemed stressed and disinterested. We didn't get a children's menu, which we only noticed when ordering. A high chair wasn't brought out spontaneously and only arrived with the food after repeated requests. It could be better!

The food was nothing special, a manageable size, and overpriced for that. The summer dumplings were without fillings—I just checked the menu again, and it says summer dumplings WITH a filling of sun-dried tomatoes and basil...there were two dumplings, and the ingredients were completely incorporated into the dough?! The schnitzel was okay. The wine was good, and the coffee was good too. This place thrives on passing traffic. The view is beautiful, and even in bad weather, it's nice to sit on the terrace.

Beautiful terrace overlooking the Rhine. Compared to a visit two years ago, the food and service have improved considerably. Highly recommended. The adjoining Rhine garden is very nice, with self-service and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere.

The food was okay, but nothing more. Not good enough for the price. My Caesar salad with chicken was bland, but edible. My son had schnitzel with steakhouse fries. The schnitzel was okay, but there are much better schnitzels in Eltville and the surrounding area at better prices. The fries were soggy. The ambiance was nice, but the service was rather taciturn.

We had dinner on the outdoor terrace on Wednesday. It was cloudless and over 30 degrees Celsius, but the location of the terrace wasn't a problem (it's in the shade). The view from the terrace is fantastic; you can see the Rhine or the vineyards, which is really great. The food we ordered (starter salads and vegetarian main courses) arrived very quickly, was fresh, delicious, and well-seasoned. Kudos to the kitchen. The service was quick and attentive, but unfortunately, they seemed to be in a bad mood... it can happen sometimes, given the temperatures ;) We'd be happy to come back for dinner.

A charming spot nestled between the Rhine, vineyards, and deckchairs. It's comfortably designed throughout, with plenty of space for small and large events. There's even a children's playground with lovely sand, allowing parents to enjoy a cool drink in peace. The view of the Rhine and the vineyards is a delight.

The two of us sat on the outdoor terrace and had a bite to eat. The food was delicious, everything fresh and beautifully presented, and our special requests were accommodated. The food arrived quickly, and the server was very friendly. The view from the terrace of the Rhine and the vineyards is simply fantastic! We really enjoyed it and would love to come back!

We were there three evenings. The service, location, and ambiance were all very good. The food was good, but not top-notch. In particular, the expensive soup at the starter should have been served hot and with more garnish. But that was the only downside. Therefore, the Yellow House is highly recommended! 🙂

A beautiful, well-maintained house, a good restaurant with a view of the Rhine. Very friendly service, excellent wines. The vacation apartment is tastefully furnished and in a quiet location. For us, it's always a wonderful getaway.

Four of us were able to sit on the terrace. The steak, roast beef, and beef salad, along with fries or fried potatoes and a small salad, were excellent. The service also left nothing to be desired! Good value for money. Highly recommended.

The view is also a dream. The food in the restaurant was very good. Service quick and friendly. We'd love to come back!

I haven't eaten so badly in a long time. Schnitzel tasteless, fried potatoes in fat. Vegetarian dish inedibly spicy. Tartar boringly seasoned. All in all, it's not worth spending your money there. I would like to positively mention the friendly and attentive service, who complained about the food for us in the kitchen twice

The service was very friendly. The food was delicious. And the ambience with a view of the vineyard is simply wonderful. What was eaten was asparagus and boiled potatoes with hollandaise and small schnitzel, meat patties on mashed potatoes with onion sauce and cucumber salad. For dessert there was strawberry tiramisu and passion fruit creme brulee. In terms of price, the yellow house is located higher up but is worth a detour, for example after a walk along the Rhine

Pretty unfriendly. Guest room only sparsely attended. When we asked for just something to drink, we were very rudely told that this was a dining restaurant. There would still be space in the garden. In the pouring rain… haha. It was 3:40 p.m. and the tables were reserved for 6:30 p.m. Earning money doesn't seem necessary.

Unfortunately, the update is negative Since recently, when paying by card, a tip is now deducted by default, no matter how good the service was, unfortunately this is no longer so positive... Five of us had lunch where many others were closed. Already 1 plus point. Once again it was tasty and the service was friendly.

100%, very beautiful. For me it's a holiday feeling. You can feel comfortable on the Rhine with the vineyards. There is a great vineyard right next to the castle. You get coffee, cake, wine and Hessian food to feast on. Deck chairs and seating areas.

Conditional. Winter garden with a view of the Rhine is nice, but cold air blows through. Foccaccia was very fatty, pork tenderloin was good.
