Honestly had a great meal, peppercorn sauce was so good, my steak cooked well and the ‘special potatoes’ were exactly like my nan used to make! The only thing that brings it down was my partners steak was under, before we could even say anything though the waiter spotted it after coming over to check everything was okay and immediately said he would take it back to the kitchen. What a hero. They were apologetic and we enjoyed the dinner after it was corrected

A really cool place, rustic and with a special charm. The staff were extremely friendly and not at all pushy. We were lucky and got a table for two that same evening. The quality of the meat was excellent, and the portion was more than generous. Unfortunately, we were so full after the main course that we couldn't order dessert. If you're vacationing in the area, definitely eat here at least once. Top

The food is equally delicious. We were very lucky to snag the last two seats without a reservation. I would therefore recommend making a reservation in advance. The only minor criticism is that the menu prices on site differ slightly from the ones on the website. However, for quality products, you're happy to pay that price. We'd be happy to come back.

Good food, good service. I would happily go back. I was a little hesitant walking in, the decor is a tacky amalgamation of knick knacks giving "Grandma's house meets flea market addict". But we were able to call about 30 minutes ahead of time and get a seat, so we went for it. I'm really happy we did. The waiter was prompt with his service, and very helpful. The food was overall good, and the price (for a steakhouse) was reasonable.

We discovered the "Steakhouse zur Waffenschmiede" restaurant thanks to the good reviews, and it completely met our expectations! For starters, we had corn, garlic bread, and salad. Everything was incredibly delicious, especially the corn; I've never tasted it so good. After that, we had ribeye and beef fillet with baked potatoes, and here, too, everything was simply fantastic and perfectly prepared. The service was super friendly and very accommodating. The ambiance is rustic and transports you straight back to the days of the Waffenschmiede, simply cozy and inviting. To finish, we had Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancakes) for dessert, which was wonderfully seasoned and the perfect end to the evening. All in all, a thoroughly successful evening. --> highly recommended!

The food was outstanding, and I've never experienced such perfect service. Unfortunately, I have to leave the place due to vacation, but as soon as I return, this will be my first stop. Everything was perfect!

Reasonable steak in a good atmosphere

The ribeye steak here is simply the best in all of Germany! So tender, juicy, and flavorful—truly like butter. I'm a huge steak fan, but I've never eaten a steak like this before. The server is super friendly, the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is cozy and rustic. We come here every time we go south. Highly recommended!

I was recently invited to dinner here and can only write enthusiastically about it. Because of my panic attacks, I'm very cautious about where I go, but I felt very comfortable here. The service was incredible. I've rarely experienced such friendliness before. The food came quickly and was beautifully presented. It tasted fantastic, and the meat was cooked to perfection. I'd happily return anytime and every time I'm in Garmisch.

So... We arrived there, and it didn't look that special from the outside, but the atmosphere inside was incredible. The waiter was so incredibly nice and very attentive despite all the stress. He bought us a fruit schnapps and shared a drink with us. Despite the high price, we were very satisfied. The food was excellent, although the spare ribs were a little dry, but nothing particularly noticeable. I highly recommend it!!! P.S. Be sure to make a reservation!

The steakhouse was recommended to us, and we quickly made a reservation via email on Saturday for Sunday. We were supposed to go to the gorge beforehand, but that was canceled due to the weather. We still made the trip to the steakhouse, and it was definitely worth it, and we will be back. Very good, friendly, and quick service. The meat—in our case, a ribeye, spare ribs, and an Angus steak—was very, very good. The herb butter was also very good. The garlic bread is highly recommended, as are the onion rings. All in all, very good and highly recommended.

Well, I'm speechless! We were on vacation in GAP a few years ago and stumbled upon this steakhouse by chance. We were absolutely thrilled with the ambiance and the value for money. Now we're back on vacation here again and couldn't pass up this restaurant. And who would have expected it? - Our expectations were even exceeded! The same great ambiance, another incredibly good meal, and then "Gigi," our waitress. Such a wonderful, friendly, and disciplined gentleman! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience. Our dog was also welcome, but PLEASE ALWAYS MAKE A RESERVATION IN ADVANCE!

We've been coming here for about 8-9 years. It was a great coincidence after a day at Eibsee. Quick and competent reservation. Gigi is a great guy! Always friendly, even when he's stressed, he remains calm and relaxed. That makes him all the more likeable. Rico is a fantastic Michelin-starred chef! We always thank him personally 😉 The temporary staff are also super friendly. And the boss still helps out when needed. The ambiance is quaint and original. It fits the bill. It's also nice to be outside in the summer. Unfortunately, parking is limited on-site. But you can always find something nearby. And after an espresso and a schnapps, walking is good 😉 No matter what you order, it always tastes good, cooked to the second. Perfect! The price/performance ratio is also good. But you have to be prepared for it, if the place is full, it can take up to 60 minutes for the food to arrive. We never saw an empty hut. Always full, and without a reservation, there's almost no chance. We look forward to the next few years at the Waffenschmiede.

The best Steak I have had in Europe! To qualify that... I grew up in Texas around cattle and have travelled the world. I had a filet, roasted potatoes, and grilled corn on the cobb and it was done perfectly. Will definitely go back for the next entree (BBQ Ribs)

We came in without a reservation and they were able to accommodate. The waiter was very nice. We got the baguette with garlic butter and it was very garlicky (but amazing). Our steak was perfect. Would definitely recommend visiting if you are looking for steak while in town.

Zur Waffenschmiede - great steakhouse in Garmisch Partenkirchen. We were very surprised at how well the restaurant was decorated - rustic with lots of old farm items. Very comfortable! In the middle of the restaurant there is a grill with an open fireplace. For dinner we had sirloin steaks with salad and fries. The steaks were grilled very well - just as we imagined. The meat was lean and good quality. The whole thing was accompanied by a sauvignon from Argentina - great combination! Kaiserschmand arrived for dessert - oh, that was delicious! Thank you again for the lovely evening and see you again this week 🍀🙏

We are currently on a skiing holiday in Garmisch and happened to end up in the steakhouse. We were thrilled by the beautiful ambience, the very friendly and attentive staff and of course the food. We'll definitely be back.

We were warmly welcomed and the service asked us to be patient as the restaurant was very busy. We ordered an appetizer to pass the time. The beef steaks were cooked just as we ordered. To our surprise, we learned that the landlady, now 77 years old, was in the kitchen and prepared everything herself. Our greatest respect for this!
