Solid option with French flair 😉

Unfortunately, disappointing. I found €6.90 for a single bottle of water from a SodaStream outrageous. Equally outrageous was €10.00 for a bread basket for four people containing a bit of lard, two pats of butter, and a little tuna spread. Our duck leg lacked any finesse, the dumplings were rather bland, and the sweet potato puree served with them was ice-cold. It came with two chestnuts and red cabbage that tasted like it came straight from a jar. The service was hopelessly overwhelmed. They were inattentive; we constantly had to get their attention. The drinks and food were served very unprofessionally, always right in front of my husband's face. A real shame.

We discovered this charming restaurant through Taste Twelve. Delicious food, friendly staff, and excellent wines. A must-try.

Super nice shop with great value and very, very good wines! We'll be coming more often from now on and have a new favorite place in Cologne ❤️

We dined at the Stickel restaurant on our third wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful evening in a beautifully modern restaurant with an outstanding wine list and incredibly attentive service. We discovered Stickel through the taste12 voucher book and can highly recommend it. We had lamb ragout and grilled octopus, and it's not often found on menus these days when it's prepared so well. Thank you, and see you next time.

I'm only giving it one more star because the ambiance is nice and the bread for the appetizer, which was a whopping €3 per person, was delicious. Otherwise, it was a one-star experience for my girlfriend and me, and we're never going back. 👎🏼 The waiter there was absolutely unbearable and extremely unpleasant. He was overwhelmed with five tables outside and let all the guests (except for the two regulars next to us) know it with audible groans, rolling eyes, and annoyed "tsk-tsk." We'd never experienced anything like it! Up front, he was a very inauthentic, touchy-feely kind of guy, calling us "sweets," "you sweethearts," and the like. Which was just unpleasant because he acted completely annoyed as soon as we asked a question. For example: after we hadn't even seen a menu for over 30 minutes, and I dared to cautiously and politely ask for one, the answer was that we could probably "keep our feet still" 😳 I was brought a small side salad, even though I had ordered a large one. Despite discussion, it wasn't changed on the bill, forcing us to pay the price for the large one. The glass of wine was cheekily served for less than 0.1 and cost €5. I just wanted mayo with my fries, but they didn't have it. I ordered the truffle sauce. The side fries were fried in old grease and hollow inside = €11. This place is completely overpriced and, unlike Balthasar, can't deliver. Neither in service nor in food. The icing on the cake of the whole experience was the staff and the regular couple, who were loudly gossiping about us customers outside the restaurant. 🙄 When we didn't tip, I wasn't given my full change and was cheekily asked if that was okay. "No. I deliberately didn't give any change. You're being a burden to the restaurant. I'd like my full change, please," was my reply. Save yourself the trouble, and anyone in the restaurant industry who can't treat customers in a friendly and authentic manner should please leave!

Very good food, but unfortunately the service was poor. Our table reservation outside was forgotten. We had to wait about 20 minutes to order inside and about 40 minutes for our starter and main courses, which were served simultaneously, even though we hadn't ordered them. We would have liked more drinks, but the waiter never came to our table. We had to wait another 35 minutes for the bill, despite asking several times. The bill had to be adjusted because it listed starters we hadn't ordered or received. It was supposed to be a nice restaurant visit, but the poor service spoiled it. Even the good food didn't help.

Great restaurant, delicious, modern food at more than fair prices for the quality offered. Friendly, attentive service. Product quality has its price more than ever these days. Fantastic wine list. It's nice that restaurants like this still exist.

Unfortunately, our evening at Stickel was a bit mixed. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. It took quite a while before we could order, and then the ingredients for all our drinks weren't available (they were simply omitted). After the appetizers arrived (very tasty but also very garlicky), one of the main courses was also no longer available. The main courses arrived 1.5 hours after we arrived and, although well prepared, were particularly unexceptional, especially the vegetarian dishes. When we asked for a wine recommendation to go with our meal, we didn't get a clear answer, so we chose the wine ourselves. Overall, the service took quite a while (at one point, we weren't asked if we wanted anything else to drink, and our plates remained on the table for quite a while. We ended up paying at the counter). So, it's a shame, because the restaurant and concept have a lot of potential.

Very friendly, attentive staff, delicious food, and special requests, like a whisky sour, are happily accommodated. I'll be coming here more often!

This was our second time at this restaurant, and this time it was really good. Despite the large number of guests and a minor injury to one of the team members, the service was perfect. The swordfish and the chops served were of the highest quality, and the wine recommendation was also excellent. Great restaurant with a truly recommendable wine list.

We reserved a table for a party with friends. A cell phone number was noted. On the day itself, we were told that there was only a small menu because the chef was away on a training course. So, it had been planned for a while. They should have informed us. We wanted fish, but apart from chicken, the menu was very limited and completely overpriced. A bread basket for four people cost €10. Fries with truffle mayonnaise from a jar cost almost €11. Unfortunately, the other dishes weren't good either. The Spanish red wine tasted good, but that was the last bottle. We ended up getting another Spanish red wine, which, after a long search, was almost twice as expensive. Unfortunately, this one wasn't worth recommending either. What a shame! We can't recommend this restaurant.

The Stickel is a restaurant and wine bar that combines excellent food with meat, fish, and vegetable dishes, along with a wide selection of wines. The restaurant is also recommended for vegetarians, with a good selection of vegetarian dishes. In the shade of St. Peter's Church, you can enjoy outdoor seating in the summer. The menu also features surprising combinations and seasonal dishes. The service is excellent; the owner and staff create a relaxed atmosphere at the Stickel. A very nice place.

A culinary highlight! The grilled octopus was simply sensational – perfectly cooked, with a wonderfully smoky aroma. The service was quick, attentive and very customer focused. You really feel welcome here.

We got to know and appreciate the Stickel restaurant through Taste Twelve. The food was very tasty and nicely decorated. The service was very friendly. Price performance was right. Nice ambience and clean! We were very satisfied!

The service and the food offered are good. Unfortunately a bit expensive. The price for the grilled octopus is not reasonable. Portions tend to be rather small.

We just had dinner in this incredible restaurant. I can really recommend it to everyone. I have rarely eaten such a good piece of steak. The service was so incredibly nice. Definitely not the last time I've been here.

I have lived in Cologne for many years and am happy to have rediscovered this shop today. Definitely 5 stars and one of my new favorite restaurants from today.

Very nice service, great food and all in all a restaurant that makes you feel good.

So first the positive: the service was great and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Unfortunately my steak was the worst I've ever had. A quarter was just fat, it was very stringy and in some places it was still very raw (medium was ordered). I hate throwing away food, especially meat, but unfortunately this was inedible. The waiter apologized for this, but unfortunately we weren't even offered a small compensation (in the form of schnapps, dessert or something similar)... But the fries were very tasty!

We actually had a lovely evening at Stickel, but we were surprised when we received the bill. I thought €11 for a 200ml glass of white wine was really excessive. Unfortunately it stops me from going for a wine there.

I spent an evening in the Stickel Restaurant with a friend – and we were absolutely thrilled. The taste of the food was excellent, the selection was consistent and the quality was convincing. Particularly noteworthy is the friendly and attentive service, who looked after us well throughout the evening. Whether cozy indoors or relaxed outdoors – both offer a very inviting atmosphere. There is also a very nice wine list that rounds off the visit perfectly. We'd love to come back!

It was really a very nice evening. The excellent food, the good service and the great ambience contributed to this. Of course, first and foremost my companion. We found out about Stickel through social media and really wanted to try it out. We were there on a Friday evening and the restaurant was already very full at 5:30 p.m. After a delicious Cremant from the Jura, which the more than friendly restaurant manager (we assume) had unmistakably recommended to us as a Frenchman, we set off. The dishes have their own signature and offer a nice change from other restaurants. The waiter told us that the chef attaches great importance to variety. With a starter, an incredibly delicious tuna ceviche, two main courses, a veal tail ragout and a monkfish cutlet, a dessert, two bottles of wine, as well as water, espresso and a digestif, we stayed under €200. Since the Stickel is a wine bar, I can only say that the wine list leaves nothing to be desired and can easily compete with many other highly decorated restaurants. The price was absolutely fine in our opinion. We would be happy to come back and recommend it to our friends.

Da das Stickel ja wie es selbst sagt eine Weinbar ist kann ich nur sagen das die Weinkarte keine Wünsche offen lässt und sie mit manch anderem hoch dekorierten Restaurant ohne Probleme mithalten kann . Es gibt für jeden was .. Beeindruckend für uns war die Auswahl aus Rheinhessen , Frankreich sowie Spanien .. Wir entschieden uns für offene Weine um mehr probieren zu können . Es waren weit über 20 offene im Angebot was wir so auch selten erlebt haben . Wir haben Butterweichen knusprigen Schweinebauch gegessen ( laut Karte 24 Stunden gegart als Vorspeise . Danach eine helle Kalbsbolognaise sowie ein Filet vom schwarzen Heilbutt .. Beides war von der Art der anrichte und den ganzen kleinen Details auf dem Teller optisch aber vor allem geschmacklich wunderbar . Wir hatten einen tollen Abend und haben uns sehr gefreut das Stickel durch Social Media entdeckt zu haben und können es nur empfehlen.

Zwei Jahre Stickel ,wie am ersten Tag… niemals enttäuscht worden ,auf in die Sommerzeit und die Außengastronomie genießen bei gutem Wein und gutem Essen !

Everything was great, food, service and good recommendations. 1-2 more wait staff would be nice, then every guest would have even more attention, the staff really had to rush around the whole time (probably a lack of staff here too). It was already very full on Friday evening. We have been there many times and will be back 👍

Essen ausgezeichnet, der Weißwein sehr sehr gut und insgesamt ein ganz hervorragendes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Toller Service. Bisschen viel nicht notwendiges Chi-Chi auf dem Teller, aber geschmacklich in jeder Hinsicht überzeugend. Braucht keine Angst vor den großen Namen in der Stadt haben.

Immer ein Besuch wert:vorzügliches Essen,sehr gute Weine(Getränkeangebot allgemein sehr gut),aufmerksamer Service,höflich und freundlich,alles in ungezwungener Atmosphäre und geschmackvollem Ambiente…

Very nice little restaurant with French. Kitchen. The food was very fine and excellent, as was the wine. Nice standard menu and changing weekly offerings. Service very friendly and attentive. I think the owner is standing behind the bar and speaks with a French accent. He held the door open for us as we went out. Next time I'd be happy to include photos. Recommended! 👍😋

We chose this restaurant for our wedding reception and are completely thrilled, a real stroke of luck in Cologne's restaurant jungle: the food is simply fantastic, the service is extremely attentive and personable and the ambience is so cozy and festive at the same time! We had the entire restaurant to ourselves, while every wish of us and our guests was fulfilled. And the price-performance ratio was absolutely right. We can therefore only recommend everyone to celebrate there or to spend a great culinary evening in everyday life. We are very happy that we were lucky enough to have celebrated at the Stickel. Very nice and cozy restaurant, with a varied and constantly changing menu. The products are of very high quality (I come from a background in fine dining myself) and you don't have to wait long for your food. It seems like people really know what it takes to run a restaurant. I always feel really, really comfortable and can therefore recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience. I wish the operators continued success!

There were eight of us there and everyone was thrilled with their food. Really a great kitchen. There was only one waitress in the store that evening, but that didn't affect the quality of the service. Really recommended all around!

Zusammen mit meinem Mann waren wir am Freitag Abend im Stickel . Durch eine Empfehlung wollten wir es mal ausprobieren und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Obwohl wir nicht reserviert hatten wurden wir trotz vollem Laden nach einem Glas Crémant an der Theke an einem tollen Tisch platziert. Wir wussten gar nicht welche der Speisen wir alle gerne bestellen und probieren sollten da einfach zu viel der Verlockung war . Wir entschieden uns für das Apéro Set und danach die Ochsenbacke und die Lachsforelle . Es war super lecker und an der Art der Dekoration der Teller merkte man sofort das die Küche weiß was sie tut . Die Saucen waren extrem lecker waren so wie man es in einem Restaurant erwartet . Da wir Weintrinker sind waren dir durch die Auswahl an Flaschen aber auch besonders durch die große Anzahl an offenen Weinen mehr als angetan . Die Stimmung im gesamten Laden war ausgelassen und wir haben uns wie auch augenscheinlich der Rest der Gäste mehr als wohl gefühlt . Der freundliche und gleichzeitig sehr zuvorkommende Service unterstrich unseren Eindruck . Vielen Dank für den tollen Abend .

Wie waren mal wieder zu zweit im Stickel . Wir mögen besonders die häufigen Wechsel der Speisekarte denn dann wird es nie langweilig . Das Essen übertraf mal wieder alle Erwartungen, mit einer wahrhaft leckeren Vielfalt an Gerichten, die durch kreative Kombinationen der Zutaten bestachen. Wir hatten als Vorspeise das Thunfischtatar danach den Butterzarten aber krossen Pulpo sowie die gebackene gelbe und rote Ringelbete welche wir in so einer Art der Anrichte und Zubereitung noch nie gesehen oder gegessen haben . Ein wahres Geschmackserlebnis. Das Ambiente verlieh dem Ganzen eine angenehm entspannte Atmosphäre, die den Genuss noch verstärkte. Der Service war ausgezeichnet, das Personal war aufmerksam und freundlich, ohne dabei aufdringlich zu sein. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, wiederzukommen, um noch mehr von der großartigen Küche zu erleben. Vielen Dank ans Stickel

Hervorragendes Essen, serviert von kompetenten, freundlichen Menschen. Im Sommer sitzt man schön draußen und trinkt dazu ein Hellers Kölsch.

Der sympathische Service ist sehr aufmerksam und hat uns einen schönen Abend beschert. Das Essen (Ochsenbäckchen, Seehecht, Creme Brulee, Schokosouffle mit Heidelbeersorbet) erfreut das Auge und noch mehr die Geschmackssinne; es war richtig lecker. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder hingehen!!!!

Die Ecklage an einer ruhigen Straße in Neuehrenfeld gefällt mir. Sehr schön im Sommer zum Sitzen. Service sehr gut und super freundlichen. Aufmerksames Personal und der Chef ist sehr den Gästen zugewandt. Essenauswahl klein, aber mit sehr guter Qualität. Weinauswahl gut 👍. Sancerre sehr lecker und in Summe gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Haben auch einen Grappa aufs Haus erhalten. Perfekt!

Einfach immer lecker & jedes mal gibt es etwas Neues zu entdecken. Sehr schöner Außenbereich und ein liebevoll eingerichteter Innenraum. Toller und aufmerksamer Service bei uns. Zappes gibt es sogar vom Fass. Macht euch einen schönen Abend!

Nettes Bistro, kleine Karte mit leckeren kleinen und großen Gerichten. Bei schönem Wetter sitzt man draußen an einer "vorwitzigen" Ecke.

One of the best restaurants in Cologne! Food is highest possible quality, service is excellent, price/quality ratio is great. I had octopus thete and it was so delicious, such fine taste. Beautiful place to have amazing meal. Strongly recommend!

Lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen! Mega lecker und alle total nett! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Leider kann ich mich den überwiegend sehr positiven Feedbacks nicht ganz anschliessen. Wir waren kürzlich zum ersten Mal im Stickel, auf Empfehlung. Als wir gegen 1845 Uhr unsere Bestellung aufgeben wollten, teilte man uns mit, das von den 3 Hauptgerichten der Tageskarte bereits 2 nicht mehr verfügbar waren. Von den 4 anderen Hauptspeisen der regulären Karte war ebenfalls 1 Gericht bereits aus. Also von 7 möglichen Hauptspeisen konnte man nur noch aus 4 wählen. Warum hat man dann die Gerichte auf der Karte (Papierausdruck im Klemmbrett) nicht durchgestrichen, oder das Blatt einfach entfernt? Der Servicemitarbeiter schickte dann den Koch zu uns, welcher uns lösungsorientiert und spontan Alternativen anbot, die nicht auf der Karte aufgeführt waren. Bei der Weinbestellung kam es zu einem Missverständis, der Wein der zur Probe offeriert wurde, war ein anderer als von uns bestellt. Als wir dann begeistert aber doch lieber bei dem probierten Wein bleiben wollten, sagte der Servicemitarbeiter, dies sei leider nicht möglich da der andere Wein bereits boniert sei im Kassensystem. Die Speisen an sich waren Durchschnitt, die Anrichtung hätte ansprechender sein können, und vorgewärmte Teller ohne Macken im Porzellan hätten wir bei dem Preisniveau ebenfalls erwartet. Der Service war sehr bemüht, freundlich und aufmerksam, wirkte unsicher bei Rückfragen. Die Küche scheint sehr (zu) ambitioniert, und ruft entsprechende Preise auf, die wir nach unserem Besuch, gemessen am 1.Gesamteindruck und für die gebotene Qualität als zu hoch empfanden. Unserer subjektiven Meinung nach ist hier noch Luft nach oben.

Waren heute zum ersten mal bei Euch, das Essen war einfach Phantastisch soooo lecker, Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich und der Service kann nicht besser sein. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Rund um einen schönen Abend dort verbracht. Das Ambiente sehr einladend und die Tische hübsch dekoriert. Essen war seeehr lecker (ich hatte den Oktopus und als Nachtisch das Schoksouffle mit Heidelbeersorbet) 😋 yammy! Der Service war sehr aufmerksam! 👌🏼👌🏼 Es gibt eine sehr große Auswahl an Weinen und auch verschiedene Aperol Spritz Sorte werden geboten! Einen Tisch reservieren ist von Vorteil!! Preislich... ja etwas teurer aber man soll sich ja auch mal gönnen 😊😘

Haben hier zu Abend gegessen. Bestellt haben wir Flammkuchen und Cesar Salate mit Hähnchenbrustfilet. Der Salat kam in einer sehr übersichtlichen Portion und hat nach nix geschmeckt. Das Hähnchenbrustfilet hingegen war völlig überwürzt. Der Flammkuchen war leider auch eher mittel. Wir kämen jetzt eher nur für ein Getränk wieder. Schade pomade.

Das Essen war klasse. Die Drinks auch. Nur die Bedienung hatte wenig Lust Bedienung zu sein. Mehr berechnet als getrunken, wir mussten jedes Mal ihn proaktiv darauf ansprechen, dass wir noch etwas bestellen wollen und abgeräumt wurde auch erst nach mehrmaligen vorbeilaufen. Schade.

Das Essen ist lecker und schön zubereitet. Die Bedienung ist nicht so professionell. Die Weingläser, ohne Eichstrich ,werden nach Augenmaß gefüllt und beinhalten nicht die Füllmenge, die für den stolzen Preis auf der Karte aufgeführt sind.Das Kölsch wird ebenfalls unter Eichstrich serviert. Chardonnay La Baume war am leckersten, nächstes mal probieren wir was anderes.. säurearm, weich, rund, aromatisch, danach vinho verde und grüner veltliner.. die hatten für mich bissl zu dominante Säure

Es war ein rundum gelungener Abend. Sehr ausgewogene Karte, welche nicht nur in der Größe der Portionen, sondern für Vegetarier, Fleischesser und Fischliebhaber eine gute Auswahl bietet. Die Getränke waren vom Aperetivo über den Wein bis zum Digestif samt Cocktails hervorragend. Das Krönchen setzte der sehr nette und aufmerksame Service diesem rundum gelungenen Abend auf.
