CELEBRATING NIKS 21st BDAY in Perfect Way!!!!

After a pleasant visit to the Christmas market and before a performance at the Obelisk cabaret, we and our friends happened to stop at the Montana Steakhouse. The service was excellent from the very first moment. Drinks and food were brought to the table together and were delicious. My spare ribs were unfortunately very dry. Without any problem, I immediately received new spare ribs, and the service team checked to make sure everything was alright. A dropped knife was replaced without a word. We were completely satisfied and will gladly return on our next visit to Potsdam.

All dishes were very good little bit less to perfect.

We were delighted! It's a cozy restaurant, and we ordered the lunch menu for €14 per dish. The portions were generous and absolutely delicious – I highly recommend it. If you combine it with, say, the current Christmas market, it's a great alternative to a €5 bratwurst 😅

We spontaneously went there for dinner on December 20, 2025. It was truly excellent, especially the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff. For example, a knife fell and immediately a completely new set of cutlery appeared on the table; the spare ribs were a bit dry, but new ones were brought without any fuss. We've had some bad experiences at other restaurants. So, absolutely recommended, and we'll definitely be back.

The food was absolutely delicious, the steak arrived exactly as ordered, cooked to perfection. The large salad was just as I had imagined it. Thank you so much! The service was also outstanding, matching the quality of the food. We will definitely be back!

If you're looking for delicious food, Stakehouse Montana is the place to go. Incredibly tasty food, harmonious music at a pleasant volume, and a beautiful ambiance. The service is excellent and very attentive. You feel right at home. There are many places that serve stakes, but none like Stakehouse Montana. The meat was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We stumbled upon this steakhouse by chance during our stay in Potsdam – and were so impressed that we went twice! On our first visit, I had the spare ribs – simply sensational! Such tender meat and an incredibly delicious flavor, accompanied by perfectly seasoned potato wedges. My husband had a rump steak – cooked to perfection. We often go out for steak, but we haven't had meat this good in a long time! On our second visit, we both had the rump steak again – again perfectly prepared. The homemade herb butter, the fresh vegetables, and the cozy ambiance rounded off the whole experience wonderfully. A special compliment goes to the service: you rarely experience such warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly service! Customer service is still a top priority here. Thank you for the great experience – we will definitely be back 😊👍

The entrecote medium was very good, the spare ribs and wedges were miserable and should have been sent back to the kitchen.

Super delicious! I ordered the beef stir-fry. The meat was cooked well, yet still tender. The potato wedges were crispy, and the variety of vegetables were well-seasoned. Definitely recommended :)

Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it. The steak is poor quality. The portion is too small, but the fries are good, but that doesn't help. You'd expect an American feel from a steakhouse called Montana, but neither the waiter's appearance nor the interior design nor the music playing there lived up to that.

My friends and I came to this restaurant last May 2025 for lunch due to the good reviews we read online. However, the waiter who served us (forgot his name because he’s irrelevant to us now) was very rude which made our experience dissatisfying and frustrating. Hopefully, they will let that man go or else if people will continue to receive the kind of service we received from that arrogant, impatient and rude man, they might lose more customers. (Take note, we spoke to him in german and it wasn’t a busy day that time).

I can only recommend it with reservations. The food was adequate. The pieces of meat were too small, and the Montana plate, for just under €30, had too many potato wedges. It could be improved. The salad was good. Outdoor seating is also available. The staff is friendly. A more affordable lunch menu is available during the week at set times.

Good meat, tasty fries, and a good dressing for the side salad. Very fast and friendly service, very attentive. Very good value for money. There's currently construction work around the restaurant, which makes the atmosphere a bit less cozy. Otherwise, highly recommended.

Tastes great, the owner is very nice, cozy place

The entrecôte wasn't hung for long enough and was extremely stringy. No trace of salt. Fried potatoes? More like boiled potatoes without a crust, just tossed. The green beans and fries (why always those thick flat fries?) were fine. They all had salt, too – but nothing about herbs – which were also missing from the herb butter. On the table, only the lowest standard of salt sprinkles and plain old pepper dusting. Add to that a rather stubbornly moody head waiter with mood swings to round out the experience. Entrecôte with two extra sides – plus herb butter on limp arugula for €3.50 – makes €32 for the small steak. All in all: unloving and unmotivated. I guess that's enough for tourists.

The food was excellent! The steaks were cooked to perfection, just the way we wanted them. And everything was low-carb or even keto-friendly.

had to pay 12 euros for wine and beer. wanted to pay by card but was told by the waiter that if it was by card it would be 20 euros. had planned to eat there but that was quickly changed

We took advantage of the lunch special. The price-performance ratio was good. The Montana steak was just under €15. The portion size explains the price, but it was quite generous. Unfortunately, the steak, which the waiter said "will automatically be medium," was not medium in my case, but well done. Otherwise, everything tasted great. The fries were also excellent. I find the drinks quite expensive. Unfortunately, the waiter made it clear that it was Monday. Friendliness doesn't seem to be his strong suit. At least the food came out pretty quickly. All in all, though, it was quite good.

Ordered beef fillet tips with Gorgonzola sauce. What I got: Soup beef with curdled sauce. The salad was days old and inedible. When I complained, the employee said, "Cancellation of the price is not possible because the manager wasn't there." I also ordered a steak and got a meat patty. Well, that's pretty sad.

Very good. The food tasted good and the staff were very friendly, especially the young lady who has been there for a while and is very friendly and attentive. The city has just severely restricted parking. It's a shame for the shops, restaurants and doctor's offices. As a guest you notice that this was definitely decided by a city employee or a group of employees who only get paid tax money and don't know how to make a living in the private sector and have forgotten where the tax money comes from. The balance between being environmentally friendly and making money for the economy has mostly been lost on these people in the city administration. You can usually recognize these people by the fact that they love the whole world, just not Germany. Cursed be these people who make it difficult for shops, restaurants, etc. that don't survive on tax money.

Everything was great. Service was super friendly even though they were fully booked. The food, 1x veal liver and 1x pork steak, was super tender and juicy. Highly recommended.

The food was good, although the rump steak was unfortunately cooked more than medium and had a bit of a roasted flavor. Fast, competent, good, and friendly service, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. Delicious cocktails. Good value for money. Overall, I was satisfied with my visit.

I was stressed out and was able to relax here on a Saturday lunchtime with a 0.33L Feldschlösschen. The dishes that were served to the other guests here were all well above the standard, despite the competitive prices. The staff is very well trained and offers guests a courteous and relaxed experience. I'm sitting outside at table 111 and enjoying the great weather in the shade of an umbrella. There's even a beautiful, real flower on my table. For smokers there is an ashtray on the table upon request. Addendum, today after a year I received the best liver of my life. No additional seasoning was necessary as well-known restaurants can take a leaf out of it!

A fine steak house with a pleasant atmosphere. Friendly staff and great service. The food was delicious and the price was right. The wine was a bit over the price, but OK. Highly recommended for lunch or evening.

Unfortunately I didn't think it was that great. When we were there 2 months ago, we may have had a bad day. The waiter wasn't very service oriented. We wanted dessert before the main course and he couldn't/didn't want to understand that. Unfortunately the food was super fatty and the meat was tough. Everything was also quite expensive. We won't be coming back.

A completely normal steakhouse with excellent service, very courteous service. The food and the meat specialties were really excellent. Can really be highly recommended. Unfortunately, we ordered the tapas platter to disappointment because we think that the tapas were actually put in there from the discount store in normal packaging. They were nicely presented but unfortunately there was no real explosion of taste. The ambience was okay. I think in the nice summer months you can spend some time there with a beer and maybe a small meal.

Had lunch. Scampi in olive oil with garlic as a starter, steak and pasta with scampi as a main course. Unfortunately, the starter didn't taste like anything, no hints of garlic and the scampi just... like nothing. Pasta with scamip as a main course also doesn't taste like anything. We then mixed the cream sauce from the steak side dish into the pasta so that it at least had some flavor. Steak = leather sole. Fried potato was freshly warmed up. The waiter never once asked whether it was tasty, neither during the meal nor when serving or paying. Unfortunately we'll never come. (Both from the catering industry)

The lunch was served quickly, the steak was cooked to perfection and the salad with a delicious dressing was very tasty. Plus low prices in a nice atmosphere, just right! Gladly again at any time 😋

It should be the grill plate for 2 people for 53 euros. First you get an extremely cheap salad. The plate basically looks good. BUT the lamb was extremely little and almost only fat, the turkey chicken was average (you can't go wrong there either) but the beef was a complete failure. I struggled to complain about it. A replacement was really kindly procured. But that was also so tough... Inedible...unfortunately. An attempt was made to compensate for this with a free drink and/or dessert.

Nice and quiet atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, steaks and side dishes delicious and cooked to perfection. Upon request, fresh gluten-free bread was even served as a starter. Full five stars!

We visited this cozy restaurant twice during our vacation in Potsdam. The food was very tasty and plentiful. The service was convincing with his charming smile and his attentiveness that he recognized us as we had already been guests the day before. All in all, highly recommended.

It was full and we decided to wait 30 minutes and hope something would become available. After 3 minutes the employee came out and put a table in front of a sideboard for us and we could order. Starter... TOP Main course... TOP Service... Mega TOP When we're in the area again we'll stop by.

This steakhouse is very comfortably located on a street corner in downtown Potsdam. The menu offers no surprises, but at least it is exactly what is usually offered in steakhouses in Germany. The quality of the food, the friendliness and professionalism of the service were not objectionable.

Unfortunately we can only rate our visit to this restaurant with one star. One star goes to the friendly waiter. The meal itself was disappointing as we spoiled our stomachs. My husband had a grill plate that resulted in diarrhea. The four types of meat were dry, cold and unseasoned. My vegetarian dish wasn't tasty either, it only consisted of potato wedges and vegetables baked in oil, without seasoning and without sauce/dip. We paid 65 euros for the two dishes plus a water and a beer. When we wanted to pay, they said the card reader wasn't working. After we checked again before we went to collect the cash, it worked. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience that we have not experienced before, even though we eat out often.

I had a Montana grill plate and all 4 types of meat were really tough! My wife had a rump steak, which was medium rare as requested but totally charred on the outside! Sorry but that was just disappointing, every hobby cook can do it better in the pan at home. It's a shame

This is not a bad place and the service is good, I've had worse experiences but everything seems rushed and the food not so fresh. It's a steakhouse and I'd like to enjoy a glass of wine and breathe a little but here the food came so quick and I don't think that's ever a good sign. I ordered my steak medium but it arrived rare. Maybe slow down a little and let people relax and then that way the steaks might also get cooked correctly.

The food was delicious, huge portions, everyone was full... even me ;-))). The lady who served us was very nice, not pushy, and a huge plus... we were with 2 large dogs and we could go in, so I really recommend it a place with all my heart....of course, the prices are most affordable

The two of us had dinner here a while ago. We really liked the selection of dishes and we had to spend some time thinking about which dish we wanted to choose. Since we sat outside, I can't say much about the interior, but it was very pleasant outside despite the street next to it. Our service was very friendly and not overly intrusive, which is the case with some restaurants. The food is of great quality and tasted excellent. The prices were absolutely justified for the preparation and quantity as well as for the taste. All in all, it was a great visit and we'll definitely be back if our thirst for steak is renewed.
