Very nice shop, super nice staff But .......The food wasn't that full. I ordered a plate with several fillets with croquettes and a garlic sauce. Croquettes were good, which isn't actually difficult, but the fillets were so careless on the plate and almost fried .The portion size made me go to the Golden M shortly afterwards. It's a shame, this store has a lot more potential...

A fantastic restaurant! The food was excellent – ​​fresh, tasty and perfectly prepared. The service was first class, the staff friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. We really enjoyed our evening here and will definitely be back. Highly recommended! Five stars!

We reserved a table for three people by phone last night, which worked well. The table was in the back corner. We ordered drinks and they came relatively quickly. There were traces of lipstick on a wine glass, which is why we alerted the waitress. Who took the glass with her and replaced it. And immediately there are marks on the glass again, which is an absolute no-go! Disgusting Only after I made it very clear and said that I expected a clean glass straight away did it happen. The starters were good and left us wanting more, which was then disappointed. The fillet piece still had all the tendon in it, and one side dish was mushy frozen vegetables. And the sauce was more of a pudding. With respect, if I pay an average of 30 euros for a meal, I simply expect more, especially since I am a chef myself with over 30 years of professional experience. Even one star is still too much. Once and not again.

Simply great, I had ordered a table for 8 people, but we were 10 people, it was no problem, we got a larger table in a short time, the food was great, extra requests were no problem, I can only recommend "Bei Franz".

I had dinner at Franz's again today for probably 10 years and was very positively surprised. The reception from the waiter was very nice and funny. The steaks were tender and cooked to perfection. The waiter was very nice the whole evening and came twice to ask if everything was OK, even though the restaurant was very full... Thank you for the lovely evening..

Were there with a larger group. There were current daily offers and a very good menu. Everyone's food came at almost the same time. The quality was very good.

I don't know what people like so much about this restaurant? On Saturday we were at Franz with 5-6 people, right at the front left of the counter. It's actually not difficult to provide reasonable service for 5-6 people. The food does not correspond to the quality that it should be and the service does not correspond at all. 6€ for tzatziki with a piece of bread is crazy. I had less on my Dubrovnik plate, which cost €30, than other dishes? Starter comes with the main course. Side dishes that were too few will be charged extra despite a complaint about the food. When I looked at the bill that one large Alster had been booked too much and the fries were charged extra at €14.50, I thought it was crazy to be honest.

Very tasty and rustic. Tasted good. The green sauce is highly recommended. Dogs are also welcome.

I was at Franz's with my family on Saturday. The children's menus were ok, although one was completely forgotten, which is an absolute disgrace. And then the red rice was absolutely disgusting and not edible. Not to mention the tough and overcooked piece of meat, which is far too small. The price-performance ratio here is not even worth 1 star. You can also go to McDonalds where 80% of the family was after the disastrous visit to Franz. Thanks for nothing.

The steak was cooked just right and served in a very hot pan. I ordered an entrecote with pepper cream sauce, buttered rice and Tuscan vegetables. I don't know why the steak was topped with a large piece of herb butter, that's where the cream sauce was supposed to go. The butter rice was never served, but that didn't bother me because I wouldn't have eaten it anyway because of my low-carb diet. The menu is very confusing when it comes to side dishes.

We visited the restaurant for the first time and were completely impressed. It offers an excellent selection of steaks and meat dishes in a cozy rustic atmosphere. The parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant are practical. The service was attentive, friendly and professional. The menu offers a diverse selection of dishes, so there is something for every taste. The portions are generous and the food was consistently excellent: the fries were nice and crispy, the rice was perfectly prepared and the salad was wonderfully fresh. The meat was cooked to perfection – a real treat. We were very satisfied and are already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you for the great experience!

Went there with the family last night and we were really shocked at how bad the food was.

Meat dishes and side dishes are highly recommended. We were there with five people. The taste of the soups was not particularly recommended and you have to know that you have to live in an area with somewhat stuffy air due to 'open cooking'. The service was very nice and attentive. All in all, highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the quality has gotten worse and worse lately. My 200g sirloin steak was really a shoe sole today. Chewed on every little piece. The last quarter couldn't even be cut with a knife (there were no steak knives either). Fries were good, forgot the mayo (charged extra), salad, well. The whole thing for €21.70. Once the best steaks in town, now 3 of the last 4 times it's really bad. It's a shame, that's it for me for now.

An extremely friendly innkeeper, it was really a positive experience. It's a shame that we were only here for training, otherwise we would have found a new regular place for ourselves. Thank you for the nice evening.

Ich hatte ein Hauptgericht für 26€, welches qualitativ nur einem Kantinenessen entsprach. Ich habe die Qualität des Essens angesprochen, was aber nicht interessiert hat. Vielleicht hatte ich einfach nur Pech, dennoch sehe ich von einem erneuten Besuch ab.

We have repeatedly recommended Franz for many years and are pleased that they have maintained the standard for such a long time. We were there again on Friday. The otherwise excellent service was mediocre at best and the food was much worse than usual. Neither the owner nor the “legendary” head waiter was on board that day. Maybe that was it. We were not satisfied and really hope that it was an exception.

Really a very tasty meal, my wishes were implemented without any problems, as I prefer rice to fries. The dessert was great. Homemade tiramisu. Really delicious and recommended.

My first visit and unfortunately also the last visit. The meat 8/10, although questionable as to why there was herb butter on each steak instead of next to it. If you have enough confidence in the quality of the meat, the herb butter is not necessary. The supplements 4/10. It was frozen goods and there was not a sufficient selection of other side dishes. Table salt at a steakhouse is subpar. The drink selection 6/10. There was a classic selection, but no “trendy drinks” were to be expected. The ambience 4/10. It was more rustic and not contemporary. The service 4/10 points. The head waiter was extremely competent, but unfortunately in the wrong shop. Other waitresses were relatively rude and rude. Despite the food being served incorrectly and asking for correction, we were insulted by being told that we had ordered incorrectly. In addition, they reacted relatively unfriendly when we asked for an additional space for eight people with a reservation of seven people.

Fillet steak 200g medium rare, was really great. A bit of a long wait, but still ok. Ambiance is nothing special apart from the glass ceiling. Not a steak knife, but they would quickly become blunt because they are served in a cast iron serving pan. The only thing I missed was a black beer or Guinness, you could try something like that, it doesn't have to be on tap.

We had dinner today with 5 people, the second time we were here today. There is no third time either. Everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong. I would advise anyone not to eat here. Steaks too much pepper. No sauce to eat. Food cold, steaks not cooked through as desired. The service was bad, provocative, unfriendly, overwhelmed and couldn't be put into words. Three of us had schnitzels that were totally over salted. At the end, no drinks, be it Ouzo or anything else, sadly the motto at the shop is to shut up or there is whispering, gossiping, really embarrassing non-business behavior. Not capable of criticism. To put it briefly, it saves you money. Actually, I wish you all the best in that case, I hope you learn to deal with guests sensibly, restaurants can close quickly. Not child-friendly is another factor.

To recommend. We were in Oldenburg for a short visit and wanted to go out for dinner in the evening. Franz was recommended to us by the hotel, so we called but unfortunately the answer was automatic. But shortly after 5 p.m. my phone rang, Franz called back and I was able to reserve a table for two. Top 👍 Highly recommended food, prices are normal. There is only one thing to complain about, there was no steak knife which makes cutting a bit more difficult. 😄

Incredibly unprofessional! Not getting the meat right in a steakhouse is one thing, serving it all on a cold metal plate is another. No warmed plates. Then, after telling them several times, there was no response. First the boss was in the kitchen, then suddenly he wasn't in the shop at all. When we pointed out that everything was cold, two more tea lights were placed under the plate. Since I run the restaurant business myself, I think so Just embarrassing. When it came to paying and the waiter said we could have said something, I really lost my temper and calling myself a liar was an impudence. With just a few simple steps everything could have been rearranged and the meat would have been served I could also put it on the grill again for a moment but no, nothing happened. The sauces are always served cold and the waiter probably said 10 times that he was just a hired waiter, yes that may be the case but it is your job to make sure that the guest is satisfied goes home. When it came to paying, there was an eternal discussion, we hardly touched anything and told us several times. There was nothing he could do and then all of a sudden he did. No offer or concession came on his own either. I would have liked to have paid for everything and received a voucher and been allowed a second opinion. Instead I still had to pay 75 euros. The children's food was so spicy and not ideal for a 5 year old. It used to be a great place. It's a shame. It's a shame that the boss knows what's going on his shop is running!? In any case, I cannot recommend the plate with the Chateaubriand. I really like to spend money on good food and also on good service. There wasn't even a sorry or an offer to re-serve the food.

Unfortunately disappointed :( After we visited this restaurant full of anticipation of a great steakhouse, we were unfortunately very disappointed! I've never had so much salt and steak seasoning on a steak before. We also had asparagus and cold, wobbly Béarnaise sauce. Unfortunately, the never-smiling service didn't make it any better.

Yes, unfortunately I have to revise my previous, very positive opinion. I'll start from the beginning. The salad looks good and tastes just as good. You think, why can't you do it yourself? I mean at home. But serving the salad 5 minutes before the main course ruins everything. How I would love to enjoy it. No, I have to eat it quickly so I can devote myself fully to the main course. Shame and funny. That was different. Next point: the quality of the meat. The rump steak was very coarse and a bit difficult to chew through. Unfortunately, the cooking point, ordered "medium", was not reached. It was still raw inside. The pan offers the opportunity to continue cooking. But is that the point of the pan? The service was courteous, but also very pushy and very assertive. I don't mean the nice, tall man. Wouldn't come back for that reason alone. But also because of the sum of these experiences, I and my daughter decided today not to come back. We wish the restaurant all the best.

Seit ich denken kann gehe ich hier gerne essen! Schon als Kind sind wir mit der Familie hier eingekehrt, mit den Jahren hat sich eigentlich nicht viel verändert, ich kann dieses Restaurant nur weiterempfehlen. Außer eine entscheidende Sache: die Gerichte auf den Karten sehen toll aus allerdings werden hierzu keine Soßen serviert. Hierbei gibt es weder zu Pommes, Ketchup, oder Mayonnaise noch zu den Steaks und fleischstücken eine rote Soße, Kräuterbutter, oder Zaziki. Als wir dann noch nach Ketchup, oder Mayo für die Pommes gefragt haben, wurden uns vier kleine Tütchen gebracht die uns allerdings auch berechnet wurden, das finde ich irgendwie etwas unangemessen. Ich würde mir wünschen dass die Besitzer des Restaurants mal so ein Gericht versuchen ohne Soße zu essen um diesen Kritikpunkt nachvollziehen zu können. Ein Gericht sollte eigentlich auf der Karte so gestaltet sein, dass man es ohne etwas dazu bestellen zu müssen verzehren kann, aber Pommes, oder hacksteak ohne Soße sind nun wirklich ein Unding. Bei den heutigen Preisen fällt so ein Posten dann natürlich noch ganz schön ins Gewicht, wenn man dann noch mehrere Soßen dazu bestellen muss. Ansonsten waren wir sehr zufrieden und die Bedienungen sind alle sehr nett!
