Steakhaus Leon's in Rostock

I was able to make a reservation easily in preparation for a vacation, but it wouldn't have been necessary. So I entered the almost empty restaurant with my wife, somewhat skeptically. But the greeting from the service employee was already convincingly friendly. The drinks came quickly and the menu also contained enough dishes that appealed to my wife, who is not so fond of meat. Since I don't bother preparing a perfect steak at home, I left this task to the chef, who I didn't know, and he completely convinced me. Price and performance match. The only thing that doesn't get the highest rating is the ambience, but I was in a restaurant and not an art gallery.

Schöner Abend mit meinen Mädels. Richtig leckeres Essen, auch für unsere Töchter, die vegetarisch unterwegs sind. Wir hatten Garnelen-Pfännchen und Carpaccio vorweg, die Mädels u.a. Zwiebelringe. Hauptgerichte mit Rinderfilet absolut fantastisch.

It was a nice meal again. Good location, rustic and delicious food.

Since we strolled through the city on Friday evening to look for a few Christmas presents and anyway in the evening we went to the Paul Panzer Live in the Stadthalle, and because we were hungry, a lot of people wanted to go to a steak restaurant where I had a good meal with other friends. Since I saw that spare ribs were on offer on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, I looked at the menu for alternatives. The menu had a lot of products, which I personally don't like. You sit there and see too many dishes. What makes you decide to search further and further because you can't decide. The friend I was there with looked and found something after 2 minutes. After 15 minutes I decided to try a rather unusual dish in a steak restaurant: schnitzel gratinated with bacon, tomatoes and BBQ sauce. Since I am a chef myself. (sorry was) I'm still family bound.^^ ...Isn't it unusual that I have something to complain about about my (former) competitors. We had what I already found a lot on the menu: 20 different dishes + salads and desserts. The dishes were 5×cooked fish dishes, 5×fried fish, 5×schnitzel and 5×steak dishes. There were also 5 types of vegetables to choose from depending on the season. And 5 filling side dishes. There were no changes in price because the sweet potato fries cost €3 more in price. Map with the boss and if there was a chef always edited in the restaurants where I performed my services. Sorry, I'm digressing a bit. Well, the drinks and food were chosen and, as usual, we talked about it among friends. I've never drunk the beer before but it was quite good. Then the food came. It looked great, some sweet potato fries looked a bit burnt The gratinated schnitzel was quite good, the first piece had bacon, tomato and cheese, hardly any BBQ sauce where the taste was a bit more intense, the remaining pieces had BBQ sauce. You could still taste the bacon in between, but otherwise the BBQ sauce masked the taste of the schnitzel and tomatoes. I don't blame anyone, especially the cook. But usually you should know that BBQ sauce has a more intense taste than meat or other ingredients. The mayonnaise served in a small bowl looked like a cream in consistency. Mayonnaise is a little liquid and was also served as a sauce for the fries. The sweet potato fries, although some looked a bit burnt, were absolutely tasty and crispy. I'm interested in where you get them from. The side salad with the dressing was also great. The bill is a bit pricey but it's worth a visit. Next time I'll have steak again. 😅 What I personally like, I asked the service lady if the tip would be shared with the chef and she said yes. Personally, I think it's great because I also got something from tips in most restaurants. Ultimately, every restaurant depends only on the service but also on the chef(s). I used tips to pay for vacations for my wife and children. A little relaxation without having to break into your normal budget is worth its weight in gold, especially in this industry, so I'm happy to tip a little more. I would like to come back here, maybe in a few days/weeks when the Christmas market is finished. 😉

I thought for a long time whether I should write something about my visit. However, even a week later, visiting you bothers me so much that I'm going to say it now. When I reserve a table at a higher-priced steakhouse, I actually expect a set table. There was simply nothing here apart from salt and pepper and an extinguished candle. “Setting up” then consisted of putting down a plate with cutlery. We were given meal cards with different prices (bruschette sometimes €11.90 or €12.50). Unfortunately, the aioli only tasted like mayonnaise and probably just missed the garlic. The worst, however, was the T-bone steak. For an impressive €100.10 (see picture) I expect a highlight. But what you delivered was terrible. For this price, it's simply not appropriate to mess up this piece of meat with chives and other indefinable ingredients. In addition, the quality (infused with tendons) was not even remotely commensurate with the price. The cooking point was not met (medium ordered, received well). When I explained the problem, I received the answer: “Unfortunately you can’t figure it out.” The espresso was only served lukewarm. Sorry, but that was the first and last time. By the way, it would be nice if you could repair at least one of the three broken urinals.

Unfortunately nothing special with overpriced prices. The far too long menu actually gives it away...with everything on offer...i.e. Fish, meat, burgers, pasta, ribs, steaks, schnitzels, salads, vegetarian and and and the food can only be mediocre. The service leaves a lot to be desired...if I have to ask for cutlery twice. What was positive was that we got the tastiest onion rings there.

The one star is for the nice service at breakfast. Breakfast not recommended! Not much choice at the buffet and everything wasn't fresh, the rolls were old and very hard, even the coffee didn't taste good. And very expensive at €16.90 per person.

We were on a shopping spree and urgently needed a little refreshment. Since we have been to Leon's several times, we chose this restaurant, which is located in a small courtyard (the Hopfenmarkt). We didn't have to wait and were seated straight away (note: due to the excellent quality, a reservation is STRONGLY recommended for the evening!) Our food came without any significant waiting time and tasted absolutely first class. We would like to highlight the very nice and courteous service, to whom we would like to thank once again. Ms. L. knew how to unobtrusively convey to the guests how much she enjoyed her job: we found her sensitive way of dealing with customers to be remarkable. Conclusion: if you want to have a good meal in the old town in Rostock, you can't miss “Leon's”. Absolutely recommended!

A very pleasant steakhouse with a wide selection, not just steaks. In my opinion, the prices, especially for salads and desserts, are a bit too high. However, the food and service was OK.

We were able to spontaneously reserve a place here for the evening on the holiday, which made us very happy! Went there as a family with our youngest son. Our service was really very nice and also absolutely child-friendly! You don't actually experience that everywhere, especially in the evening business, here you had the absolute feeling that it was totally okay to go out to eat here with a small child! The children's menu was also absolutely sufficient and it was a very large portion, which was nice because the children's portions are often really small! We adults had steak and it was really fantastic! I would have preferred to eat another one straight away. The only side dish I had was the pan-fried vegetables, which were also very tasty! I would have liked a few more alternatives here, which didn't necessarily mean fries or potatoes but it was delicious! There was a salad first and it was really good too! All in all it was a nice evening with very tasty food, which was worth the price and we will definitely come back!

Also Dienstag und Mittwoch hintereinander zum Rippchen satt essen dort gewesen. Die Rippchen zart und in drei verschiedenen Geschmacksrichtungen. Beide Abende super nette Bedienungen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und würden wieder kommen, wenn es uns nochmal nach Rostock verschlägt.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend the restaurant. After we sat down, we had to wait about 20 minutes until someone came and asked for the drinks. The rest also took a very long time. A total of 3 things were done wrong with my order. The food itself was okay but definitely not worth the money. My steak was a bit tough and cooked incorrectly. You should expect more from a steak house. The waitress who took our food was very nice. However, the other waiter seemed slightly annoyed and was quite passive aggressive. However, it should be noted that the beer is delicious and the interior is very cozy.

We spontaneously called Leon's and tried to get seats. It worked too. We were there on time and received a friendly welcome. Drinks came immediately and then the food. It was delicious. First the tiger prawns and then the steak. Really delicious. We will definitely come back and have also recommended it to our families, friends, relatives.

Restaurante nice and good selection of food. Friendly staff Portion was okay too

Were here on a Monday with the family. Basically you can say that the service was friendly and the drinks and food came quickly. The children were also well looked after. Then the problems arose. There was a sign saying "Swine for 15.90". I thought the offer was good and ordered the Hamburger Schnitzel. My wife only ordered a baked potato and a side salad from the side dishes. To my surprise, it was a main course with the baked potato and, for me, a schnitzel without an offer. In the end we paid almost 10 euros more. The schnitzel wasn't good either. A little chewy and very very fatty. We won't go here again.

Quality beef, and the rest of the food is alright as well. The staff is nice, they pay attention. The vibe is defined by high paying locals.

Tourist rip-off. Today we were disappointed in many ways. Bad service, long waiting times. We had actually reserved a cozy table for my birthday, which was supposed to be set outside in the nice weather (statement on the phone). Nobody on site knew anything about it. Tables were quickly put together. The dilemma continued. A filet mignon, raw in the middle, was declared medium rare by the waitress. Fried potatoes as limp as if they came out of a pot, etc. I eat out regularly in Rostock, but this was the worst experience, despite the high prices I had in Rostock. Definitely my last visit there. I will advise my friends and business partners against it. It was the first time I wasn't willing to leave a tip. Service desert Leon's restaurant.

A nice start into the new week to the entire team at Steakhaus Leon's 🌞. We were their guests for the first time yesterday, Sunday August 4th, 2024, after making a reservation by phone two days earlier. We received a very friendly welcome and were given a very nice, comfortable table. The food was absolutely great and absolutely worth the money, especially since the portions were completely sufficient. At the end we received a small thank you from the kitchen in the form of 2 bottles whose contents looked like orange juice. My boyfriend tried to drink it for breakfast this morning and threw up because it was something completely different. Namely something to grill. In any case, we still had fun this morning from yesterday evening. We can definitely recommend this steakhouse. Next, a visit to the hop cellar is planned due to the managing director's great article in the Ostseezeitung. We really liked this one, as I am a trained restaurant expert myself. The waiter was unfriendly and/or incompetent: at first it was said “yes, there are no bones in the fish”, then when I pointed out that this wasn’t the case, he replied “it’s up to the manufacturer, there are only a few bones and “They’re soft anyway” – serious now? Why couldn't you say that at the beginning?!! In such cases, an alternative/improvement could also be offered. Incompetent

We arrived quite late in Rostock and this was closest to wherewe were staying. The food was surprisingly good and thd portion size quite big. Didn’t manage to take photos of the food but their steak was cooked well, we had the ribs and the duck burger. All very well executed.

Were curious about the steaks in the highly praised special oven, well. It would be particularly juicy if the cooking point had been reached. And no one needs the mumbo-jumbo with the “special knife” from the suitcase. The highlight was the small dollop of herb butter, served on a cheap plastic board. So all in all, we've eaten at steakhouses for less money.

Das Essen war weniger einladend. zum Beispiel, Geflügelleber bestand hauptsächlich aus Zwiebeln, darunter befanden sich 3 Stück Geflügelleber. Ein weiteres Beispiel das Sauerfleisch, es bestand hauptsächlich aus Gemüse, Aspik und sehr wenig Fleisch.

There were three of us there. The food was great. We had the T-bone steak twice and the classic ribs once. Everyone was very satisfied. The staff was very friendly and always on point without being intrusive. In terms of price it costs a little more, but if you want to eat well you have to invest a few euros more. Clear recommendation from us. We will be back. You may want to reserve a table.

It was our first visit to Leon's because my son wanted to eat steak for his birthday and this restaurant was recommended to me by work colleagues. Nice quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The food was terrific and delicious and the service was courteous and polite. We'll be back ☺️

As a family, we spontaneously decided to have lunch at this restaurant. We had reserved a table for. However, when we arrived there was no reservation🙄. The Staekhouse is currently advertising a CRISPY vegetable pan. I then ordered these and got ratatouille. However, the vegetables were swimming in oil and were anything but crunchy. More like stew. I didn't even eat half of it and mentioned it to the employee. However, there was no apology and the price of €23 for stew is very excessive! I'd rather go to the Block House and eat a crispy vegetable stir-fry!

I like the restaurant very much. I think the location is very good, central but in a quiet area. The food tasted very good, the staff is professional, very nice and friendly. The ambience is also great. The outdoor area is also very nicely decorated.

We were in Rostock for a few days and stayed overnight at the Hopfenmarkt and ate at the associated Leon's. The food was very tasty and the service, especially Jonny, was super nice. We had to wait a bit for the food, but were compensated by the delicious food. We had fish fillet and fillet minced steak with herb butter. The breakfast was simple but had everything you needed. We'd love to come back.

Extremt otrevlig servitör som slängde menyer på bordet, inte ville ta beställning innan alla satt ner samt skällde ut andra gäster för att dom inte kunde tyska. När servitören skällde ut min vän för att denne ansåg att ljudet på mobilen var för högt så lämnade vi restaurangen innan beställning. Kommer aldrig tillbaka.

Vi är det andra paret som lämnade restaurangen. Instämmer att kyparen var fruktansvärt otrevlig. Hur är det möjligt att kunna arbeta med service o vara så fientlig mot sina kunder. Tur att det finns andra restauranger i Rostock som uppskattar kunder.

Extremt otrevlig kypare som skällde på gästerna, slängde menyerna i bordet. Vårt sällskap lämnade direkt likas ett annat svenskt par som också blev illa behandlade.

On a short trip to Rostock we came across Leon's by chance and had dinner there. We thank chance because all 3 dishes were delicious. The service staff was very friendly and attentive. I'd love to come back to Rostock next time.

We were served by Jonny today and I have never experienced such great service! He read your every wish and everything tasted great as always!

We were there for the first time this week. The service was very attentive and friendly, there were no long waiting times. The dishes were nicely presented. The food has high prices, so you come with very high expectations. Unfortunately, these expectations were not met. The quality of the meat was not particularly high. 40 euros for beef fillet and 31 euros for rum steak and all that WITHOUT a side dish, you would expect something.

Unfortunately, as prices have risen, the quality has declined significantly since my last visit 8 years ago. The meal looked very appetizing, but was dry and had little flavor as there was very little marinade and no sauce whatsoever.

An unimaginatively prepared dish, the kind that every average sports restaurant offers, was sold here at a considerable markup. For twenty-three euros I would have expected more from a steakhouse here. There is no repetition factor in any way. For a total of around 30 euros, I simply expect more from a self-proclaimed steak house than a really sad steak au four, which in terms of quality and appearance meets the standards of a state-run cafeteria. I also think it's a rumor that in a steakhouse you have to remember to indicate the degree of doneness of the meat.

We had the pleasure of dining there on February 19, 2024. I ordered a BBQ burger with fried potatoes. When I took the order, I was initially confused that they didn't ask what level of doneness I wanted, even though this restaurant describes itself as a steakhouse. When I was handed the BBQ burger in question, I took two forks and unfortunately discovered that the patty was completely fried. This meant that the flesh in the mouth was more like the sole of a shoe. When I politely complained about the burger to our waiter, it was explained to me that burgers are always cooked through, without exception. Since I couldn't fully understand this, I asked whether these were 100% beef. Unfortunately, I couldn't get an answer and it was only after a long delay that the burger was taken back. The second burger was medium and much better. It's not entirely clear to me why a steakhouse doesn't state on the menu that all patties are only fried "well done". Since this is not common practice, I would have liked such information in advance. The fried potatoes, on the other hand, were acceptable.

We rented the hotel for 2 nights and had our breakfast here. We also had dinner once. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the breakfast. Everything you would want to eat was available in sufficient quantities and fresh. If something ran low it was immediately refilled. The staff is very friendly and you never had the feeling that anyone was unfriendly or very stressed. We were also served very quickly for dinner. The dishes were hot and fresh. Steaks were to the desired degree of doneness. Very good. However, I have to complain that everything was done a little carelessly. Steak on the plate, a few fries on the side, chives on top, over, over, good. I would have liked a little more “love”. A floret of herb butter goes with a steak. There could have been a few more fries and a minute or two longer in the deep fryer certainly wouldn't have hurt. However, our service was still very friendly, quick and corrected this "defect" (if it was one) immediately. I asked for a vinegar and oil dressing with the salad, which isn't on the menu, and got a bottle each of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Ok - you can do it that way, but it's not really atomic physics to throw together a vinaigrette like that :) and along with yogurt and American dressing, it's just part of it. What stood out negatively was the card. This looks very untidy and overloaded and unprofessionally made. There is definitely a need for improvement here. Especially since the menu that hangs outside the restaurant only shows part of what is on the menu in the restaurant. All in all, we were full, the service is very good, the food is okay. You can recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience.

Full ribs weren't very convincing. Too much marinade and pale meat and tender meat that falls away from the bone can also be done differently.

Unfortunately, we were really unlucky on Saturday. After ordering the drinks, it took about 20 minutes for delivery and so the food didn't get any better, so we waited about 1.25 hours and then we felt like it The meal was over. The restaurant was not fully booked and if it should take longer you can inform the guest in advance and then have the opportunity to decide for yourself whether you want to wait that long.

Very delicious steak and ribs with good quality. The pork steak is not recommended (my opinion) because it is a little bit dry. But the rib eye steak is really good. Good salad also. Of course they also have vey good homemade limonade. Friendly service.

Essen lecker. Service freundlich und aufmerksam. Sitzplätze angenehm komfortabel. Zu den Toiletten leider eine Menge an Stufen in den Keller zu nehmen.

Wir waren am 2. Weihnachtstag dort essen. Das Essen war heiss und lecker,die Portionen ausreichend um satt zu werden. Das Bruschetta war üppig belegt und toll im Geschmack. Das Fleisch nicht trocken oder ähnliches. Der Kellner war nett und aufmerksam. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Kleines Steak und Fischrestaurant. Wir hatten zu Weihnachten einen Tisch vorbestellt und bekamen dann einen Recht enge Platz vor dem Eingang des WC's. Also wir um einen anderen Tisch baten wurde dem Wunsch entsprochen, dieses aber doch mit leichtem Zahneknirschen. Das Essen war Qualitativ gut. Die Portionen dem Preis gegenüber relativ klein. Es würde. Knödel bestellt und Kartoffeln gebracht. Auf Ansprache würden diese aber sofort aus gewechselt. Der Service am Tisch war aufmerksam und freundlich.

Wir waren im angrenzenden Hotel untergebracht dadurch kamen wir zum Restaurant. Sehr gutes Essen, Service, Preis Leistung super.

Wir sind nach längerer Zeit mal wieder im Leons gewesen und waren sehr positiv überrascht . Das Essen war sehr gut und bei der Kellnerin hatte man das Gefühl, dass sie ihren Job gerne macht . Sehr tolles Restaurant, top Service, feinstes, perfekt gegartes Fleisch. Super Qualität. Das drum herum war ebenfalls top. Und es gab sogar eine Auswahl an Messern zum steak. Sehr toller move. Immer wieder gerne und nur zu empfehlen !

Wir waren in der Stadt unterwegs und wollten Mittag essen die Restaurants die wir aufgesucht hatten waren voll und längere Wartezeiten waren vor programmiert im Leon haben wir sofort Platz gefunden das Essen war sehr schmackhaft freundliche aufgeschlossene Bedienung war wie immer angenehm

Gemütliches Ambiente und Tische mit ausreichend Platz für Teller und Co. Das Essen, bis auf Details, absolut genießbar. Das Würzfleisch auf dem Schnitzel darf gerne etwas feiner / kleiner sein, es soll ja nur ein Topping sein. Service ist nett, freundlich, und zur Stelle, wenn ein Wunsch offen ist. Ein klein wenig Wartezeit beim Essen, aber noch absolut im Rahmen. Wir wünschen weiterhin viel Erfolg.

Wir waren heute das erste Mal im Leon's. Ein wunderschönes Lokal mit edler Ausstattung. Das Essen war sehr lecker und ausgiebig. Für uns aber besonders hervorzuheben das freundliche und vor allem kinderfreundliche Personal. Mit unserem 21 Monate altem Sohn Essen zu gehen ist immer stressig, da er selten ruhig am Tisch zu beschäftigen ist, sondern gerne und ausgiebig rumläuft und Treppen steigt. Das Personal hatte total Verständnis, ist super liebevoll mit ihm umgegangen und es gab so gar Smarties geschenkt. Ein Riesengroßes Dankeschön an das Abend-Team vom 2.12.23 für ein so großes Herz für Kinder. Das tat der angespannten Mama-Seele mal sehr gut, dass Kinder mal so Willkommen sind. Danke und bis zum nächsten Mal. ❤

Schade,dass die Weihnachtsfeier durch das schlechte Essen so getrübt wurde.Die Ente hatte einen sehr tranigen, unangenehmen Geschmack.Die Soße glich einem Pudding und der Rotkohl war auch nur eine grobe,dicke Masse.Der Schokobecher für 10,- war lieblos und für den Inhalt unverschämt. Wirklich schade, denn der Kellner war sehr nett. Werde hier leider nicht mehr Essengehen.

Leider war es ein totaler Reinfall. Küche und Service waren völlig überfordert. Alles dauert ewig. Am Nachbartisch gingen die Gäste nach 2 Stunden ohne zu essen. Bei uns dauerte es weit über eine Stunde. Das Abkassieren war ebenfalls nochmals ein Geduldspiel, welches wir nach weiteren 40 Miniten geschafft haben. Schade, so kann man auch die Gäste dauerhaft loswerden.

Wir waren an einem Sonntag zum Frühstück dort . Große Auswahl nettes freundliches Personal . Das Buffet für jeden etwas dabei . Leckeres Rührei , sehr große Auswahl an Käse und Müsli . Wir kommen gern wieder. DANKESCHÖN

Hatte Spareribs bestellt. War eine Riesenportion, die ich nicht geschafft habe. Vom Geschmack hätte ich mir etwas mehr erwartet.

Hotel Aalreuse: zentral,ruhig,sauber Frühstück im Leon's: Es blieb kein Wunsch übrig und ein sehr guter Service. Danke für die schönen Tage.

Leckeres Essen, netter Service und schönes Ambiente. Ich würde hier noch einmal essen!
