As always, the staff was very friendly... delicious food with a beautiful view

The ambience is really nice but the service was catastrophic. We had to wait 20 minutes until our order was taken. We waited 30 minutes for food. The food is okay but way too expensive for the quality. For baked potatoes 19 euros! The coffee came quickly, but I had to wait 30 minutes for the apple cake, so I had already finished the coffee. It was the same at the next table. Some left because the order wasn't taken. And at one table people had to wait an hour for their food! It's a shame, it could really be better organized and for the money the food should have been freshly cooked.

Top location, great food, good and fast service

The service is sometimes subpar. We each had baked potatoes. Firstly, our food was forgotten, then the wrong side dish was brought (we had ordered WIENER schnitzel with it) and then the “sour cream sauce” was a herring salad. We had drawn attention to this. They said “this is the new sauce”, whereupon we explained that this had to be put on the menu. When we pointed it out again when paying, we were told that we had eaten it (friendly ladies at our table had eaten it for the sake of the environment) and that he couldn't do anything "otherwise he'd get in the face". No apologies and a fries in Kaiserschmarrn doesn't make it any better. I have to say very friendly service. Of course there were NO tips.

It's just beautifully located with a great view Unfortunately the coffee is not fresh from a coffee machine but definitely from a pump pot. You could also see the bottom of the cup so it tasted watery.

I had dinner there with my children. The surrounding area is of course a highlight The food was ok so far. Just quite expensive. My children were given memory and a coloring book to keep them busy until dinner was ready. We felt very comfortable and would come back again.

The ambience is unparalleled in Northern Germany. The surroundings have an Alpine flair. So you can only give 5 points for the latitude. The service was friendly, attentive and there were three of us. Can be considered good. The prices are at 3000 alpine level. Unfortunately the food is not that good. I was prepared for a small schnitzel for 23 euros, but the shaped meat that was delivered from the deep fryer disappointed me

Very nicely located restaurant/café in Bavarian style. Beautiful outdoor seating and a harmonious interior ambience. Fast friendly service. Sanitary facilities perfect. Nice view of Goslar. There is a great playground for smaller children in the immediate vicinity.

A very nice place with a magnificent view of Goslar. Very friendly and effective staff, no one waits long for their order, even though it was very busy. Unfortunately the prices are very high (0.5l table water €5, ice cream €7-11, sheet cake with cream €8.50), so I made do with drinks. Nevertheless, I felt very comfortable there and would come back again and again. There is also space for children to run around.

Went there today (Easter Sunday). However, we only had something to drink. The service was friendly and attentive. The drinks, a Hefeweizen and a large Alster, came quickly. The price is contemporary. We'd love to come back

Really nice, rustic furnishings. Great view. For dinner we had cheese spaetzle - these were not homemade and super dry and Kauserschmarn - also not outstanding. The prices are very high. All in all OK. Nice atmosphere and clean. But not a culinary highlight

Authentically rustic alpine pasture with very tasty goulash! This really is 10/10. Price-performance more than justified. Nice service. Recommended for a stop on the hiking route.

This was our second time there as the first visit was so good. It probably took 30-45 minutes before anyone even came to the table. Guests around us have already left because no one came to take the order. We googled the menu ourselves (so as not to wait any longer than we already did). The demand for fries instead of rice with the schnitzel was stated as “not possible on weekends due to the high number of guests”. OK. The table next door could still have fries with the schnitzel. The cheese spaetzle was great. Without this it would have been 1 star. My chicken bowl was beautifully prepared. Unfortunately, the chicken was fried almost transparent, tough, cold and impossible to chew. The “fresh country bread” was also very, very dry and hard. We paid €72 for 3 dishes, a small cola and a large cola. Absolutely not justified. There will definitely not be another visit.

I can recommend it to anyone who is reasonably good on foot. The food and drinks were priced OK. And the staff was great.

Very solid restaurant, the prices are a bit sporty but after a long hike you're happy to accept that. The ambience is really nice and the area where the alpine pasture is is also worth a visit.

The fries we ordered didn't arrive at all, the spoon that was supposed to be dipped in the sauce and delivered later was also forgotten and the ice cream was served on warm dishes and was therefore very soft. The staff is too few and is over the limit. The staff is very friendly and solution-oriented.

Today, we spontaneously got a table for 14 people. Excellent service, and the food was absolutely delicious. I can only recommend it. We'll be back.

We wanted to eat there and sit outside on 02/21/25 around 6:30 p.m. After we sat there for a while with nothing happening, I looked inside and saw someone wiping down the tables inside. The person saw me too and I thought that we were about to be served. But that didn't happen. After a while we got cold and wanted to go inside. We looked at the map outside again and the waitress saw us again. Instead of asking if he could help us, he kept swiping. We then decided not to eat or drink and drove to Goslar.

Unfortunately I can't rate any of the points correctly because it says on the internet that the shop is open all week, but there is a sign on site stating that Monday and Tuesday are closed Please URGENT! Revise opening hours on the internet

A real little alpine pasture without any witchcraft stuff. Very cozy and lovingly furnished. The sun terrace with a wide view creates a holiday atmosphere. All you have to do is think about the chimes and you feel like you're in South Tyrol. However, the prices for food are significantly higher. Maybe one reason why there were still free tables on a sunny Sunday. So you can also look at it positively...

Nice restaurant that can be reached via various hiking trails or directly from the parking lot. The atmosphere is rustic and reminiscent of a mountain pasture in the Alps. The food and drinks were great, but our service was unnecessarily hectic, which unfortunately spoiled the overall impression a bit. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely come by again. Everything around it is very good, nice service and coziness. We were here in winter. Personally, I think the food is a bit overpriced and unfortunately my bread wasn't fresh with the salad.

The Steinbergalm is recommended in every respect. The food, the service is very good. The hike to the alpine pasture is fun. Beforehand, take a "small" detour via the Steinberg tower, then the stop will be even more worthwhile.

Am Anfang hat es etwas gedauert, bis wir uns an den reservierten Tisch setzen konnten. Kellner waren offenbar im Stress. Dann wurden wir freundlich bedient. Das Essen war sehr lecker und ein kleiner Plausch mit der Kellnerin war auch noch drin.

If you go to Goslar, you should definitely plan the Alm. It is a quaint, rustic and cozy "hut" in a very beautiful location for a hearty rest. It is pleasant that you have to leave the car in a parking lot a little away. It is recommended that you travel from Goslar on foot - then you can also enjoy nature and the area. The Steinberg Alm is definitely an experience.

It just wasn't worth a star! The location and the ambience are really great and the potential is there but… We wanted to have a nice meal and were very disappointed. The quality and taste of the food was poor. The service comes after the meal with the salad and then charges incorrectly (too much). No excuse! It's crazy that something like that is still possible these days. We will never visit this location again under this operator.

The food ambience and service are great, only the waiting time for drinks is 45 minutes. And food 1.50 hours is not possible

As a "guest from the beginning" who knows the menu and therefore usually opts for the table dishes, I would like to make a critical comment on two topics that could be improved at New Year's Day lunchtime: 1) is written on the chalkboard - Goose 25.50 - Rabbit leg 17.50 Ordered hare leg. Two are delivered - amazed at the quantity! Thank God I'm looking at the bill. Instead of €17.50 it says €25.50. The gracious waiter and we are amazed. Price difference will be refunded. As we leave we hear a discussion about kitchen:waiters. Therefore, take another look at a blackboard. Now we notice the “hidden” 1 in front of the first letter and we also look at the card. This is the solution: there is a position on the map with 2 clubs for 25.50!!! Of course it's stupid for the waiter if the order is ordered according to the table and delivered according to the menu from the kitchen! 2) Added to this was the bad luck in terms of quality: The hare leg was dry, tough, tasteless and carelessly prepared. The sauce was an imposition: more porridge than sauce. Red cabbage was okay, the potato dumpling was best. Well - it can't always fit!! Nevertheless, an occasional look at advertising, quality and appearance is not fundamentally bad ;-)!!!

Unfortunately I can only give it two stars. The location is absolutely gorgeous. I found the atmosphere in the restaurant nice and rustic. In the Bavarian style, cozy. I found the service to be a disaster. When we came in we were ignored for several minutes, even though three different waiters passed us several times. When we were assigned a table and got there, we were hit on in the most impossible way by the waitress who was just cleaning the table. When we tried to appease us, we were treated even harsher. As a guest I didn't feel welcome at all. We then turned around and left. Too bad. Of course the store was full and the staff was very busy. But taking the stress out on the customer is a no-go for me. To me the situation appeared to be chaos, as if the service staff were not communicating with each other and were under enormous pressure.

I would sum it up like this: “Closed due to wealth”! The service and the way guests are treated here (!) is really underground! The food is also overpriced and of poor quality, not a good combination… that's a real shame because the location and furnishings are very nice… Overall, never again! Minus 5 stars would be appropriate for the service.

We had a family Christmas dinner at the restaurant today. Unfortunately the food was a disappointment. The food was served lukewarm. I ordered venison meatballs that tasted very artificial and not at all like game. I know homemade differently. The fries that came with it were too dark and too salty. The cheese spaetzle, at over €20 per dish, appeared as if it had been pre-cooked and then put in the microwave. There was a runny milky sauce at the bottom of the pan that didn't enhance the dish. The juice spritzers didn't contain enough juice for my taste. In my opinion, this is expensive fast food that fills you up but doesn't give you any pleasure. I will avoid this store in the future.

Unfortunately, the size of the menu and the quality of the food has decreased and the price has increased. A few years ago we were enthusiastic about the food (e.g. veal cheeks). The current schnitzel and sauce are unfortunately overpriced in terms of taste. The service is super fast and friendly. So does the food, which in turn can be related to the quality. I'd rather wait 15 minutes longer. ;) The view, the facilities and the ambience are great.

Service and ambience are very good. The prices have now reached a level that unfortunately no longer matches the food. Increase prices and services and the catering industry must and should definitely make money, but unfortunately there is a discrepancy here.

After we said that we didn't want to eat anything real, but “just” had drinks and pretzels, the waiter immediately became unfriendly. Our pretzel was then forgotten. After three quarters of an hour we pointed this out and she was then hastily fetched. The pretzel wasn't even warm when we got it and charging 70ct for a piece of butter is a disgrace. You could have gone to Aldi and had a better experience for 30ct instead of €5.20 for a pretzel. For the price you can at least expect a high quality pretzel and not a supermarket frozen pretzel. Otherwise, the ambience of the Alm is very nice, you can spend a lot of time there and it was also very nicely decorated.

The dishes we ordered were very good and the staff was friendly. It is important for me to be able to find out about allergens on the menu in advance. Unfortunately, this is no longer possible at many restaurants. There is a reference to addressing the employees and I doubt whether you can rely on the statements in stressful situations.

The Steinberg Alm is a very nice place to stay. Either to go out to eat or as a stopover on a long hike. It was really packed, but the service didn't suffer, so I got an extra star for that!! The food was very good and beautifully presented. Sure: the prices are high, but it fits the ambience and going out to eat has always been a small luxury that you can/should afford. In any case, the view from up there is very attractive. You can have a nice view of Goslar and the surrounding area. For me, the Steinberg Alm is always worth a trip.

Very nice atmosphere, stopped in after a hike in mixed weather and was amazed at how many people were there along the way. Ate goulash soup, highly recommended.

The location is nice, but the service and prices are absolutely outrageous! We wanted to drink a small non-alcoholic Alster, but were told that they only sell 0.5l. When we asked about an alternative, we were told to look at the menu and he'll come back later! So service is different, we got up and left I would go there again just because of the area, but the restaurant won't see us again!

The Champion Rahm Schnitzel was frozen and not tasty!

A really nice alpine hut. But it's no use if the service isn't right. I waited 45 minutes for a piece of cake, which didn't come even when I asked. The outside area wasn't even half occupied. It's a shame, maybe self-service would be an option.

Unfortunately, last Sunday we were welcomed by overwhelmed staff. We wanted to sit outside and asked if there was service there or if we should order inside. It seemed disorganized and my friend was pushed aside by the staff because she was in the way - completely unthinkable! We left without ordering anything. What a shame!

Never again, were here on Saturday, very busy, were not served because it was supposedly too full. There are other places

Great ambience inside and outside. The food was great and came very quickly. Unfortunately it was very crowded but the wait was worth it. We'd love to come back.

Catastrophe....I sat there for the umpteenth time...because I let myself be persuaded again. Order a hot latte... The cellar's response was pretty annoyed. I don't know if it's hot, I'll take it out the way it comes out of the machine. I got the answer to the request to make the glass hot. He doesn't have time for something like that, I would probably see that it would be full. .... Excuse me. I come from a service background myself and an answer like that is probably the last thing the customer wants to hear. I thankfully forewent the coffee and apparently he had no problem with it with a cheerful...OK...then not.... Miserable... rip-off, overwhelmed staff... bad food and way too expensive for such crappy service. But with the stupid tourists they can afford it. If there were zero stars I would choose them

Beautiful location with a great view, free parking, BUT 3 scoops of ice cream without everything for 9 euros is awesome. Even though the menu said cream and sauce were included. The coffee only came after the ice cream had already been eaten. I can't recommend it.

Kaiserschmarrn and warm apple cake, simply great. Plus a rustic atmosphere and super nice staff. Highly recommended. Be careful when accessing from above! The stone is not fixed. You can easily slip away.

Finished goods are offered here at overpriced prices. Given the prices, you can expect freshly prepared schnitzels. The service was also rather mediocre friendly. At least the view is good.

Extremely long waiting time. After waiting for over an hour for food, we left without eating. Very annoying. Such a long waiting time could have been communicated openly when ordering. Smoking also seems to be allowed at the table there. Some also have ashtrays on the tables. Had nicotine junkies at the next table the whole time. This is disgusting and out of date. Especially when visiting a restaurant with children. 0 stars.

Sind auf einer schönen Wanderung hier vorbeigekommen und haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen! Die Alm ist eine Mischung aus Restaurant und Alm und bietet neben klassischen Almgerichten auch gut bürgerliche Küche zu günstigen Preisen. Also ähnlich wie Goslar selbst. Wir kommen sicher wieder!

Kaisserschmarrn...? Zum großen Glück, da nicht viel Appetit, haben wir uns eine kleine Portion des sogenannten "Original hausgemachten Kaiserschmarrn" zum stolzen Preis von 14€ geteilt und waren mehr als enttäuscht. Der ist sicher nicht hausgemacht, sondern ein Fertigprodukt gewesen. Schmeckte nach nichts, im Mund ein wenig zu kleisterig und die Stücke zu dick. Wenn, wie auf deren Homepage steht, man bei einem Urlaub vom Flair und Ambiente der österreichischen Almen verzaubert wurde, danach diese Alm nach Überwindung vielen Hürden im Harz eröffnete, hat man leider das besondere Geschmackserlebnis der österreichschen Almen vergessen. So schade. Wir waren erst vor ein paar Wochen in Österreich und Südtirol und haben auf den Almen sehr lecker geschlemmt.

An impressive alpine pasture. It's hard to imagine that such a beautiful alpine pasture can be found in northern Germany. The ambience was very good and ☺️ and the wood stove was burning when we ate. There is its own brand of beer 🍺. Very nice and if we are nearby we would like to come back. Keep it up! 😉

Great, we came in there completely wet and dirty after the mountain bike tour, warmed up and had a nice meal. Nice employees. Food very good, price on the upper level but everything ok.

Unfortunately the food wasn't really good. It came quickly. "Schnitzel Förster" came with good fries, unfortunately really bad and dry meat. All in all, unfortunately quite tasteless for such a high price. Even the really great view didn't make up for the disappointment

Price performance no longer fits at all! Cheese spaetzle was ordered, which came with spaetzle baked in a cream sauce with a little cheese. The Jägerschnitzel was also served with a ready-made sauce…

So as I said, the catering was very nice, I can only recommend it, but the service was very haphazard and crazy.

Mußte leider feststellen das daß Personal sehr überfordert war.Wir saßen lange draußen.Nach frage ob man auch drinnen sitzen kann würde das verneint.Es war aber noch Recht viel Platz.Nach langen warten haben wir unsere Getränke bekommen .Nach langen warten und mehrfacher Frage das wir gerne zahlen möchten zeit ca 20 Minuten kam dann doch wer .Also wie gesagt die Gastronomie war sehr schön kann man nur empfehlen aber der Service naja sehr planlos und durch den Wind .

The Steinberg Alm is in an idyllic location and has something for everyone. Food was good so far. I had Kaiserschmarrn with vanilla sauce, which was a bit lumpy but otherwise good and nicely prepared. The wheat was nice and cold. The service is friendly but disorganized, there needs to be some structure.

Nice atmosphere, but that's about it. If you have to wait 45 minutes for 2 "cold" dishes in a half-full restaurant... Then the pricing for some dishes is more than cheeky and borders on rip-off. The portion of the “Bavarian Sausage Salad” is smaller than a children’s plate and at €14.5 is not justified! The proportion of cucumber and onion is also larger than the sausage it contains. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture... It was definitely the first and last visit here.

We always enjoyed being on the Alpine pasture and were always able to combine the trip with a long walk to gain strength. Yes, everything will be more expensive I now accept it as “normal” and I can live with that as long as the quality doesn’t suffer. That was Unfortunately this was the case during the last two visits, which is a shame. Unfortunately, the service was no longer convincing. Nevertheless, continued success and all the best.

Wonderful location with a beautiful view of Goslar and the mountains (we had sunshine). The service was friendly, quick and took time for the guests. The food (roast rabbit, wild goulash soup) was very good and reasonably priced. The short walk from the signposted car park to the Alm is a joy. Anyone who complains about prices here: it's freshly prepared, meat from our own hunt, the transport to the mountain pasture is difficult. This is all worth more than frozen goods from the discounter at home. Thanks to the whole team, we'll be happy to come back.
