I was recently invited to dinner here and can only write enthusiastically about it. Because of my panic attacks, I'm very cautious about where I go, but I felt very comfortable here. The service was incredible. I've rarely experienced such friendliness before. The food came quickly and was beautifully presented. It tasted fantastic, and the meat was cooked to perfection. I'd happily return anytime and every time I'm in Garmisch.

So... We arrived there, and it didn't look that special from the outside, but the atmosphere inside was incredible. The waiter was so incredibly nice and very attentive despite all the stress. He bought us a fruit schnapps and shared a drink with us. Despite the high price, we were very satisfied. The food was excellent, although the spare ribs were a little dry, but nothing particularly noticeable. I highly recommend it!!! P.S. Be sure to make a reservation!

So, how can I begin? It was the best meat I've ever tasted. It was so good, you can't even imagine it. The service was excellent. The staff were super nice, very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was very relaxed and pleasant.

Our expectations were completely exceeded. The ambiance is fantastic, the food is simply divine... the steaks were so delicious. I've rarely had such a delicious meal. We were lucky to get a table that evening and immediately made a reservation for next time. IT'S REALLY WORTH EATING HERE!

The steakhouse was recommended to us, and we quickly made a reservation via email on Saturday for Sunday. We were supposed to go to the gorge beforehand, but that was canceled due to the weather. We still made the trip to the steakhouse, and it was definitely worth it, and we will be back. Very good, friendly, and quick service. The meat—in our case, a ribeye, spare ribs, and an Angus steak—was very, very good. The herb butter was also very good. The garlic bread is highly recommended, as are the onion rings. All in all, very good and highly recommended.

Well, I'm speechless! We were on vacation in GAP a few years ago and stumbled upon this steakhouse by chance. We were absolutely thrilled with the ambiance and the value for money. Now we're back on vacation here again and couldn't pass up this restaurant. And who would have expected it? - Our expectations were even exceeded! The same great ambiance, another incredibly good meal, and then "Gigi," our waitress. Such a wonderful, friendly, and disciplined gentleman! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience. Our dog was also welcome, but PLEASE ALWAYS MAKE A RESERVATION IN ADVANCE!

We've been coming here for about 8-9 years. It was a great coincidence after a day at Eibsee. Quick and competent reservation. Gigi is a great guy! Always friendly, even when he's stressed, he remains calm and relaxed. That makes him all the more likeable. Rico is a fantastic Michelin-starred chef! We always thank him personally 😉 The temporary staff are also super friendly. And the boss still helps out when needed. The ambiance is quaint and original. It fits the bill. It's also nice to be outside in the summer. Unfortunately, parking is limited on-site. But you can always find something nearby. And after an espresso and a schnapps, walking is good 😉 No matter what you order, it always tastes good, cooked to the second. Perfect! The price/performance ratio is also good. But you have to be prepared for it, if the place is full, it can take up to 60 minutes for the food to arrive. We never saw an empty hut. Always full, and without a reservation, there's almost no chance. We look forward to the next few years at the Waffenschmiede.

A lovely steakhouse with excellent grilled food and very friendly service. The Waffenschmiede am Mühlbach was actually once a blacksmith's shop. It has a very nice rustic, antique ambiance.

The best Steak I have had in Europe! To qualify that... I grew up in Texas around cattle and have travelled the world. I had a filet, roasted potatoes, and grilled corn on the cobb and it was done perfectly. Will definitely go back for the next entree (BBQ Ribs)

We came in without a reservation and they were able to accommodate. The waiter was very nice. We got the baguette with garlic butter and it was very garlicky (but amazing). Our steak was perfect. Would definitely recommend visiting if you are looking for steak while in town.

The meal is very delicious. It’s the best steak I’ve ever eaten. It’s even better than Taiwan’s steak. 🥹 There is a strong sense of ceremony. Even if three people order two meals and ask him for an empty plate, he will also put decorations on the empty plate. After ordering the main meal, you can choose the side dishes you want. From the reservation to the end everything was almost perfect. We are happy to travel 1 hour for the great food and then enjoy every second in the restaurant. We never mind the slightly longer waiting time because everything is freshly prepared and that takes time. The ribeye was again an absolute culinary delight. A reservation can be an advantage as it is busy. There is parking in front of the restaurant or on the street. Were pleasantly surprised and would love to come back.

Fantastic local restaurant with a warm and genuine ambiance. The server was polite and helpful. Reservations ahead of time is best, especially for the weekends. Anything our lips touched on the menu was delicious, cannot go wrong with ordering anything from here. The steak was cooked precisely to our liking as well.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is rather rustic, but it is nice to look at and it is really great to sit down. You should definitely make a reservation so that you can get a place, but that's absolutely normal in Garmisch!

Long wait between ordering and serving the food - food was good The gruff male waitress doesn't show any willingness to serve. Prices ok Ambience not appealing - cobwebs are probably part of the decoration. Never again.

The steakhouse itself is a marvel, designed to resemble an old castle. There's a working rotating water mill, and the paint carvings on the windows appear nearly ancient and irreplaceable, adding a touch of historical charm to the place. The prices are great, and we all left with fully stuffed bellies. Overall, I would definitely recommend this steakhouse to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience.

Zur Waffenschmiede - great steakhouse in Garmisch Partenkirchen. We were very surprised at how well the restaurant was decorated - rustic with lots of old farm items. Very comfortable! In the middle of the restaurant there is a grill with an open fireplace. For dinner we had sirloin steaks with salad and fries. The steaks were grilled very well - just as we imagined. The meat was lean and good quality. The whole thing was accompanied by a sauvignon from Argentina - great combination! Kaiserschmand arrived for dessert - oh, that was delicious! Thank you again for the lovely evening and see you again this week 🍀🙏

We are currently on a skiing holiday in Garmisch and happened to end up in the steakhouse. We were thrilled by the beautiful ambience, the very friendly and attentive staff and of course the food. We'll definitely be back.

It was our first time at the Waffenschmiede steakhouse, the service was friendly and attentive. The rib-eye was perfectly fried and was super tasty, very good quality meat. Priced in the upper segment.

We were warmly welcomed and the service asked us to be patient as the restaurant was very busy. We ordered an appetizer to pass the time. The beef steaks were cooked just as we ordered. To our surprise, we learned that the landlady, now 77 years old, was in the kitchen and prepared everything herself. Our greatest respect for this!

Discovered a steakhouse by accident. Reserved for the same evening. The waiting times are a bit long, but we were informed of this. It wasn't a problem for us, so we ate a small starter. The wait was worth it. STEAKS were perfectly prepared. Everything was very tasty, absolutely recommended. The waiter was also very attentive, but not intrusive. We'll definitely come back again.

A very nice, rustic restaurant with a unique ambience. You can't help but be amazed. The waiter was extremely friendly and the food was just perfect! Luckily we made a reservation, otherwise it would have been difficult to get a place there on Friday evening. We had to wait a correspondingly long time [approx. 1 3/4 hours] for our food... But we were also informed about the long waiting time right from the start. But as I said, the wait was absolutely worth it, I had a sirloin steak medium rare - really recommended!! Thank you very much, we'll be happy to come back.

The three of us ate here on Friday and it was so delicious that we made another reservation for Saturday. The meat is absolutely amazing for the price, folks. Price-performance 1+! Gigi, the head waiter/manager, is a really funny and friendly person who also drank a few shots with us. We'll definitely be back next year.

The food was ok, nothing special just ok. The sangria was good, I liked it. The weiter was nice. What was the problem? I asked for extra salsa and they charged me 8€ extra without telling me in advance. I complained when we got the bill and they told me that is how it is in Germany, which is totally wrong. I have lived in Germany for 30 years and most of the extra sauce are free or maybe they will charge you a euro or a euro and a half for it but not 4 euros for a little tiny extra saucer (this is why we had two, because the portions was very very tiny). So, after I complained, the owner or manager came to us and told me I had to pay, I told her I will but I wanted her to know that I was not happy. Instead of her being understanding she was rude and ugly, she told me I will never be welcome in the restaurant again (not that I would ever come back), she was just so ugly. The ironic thing is that the weiter actually took the extra 8€ from the bill without the manager even knowing (which was very confusing to me) but she still was so ugly to me even accusing me, as I was leaving, for not leaving a tip for the weiter (which by the way, tips are not required in Germany). I had given the waiter 5€ tip for his service but I guess she didn’t see me doing that. Anyway, I just wanted to share my bad experience in a restaurant where owners/managers believe they are entitled to charge you wherever they want for extras without telling you in advance.

I've always enjoyed coming here for years. In addition to the special, cozy atmosphere, I always like the food here. The TexMex finger food is good. The chicken wings are marinated in a spicy way. But the steaks in particular are highly recommended here, but the vegetables etc. are also delicious. BUT the extremely (!) long waiting time for the main course (a good 1.5 hours) was far too long (2 people in the fairly well-arranged kitchen), at least it was communicated in advance. This essentially forces you to choose an appetizer if you don't want to starve. And more drinks are the side effect. Well, I can overlook that if necessary, but unfortunately my expensive asado was mixed this time, I haven't had anything like that here before (but also never in the Block House)... Very, very unfortunate. And be sure to reserve! By the way, there are no fish dishes here.

Were here on 8/10 at 12pm. The light beer on tap is highly recommended. There were two of us. My girlfriend ate spare ribs and she really enjoyed them. I also highly recommend eating a 300g fillet steak with pan-fried vegetables and pepper sauce. They did a great job medium rare. The price is all worth it.

At 8:00 p.m. you can't get anything to eat because the kitchen closes at 9:00 p.m. and the restaurant is open until 11:00 p.m.

This place is amazing. 500 year old building. Cozy atmosphere. 75year old chef who knows how to prepare meat. The food is delicious and the staff is super friendly. Hands down the best dinner experience we’ve had in quite a while. We had the bbq skewer with amazing sauce. We’re going back tonight for the ribs. It’s advisable to make a reservation, but there is a shared table available.
