The meal is very delicious. It’s the best steak I’ve ever eaten. It’s even better than Taiwan’s steak. 🥹 There is a strong sense of ceremony. Even if three people order two meals and ask him for an empty plate, he will also put decorations on the empty plate. After ordering the main meal, you can choose the side dishes you want. Remember to order ribeyes and rump. The price doesn’t feel too expensive compared to prices in Taiwan😵‍💫

A friend recommended this restaurant, and it lived up to expectations. Due to limited indoor seating, reservations are highly recommended. Everything we ordered was excellent. I particularly recommend the sangria!

Great restaurant! We went to this steakhouse because of the many positive reviews and were very satisfied. The steakhouse is very tastefully decorated both inside and out. The server who served us was great. Professional and friendly. The drinks and food came very quickly and were simply delicious! Whether it was soup, steak, or wings. We haven't eaten this well in a long time! We were extremely satisfied! A little gem in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Highly recommended.

From the reservation to the end everything was almost perfect. We are happy to travel 1 hour for the great food and then enjoy every second in the restaurant. We never mind the slightly longer waiting time because everything is freshly prepared and that takes time. The ribeye was again an absolute culinary delight. We are already looking forward to the next visit 😋

Very nice atmosphere and good service. The food 4 out of 5. The food was tasty, as it should be, but nothing special. You also have to pay separately for the side dish, which I found a little strange. 9 steakhouses out of 10 offer a steak with fries and sauce included, here you have to pay extra, which then becomes quite expensive.

A steakhouse with various delicious dishes. Reasonably large portion and well prepared was well received by me/us. Good taste. Good friendly service. We were lucky and got a place. A reservation can be an advantage as it is busy. There is parking in front of the restaurant or on the street. Were pleasantly surprised and would love to come back.

Fantastic local restaurant with a warm and genuine ambiance. The server was polite and helpful. Reservations ahead of time is best, especially for the weekends. Anything our lips touched on the menu was delicious, cannot go wrong with ordering anything from here. The steak was cooked precisely to our liking as well.

The food and the sangria were really delicious. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere of the restaurant is rather rustic, but it is nice to look at and it is really great to sit down. You should definitely make a reservation so that you can get a place, but that's absolutely normal in Garmisch!

Long wait between ordering and serving the food - food was good The gruff male waitress doesn't show any willingness to serve. Prices ok Ambience not appealing - cobwebs are probably part of the decoration. Never again.

My friends and I recently visited this steakhouse as a group of four, and it was an unforgettable experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and to our pleasant surprise, we were treated to a few rounds of schnaps on the house. This generous gesture only amplified the fantastic atmosphere. The steakhouse itself is a marvel, designed to resemble an old castle. There's a working rotating water mill, and the paint carvings on the windows appear nearly ancient and irreplaceable, adding a touch of historical charm to the place. The prices are great, and we all left with fully stuffed bellies. Overall, I would definitely recommend this steakhouse to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience.

Zur Waffenschmiede - great steakhouse in Garmisch Partenkirchen. We were very surprised at how well the restaurant was decorated - rustic with lots of old farm items. Very comfortable! In the middle of the restaurant there is a grill with an open fireplace. For dinner we had sirloin steaks with salad and fries. The steaks were grilled very well - just as we imagined. The meat was lean and good quality. The whole thing was accompanied by a sauvignon from Argentina - great combination! Kaiserschmand arrived for dessert - oh, that was delicious! Thank you again for the lovely evening and see you again this week 🍀🙏

Absolutely excellent food and incredibly nice service

We are currently on a skiing holiday in Garmisch and happened to end up in the steakhouse. We were thrilled by the beautiful ambience, the very friendly and attentive staff and of course the food. We'll definitely be back.

It was our first time at the Waffenschmiede steakhouse, the service was friendly and attentive. The rib-eye was perfectly fried and was super tasty, very good quality meat. Priced in the upper segment.

We were warmly welcomed and the service asked us to be patient as the restaurant was very busy. We ordered an appetizer to pass the time. The beef steaks were cooked just as we ordered. To our surprise, we learned that the landlady, now 77 years old, was in the kitchen and prepared everything herself. Our greatest respect for this!

If you were lucky, you got a place without a reservation twice. Very accommodating and good food, nice atmosphere. I'd love to come back

Discovered a steakhouse by accident. Reserved for the same evening. The waiting times are a bit long, but we were informed of this. It wasn't a problem for us, so we ate a small starter. The wait was worth it. STEAKS were perfectly prepared. Everything was very tasty, absolutely recommended. The waiter was also very attentive, but not intrusive. We'll definitely come back again.

A very nice, rustic restaurant with a unique ambience. You can't help but be amazed. The waiter was extremely friendly and the food was just perfect! Luckily we made a reservation, otherwise it would have been difficult to get a place there on Friday evening. We had to wait a correspondingly long time [approx. 1 3/4 hours] for our food... But we were also informed about the long waiting time right from the start. But as I said, the wait was absolutely worth it, I had a sirloin steak medium rare - really recommended!! Thank you very much, we'll be happy to come back.

The three of us ate here on Friday and it was so delicious that we made another reservation for Saturday. The meat is absolutely amazing for the price, folks. Price-performance 1+! Gigi, the head waiter/manager, is a really funny and friendly person who also drank a few shots with us. We'll definitely be back next year.

The food was ok, nothing special just ok. The sangria was good, I liked it. The weiter was nice. What was the problem? I asked for extra salsa and they charged me 8€ extra without telling me in advance. I complained when we got the bill and they told me that is how it is in Germany, which is totally wrong. I have lived in Germany for 30 years and most of the extra sauce are free or maybe they will charge you a euro or a euro and a half for it but not 4 euros for a little tiny extra saucer (this is why we had two, because the portions was very very tiny). So, after I complained, the owner or manager came to us and told me I had to pay, I told her I will but I wanted her to know that I was not happy. Instead of her being understanding she was rude and ugly, she told me I will never be welcome in the restaurant again (not that I would ever come back), she was just so ugly. The ironic thing is that the weiter actually took the extra 8€ from the bill without the manager even knowing (which was very confusing to me) but she still was so ugly to me even accusing me, as I was leaving, for not leaving a tip for the weiter (which by the way, tips are not required in Germany). I had given the waiter 5€ tip for his service but I guess she didn’t see me doing that. Anyway, I just wanted to share my bad experience in a restaurant where owners/managers believe they are entitled to charge you wherever they want for extras without telling you in advance.

I've always enjoyed coming here for years. In addition to the special, cozy atmosphere, I always like the food here. The TexMex finger food is good. The chicken wings are marinated in a spicy way. But the steaks in particular are highly recommended here, but the vegetables etc. are also delicious. BUT the extremely (!) long waiting time for the main course (a good 1.5 hours) was far too long (2 people in the fairly well-arranged kitchen), at least it was communicated in advance. This essentially forces you to choose an appetizer if you don't want to starve. And more drinks are the side effect. Well, I can overlook that if necessary, but unfortunately my expensive asado was mixed this time, I haven't had anything like that here before (but also never in the Block House)... Very, very unfortunate. And be sure to reserve! By the way, there are no fish dishes here.

We reserved in advance. The restaurant is rustically furnished. Staff friendly and always asks if everything is okay. The steaks are cooked to perfection the way you want them. If you love all kinds of steaks, this is the place for you. Can be recommended.

Were here on 8/10 at 12pm. The light beer on tap is highly recommended. There were two of us. My girlfriend ate spare ribs and she really enjoyed them. I also highly recommend eating a 300g fillet steak with pan-fried vegetables and pepper sauce. They did a great job medium rare. The price is all worth it.

Couldn’t believe how good the steaks were here (better than many steakhouses in the states). Great atmosphere, good beer, wonderful service. Will be back.

At 8:00 p.m. you can't get anything to eat because the kitchen closes at 9:00 p.m. and the restaurant is open until 11:00 p.m.

The best meal we had on our third day in Germany, including food and atmosphere, the service was also the best. Even though the waiter told us we would have to wait a long time, it was well worth it.

This place is amazing. 500 year old building. Cozy atmosphere. 75year old chef who knows how to prepare meat. The food is delicious and the staff is super friendly. Hands down the best dinner experience we’ve had in quite a while. We had the bbq skewer with amazing sauce. We’re going back tonight for the ribs. It’s advisable to make a reservation, but there is a shared table available.

Das Essen ist jedesmal super lecker, die sind Hüftsteaks auf den Punkt gegart, so dass es jedesmal immer wieder ein Erlebnis ist! Der Kellner Gigi macht und tut und rennt für jeden Gast, nur damit es dem Gast auch gut geht und alle zufrieden nach Hause gehen. Hier ist der Gast jedenfalls noch König - und als Tipp, unbedingt vorher reservieren, damit man nicht enttäuscht ist, wenn alles ausgebucht ist!

The food was excellent. What particularly stood out for us, however, was the service. We were there with our 1-year-old son and when we arrived the high chair was already ready and a small fork was also on the table. The waiter was very attentive without being intrusive, he was friendly, polite and always kept an eye out if something was missing, passed on important information and was very familiar with the menu. A service of this class is (has become) very rare.

We happened to go to Garmisch-Partenkirchen again and I saw on Google Maps that there was a steakhouse nearby. We (2 adults and 1 child) spontaneously decided to simply ask if we could still get a place (5:47 p.m.). It was important to us that there was something to eat for children too. No sooner said than done and we called to see if there was a table for us at 6 p.m. The nice lady on the phone said there was another table at the entrance or we could sit somewhere else. We chose the table near the entrance. When we arrived there, we first admired the furnishings and were greeted with the words “Hello, nice to have you with us.” That alone is so friendly and nice! The cards were brought to us and it was also explained that there were children's menus (mega!!!) e.g. pancakes with applesauce or ice cream, a drink and ice cream as dessert or even nuggets. That alone is mega. The nice gentleman from the service then offered to give us advice after we looked through the cards. He also pointed out to us that our meal would take some time, but that they could bring our son's food earlier. That alone shows the fine sense of service for parents too. When we had chosen, he gave us some more information about the dish and the possible combinations. Which we gratefully acknowledged. The son's food was brought first so that we could eat in peace later. Our wait wasn't really long, and there was something to look at and marvel at everywhere. We both had the Steak Mendoza (beef rump with baked potato, sour cream, garlic baguette and herb butter) and as a family we also had Steakhouse Fries with sour cream. We didn't really need the fries but we didn't know what to expect but they were nice to have. The steak was a dream in terms of quality, seasoning and doneness (medium). The sour cream was delicately seasoned and was devoured down to the last drop. The herb butter was very, very finely balanced, the bread was crispy and the baked potato was rich. The best steak I've ever eaten and we've tried quite a few. I would have loved to strip out the pots and pans. As a farewell, our son was given the treasure chest where he was allowed to choose something. And I would like to emphasize again how friendly, committed and courteous the service was. This is what customer acquisition looks like. On the one hand, we had a wonderful last evening as a family on vacation and on the other hand, we were able to enjoy this high-quality cuisine and service. If we come to this corner again (and we will!) we know where we will go! The only point of criticism: today after 2 days I'm just living off the memories ;-))))
