The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The wait was relatively long for a burger, especially considering the restaurant only had about 10 guests. I would suggest that the waiter, "Jan," reconsider his career choice. That's not what I call friendly.

We visited today after a long time. Up until now, we'd always been satisfied. Matador has always been synonymous with outstanding service for us. Today was completely different. Unenthusiastic, overly casual, and presumably untrained staff unfortunately ruined our evening. For this reason, we won't be returning to this restaurant.

Unfortunately, the meat in our burgers was already cold when it was served. The service was very friendly and attentive, and overall the food was good and the steaks were cooked to perfection. We would have liked a wider selection of non-alcoholic drinks. In our region, it's common to order non-alcoholic spritzes and gin.

Unfortunately, long before closing time, guests are asked to come back to the end. They should speak to the chef! A tip for the chef: a Wiener Schnitzel doesn't have to be so dry.

A charming place opposite the Brandenburg Gate, but also in Potsdam. The food is delicious and well-prepared, considering it's Spanish cuisine in Germany. The atmosphere is great, with its musical clock next to it. The staff is super friendly, and they try to speak Spanish. If you're passing through Potsdam, pay them a visit.

The restaurant visit was impressive, with friendly service and flavorful food. The rump steak was excellently prepared, accompanied by well-seasoned sweet potatoes and a refreshing Aperol Spritz. A true culinary highlight all around! Unfortunately, some table decorations were missing to create an even more cozy atmosphere.

We stopped by Matador late this afternoon to catch up on our lunch. My husband had a burger, and I had pasta. The waitress (René) was very friendly, attentive, and very quick. He knows his craft! Compliments! We enjoyed the food immensely, and the seating on the terrace was very pleasant. We highly recommend this restaurant! PS: We came back here a day later. We were very pleased with everything there, too!

Very good food and nice service

My wife and two young children (5 and 2) spontaneously stopped by the restaurant for lunch. The staff were very friendly, and they even handed out a children's menu with coloring pages and crayons. The children ordered the kids' pasta with sauce, and my wife and I each ordered a burger. The wait for food and drinks was short, and the dishes were delicious. The price was also reasonable.

The Matador Restaurant is highly recommended. The ambiance and location immediately invite you to feel at home. The service staff were very attentive, friendly, and knew their stuff. We both had steaks, which you could choose from five different degrees of doneness, which is quite amazing, and we were not disappointed. Both steaks were cooked to perfection, and the side dishes (bacon beans, herb butter, and garlic bread) were fresh and delicious. All in all, a visit here is highly recommended. We would be happy to come back.

The food is excellent; we've been here several times now, and it's always a great entrecôte, amazing sweet potato fries, and salads—everything is simply worth the money. It's just a shame that the food is now only open until 9 p.m., and drinks are only available until 9:50 p.m. Potsdam, where has your nightlife gone? It's really sad not to have any drinks in a bar after 9 p.m. But it's all due to the great politics with prices and minimum wages and a lack of staff because of the citizen's income. We know it ourselves, because we also run a bistro in Goldberg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and we have the same problems. Regards, Frank

Food very good...but the location costs

The food was great. We went because we saw online that they had gluten-free burgers. Since we have someone with celiac disease, it's always good to know where to get something like that. Unfortunately, we didn't think things through. We couldn't order fries because they used a blender fryer, and the pizza on the menu wasn't labeled gluten-free. Hence the point deduction. Still, the service was great, attentive, and knowledgeable. Whenever they couldn't find an answer, they consulted the kitchen. And the baked potato was truly amazing. So, we'll be back.

Stopped in spontaneously for dinner with the family. The selection is large and varied so there is something for everyone. The children's menu has a very nice selection. Waiters are all friendly. I can only recommend going to this restaurant to eat.

Very attentive staff accompany the guest unobtrusively throughout their visit to the Matador. The food was tasty and we had the feeling that the raw materials used were processed respectfully. Everyone can enjoy their meal here in a cozy, rustic atmosphere. There is an extra offer for children...it's great too! Of many local ones in Potsdam, one of the few worth spending money on.

The spareribs were a poem. They had a lot of meat and were so tender that the meat fell off the bones. I have rarely eaten such good spareribs. And the cocktails were also very tasty, as well as very attentive and friendly service. Overall, highly recommended.

Very nice and friendly service for lunch. The three of us, traveling back to Kassel, received the food at exactly the same time. The dishes tasted really good to everyone and were underlined by a suitable seasoning. The drinks ordered at the start and re-ordered reached us immediately. If you want to eat delicious food and enjoy a good price-performance ratio, you've come to the right place. It wasn't the last time I was here.

It was a great evening there yesterday. We had a reservation for 10 people. Everything was well prepared and the very attentive service immediately asked each of our newly arrived participants if they wanted a drink. This great service continued throughout the entire evening. The kitchen can only be praised. Great fried steaks, large spare ribs, good burgers, delicious tapas with plenty of freshly baked bread and large portions of pasta. So a Spanish/Italian Mediterranean mix. And, in my opinion, down-to-earth pricing - in contrast to many other restaurants. Last but not least, I have to mention the cozy atmosphere. I can expressly recommend the Matador. Thanks again to the great team there.

We had dinner there on Saturday evening. I haven't been so positively surprised by a restaurant in a long time! Starting from the waiters to the food! My girlfriend had a burger and the best sweet potato fries I've ever eaten. I had a steak. Very few restaurants can achieve a medium-well cooking level for their steak. The food actually came to the table perfectly here. The baked potato was good too. The drinks and appetizer were also on point. The restaurant itself is nice and not that huge. So we'll definitely be back!

We were only in Potsdam for three days, but because of the good food and the very courteous service, we had dinner at Matador twice during that time. As a committed vegetarian, I wouldn't have thought that I would ever praise a steakhouse like that. My absolute recommendation is the tomato soup. But the two vegetarian main courses that I ate were on a level that I was not used to from meat-heavy restaurants. For the sake of completeness, I would like to mention that my wife was also impressed by the meat dishes.

Was there for dinner and ordered a steak medium. It was medium/medium rare. I was offered to put it on the grill again but I was okay with it. The steak was tender and the taste was what you would expect. Unfortunately, I think it's a shame that the steaks are served without a side dish. You have to pay for each supplement. Someone else might see it differently and say I don't want any side dishes anyway. At least for me bread is part of it. Therefore -1 for service. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The restaurant is cozy and harmonious for a meal with friends. Would I come back mhh yes only if I really want to eat a steak.
