Stelinger Wald, TSV Stelingen Klubhaus in Garbsen

Rice 'n' Roll is a really great spot in Garbsen for me when I'm in the mood for Asian food. They have a great mix of freshly prepared sushi, warm rice and noodle dishes, and Vietnamese specialties. The crunchy rolls and maki are especially delicious and beautifully presented. The place isn't huge, but the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.

It used to be my favorite kebab shop. Unfortunately, not anymore 😕 The delivery drivers don't talk to you, the soups are watery, the bread is hard. The kebabs are cold, barely any meat, and there's gristle in the meat. The portions have gotten significantly smaller. Never again, sadly.

The absolute best falafel you can get in Garbsen. They use fresh, homemade dough, no frozen stuff. I always get the falafel wrap and the small fries, and I have to say both portions are really substantial. The staff and the owner are always friendly and helpful.

I stayed at the Hotel-Restaurant Bullerdieck for four nights. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast room with its varied buffet. For me, as an early riser (5 a.m.), the breakfast hours on weekends (from 8 a.m.) were a bit late. The room was clean and quite large. However, it was rather dark overall, and the view of a kind of light well on the first floor and the surrounding walls wasn't very appealing. Basically, there was nothing lacking. Unfortunately, the positive impression from the lobby and breakfast room (very friendly, bright, and inviting) didn't continue on the first floor. Here, the hotel's age became apparent. Some of the illuminated room numbers in the hallway were broken, and one of the ceiling spotlights in my room was also out. This somewhat detracted from the hotel's four-star character. These aren't major issues, of course, but they do leave a lasting impression. The hotel is located in a small town, and Hanover and Garbsen are easily accessible. However, the convenient location doesn't make the location itself particularly attractive. Here you simply have to decide what's more important to you. In conclusion: I felt comfortable and can recommend the hotel. I think the price of €89 per night including breakfast is absolutely fair. Sauna access is even included.

The kebab is extremely thin, so I weighed it. It weighs 340g, which is a disgrace! Never again.
