Steig-Alm Hotel & Restaurant in Bad Marienberg (Westerwald)

Wir wurden bereits bei unserer Ankunft sehr herzlich empfangen und haben uns vom ersten Moment an willkommen gefühlt. Für unseren Aufenthalt anlässlich unseres 17. Hochzeitstages hatten wir das Hochzeitszimmer gebucht. Das Zimmer war wunderschön, sehr sauber, gepflegt und ließ keinerlei Wünsche offen. Auch der Wellness- und Saunabereich hat uns begeistert. Er ist zwar eher klein, aber genau das macht ihn gemütlich. Alles war makellos sauber und hervorragend gepflegt – hier wird wirklich auf jedes Detail geachtet. Das gesamte Team war während unseres Aufenthalts außergewöhnlich freundlich, aufmerksam und herzlich. Man merkt, dass Gastfreundschaft hier großgeschrieben wird. Das Frühstücksbuffet war reichhaltig und völlig ausreichend, mit einer guten Auswahl für einen gelungenen Start in den Tag. Ein besonderes Highlight war unser Abendessen im Restaurant an unserem Hochzeitstag. Zur Begrüßung wurden wir sogar mit einem Glas Sekt überrascht – eine sehr schöne und aufmerksame Geste. Meine Frau hatte das Gulasch, ich ein Schnitzel mit Röstzwiebeln und Bratkartoffeln. Beide Gerichte waren hervorragend zubereitet, geschmacklich ausgezeichnet und die Portionen mehr als ausreichend. Auch die Umgebung des Hotels ist absolut empfehlenswert. Direkt in der Nähe gibt es viele schöne Freizeitmöglichkeiten, darunter einen Tierpark und einen Kletterpark. Außerdem kann man wunderbar spazieren gehen – sei es tagsüber oder nach dem Abendessen bei einem gemütlichen Verdauungsspaziergang. Wir sind beispielsweise zu Fuß nach Bad Marienberg gelaufen, haben dort den schönen Kurpark besucht und uns ein leckeres Eis gegönnt. Die Wege sind angenehm kurz und dennoch landschaftlich sehr reizvoll. Wir sind schon viel unterwegs gewesen und haben viele Hotels kennengelernt. Umso mehr können wir sagen, dass es hier wirklich nichts zu beanstanden gibt. Alles war rundum stimmig – von der Sauberkeit über das Essen bis hin zur außergewöhnlichen Freundlichkeit des gesamten Teams. Vielen Dank für dieses wunderschöne Wochenende. Wir kommen ganz sicher wieder!

Ich war für eine Tagung in der Steig-Alm und rundum begeistert. Der Tagungsraum war modern, gut ausgestattet und klimatisiert. Besonders die Kombination aus professionellen Rahmenbedingungen und der schönen Lage direkt am Kletterwald für das Teamevent machen den Standort besonders attraktiv. Die Verpflegung war hervorragend, das Personal stets freundlich und aufmerksam. So macht Tagen Spaß – ich habe mich sehr wohlgefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.

Sowohl das Hotel als auch das Restaurant bieten eine mega Erfahrung, es gibt viel gute Laune, Bier und ordentliche Portionen. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön, sauber und Staubfrei. Es fehlt nur noch an einer Klimaanlage im Zimmer, dann wären es 5/5 anstelle von 4,5/5 Sternen. Das gesamte Personal war sehr authentisch und zuvorkommend. Ich kann das gesamte Gebiet nur empfehlen, die Wanderwege sind schön und mit viel Schatten verbunden.

Ich war für eine Woche im Steig-Alm Hotel. Das Zimmer war sehr schön und jedes Zimmer hat einen Balkon, auf dem man morgens und abends wunderbar sitzen und die Aussicht genießen kann. Die Mitarbeiterinnen waren auch alle super nett und freundlich. Auch das dazugehörige Restaurant mit Biergarten kann ich nur wärmsten weiterempfehlen! Leckeres Essen und freundliche Bedienungen. Als Hotelgast bekommt man auch immer einen Platz und kann auf Wunsch auch Getränke noch mit aufs Zimmer nehmen. Auch die Gegend ist sehr schön zum wandern und erholen. Ich hatte einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt hier und komme gerne nochmal wieder! Vielen Dank für die gute Beherbergung!

Als 2 Wanderer auf dem E1 haben wir gestern in der Steig Alm übernachtet. Zimmer modern und gemütlich eingerichtet, sehr sauber. Das Essen und der Service sind sehr gut. Die Bedienung ist äußerst freundlich. Besonders hervorzuheben : Die Kochkünste des Küchenchefs Fabian in der Fleischzubereitung und die nette Bedienung durch Abi. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. PS: Das 800 g Schweinekotelett ist der absolute Hammer!

Wir haben die goldene Hochzeit meiner Schwiegereltern während des Urlaubes vor Ort gefeiert. Das großartige Team hatte alles hübsch hergerichtet und ist auf unsere Wünsche eingegangen. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt: die Zimmer waren wunderbar und gemütlich, das Essen war mega lecker und der Service ( gerade auch beim Frühstück) war einfach grandios. Wir werden das Hotel auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen und werden garantiert wiederkommen . Vielen Dank für Alles🥰

Wir waren mit der Familie ein langes Wochenende im Steig-Alm Resort und waren sehr begeistert. Die Zimmer sind sehr gepflegt und super ausgestattet, das Frühstück sehr lecker und auch im Restaurant haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Essen war auch hier perfekt und die Belegschaft im Hotel und Restaurant unfassbar sympathisch und offen für Sonderwünsche. Wildpark, Kletterwald, Basaltsee und Waldkirche sind fußläufig gut zu erreichen. Ein schöner Ort um Spaß zu haben und Seele baumeln lassen. Wir sagen Danke für alles und kommen gerne wieder.

Dieses wunderschöne Hotel verdient 5 Sterne! Ich war mit meinem Freund zum Valentinstag mit Übernachtung dort. Beim einchecken begrüßte uns die freundliche Dame am Empfang sehr herzlich und das Ambiente am Eingang und in den Zimmern erinnert an eine luxuriöse Alm! Die Zimmer bieten genügend Platz und den Alpenstil fanden wir großartig👍 Witzig fanden wir auch das Fenster mit Holzladen zum Bad hin, sodass es heller wirkte. Der Saunabereich ist ebenso geschmackvoll eingerichtet und mit der Zirben Lounge sehr erholsam! Das Abendessen fand in der Steig Alm, mit wunderschön eingedeckten Tischen, statt. Das Personal war zuvorkommend, sehr freundlich und das Essen war hervorragend👌🏻 Nicht zu vergessen, das reichhaltige Frühstück, welches genügend Auswahl bereit hielt. Wir haben uns rundum sehr wohl gefühlt und gleich einen Aufenthalt für Silvester gebucht. Dank an das komplette Team und macht weiter so!!!

Das Steig Alm Hotel in Bad Marienberg ist ein Ort, den wir nur mit 5 Sternen bewerten können, und das aus gutem Grund. Schon bei unserer Ankunft an der Rezeption wurden wir herzlich empfangen, was uns sofort ein Gefühl von Zuhause vermittelte. Die Atmosphäre war warm und einladend, und das Personal strahlte Freundlichkeit und Professionalität aus. Unser Zimmer war nicht nur sauber, sondern auch geräumig und gemütlich eingerichtet. Die sorgfältige Gestaltung und die liebevollen Details trugen dazu bei, dass wir uns sofort wohlfühlten. Es war der perfekte Rückzugsort nach einem erlebnisreichen Tag in der Umgebung. Der Frühstücksraum war geschmackvoll eingerichtet und lud zum Verweilen ein. Das Frühstück selbst war ein wahrer Genuss – es gab alles, was man braucht, um gut in den Tag zu starten. Von frischen Brötchen über köstliche Marmeladen bis hin zu einer Auswahl an herzhaften Speisen war alles vorhanden. Auch hier war das Personal äußerst zuvorkommend und sorgte dafür, dass es uns an nichts fehlte. Ein besonderes Lob möchten wir den Reinigungsdamen aussprechen, die stets freundlich waren und ihre Arbeit mit großer Sorgfalt erledigten. Es war offensichtlich, dass sie viel Wert auf Sauberkeit und Hygiene legten, was unsere Erholung zusätzlich förderte. Insgesamt haben wir unsere Tage im Steig Alm Hotel sehr genossen und kommen gerne wieder. Ein herzliches Dankeschön für die erholsame Zeit, die wir hier verbringen durften. We held our Christmas party exclusively at the Steigalm this year. The entire event, from planning to execution, ran flawlessly. Upon our guests' arrival, the rooms were ready and check-in was prepared. The service throughout the evening was consistently friendly, efficient, and of high quality. The timing and quality of the food were excellent and perfectly coordinated. All our requests were accommodated, and the evening was a complete success. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the entire team. We look forward to working with them again and can confidently award five stars in all categories.

The food (venison goulash, mushroom schnitzel, and duck) was first-class. It was delicious, and the portion size was perfect for hearty eaters. Attentive service, a pleasant atmosphere, and a convenient location with parking right across the street make it a must-visit for delicious food and friendly service.

Unfortunately, we weren't entirely satisfied. Upon arrival, we weren't greeted at all, leaving us standing around somewhat helplessly. Then we were told we were too early. We had hoped to enjoy some waffles, but that wasn't possible. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and we had expected more friendliness and flexibility.

Good, traditional German cuisine. We had roulades with Spätzle and a delicious salad. A baked potato with salad. Everything was very tasty. The service was very attentive and friendly. Highly recommended for a quick lunch break.

Unfortunately, my visit to the restaurant was very disappointing. The food was awful – the schnitzel was tough and completely tasteless, like chewing on a piece of wood. No seasoning, nothing! NADA. The location is okay. The view is okay too.

The food and the service was very good, I can only recommend it and would eat there again and again. Unfortunately, I can't say anything about the rooms because I didn't have a room.

We were only there for lunch. Everything was fine. Most of the waiters were very friendly, and we enjoyed our meal. The food is decent, although the prices are quite high. However, you don't really feel welcome when you ask for a table (without a reservation) and the lady at the entrance rolls her eyes and seems annoyed. If it weren't for hungry children, we probably would have left.

The schnitzel was average, edible, but nothing special. It was a decent portion with fries and a side salad. The cheese spaetzle was the size of a child's portion and also nothing special. The service was abysmal, with a disinterested and unfriendly waitress. The interior is quite nice. We won't be going back, which is a shame.

We spent two nights here with several guests in different rooms for a celebration. Every wish was truly fulfilled and our needs were met. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The rooms are spacious, modern, and very clean. We highly recommend the Steigalm Hotel and would be happy to return.

A beautiful hotel in a quiet location with very new rooms. The restaurant right next door is unbeatable. Excellent value for money and atmosphere. You feel like you're in Bavaria, in a mountain hut. Fantastic!

We went to a restaurant with friends yesterday. We've never experienced such poor service. Despite having a reservation, we had to search for a suitable table. We weren't escorted to our table, but were told the table would be cleaned immediately. Far from it. Only after we pointed this out did an unfriendly waitress wipe the table with a dry cloth, which was extremely unhygienic. Drinks and food were served, and we had to pick them up ourselves. Plates were cleared away even though not everyone at the table had finished eating. The food itself was, unfortunately, just below average; the schnitzel and rump steak didn't justify the price.

Highly recommended. The food came quickly. Very tasty. The price/performance ratio was exceptionally good. Highly recommended.

Restaurant/café at the wildlife park. The food and service are excellent. Suitable for groups, cozy, clean, and absolutely reasonable value for money. There's a large playground and climbing park next door, and plenty of parking. You can easily spend an entire afternoon here.

We celebrated our wedding at the Steigalm. The team spoiled us and our guests so much. It was a wonderful day with great food, outstanding service, and a complete, carefree package, so we enjoyed every minute to the fullest. The children were happy with their breaks at the forest playground and the zoo. Friends and family had time to relax in the beautifully decorated beer garden. After the celebration, the guests could simply fall into bed next door in the beautiful resort, and we even had a wonderful morning together at breakfast. A big thank you to the team. You're fantastic!

On August 23, 2025, we had our class reunion there again. The food was excellent, and the service was friendly and prompt (despite the packed house). The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I can recommend this place to everyone without exception.

The food was great. "Laura" served us wonderfully. We were there with the association, and I've already shared the location with my colleagues. I'll definitely be back.

We were there with a small group of eight people. Besides the good food and the wide selection of drinks, I especially remember the staff. It won't be the last time we/I were here.

Unfortunately, I can only comment on the restaurant, as we only sat in the beer garden for lunch. 🤷 There was a small Sunday menu, the beer garden was busy, and the staff was friendly. The food arrived relatively quickly, and we enjoyed it. One server seemed to be still in training; she was only allowed to bring food and drinks and clear away. Therefore, it was a bit time-consuming to place new drink orders and pay later. But all in all, it's definitely worth a visit!

We visited the restaurant for lunch on a Sunday. The staff was very friendly, the food came quickly, and it was delicious.

We were invited there for dinner. I had roast beef with onions, cold fried potatoes, a gravy mash, and onions that were like straw. My husband's schnitzel was okay, but the fries were way too salty. No apology, they charged the full price.

A very beautiful, quiet Alpine-style hotel. The rooms are very spacious, and the bathrooms are modern and equally generously sized. From the balcony, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Westerwald mountains. The breakfast buffet is extensive. Rolls, croissants, bread, cold cuts, cheese, a selection of jams, eggs... the day can begin. In the adjoining restaurant, you can enjoy delicious waffles in the afternoon and feast in the evening. For us, it was an all-round successful short break. Thanks to Ms. Kreckel and the team at the Steig Alm Hotel. For children of all ages, a visit to the wildlife park, which begins on the opposite side of the hotel, is worthwhile.

We had a very, very delicious meal here and received excellent service from Laura. She was very accommodating to my wife's intolerances. She does a fantastic job. The roast beef with onions was a dream. Thank you so much for everything. We'll be back, even if we have to drive a bit.

A catastrophe. One star is too many here. We had booked a lovely table to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary. The lovely table was in a shabby conservatory next to a counter made of crates. Well, we thought, maybe the food would make up for it. But unfortunately, wishful thinking was the father of thought. A grill platter for two people that we ordered turned out to be overcooked and inedible meat. After we finally found a waiter, we were offered a new meal after a while. The apology was that there was a large group inside. Sorry, is that why they serve a meal like that? We were fed up and just wanted to leave. As an apology, I had to pay in full for the inedible meal. This is what catering looks like today. Sad. We will neither recommend this place nor will we ever set foot in it again.

Overall, everything seemed very professional. From the restaurant's great ambiance to the prompt and friendly service. The only criticism is that the schnitzel was unfortunately tough.

The rooms were quite good in terms of size and condition. There was also a sauna, which was equally good. The gym there is small but nice. We had problems with the reception because a voucher was initially not accepted, and we almost had to pay twice. Additionally, despite breakfast, we were charged for coffee, which, according to another employee, shouldn't have happened. We made no secret of this and considered the money we paid to the accommodation as a tip. The surrounding area is beautiful for exploring nature.

das restaurant ist optisch sehr schön gemacht. hier fühlten wir uns sofort wilkommen. das personal ist überdurchschnittlich motiviert, freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. ich habe nur drei von fünf sternen vergeben. der grund hierin liegt leider daran, das die speisen (wir hatten spaghetti mit olivenoil und mehrere westerwälder champignonrahmschnitzel mit pommes frites) welche alle leider mit viel zu viel pannade umgeben waren. des weiteren war das gesamte geschmackserlebnis leider nur neutral und geschmacklos. unter anderem hätten wir uns auf dem teller eine winzige salatgarnitur oder etwas gemüse vorgestellt. schnitzel, sauce und pommes das sah einfach lieblos aus. wir können das essen nicht weiterempfehlen. schade für eine optisch so schöne location.

Rating restaurant We had a wonderful day in the Steigalm for our son's communion. The lunch (Sunday menu) was excellent. The portions are very large and very attractively prepared. The game goulash in particular was extremely good. In the afternoon we were able to eat the cake we had brought with us there. Absolutely great service. We pay a plate fee and get coffee in pots. The staff was incredibly attentive and checked several times to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. The cake was cut for us and everything was re-set. Special thanks to Ms. Krekel for the great organization and the service staff on site, which gave us a wonderful day. Absolute recommendation!

Cozy and friendly waitresses. Food partly good. Unfortunately sauces come from the package. Were there for dinner on Easter Sunday. On days like this, I realize that the food has to be prepared. But the guests still pay money for it. Some of the food was lukewarm (potato gratin, vegetables), but the highlight was the dessert. A strawberry salad with vanilla ice cream for 9 euros consisting of: 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream from the pack and 2 quartered strawberries. I found that really disappointing.

We had a birthday party here with 50 people. The location was well prepared, the DJ Steffen was in a class of his own (sings wonderful songs himself) and the food (buffet with grill) was excellent. The team from the hotel to the service staff at the celebration were very friendly and attentive. Last but not least, our special thanks go to Ms. Kreckel for the great organization. If you want to celebrate well, you should book here. We'll be back!!

One of the best hotels I have visited in this category! Much more on offer than usual. The Steigalm offers well-kept rooms, an excellent breakfast and great service. Friendliness everywhere - like arriving at home. Perfectly located for hikes and with wonderful views. After a day of business it feels like a vacation.

Always worth a visit for both business and private purposes. The hotel: Always a very friendly welcome from Dana and her colleagues. The room simply has to be experienced to be believed. Cleanliness 100 points! To the restaurant: Always worth a visit. From events to conferences, everything is possible here. Food is good, but sometimes there is too much to drink... Negative events at the Steig-Alm? What is the final round? Why can't I be there more often...

I can only recommend the Steigalm to everyone. The ambience is impressive. The restaurant offers something for everyone, at good prices. The rooms of the hotel are very nicely decorated. Modern and in the style of an alpine pasture.

Great food, rump steak highly recommended. Every cooking level is perfect. Service is super nice, relaxed and serious. Prices are very, very cheap compared to the quality. Load class.

I was only here to eat so I can't comment on the rooms. I found the food and service very good and the location is unbeatable.

Unfortunately, schnitzel is not the real deal. We had 3 in our group. All were tough and not really chewy. The best schnitzels are made from pork salmon. The sauce wasn't something that would blow you away either. Very unfortunate

Unfortunately, cartilage tends to be in the schnitzel, and this can happen if you ask. This cannot and must not happen to people in the schnitzel. Then it wasn't a schnitzel.

Review only for the restaurant! Went there for dinner at 2 p.m. after a walk! Vespers normally start at 2 p.m., but the nice waiter let us order from the menu! The chicken was very tasty and the fries were also extremely crispy!!!!! Only the schnitzel with mushrooms wasn't that tasty! Meat tasted a bit sour, but we'll come back anyway because that was definitely the exception! Ambience very nice and cozy! Enough parking spaces!

A lovely, small hotel with great rooms. It's very quiet. The hotel restaurant is rustic and serves good, home-style cooking. The sauna area is small but very nice and quiet. Excellent service and staff! Excellent value for money. We'd be happy to come back.

Simply great... from the very friendly service at reception to the evening entertainment. Very good food and, unfortunately, too much to drink :)... I'd be happy to come back... see you soon...
