Blockhaus seasonal menu: duck breast on a green salad. If you want a coarsely chopped head of lettuce without any frills, you've come to the right place. Anyone expecting an appealing and well-thought-out dish will be massively disappointed unless their name is Roger Rabbit. The photo on the menu shows a colorful, deliciously arranged salad, but you only get a coarsely chopped head of lettuce. The duck breast was tasty and the orange salad dressing wasn't bad either, but that was the smallest part of the plate. I think the photos speak for themselves. Dear Blockhaus team, there's a lot of room for improvement to satisfy every guest.

The vegetarian dishes were good. However, we also ordered burgers for several adults and children and were very disappointed. My bread tasted good, but unfortunately one corner was black. The top half of the burger was missing. You basically get a sandwich. The meat, cheese, and tomato combo tasted good. I just wonder where the sauce or any of the other vegetables went. The fries are basically the same as at McDonald's. What a shame. But that's not all. The kids' burgers were the height of luxury. Half a burger, next to it! A patty, and the typical McDonald's fries. Not a single piece of vegetables, not a drop of sauce. Ketchup was available upon request. Of course, the waitress didn't ask if it tasted good. She certainly knew the answer. That's for the price.

Great salad... but I'm here for the meat! Medium isn't medium. Apparently not the rule of thumb. And I've been used to returning it for 30 years. I think it's stupid, though. That's why I only gave it 3 stars.

Today, I followed the many recommendations of friends and acquaintances and visited the restaurant with my daughter. Our reservation, made a few days earlier, was received very warmly, and we were greeted with a farewell message saying they were looking forward to our visit. The welcome was fine; we were even able to choose a table inside or outside. So far, so good. The service was fairly prompt, but seemed very annoyed; we felt somehow rushed to choose something quickly. We were interrupted several times while ordering, and we couldn't opt ​​out of side dishes, even though an extra charge for alternatives would not have been a problem. The bread is included...and ultimately stayed on the plate. The starter arrived promptly; all components were placed in front of us without comment; no one asked if we needed anything else or wanted a drink, or whether the cutlery could be used for all courses. The main course was okay, as were the portions...but nothing more. The ambiance was also fine. The seating arrangement is designed for maximum occupancy, and you do have to show a certain tolerance to accept the cozy factor with strangers to the restaurant. Overall, we felt underwhelmed and decided to skip dessert. Given the generous rating, it was manageable, but there was still plenty of room for improvement. It was a shame, though; we had hoped for more. Unfortunately, we can't recommend it.

Blockhouse's quality is always good. Service is very good. The ambiance suffers greatly from the noise. If you want a relaxed and quiet meal, you're better off somewhere else.

You can sit outside even in cooler temperatures, as the patio heaters are installed in the roof. The food is delicious, and the portions are small but plentiful. Tip: the ketchup is amazing. It comes to the table in a bottle, and you can help yourself to as much as you like...great 👍🏻

Yes, I recommend it 😊 I'm a fan of Blockhouse in every city. But here in Rostock, we really enjoyed it again. With a bit of luck, we managed to get a table without a reservation during peak hours. The menu had something for all ages, and there was also a children's menu. And something for the kids to color 😬 Drinks, starters, and main courses arrived without much of a wait. And, as always, everything was delicious. The good and friendly service was particularly noteworthy. We were served by the lovely Susi. The restaurant's location is also very nice. In the summer, it will be very pleasant outside too. We'd love to come back... 😊

This is not my first time at this restaurant, but it was fine before. But this time there was a conflict with the waiter, for which she lost her tip and was notified about it. The food was delicious as always. but the mood was already ruined, so I give it 2 stars. I don't think I'm ready to go to this restaurant again

.. no, that's just not possible... unfriendly, stressed staff, "boss" walking around the restaurant with an e-cigarette, seating too close, more than an hour between starter and main course, dessert or coffee wasn't even offered. The food was more than inadequate… vegetables were more than done, salad only consisted of a tomato and the baked potato was dry and burnt… the meat dishes didn't look any better.. What a shame

We are always on vacation at the Baltic Sea and we always visit the steak house 2-3 times. The food is simply great.

I can fully recommend this restaurant. The service is super attentive, friendly and fast. The Block House has a modern ambience - including an open kitchen where you can watch the steaks being prepared with an open flame. The visit here was definitely worth it and I will do it again at the next opportunity.

Perfect steak experience in Rostock! The Block House in Rostock impressed us completely! As soon as you enter you are greeted warmly and the cozy atmosphere immediately invites you to feel at home. The interior is stylish, well-kept and conveys a pleasant mix of elegance and coziness. The service was very attentive and friendly. Our waitress welcomed us with a smile, was always approachable and gave us very good advice, especially when choosing the perfect steak. My steak was cooked exactly as I ordered it, juicy, aromatic and of the best quality. The side dishes, including the famous baked potato with sour cream and a crunchy side salad, rounded off the taste experience perfectly. Particularly noteworthy is the in-house Block House bread, which is served fresh and wonderfully seasoned, a delight! The waiting time for the food was pleasantly short, even though the restaurant was busy. The prices are absolutely fair for the high quality offered here. Overall, a completely successful experience, excellent food, excellent service and a great atmosphere. We can fully recommend the Block House in Rostock and are already looking forward to our next visit!

Very good food and very good service. The two of us spontaneously went out to eat, got a table quickly and were served in a friendly and competent manner. Despite the crowds, the staff remained relaxed and even offered us dessert. Everything went quickly - we will visit the restaurant again on our next visit to Rostock.

We ate there after a movie and sat near the open kitchen. The meat is prepared on the grill, the other ingredients, vegetables, mashed potatoes and cream for the potatoes are portioned out in portions from a plastic bag onto the plate. We were horrified. At least we expected it to be freshly prepared. Not again

I can definitely recommend the BLOCK HOUSE Rostock! The food and service is first class. My girlfriend and I had a really nice evening there and would eat there again on our next vacation in Rostock. The service was very polite and gave us good advice. As a starter there was bruschetta, followed by a delicious salad and as a main course the delicious steak with baked potatoes. I think the pictures from my review say it all. It tasted great! The ambience was fine. Unfortunately, we were only relatively placed in the room, which is why we always had a lot of people around us.

The location is great, right in the city center, so easily accessible. A small negative point: the entrance is only accessible via stairs, which is not ideal for wheelchair users or with strollers. We would also have liked a little more cleanliness, as there was still a chip from the previous person under our table. All in all, a good restaurant that we can recommend!

Food down to earth as always. The best service ever is Susi, who, with her positive, authentic manner, pushed two tables together, one with 3 Hamburger deerns and one with two Stahlsunder couples. Delicious food, nice service, pleasant atmosphere

The meat was completely done instead of medium rare. In addition, we have always been asked whether we would have the baked potato or fries. Not this time and then the baked potato was brought. I gave them back, but as a gesture of goodwill no more fries were brought... That could have been done differently. :)

What I like best is the boss... who is really the boss. I like it when someone isn't too friendly... and somehow it is! 😬 The food is always good, and so are the staff! everything is great...

Liebe Leser, Wir waren Heute mit 6 Personen zu 18.00Uhr ohne Reservierung im Blockhaus. Die Bedienungen waren sehr freundlich. Unsere beiden Kinder bekamen sofort etwas zu malen. Die Getränke gingen flott und waren gut gekühlt. Alles gut soweit. Das sind schon mal 2 Sterne den 3. Stern gibt es für das gute Essen, aber aber auch nicht herausragend. Jetzt 2 Sterne Abzug für die Wartezeit. Wir haben 1 Stunde mit 2 kleinen Kindern auf das Essen gewartet. Ein Kinderessen auf der Kinderkarte heißt Burger und Pommes. Leute meine 4 Jahre alte Tocher war so traurig, sie hatte eine Burgerpatty, Pommes und ein Stück Brot auf dem Teller, mehr nicht.... Auf Nachfrage, erklärte man uns es geht Ihnen um das Fleischerlebnis... Das Essen war generell sehr lieblos angerichtet.

We didn't like the meat. It was very mixed and tasted partly charred. Potato gratin and goulash soup taste as if they were ready-made products from the refrigerated shelf. Service is quick and friendly. That made a very good impression at the beginning... ... however, when my sister's plate was taken from under her nose while she was still eating the bread with the sentence "You don't need the plate, you can eat with your hand" the fast service was more of a burden than a blessing. We were finished after 30 minutes. Everything happened incredibly quickly and you get the impression that you can't take your time here. Overall impression = not recommended

You have to get to a place a little bit, but it's worth it

We spontaneously decided on the Block House Rostock. And even though we were in the restaurant shortly after 5 p.m., the restaurant was already at full capacity. We ended up waiting half an hour for a table. But the wait was worth it, the food was very good and the service was very pleasant. The children's meals in particular have fair prices. Gladly again on the next vacation.

We stopped by spontaneously on the way home. Great service, it really gets everything out of the way. The food was a disaster. Small portions for a lot of money. Unfortunately we can't understand the hype around this chain. The fries were just as bad as the browned salad. Not to mention preparing the dishes. So loveless and without garnish. Sorry, we've eaten better steaks and won't be coming back. If it weren't for the great service, there wouldn't be a star.

Convenience food, the biggest laugh is the burger, which isn't one. Overall, far too expensive for the rather poor quality. It won't last another ten years.

The food was amazing, we only go to the Block House for Staeks and we have never been disappointed. That was the case again this time.

Maybe there aren't as many staff anymore, who are very nice. The food is always consistently good. Unfortunately, I was very negatively surprised at how careless and unclean the entire toilet area was.

Today this restaurant disappointed me. The ribeye is not the same. It’s not cooked in veins. It’s a pity to say goodbye..... but the prices are the same as an excellent evening buffet at my radisson hotel

Ate very good sirloin steak. Perfect. My partner had a cheeseburger. However, not in a bun as expected but on a baguette slice. Interesting variant. But the comment from the waitress was stupid: "We're not at McDonald's, we're at Block House." You don't have to say that. But otherwise everything was great. Fast and prices completely okay.

It's delicious and the price-performance ratio is completely OK. I eat there regularly. Prices have risen everywhere and portions are apparently getting smaller. But that might be misleading. Block House is really good. The restaurant has been in Rostock for a long time. It was quite crowded and it was also quite loud there. The food is good and makes you want to visit again.

The Service was a little slow but very friendly. I have to say that the T-bone was quite dry and that was what disappointed me about this meal but for the atmosphere and place everything was spectacular, however I will return because I think I should give them a second chance

Thank you for the delicious dinner. Admittedly, I was visibly irritated at first, we were greeted in an incredibly friendly manner by the assignor (head waiter) in the entrance area in the “you” form and accompanied to the seat with a casual saying. Then our waitress/service came and they wanted to take the relaxed vibe with them and blow cake. “Is it normal to have a you?” oh yes, I thought. The mood was dampened and the relaxed and pleasant visit to the restaurant was disrupted. Basically there is no problem using the “you”, but then it should be used consistently by everyone. Nonetheless, super delicious food, greetings to the kitchen and a lovely atmosphere. Small deduction for the 0'33L beers.
