Steuerbord in Langeoog

I've been to the Starboard several times over the past few years... and I've never regretted it. Last week, we, a group of four adults and an 11-year-old, went to the Starboard twice. The food was really good, and the service was discreet, attentive, and relaxed. The atmosphere was just right. We say: THANK YOU for the wonderful time, and we'll definitely be back!! See you next time!

The Starboard has everything you need for a decent meal. First-class service (everyone is really in a good mood). Very, very good food. (Schnitzel really the way you like it, thin and a decent size, not too greasy). The ambiance is really cozy and nice. Simply amazing, the host is always friendly and attentive. Therefore, a real recommendation. It won't be the last time the Starboard has been THE place to go.

We were truly impressed by both the service and the food. Everything was at least warm to hot and tasted absolutely fantastic. The service also left little to be desired; the waitresses were attentive but not intrusive, and they were there whenever you needed them. All in all, it's highly recommended, even if you start to feel sorry for the waitresses while you're eating, as they zip up and down the stairs several times in a very short space of time.

Very friendly manager and staff, clean restrooms, fast service, excellent quality food, perfectly prepared redfish fillet in egg, delicious mashed potatoes as a side dish, crisp salads! Compared to other restaurants in the area, this is clearly number 1 for us! Thank you👍🏻

As in the past, we visited Starboard again during our vacation and were, as always, very impressed by the delicious food and friendly service. We were lucky to get a table without a reservation both times, as that's not always the case. Therefore, a reservation (if possible) is definitely recommended. We can only recommend the starboard.

The pizza was okay, but the other dishes and especially the fish were really good. Our waitress was very nice and had one or two casual sayings on her lips. We liked that. Sure, we're still on Langeoog, but the price-performance ratio scores for the restaurant.

We were there last night and had pizza, one Diablo and one with spinach. Very tasty and the food came quickly. The team is relaxed and friendly. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back.

Zufällig reingestolpert und einen Tisch unten bekommen. Oben gibt es auch noch jede Menge Tische. Probiert haben wir AndalöSpritz, geschmeckt hat's lecker. Feiner, leicht frischer Geschmack. Dazu gab's Pizza Tonno und als VersuchsHit: Pizza Grünkohl. Sehr witzig. Der Rand hätte etwas knurriger sein können, ansonsten eine tolle Idee. Service nett, Schwarzbier süffig.

A great restaurant, very tasty food, friendly staff and our dog is also welcome. We also went here for dinner this New Year's Eve. And I can only repeat myself. That was a very tasty New Year's Eve menu.

As newcomers to the island, we stopped here while taking a walk and tried this delicious homemade cake/sheet cake (super delicious 😋). The staff was very friendly and the space outside in the beach chair was comfortable. We can therefore only recommend the location. Team starboard “keep it up”!

The food has always been mediocre, as has the service. But yesterday the Eastern European waiter's behavior broke all negative records. Grumpily assigned a table and contemptuously throwing the menus on the table in front of us and completely ignoring our drink order. He left, and so did we, and will never go there again.

It's all ok. My Büsumer style plaice was quite large and very mildly seasoned; the boiled potatoes too. A little more “whistle” would be nice. From 7 p.m. everything upstairs was full, reservations are recommended. The innkeeper was very friendly, almost warm. The rest of the service was a bit taciturn, but very attentive.

absolutely substandard service. Wordless to unfriendly and poorly coordinated. The kitchen, on the other hand, does a good job.

Food top. Staff top. Prices are just as high as anywhere else on the island. Cola 0.4 for €6 and children's drinks 0.2 are not even filled to the mark, which indirectly makes a visit even more expensive. The evaluation takes place after several visits. Hence a BIG star deduction.

Hmm... Maybe the service was having a bad day? The cards were brought to our table in a very taciturn and spirited manner. Many words were not exchanged. We would definitely have gotten a second drink if we had followed the service. Please work on it. The rest was good!

Well, it's hard to get good staff these days. But you can cook well even with bad staff. Unfortunately, things are no longer like they used to be. When you are happy you can work better and your guests feel comfortable. No, starboard, that was nothing. 😒

Extraordinarily long waiting times. Some dishes are exquisite, others are more of a disappointment.

Tolles und leckeres Essen. Ich hatte da Duett von Lachs und Scholle an Kartoffelpüree. Brokkoli war so lala aber der Fisch war einfach top!! Frisch, geschmacklich sehr gut und auf den Punkt gegart. Dazu hatte ich zwei Schollenstücke und ein Lachs. Von der Menge also auch richtig gut. Wartezeiten waren so weit in Ordnung. Man kann im EG draußen sitzen oder im OG drinnen oder auf der Terrasse.

All in all, not as good as it used to be. The hunter's sauce for the cutlet was thin and very tasteless - and the mushrooms clearly came from a can. Unfortunately no longer recommended

The food was very tasty, it tasted really good. The service was very friendly, polite and helpful. Unfortunately it was incredibly hot in the restaurant and the seating/chairs are not that comfortable.

Wir waren mit 4 Erwachsenen und 2 Kindern hier. Fisch, Züricher Geschnetzeltesm mit selbst gemachtem Rösti. Fischstäbchen, Fisch und Pizza alles sehr gut.. Freundliche Bedienung, alles super.

We really enjoyed going to starboard for years. This year will probably be the last time. The pizza in particular has unfortunately really deteriorated in quality. At 16 euros you can actually expect more for a vegetarian pizza. As a restaurant with mediocre quality at best and these prices, charging a 1 euro service fee for changing a side dish or packing up the leftovers is somehow embarrassing.

Sehr leckere vielseitige Speisen. Auch Veganer werden hier fündig. Übrigens sind auch die Rösti vegan und können auf Nachfrage mit Gemüse kombiniert werden. Wie wäre es, dieses Gericht in die Speisekarte aufzunehmen? Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Price-performance as expected in the location... Unfortunately, the food was nothing special.

On previous vacations we have often eaten well on the starboard side, unfortunately this time we were not at all satisfied. The salad plate with chicken was a wild mess, with no structure, the Röstischler "North Sea" was burnt, the redfish had a strong fishy smell, the salmon was through Baking the souse, which actually tastes good, is naturally dry. I only ate a few bites, the waitress just nodded when I complained, that was all. Not even an apology, the waiter just grinned when paying. Well, it was different before, maybe it's because of the level of the staff, but we were definitely disappointed.

Friendly welcome, good location, fast and attentive service, the food was excellent and plentiful, the prices were right. We'd love to come back there. 5 stars in all points!

For years we have been eating regularly on holiday at "Starboard". It's always a pleasure to eat with you. The service staff always has a few personal words and a smile. The boss doesn't hesitate to clear and clean the tables. We're always happy to come back for the next visit.

A restaurant in the heart of Langeoog with really good service and good food. There are still waiters here who eat an order and take drinks for five people without making notes and put the food and drinks in the right places. Respect.! The ambience is a normal restaurant, nicely decorated, but it doesn't invite you to linger for an incredibly long time. Unfortunately, the price level is in the upper range

We were on the island for three days with four people and ate on the starboard side three times. The food was super tasty and the staff was very friendly. Starboard can only be recommended – simply great.

Great restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. The staff is top. 👍We recommend the potato rosti with fish and Djion mustard with hollondaise.

The crowning conclusion to a great day...was there this evening, from the greeting to the farewell from the staff and the boss himself. I ordered a pizza. This was the best in Langeoog so far. My colleague had a schnitzel. It was very tender and super tasty. Great location. Very nice staff. Top food. 5 stars more than deserved

40 years of vacationing on the island are probably an argument that our impression is not accidental. If Langeoog ever sinks, it won't just be due to sea level. Islanders and the entire industry suffer from greed and arrogant ignorance. The starboard is just an example of this. Since 2023, the quality of the food has declined. Restaurateurs certainly have problems finding staff. But somehow that's not all that's missing. The pizza as an example has a much worse dough and is more like a Dr. Oetker Pizza. And 14 euros for that. And if you don't finish your food and want to take the rest home with you, you also pay €1 for the box. The staff is also no longer struggling with motivation. Likewise, worn out chairs are not worthy of the prices. Unfortunately, I'm sure this problem is the same across the island.

Super fast service and delicious daily specials; The pizzas are also very good. Recommended!

Very nice and reasonably priced

We were probably deceived by the very good reviews or had expectations that were too high - the food was delicious, we charged 1 euro for parmesan with spaghetti and the service was subpar!!!! The waiters shuffle listlessly between the tables and there wasn't a single smile. Apparently you can afford that these days.

On Sunday lunchtime with a bright blue sky and full bars, driving away all the surrounding guests with a high-pressure cleaner is equal to "set 6". Outrageous!

Wir sind mehr oder weniger in dieses Restaurant "gestolpert", da unsere Restaurant-Favoriten geschlossen hatten. Und wir müssen sagen: wir sind begeistert gewesen! Gemütliche Atmosphäre, sympathische und aufmerksame Bedienung, sehr sehr gutes Essen (hatten zwei Vorspeisen und zwei Fischgerichte bestellt) zu fairen Preisen (fast zu günstig...). Alles frisch und reichhaltige Portionen! Das haben wir so nicht erwartet und auch lange in keinem Restaurant erlebt. Und im Hintergrund lief gute Musik! Ihr gehört definitiv nun auch zu unseren Favoriten. Erholt euch gut über den Winter und bis irgendwann =) PS: Wenn man vor dem Restaurant steht, erwartet man diese Qualität nicht. Da müsst ihr etwas aufbessern!

Der Rösti mit Geschnetzeltem war lecker,das schnitzel ging so....aber trotzdem ein schönes Abendessen.

Ein sehr leckeres Restaurant auf Langeoog. Es gibt viele leckere Standardgerichte zu für Inselverhältnisse normalen Preisen.

Dieses Restaurant war früher der Hit, aber jetzt ist es nicht mehr das gleiche, essen ist noch gut war aber mal besser! Der Service ist unsympathisch.die beiden netten sind weg, und die Ambieten waren auch nicht viel besser.

Als Stammgäste auf Langeoog kehren wir immer wieder gerne ins Restaurant Steuerbord ein. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Besonders zu empfehlen sind die Rösti- Kreationen. Für uns das beste Restaurant auf der Insel.

Eine gut bürgerliche Location, schnell gibt's das bestellte Essen, freundliche Bedienung die darauf bedacht ist, flotten Durchlauf der Gäste zu erreichen,. Leckere Salate und die Bedienung geht auf Sonderwünsche gern und zuverlässig ein. Ambiente EG und draußen easy, OG innen etwas altbacken.

Sehr aufmerksamer Service. Man kann sehr gut draußen sitzen, schöne Plätze an der Barkhausenstraße. Grandiose Pizza, kann die anderen Kommentare nicht verstehen. Geht eher Richtung amerikanische Pizza mit sehr fluffigem Boden, aber extrem lecker und sättigend!

Hier gehen wir schon seit Jahren essen. Die Lokalität ist sehr zu empfehlen, der Service, die sehr zuvorkommende und freundliche Bedienung, alles stimmt. Die Speisekarte ist sehr umfangreich, die Preise normal und die Gerichte sehr lecker!!

Super leckeres Essen! Die beiden weibl.Servicekräfte sind kompetent u. super-freundlich! Man fühlt sich stets willkommen, u. selbst bei voll besetztem Haus entsteht nie Hektik!

Essen lecker, Service nett, Preise vernünftig, Ambiente nett, würde wieder kommen

Das Essen war lecker, der Service präsent und die Karte vielseitig. Besonders gut kam bei den Kids die spezielle Kinderkarte mit dem kleinen Comic an. Die Portionsgröße war absolut angemessen und der Preis war für die Lage (Fußgängerzone in einem Touristenort ) auch in Ordnung.

Sorry, das Abendessen war nix. Innen ganz nett eingerichtet und die Kellner echt fix, Reservierung auch problemlos, aber die Pizzen waren wirklich übel. Ich weiss nicht, wo die guten Bewertungen da her kommen. Das war meiner Meinung nach nen günstiger, fertig gefrorener Pizzarohling mit Sauce, der dann nur noch nach Wunsch belegt wird. Die Sauce ist künstlich süß, der Teig halt so ein billiger Backpulverteig. Lasst die Seite auf der Karte doch einfach weg. Auch die Bruschetta vorab sind nie im Leben frisch, schmecken wie diese Tiefkühlbaguettes aus den Discounter.... War nach dem Essen echt gefrustet.

Solide Küche, netter Service. Wir waren zu viert essen - drei Essen tadellos. Pizza allerdings war nix. War auch ne blöde Idee, die dort zu bestellen… Fisch auf den Punkt und Portionen groß genug!

Tolles Restaurant, klasse Pizza 🍕 Die Pizza war reichlich belegt, der Teig war mitteldick und sehr schmackhaft.

Familienfreundliches Restaurant mit konstant guter Qualität gutbürgerlicher Speisen, Fischgerichten und großer Pizzenauswahl, die mit Mozarella belegt sind. Geschulter sehr aufmerksamer Service, der auch nach der Erstbestellung nachfragt. Eines der wenigen mittelpreisigen Lokale, die Tischreservierungen anbieten, die man in der Hauptsaison zu schätzen weiß. Weiter so!

Ein typischer Italiener!Sehr lecker!Auf der 1.Etage sitzt man sehr gut. Viel Platz, ruhig und romantisch!

Ich habe mir am Abend lieber eine Stulle geschmiert, als die Reste mitzunehmen. Das Essen war das einzige, was unseren Tages-Aufenthalt getrübt hat. Wir werden in Zukunft diesen Laden einfach meiden - ganz einfache Lösung :) Der Service war eigentlich ganz OK.

Tja, auch das "Steuerbord" leidet unter der Preisthematik der ganzen Insel. 0,4l Cola/Fanta/usw 5,60€... da schluckt auch der deutsche Mittelstand, ist glaube ich der Topscore diesen Sommer auf der Insel. Eigentlich ist das Essen dort echt OK, aber die Getränkepreise und das teilweise zerfledderte Mobiliar (schwarze Stühle total kaputt, die grünen OK) in Kombination mit dem recht kühlen Service versprühen irgendwie kein richtiges Wohlfühlambiente. Das war die letzten Jahre wirklich besser.

Auch wenn ich lieber Bismarckhering zum Labskaus bevorzuge, ist besonders das Labskaus hervorzuheben. Leider Mängel an der etwas in die Jahre gekommenen Einrichtung.

Pretty tasty! Food was served immensely fast. Staff was nice and quick to handle. Everything was perfect and I have nothing to complain about.

Sehr freundlich bedient worden und sehr lecker gegessen: Pizza Texas schmeckt wie von „Vier Fäuste für ein Hallejulia“ - die fettuccini mit Lachs: Lachs gut gewürzt und auf den Punkt gegart. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Familienfreundliches nettes Restaurant. Wir hatten Rösti mit Lachs und Rösti mit gebeiztem Lachs, außerdem Labskaus. Die Portionen waren groß und gut. Allerdings war die auch noch bestellte Enchillada nicht genießbar, weil viel zu scharf (stand auch nicht „scharf“ auf der Karte). Wir essen gerne scharf, aber hier war dem Koch wohl die Chillidose beim Würzen ausgerutscht. Auf dem Teller blieb ca 4/5tel übrig, als wir dies freundlichst anmerkten. Die Reaktion war enttäuschend: „Der Koch hat es wie immer gemacht“. Sonst nichts. Das finden wir echt schwach, zumal uns auch der volle Preis für die Enchillada berechnet wurde. Echt enttäuschend.

Freundliche Bedienung. Allerdings war die Scholle Müllerinnen Art unterirdisch. Ich habe den Fisch nur gegessen, damit er nicht umsonst gestorben ist.

Sind ohne Reservierung ins Steuerbord eingekehrt. Bruschetta und Pizzen waren absolut lecker. Ein gepflegtes gezapftes Bier dazu war einfach top. Bedienung war etwas Schroff, osteuropäisch halt. Aber absolute ok.
