Das Kiekut aka “der Laden mit der unfreundlichsten Geschäftsführerin der Welt“ besticht wie immer durch schlechten Service, schlechtes Benehmen und pure Unhöflichkeit. Die vielen negativen Bewertungen sind sich alle darin einig, dass der Service unfassbar schlecht ist und alt eingesessene Kitzberger:innen und Heikendorfer:innen fragen sich zurecht, wann die Geschäftsführerin endlich abgesägt wird. Die Betreiberin selbst ist eine nette Frau, die aber leider blind zu sein scheint für die katastrophale Fehlbesetzung der Geschäftsführing. Die Tatsache, dass auch die Servicekräfte z.T. unhöflich und leider kritikunfähig sind, findet ihren Ursprung meines Erachtens einzig und allein in der Besetzung der Geschäftsführerin begründet, deren Haltung geprägt ist von Egozentrik, Narzismus und schlichtweg schlechtem Benehmen. Es sei denn, man zeigt der Dame den dicken Geldbeutel - dann kann sie mitunter auch anders und wird fast menschlich. Halb Kitzeberg meidet mittlerweile das Kiekut oder fragt sich, wann dieser Ort endlich zu einem Ort der Herzlichkeit und des Wohlbefindens aufsteigen wird. Bis dahin haben wir zumindest weiterhin viele Gelegenheiten, um uns die neuesten Anekdoten über die Geschäftsführerin zu vertelen. Das ist ja schon mal was…

The view is wonderful. You can sit comfortably inside with a great glass front or outside at tables and chairs and pallet furniture. Also available to rent for celebrations. Unfortunately, my caramel macchiato didn't have enough caramel, but that's a matter of taste.

Ended up here by pure chance....the exhibit outside read: FRESH MUSSELS....we are clean.....rustic furnishings....with a fireplace......and a view over the Kiel Fjord ..... Service: brilliant, such a friendly waiter... Drinks: STÖRTEBEKER KELLERBIER: smooth, tasty and at the right temperature...... APPLE spritzer: big, cool and delicious.....and then the MUSSELS. ....700gr.....cooked in a very tasty stock, with vegetables, perfect combination.....with BAGUETTE 🥖 and AIOLI.....🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔AIOLI????with mussels?? ??? I'll tell you what.......that was absolutely awesome......and another thing......that wasn't the last time we went there......absolute recommendation ...... SECRET TIP 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Stopped in there after a walk with the dog... beautiful view. Water bowl also provided for the dog. Price/performance recommended!

After a while, a responsible service person was found and we were able to place the first order; performance improved over the course of the day. For dinner there were leaf scows, which can be found on the menu with the starters. The consistency was good, unfortunately you couldn't taste the beef. The ambience is breathtaking and the only reason why you should come back.

Beautiful, we visited it on a bike trip. Right by the sea, great ambience (a mix of modern and rustic). Service very friendly. Prices okay. Unfortunately we can't rate the food, we only had drinks. Definitely next time. Gladly again.

We wanted to book an appointment in the restaurant for a family celebration with 30 people. Unfortunately, this is only possible online, and the meal can only be arranged online. We would like to have a personal conversation for such a big celebration. We will not hold a celebration there,

A real insider tip. Discovered by chance and immediately loved it. A fantastic place with a great view of the fjord. Not only a culinary experience, the staff is also really great. Only discovered at the end of our holiday, but we will definitely be back next time we stay.

Someone is probably resting on their previous laurels. Mega unfriendly staff, not at all on their toes. I was surprised that there were hardly any guests there when the weather was so beautiful. I can also drink my coffee or champagne somewhere else. That was a sentence with “X”.

The location of the restaurant is unique: right on the beach, depending on the situation, bathers or water sports enthusiasts present themselves directly in front of the window. The audience is a mix of people who have a lot of time during the day and younger walkers. Comfortably furnished with some old charm and supported by the staff, it took 15 minutes for the service to come to the table. Based on this experience and since three tables were recorded directly beforehand, the question of how long it would take to prepare the food (“longer than 20 minutes?”) was answered by asking in the kitchen. The order (“salad + Markeruper duck breast fillet refined with orange butter”) was taken away. After 5 minutes the food suddenly arrived (“It happened really quickly now.”). Very accommodating! The salad without surprises, solid, relatively small. The duck breast slices were individually fried, tender, tasted good, but without the expected orange aroma. Worth a try in conjunction with a visit to the beach.

Delicious food with nice service directly overlooking the fjord. Prices are a little higher, but it's worth it. The location with the view of the fjord and the ships and the beautifully decorated outdoor terrace with delicious food are absolutely worth it.

Admittedly, the atmosphere was great, but I've never been treated so disrespectfully by the staff in my life! I work in service myself and I have never experienced how the employees talked down to me and my friends. Thanks to their inappropriate behavior, we didn't even get around to ordering. I would prefer not to even give it a star. Too bad!

Rich and incredibly well cooked menu!!! Warm and authentic atmosphere!!!! From the table you can see the Kiel Canal or, like just now, a seal that came briefly to the sandy beach. We are happy to have discovered “Kick ut” on our annual trip between Switzerland and Sweden, Big compliment!!!!!!

The food is really great here and so is the ambience. Unfortunately we found the service to be very inattentive. Although it wasn't very busy inside or out, we had to wait a long time until our order was taken and despite being spoken to several times, the service didn't respond to us, so we didn't order anything else after the main course.

It's shocking when I read how unfriendly some existing reviews are. This makes me very thoughtful and I'm already expecting the next unfriendly answer after I share my experience. Nevertheless, I feel obliged to share my experience with future potential guests. Because I was shocked! I have never been served - let alone treated - in such a way in my life! Never in my life could I imagine treating my fellow human beings so disrespectfully (and you shouldn't forget that I was a guest!). I come from the catering industry myself and have never seen my guests roll my eyes or imitate them. In situations where you would like your guests to show more respect, you can communicate this openly in order to avoid misunderstandings. Instead, my comment that I would like to be served more nicely is not taken into account at all. It's a shame because two adult service staff were expected to be able to handle constructive criticism. Furthermore, it was assumed that my friend was recording our conversation while she was just holding her cell phone in her hand and looking thoughtful. We were even threatened with the police - unbelievable! I am very disappointed, especially since I was not surprised that other guests smiled at me and confirmed the behavior of the service. I thought maybe it was something personal, but it seems I'm not alone in thinking that! Dear restaurant, I would prefer not to give you any stars because I have never experienced such a disrespectful experience as a guest and I hope that no one has to experience it in the future. Unfortunately, I will not recommend you.

Friendly service and great food. Since the kiosk on the beach was closed, we got our food there. It was no problem packing this for us. The waiting time was ok (10/15 minutes at most)… considering that guests in the restaurant also had to be served. I can only recommend.

We celebrated our wedding in a small group in the next room at Kiek ut and it was wonderful! Delicious aperitif outside, followed by delicious food inside. Everything was beautifully decorated and very nice, attentive and courteous service and a lot of patience when it got later and louder than expected in the evening. Even without making any major arrangements in advance, you can be sure that everything is well organized and professionally implemented. Unrestricted recommendation!

We had a wonderful evening in Kiekut, we were able to enjoy the SunSet menu in the best atmosphere and the most delicious food, while the service really fulfilled our every wish. Many thanks to Adrian for his efforts, we recommend the restaurant for anyone who wants to escape from everyday life in Kiel, take the 10-minute ferry to the other side and unwind for a few hours. Always my pleasure! By the way, the sea bass in lemon sauce was particularly delicious!!!

Kiek ut is a small, beautiful restaurant right on the beach. You can sit outside here in summer, and in winter you can enjoy the cozy atmosphere inside and look at the sea through the large windows. The food is tasty and reasonably priced, although this certainly has to be assessed individually. The service is solid and always friendly. As Kiel residents, we often enjoy going to the beach there. And whenever we are there, we like to stop by Kiek ut. You can also take your fries to the beach.

The food is rather at the lower level of ability of the chefs, whose sandy salad tempts you to drink, and the management is grumpy. Based on Harry Potter, the mouthy Myrtle! The viewing rondel has been renovated and has taken away much of the charm of the old style with the curved single glazing. There's nothing going on today, the store is closed. The view is nice, but the stupid lake bridge that no one is repairing isn't one of them, even though it's close by. ... It's better to take your sandwiches with you and the coffee in the thermos and sit on the benches. - Oh, by the way, the chefs are smokers!

Ich hatte kürzlich die Gelegenheit, das neue Menü im Restaurant "Genussreich" zu probieren, und ich muss leider sagen, dass ich von der Qualität der Speisen stark enttäuscht war. Die angebotenen Gerichte waren alles andere als schmackhaft und ließen deutlich zu wünschen übrig. Besonders negativ ist mir der Spargelsuppe aufgefallen, welche meiner Meinung nach weit entfernt von jeglicher kulinarischen Qualität war. Es schien, als ob man einfach Mehl mit Wasser vermischt und dann ein paar Stücke Spargel hinzugefügt hatte. Der Geschmack war fade und die Konsistenz äußerst unappetitlich. Auch der Salat mit Ziegenkäse enttäuschte auf ganzer Linie. Statt eines frischen und ausgewogenen Salates erhielt ich eine Art Kuchen mit Käse. Die Kombination war unpassend und wirkte lieblos zusammengestellt. Insgesamt muss ich sagen, dass die Qualität der Speisen im Restaurant "Strandrestaurant Kiek ut" deutlich zu wünschen übrig lässt. Es wäre wünschenswert, dass mehr Aufmerksamkeit auf die Auswahl des Hauptkochs gelegt wird, um sicherzustellen, dass die Gerichte nicht nur kreativ, sondern auch von hoher Qualität zubereitet werden. Ich hoffe, dass in Zukunft mehr Wert auf die Auswahl der Zutaten und die Zubereitung der Gerichte sowie auf die Kompetenz des Hauptkochs gelegt wird, um den Gästen ein wirklich genussvolles kulinarisches Erlebnis bieten zu können. När jag vänligt bad om att få returnera rätten och be om återbetalning, nekades jag detta av restaurangens chef. Det är viktigt att påpeka att chefens beteende var oacceptabelt och opofessionellt. Som kund har jag rätt till en adekvat kundtjänst, inklusive möjligheten att returnera missnöjda produkter och få en återbetalning. Review of the restaurant "Strandrestaurant Kiek ut" I recently had the opportunity to try the new menu at the "Genussreich" restaurant and I'm sorry to say that I was very disappointed with the quality of the food. The dishes on offer were anything but tasty and clearly left a lot to be desired. I was particularly negative about the asparagus soup, which in my opinion was far from any culinary quality. It seemed like they simply mixed flour with water and then added a few pieces of asparagus. The taste was bland and the consistency extremely unappetizing. The salad with goat cheese was also completely disappointing. Instead of a fresh and balanced salad, I received a kind of cake with cheese. The combination was inappropriate and seemed carelessly put together. Overall, I have to say that the quality of the food in the restaurant "Strandrestaurant Kiek ut" leaves a lot to be desired. It would be desirable that more attention be paid to the selection of the main chef to ensure that the dishes are prepared not only creatively but also of high quality. I hope that in the future more emphasis will be placed on the selection of ingredients and the preparation of the dishes, as well as on the competence of the main chef, in order to be able to offer guests a truly enjoyable culinary experience. Was there for a birthday. Everyone there is super friendly, the food was consistently delicious (buffet) and I'll definitely go there again.

That was incredible. And we have been visiting the restaurant since 1985, when it was still a pizzeria and an evening meeting place for local residents. So there are two waiters walking back and forth in the restaurant, but there is no service. When you return your glasses: "Put them somewhere." Then we wanted to reserve 2 places for my wife's birthday. It was said that if a larger group came and claimed our tables, our reservation would be void. We have never been treated with such arrogance in a restaurant. So far we've only noticed this arrogance on the part of the owner, but it's now probably rubbing off on the new staff. Well, let them sell their convenience food to tourists if their neighbors don't want them.

Wir hatten am Samstag vor Ostern unsere Familienfeier im Kiek ut mit 36 Personen. Alles war bestens organisiert - vom Buffet, Kuchen ,Getränke - alles war hervorragend. Ein grosses Lob geht an die nette Bedienung / Kellner ( ich sag nur Osterhase 😍). Werde sicher wiederkommen, um alles nochmal zu geniessen- vielen Dank

Very friendly and courteous service. The food is wonderfully simple and therefore very tasty in a fine way. The menu is also well designed so that there is something for every taste. Smart ingredients, very good preparation. We had the Mathes with roasted potatoes (great without bacon) and the salad with sea bass, both tip-top. The location and the view are very great. Probably the most beautiful restaurant view in Kiel. Delicious cakes/cakes and drinks, the staff was also super nice, even though we arrived at a very bad time. Highly recommended, the drinks are probably a bit more expensive given the location

Dear Kiek ut team, unfortunately I have to express my displeasure about your inflexibility. I just called (Wednesday) and wanted to reserve a table for 6 people for Sunday at 6:30 p.m. They told me I could only stay 1 hour until 7:30 p.m. or reserve from 7:30 p.m. then open end. But I couldn't make reservations twice in a row at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. But I could ask someone in my group to reserve the same table from 7:30 p.m., that wouldn't be a problem. Then we wouldn't even have to change the table. I'm sorry, what? Whoever wants to understand that. I am (or was) a regular guest and have always eaten extensively. The stars are for the food, which I was always happy with. The ambience is also great. But you have missed out on customer service. You had the opportunity to get 6 satisfied and returning guests. Now you have 6 dissatisfied guests who turn their backs on your house and make the real story public for everyone to see. And leave your money (your salary!) somewhere else. Very unfortunate. No communication between the staff, no vegetarian main dishes (no flexible alternatives either), long waiting times, 2x non-alcoholic beer was not non-alcoholic, the only response was "ah ok". Very disappointed. The star is for the view, even if the weather was bad.

Wegen meiner negativen Bewertung aus 05/20 (s.u.) wurde mir jetzt (01/24) über Google eine anwaltliche Mail mit frechen Unterstellungen zugestellt und mit Löschung gedroht! Wenn ich auf die Zahl der Bewertungen jetzt und vor dieser anwaltlichen Aktion blicke, sind mindestens 80 negative Bewertungen verschwunden. Die Inhaberin fällt uns seit Jahren als völlig dauergestresst und unfreundlich auf, Bedienungen zum Teil auch. Nachdem es einmal richtig schlimm war, werden wir das Restaurant nun endgültig nicht mehr besuchen. Es waren sehr wenig Gäste auf der Terrasse, so dass ich es wagte höflich zu fragen, ob wir den Tisch wechseln dürfen. Wir saßen plötzlich in der prallen Sonne, das hatten wir leider beim Hinsetzen nicht richtig durchdacht. Als Antwort erlebten wir und die anderen Gäste eine laute, etwas längere Beschimpfung durch die Inhaberin "dann müssen wir extra desinfizieren....usw", kurz danach ein ähnlicher Auftritt der jungen Mitarbeiterin, zum Fremdschämen. Beide meinten, uns wie Schulkinder zusammenfalten zu müssen. Da wir uns nicht auf das Niveau begeben wollten, schwiegen wir und verließen nach dem Essen sofort für immer das Restaurant.

Small, nice and extremely comfortable. Staff very attentive and friendly. Food was very tasteful. A very clear recommendation from me. A small sticking point or rather a suggestion would be signage at the top of the street and on the way there, especially for people who are not local.

Went there for the first time today with my wife and were very pleasantly surprised when we entered. The atmosphere was rustic and cozy, we had a great window seat so we could look out over the fjord. The food we enjoyed was very delicious and cooked to perfection. The staff was always very attentive without being intrusive. A small suggestion from me would be if there were better signs above the road. It is definitely a recommendation and we will visit it again in the summer when the outdoor area is open to visitors.

Positive: Great location, especially in the evenings with the evening sun. And the service was friendly and attentive. But the food was a disgrace: poorly seasoned, small portions and an outrageous price. All the more surprising because the map is small and clear – actually a good sign. I had corn poularde on ratatouille with baked potatoes for 16.80. The chicken was bland. No wounds. Apparently the chef hasn't heard that chicken should be rubbed with salt at least a few hours beforehand. The ratatouille was in the oven for far too long and the vegetables were correspondingly mushy. The baked potatoes could have used some salt. Panna cotta for dessert. It was just okay, but €8.90 for a small glass? Are we here in Times Square? The question about red wine recommendations was answered succinctly with "We have Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Montepulciano". Ah yes, that makes the decision easy.... Addendum January 2024: The original review above is about 5 years old. Kiek ut has now apparently hired a lawyer to have the review deleted. I'm currently being confronted by Google asking for a statement. The operator feels “his personal rights have been violated”. Among other things, I would now like to provide evidence. People doubt that I was even a guest. This way of dealing with customers (even if they are critical) confirms what has been described quite strikingly.

Wonderful! Very friendly staff, we were helped immediately when we politely asked for a free table! Top. Cakes and drinks were very tasty and quick service rounded off the afternoon. We were here for the first time and we were thrilled. A big compliment to all the employees who worked professionally.

Ich war schon mehrfach dort essen- nun bereits seit einigen Monaten nicht mehr. Ich weiß nicht, ob der Koch neu ist, jedenfalls war das Essen einfach spektakulär gut. Von der Vorspeise über den Hauptgang bis zum Dessert. Da wir selbst gerne gut kochen und jede Woche in unterschiedlichen Restaurants essen gehen, werden wir nur noch selten überrascht. Aber diesmal ist es dem grandiosen Koch mehrfach gelungen und selbst die Bedienung war freundlich (was dort leider bisher selten der Fall war). Beide Daumen hoch, Danke!

Sehr gemütliche Atmosphäre mit Kamin und am Wasser gelegen. Wir hatten eine kleine Familienfeier und der Kellner war sehr umsichtig und aufmerksam. Individuelle Wünsche wurden uns in diesem Zusammenhang alle erfüllt. Das Essen war unglaublich gut und reichhaltig. Die Qualität war ausgesprochen gut. Von Entenbrust mit Salat, über Fisch, Ravioli, halbe Ente war alles hervorragend. Zum Abschluss Zimteisdessert, Bratapfel und die besonderen Eiskugelsorten waren es ein Genuss. Danke.

Das Essen war wirklich hochwertig und hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Empfehlen können wir hier die Fischsuppe und den Ziegenkäse. Die Location und der Blick auf den Sonnenuntergang sind ein Besuch wert. Das SunSet Dinner war den Preis wert. Loben möchten wir vor allem das überaus gute Servicepersonal vor Ort :) danke für die tolle Betreuung.
