Steakhouse WOODS in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

The schnitzel and steak were absolutely delicious. There's plenty of seating inside, but on the balcony, 40 to 50 members who had just finished a golf tournament gathered for the awards ceremony, eating and drinking. The staff are very friendly, and they remember your face and name the first time you visit, and sometimes even call you by name the second time.

Mixed feelings. As we've done many times before, we were nearby for a short vacation and made a reservation at Woods Steakhouse for my partner's birthday (it was a Tuesday). Everything went great until the first drink (a bottle of water). However, the service then deteriorated considerably, even though the table occupancy was manageable. Fortunately, the food arrived still warm, so we were able to fully enjoy the wonderful meal. We weren't asked if we wanted anything else to drink or if everything was okay. Both tables (left and right of us), each with several people, were served regularly. When we thought we were finally going to be asked for more drinks or dessert, the salt and pepper shakers were simply taken from the table because they were needed elsewhere. We still couldn't place our orders. The restaurant became increasingly empty, and yet we felt invisible the entire time. After 50 minutes of unsuccessfully placing our orders, we asked for the bill. The overall experience and ambience suffered greatly due to the service and is the reason why we would not come back despite the wonderful food.

We had a wonderful experience at Steakhouse Woods in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The food was excellent, but what made it truly special was the service. Nico was extremely attentive, friendly, and energetic throughout our visit. He made sure we felt comfortable and well taken care of at all times. The mixed grill is absolutely excellent. But the ribs are delicious!! Not to mention the baked potatoes with bacon and onion. The service was very slow due to the busy restaurant, but it was worth it because everything we ate was delicious! Plus, to make up for the wait, the waiter offered us two liqueurs! We'll definitely be back, thank you.

Nico, our waiter, not only provided first-class service, but with his humor and relaxed manner, he also fit in perfectly with our group of five guys. A culinary highlight: juicy Tomahawk steaks, crispy Wiener schnitzel, and buttery beef ribs, all prepared to perfection. The quality and taste were absolutely top-notch! The restaurant itself is beautifully situated and is part of the golf club. But don't worry: the atmosphere is relaxed and casual, with no strict dress code; just enjoy and feel at home. Just what you need after a day on the Zugspitze. We'll definitely be back! Highly recommended!

Our evening at the steakhouse was a complete success. Upon arrival, we were immediately offered a comfortable, better-looking table outside – truly friendly service that made the evening special from the very beginning. The entrecôte and ribeye were perfectly prepared, tender, and flavorful. To finish off, the kids enjoyed a warm lava cake, and we had delicious ice cream – both highly recommended. The service was always super attentive and friendly. We'd love to come back!

The steak and other dishes are all really well prepared. Really good portion but you could still finish them all 😋. Juicy steak, delicious salat and really good creme brûlée. Wonderful terrace, spacious and well decorated. Worth to come !!!

Very good food, the staff is excellent. Prices are reasonable, and you won't be disappointed by the quality. Unfortunately, the restaurant is always very loud, so in my opinion, it's not an upscale venue. The noise level is similar to that of a beer tent.

We spontaneously went to Woods Steakhouse yesterday, and what can I say? We've rarely experienced such a perfect evening - everything was simply wonderful! A table on the terrace overlooking the golf course and the Zugspitze - and we didn't have a reservation. A warm welcome from Luisa, who not only made us feel welcome, but also lovingly looked after us the entire evening. Without being intrusive or fake. Simply through her radiant personality and warm, helpful manner. The food - wow. Perfect. Excellent. Wonderful. Well-rounded flavor. Cooked as requested. Seasoned to perfection. Beautifully presented. Really, really good. Absolutely top-notch value for money. The only downside: it was our last evening of the vacation :-(, and I can't eat at Luisa's at Woods every Friday :-(. But if we're in the area again, we'll come back. 6 stars for everything, for a wonderfully delicious and pleasant evening. More restaurant visits should be like this :-).

Still thinking about the Bavarian filet I had here three days ago. Some of the best steak I’ve ever eaten (and I’m from Texas). Nico, our server, went above and beyond, bringing us blankets to stay warm outside. Hope to come back again one day!

We tried the steak and the burger, it was really delicious, and they have a sweet dessert called Kaiserschmarrn, which is similar to pancakes and is worth trying.

Today's lunch was T-bone steak and steak soup. It was delicious and wonderful. The place is clean, and the service is excellent. I would like to thank the employee, Helena, for her attentiveness, care, and politeness. The meal was wonderful and delicious. Thank you to all the staff.

‘Helena’ was so friendly with the kids, giving them activity magazine with little toys & even remembering their names while taking the order. The food was excellent (we ordered burger/ fish/ steak) & very reasonably priced. The view & green meadows of the golf course & the surrounding trees was another bonus.

The location with its mountain views is sensational. The food was incredibly delicious and more than adequate for the price/quality. High praise goes to the kitchen and also to the super relaxed and friendly staff. I'll be back again if I have the chance.

We went on a Sunday afternoon; there was almost no one there. The restaurant was quiet with a pleasant atmosphere, and the service was fast. Food-wise, we ordered the ribeye and the ribs with Augustine sauce, and both dishes were excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We were here yesterday for a Tomahawk steak. A challenge even for two. Very nice atmosphere amidst all the trees. Service was very friendly, the meat was medium-rare as requested and of very good quality. The steak fries were excellent, and the corn on the cob was also nothing to complain about. Our meat was cooked in clarified butter instead of sunflower oil, which isn't done everywhere. This certainly won't be our last time at The Woods.

We ended up here by chance. We were very impressed by the selection, the quality of the food, and the service, and we ate here several times. If we're in the area again, we'd love to come back. Many thanks to the entire Woods team!

Very good location, from Zuk Spitz. Quiet, peaceful place with a beautiful view and good atmosphere. The service staff speaks English, is polite and pleasant. As for food, we really liked the steak with garlic and jam and the Wiener schnitzel with chips. The only thing we didn't like was that the potatoes were a little overcooked. There is parking.

Good shop atmosphere Because the surrounding area is a golf course. Whatever you look at is comfortable. The food taste is normal. It's not anything special. But I like the shop because the employees are cute. And the store looked clean. But it's still a shop that you should try at least once.

We had dinner here during our holiday in Germany passing through Burgrain on our way to Füssen. I had the surf and turf and my boyfriend the ribeye steak. It was the best steak we had eaten ever!! So tender full of flavor and we would definitely recommend the cognac sauce. I would come back if I was ever nearby. Service was excellent. Very nice and attentive people. Perfectly fried steaks! We ordered the steaks "English" and "Medium rare" and received them just right. The salad and side dishes/sauces are also very delicious. The service was very friendly and quick. Unfortunately we were just passing through, but when we're in the area again we definitely have to eat there again!

My husband and I just ate here tonight. The server was great, we both got the 200g filet surf & turf. Highly recommend the roasted potatoes and Caesar salad. We also loved the whiskey sours!!! Literally the best most tender steak of my life. It was so good. And the prices were worth every penny!!

Super nice service. The food is the best in the entire GaPa and Ammergau area - deliciously seasoned steaks, perfectly served, both Fillet and Ribeye melt in your mouth. BBQ ribs very tasty. The portions are very large, so you can easily eat just one second dish. Perfectly firm shrimps, deliciously prepared.

Saturday 01/24/25 / 4:00 p.m We were looking for a steakhouse on our way home from Austria and decided on Woods. We couldn't have made a better choice. For 2 people 300g beef fillet, grill plate, 2x baked potatoes, Caesar salad. It was a poem, the meat was top notch, cooked to perfection and seasoned to perfection. The portions are more than large enough to fill everyone up. The service, courteous and very friendly. The ambience is warm and inviting to linger longer. I'm passing through and traveling privately. The steakhouse WOODS was recommended to me by locals. You can probably guess my actual profession. But as I said, I was traveling privately. Unfortunately, I have to say that there have been few times in my life that I have been so disappointed by a recommendation. Above all, meat, its quality, preparation, service and the wishes of the guest are among the most important things for a restaurant. Everything at WOODS was disappointing. Only the location is quite nice. The meat has probably already had a few days behind it, which is probably the reason why it was completely cooked through, even though it was ordered medium. The side dishes are more of a show on the plate than anything else. If you spread tasteless food on many small plates, bowls or something else, that doesn't necessarily mean that it tastes good! I would also like to highlight the bad atmosphere in this restaurant! It feels like no one wants to work there. I come from Switzerland, something like this wouldn't exist there or would only exist for a short time!

We spontaneously got a seat even though it was full and the waiter even spoke to us in Spanish. The food was really good and despite the restaurant being full there were no long waits at the table. We will definitely come back. Absolutely recommended!

Went to the restaurant last night as our company's Christmas party and I have to say that if it were 10 stars, Woods would get it too. The food was excellent, the ambience was very tasteful and nice and the team was super friendly. We sat for far longer than the actual opening times and The staff continued to be very accommodating and said: take your time, everything's fine, it's nice that you're here. Something I've never heard before. And all the employees always have a smile on their faces. I'm thrilled and can highly recommend Woods.

Rib eye steak for €35 was ordered medium-rare and was served gray, dry and fried to death. Salting too long before frying probably did a fair bit to draw out the liquid. The taste was also relatively salty. The raw product (origin, quality, storage) certainly had high potential here. Unfortunately, the cooking process that evening was not good. I suspect that the meat was cooked in the salamander for too long after roasting to be able to serve all the dishes at the table at the same time. (Meat was hotter on top than on the bottom) Unfortunately, the core competency of a steakhouse was not quite fulfilled in my dish. The side dishes, however, were excellent. The ambience is still a bit “bare”. Open large hall with nave-like character. The operator's attempts to improve the acoustics with the help of sound-absorbing panels are a good approach here. But not yet effective. In my opinion, you could use colored elements such as curtains to improve the bright look (lots of white and light wood) and counteract the echoing sound. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Was always at the table at the right moment to take repeat orders. But in some cases the attention/listening when taking the order could be improved. Unfortunately, when we requested a simple glass of still water, a bottle of CO2 water was served. My conclusion: good grade 3/satisfactory, but there is still a lot of potential for improvement everywhere for the top 5 star rating. I will happily come back and then choose another product.

Great location, modern and invitingly furnished. My wife's Wiener Schnitzel was very good and very rich (two slices), so much so that she couldn't finish her side salad. Now to the spare ribs: if they are already served with refreshing towels, something is wrong. That means I have to eat with my hands and nibble the meat off the bone. That's how it was here too. With really good spare ribs, the meat should fall off the bone when pierced with a fork. So last week I was able to enjoy it twice in a steak house while on vacation in Spain. These ribs were a far cry from that. Next time I'll just eat a burger. They looked damn tasty on the other tables. That's why it's a total of 4 stars.

The restaurant offers a *very nice ambience* and the *nice staff* ensures a pleasant atmosphere. Particularly noteworthy is the *very tasty and imaginative vegetarian burger*, which is also offered at a *fair price*. Definitely worth a visit!

This is the best place we have eaten at in Europe. The server had great English. My husband who is a cattle rancher said this was one of the top 5 best steaks he has ever had in his life, he ordered the 200g beef fillet. The cocktails are great, the view is great, overall it was phenomenal. Highly recommend.

Sensational!!! We are thrilled every time. From pike perch to onion roast roast to cheese spaetzle, everything is simply great!

I went after 1 PM on a Saturday and found a parking spot close to the building. It may be up on a hill but you have to walk around to the side opposite the deck (you'll see it as you approach from the parking lot). You'll go upstairs once inside and find the entrance there. I was dining alone and was the only one eating inside the restaurant, all other patrons were on the deck. My server understood English and was very polite. I had a Caesar salad as an appetizer and a T-bone steak with steak fries for my entree. It was cooked medium well and came with garlic butter and au jus. I thoroughly enjoyed it. When I finished my server asked me if I wanted anything else (coffee, or dessert). I didn't but she brought me a piece of cake. I did pay for it and a bottle of water I asked for to go with the cake. Overall expect a European experience (as far as after eating your meal) even if you're dining alone.

We were swimming at the Eibsee and by chance we came across the Woods Steakhouse. What can I say? Extremely friendly staff, great ambience and views of the golf course and the mountains. I have to say the food was excellent. Super tasty beef fillet, served with well-seasoned fried potatoes and a spicy pepper sauce. I also had a Caesar salad as a side dish. All in all a successful evening. The icing on the cake was the nice conversation with the chef. He then invited us for a schnapps and had a nice chat with us. The Woods in Garmisch is definitely worth a visit and we will be back, despite the 200km journey. LG
