Not posh, more pragmatic - the self-service, the food, the setting. Preferably during the week when the sky is cloudy, then it's romantically quiet...!

A very idyllic place. You can set up chairs and tables from the bistro right by the water, in the shade of the trees. There you have a wonderful view of the Rhine and the ships, boats and jet skis, etc. passing by. Absolutely suitable for chilling out. Today was a hot day, but being on the water, in the shade with a warm breeze and a cold drink was just awesome. Shortcoming: when I asked which sausage was used for the currywurst, the answer was: just sausage, it doesn't matter. Further inquiry whether beef, bratwurst, coarse or fine... Answer: it's sausage, I have no idea which one... from the grill! There was somehow no grill, just a drip pan (?!?) I didn't want to go through THAT. I took sausage salad with fries ... I won't order again. It was barely dressed and the fries were lukewarm and unsalted... What a shame. Maybe I caught the person off guard. Drinks were good and there was a large selection available at reasonable prices. The shortcoming didn't affect my holiday mood. I come back here often. What was extremely unpleasant, however, were the toilets!!! PURE DISGUST:-(( According to the information given to those who could only be reached via a high staircase, the campsite and the operator of the Oro are responsible for this. Unfortunately no one feels responsible... No piece of toilet paper, nothing to dry hands and 2 of the TOIs were used by people suffering from diarrhea, the songs weren't very accurate... NO TRACE of hygiene... The health department would have theirs true joy!!! As I said, there wasn't much going on that day around the early afternoon. I don't want to know what it looks like on the weekend... I don't even want to imagine... I've been here several times now and the holiday mood hasn't changed!!! It's pure relaxation every time. Unfortunately we made the mistake of ordering something to eat today... Not a good idea. We were looking forward to a Pizza Diavolo. We got a pizza with peppers, some cheese and pepperoni. The sausage and olives that are usually on it weren't there... But that was our mistake because we order pizza like that everywhere without looking at the menu. Bad luck, because here under Diablo the pizza was actually as received... The result was a very tasty pizza dough with toppings without any taste. Even the hot peppers couldn't change that... the rest was just bland... Maybe they should have thrown a few sachets of salt on it??? We're really not demanding, but that was just nothing. Conclusion: we continue to enjoy the holiday atmosphere, we certainly won't eat there again!!!

The sunsets are always beautiful here. The food is delicious, but it's annoying when order numbers are called out over the loudspeaker. There are already other ways to signal that a dish is ready, for example through light key chains.

One of the last nice places in Mannheim which are not either overcrowded or too expensive. Very nice setting with good food and drinks at fair prices.

Fine dining on the Rhine promenade. There are always things worth seeing here. Although swimming is officially forbidden, there are always a few daring people who hang onto the passing ships and let themselves be pulled along for a bit. The serious difference to Monaco and the like: *Here* there are no paparazzi or impostors.

An oasis of a special kind. Lots of nice and relaxed guests who gather on the banks of the Rhine for what is currently one of the best pizzas in Mannheim and enjoy the atmosphere. A team that, despite endless constant stress, always remains friendly and provides great service! Respect and thank you!

It's clean, the owners are nice. Above all, the ice cream tastes very good. The ambience is of course simply great at the lido.

Great location and lots of charm! The sea bream was a poem! The grilled vegetables and fries are also great! The numbering system works. The staff was always very friendly to me. Small drawback that the card payment didn't work that day, but not that tragic. All in all, a great place to unwind and eat well! I would love to come back.

We have been visitors for years... Yes the prices have increased... but still the atmosphere and the mood and then the Rhine are simply heavenly... what we don't understand are the hygienic conditions... the toilets... for These are the prices you would expect...

Top location with great views of the Rhine. So much for the positive. Curry/French fries with self-service, unfriendly staff, unattractive restaurant and inflexible kitchen that can't even offer an alternative to bread rolls for €8.50 - someone has understood the "rip-off" system well. In Berlin at the most famous currywurst stand in Germany you can get curry/chips with 0.5l drink and self-service for €4.30! Here in the province at twice the price. Never here again.

The food is actually quite good. The toilets, however, are an impertinence, just when you walk past downstairs you are hit by the smell of ammonia.

Been coming here for years. Everything is always good and the bar and kitchen team are nice. BUT unfortunately that has completely changed!! The team behind the bar (drinks) is still OK, but the kitchen team (ordering food and serving food) is not working at all!!! They are absolutely rude (on the last visit one of them even spit in the kitchen trash can), they don't say "please" or "thank you". The food is just “slapped” in a completely unfriendly and arrogant manner. It's a shame, because it was always an insider tip. We still go there for a drink, but never for food anymore 🤷🏻‍♂️

The location is unique and unbeatable. The prices are OK. Self-service due to staff shortages? What definitely needs to be improved are the sanitary facilities; that borders on being cheeky. If you sell goods for good money, everything should be fine 😳

If you are looking for a short break in spring/summer/autumn with an Italian feeling in Mannheim, this is the right place. Strolling along the beach promenade directly on the Rhine beach and then sitting in the sun with a delicious drink with a pizza or an ice cream - wonderful. Almost like in Italy, just completely different

We went there today after a walk to get a coffee at the counter for the terrace. Unfortunately, they didn't want to let us out of the machine due to a "lack of capacity", although it wasn't as if the restaurant was bursting at the seams... What a shame! If you treat (potential) customers well, then you don't have to worry about 19% VAT!

Freundliches Personal und leckeres essen

Wie sind oft mit unsren Kinder dort. Ein richtig gutes Naherholungsgebiet für die Familie. Das Essen wird immer frisch zubereitet und schmeckt lecker ….

Ambiente: genial. Strandbad Mannheim, bei entsprechenden Wetter hervorragend. Essen: unsere Pizzen waren in Ordnung, nicht mehr nicht weniger. Service: alles Selbstbedienung, die Herrschaften müssen nur von hinterm Tresen aus Bestellungen annehmen und kassieren. Dennoch, allesamt genervt, gestresst und nicht wirklich gut gelaunt. 45 € für drei Pizzen und vier Getränke. Geht heutzutage auch schlimmer, sicherlich aber auch besser. Das Ambiente reißt es raus.

Essen ist echt gut und günstig, Getränke ebenso. Ambiente: klar direkt am Wasser herrlich! Die Sache mit dem Lautsprecher...naja, ist halt nötig aber naja. Ich bin gern da.

I have dined for years now at this nice Italian restaurant along the Rhein river in Mannheim, and it left a delightful impression. The place have self-service concept, making the experience relaxed and efficient. The menu boasts an a good selection of delectable fishes, salads and a selection of good pizzas. I couldn't resist trying all, and they were both on the spot. Plus, the quick ice cream on-the-go was a sweet closure every time ! The views by the river were a perfect backdrop, the prices were surprisingly wallet-friendly, and the portions are quite reasonable. Highly recommended for a tasty meal with a view! 🍕🥗🐟🍦🌊🇮🇹🇩🇪

Da wir nebenan auf dem Campingplatz waren, haben wir uns mehrmals Pommes und Pizza geholt. Nettes Personal, Essen war schnell fertig. Und das Eis ist besonders zu empfehlen, sehr lecker.

Schöner Ort am Strandbad, man kann sich schön hinsetzen und man fühlt sich nicht eingequetscht zwischen den doch seher vielen Tischen draussen. Das Essen ist gut, man bestellt es an der Kasse, bekommt eine Nummer welche dann aufgerufen wird und man holt es sich daraufhin ab. Das einzig störende ist das ständige sehr laut Aufgerufe der Zahlen. Sitzt man direkt an einen Lautsprecher, was schwer zu Vermeiden ist, so wird man alle paar Minuten zugedröhnt von aufgerufenen Zahlen. Letztendlich ist es jedoch nicht allzu störend und man kann eine schöne Zeit dort verbringen.

Direkt am Rhein sitzen, erschwingliches und sehr gutes Essen. Kann man jedem empfehlen. Ab sofort ein Stammlokal....

Die Nummernansage ist ziemlich laut - am besten seitlicher oder weiter unten am Wasser sitzen. Ansonsten top

Einfach unkompliziert, man nimmt sich einen Tisch Stühle und sucht sich einen schattigen Platz. Essen und Trinken holt man sich selbst, Pizza, Pasta, Wurstsalat usw. Alles sehr gut.

Man kann sehr schön draußen sitzen mit Blick auf den Rhein. Das Essen ist gut und preiswert. Dafür gibt's nur Selbstbedienung, was aber nicht weiter stört. Das Personal ist nett und man kann sogar Extrawünsche äußern. Ich komm gerne immer wieder.

Super Pizza in Bestem Ambiente direkt am Rhein. Man kann die Stühle und Tische gerne runter ans Ufer tragen oder sich ne Picknickdecke mitnehmen. Am geilsten ist die seit Jahren unveränderte Lautsprecheranlage mit der die Bonnummern ausgerufen werden. Total verzerrt ich lach mich jedes mal schlapp.

Lebt natürlich vom Rhein- feeling. Gutes italienisches Essen, Campingfeeling. Sehr beliebt.

Schön gelegenes Lokal im Strandbad am Rhein mit Urlaubsflair. Das Essen ist in Ordnnung. Man bekommt nicht immer die gleiche Qualität. Es ist Selbstbedienung, mal ist das Personal nett und freundlich und manchmal merkt man, dass das Personal keinen Bock hat. Die Ansagen zur Essensausgabe ist teilweise etwas undeutlich.

Die entspannte Atmosphäre hier am Strandbad ist nicht zu überbieten. Ist nix für ein gediegenes Abendessen. Aber dafür gibt's zum Sonnenuntergang Aperol Spritz und Pizza. Und wenn kein Tisch und Stuhl mehr frei ist, setzt man sich halt mit der Picknickdecke auf den Kiesstrand. Urlsubsfeeling pur!
