A few days ago we were “at the fireplace” for the first time. The drinks we ordered came quickly (we were in a hurry, but hadn't discussed that), as did 'vegetable pan with turkey' and 'house pan - pork medallions with vegetables'. We really enjoyed the food, it was appetizingly prepared and well seasoned. We would have liked to have stayed longer and continued to be pampered by the attentive, polite and prompt service. We'll be back, gladly and soon!

Dear ones, yes I am biased and I admit it. Eating and drinking keeps the body and soul together, or so they say. You can experience this particularly well if you stop at the Am Kamin restaurant. As a creature of habit, the grill plate has not only grown on me, but also on my hips and stomach (no, not really, that's more my own cooking skills and quantities). Jokes aside, in the last few weeks we've been to the restaurant more often and tested the menu with several guys. No matter what dish, steak skewer with pepper sauce, pork loin with sauce made from champions and cream, etc. it's just a pleasure every time. On the terrace surrounded by "strangers" we felt more like we were with old acquaintances. Partially in work clothes, neither the super attentive staff nor other guests were bothered by it. So if you want to spend an evening with “friends” and let your palate be pampered, this is definitely the right place for you.

We went there yesterday for delicious schnitzel and fries. Very friendly and courteous staff. We will definitely stop there again on our next visit to Bad Breisig.

After good reviews we decided to eat here and were not disappointed. Although we did not try the steak we both wish we had ! We could see from others how beautifully cooked to perfection they were. Lovely restaurant on the Main Street with indoor and outdoor eating in a beautiful setting. Great selection of food and wine. The bonus for me was the salad bar which you helped yourself to. 1 staff member spoke English and was so warm, friendly & helpful. Highly recommend a visit if you are in Bad Breisig.

Wir waren jetzt schon mehrfach im Kamin und sind jedesmal begeistert. Vom durchweg super freundlichen Service bis zum perfekt gebratenen Steak paßt einfach alles! Alle Beilagen sind sehr lecker, zur Folienkartoffel gibt es ausreichend Sauerrahm, was ich in anderen Steakhäusern oft vermisse, weil nur ein kleiner Klecks auf der Kartoffel und diese dann entsprechend trocken ist, im Kamin bin ich immer glücklich :-). Das Innenambiente ist im ersten Raum gemütlich rustikal, draußen kann man auch ganz wunderbar sitzen. Wir kommen super gerne wieder!

We were looking for an honest, tasty steak after a hike and found it here. One of the few steakhouses that really fried the steak medium rare for us. There were also delicious side dishes, special requests were catered for and the service was committed and friendly. We noticed that the man enjoys his job. We spontaneously made a reservation for another evening and were thrilled a second time. When we're in the area again, we know where to eat. Thank you very much for two very nice evenings!

We were in this restaurant with friends and received a friendly welcome. The menus were brought straight away and the food didn't take long to arrive. (2 x rump steak, 1 x salmon and 1 x sea bream fillet) The toilets can be reached by stairs. However, there is a disabled toilet at ground level. There are plenty of parking spaces next door.

While looking for a way to find a restaurant open in our area on a holiday combined with Monday, we (my girlfriend and I) became aware of this restaurant. The reviews sounded good. So why not give it a try. The restaurant is centrally located and modern/nice to look at from the outside. The interior also looks inviting. Now to the important thing: The service was fantastic. Attentive, friendly and quick. The food came at reasonable times and was of top quality and very nicely prepared. The price/performance ratio is more than satisfactory. A schnapps on the house rounded off the overall package. We will come back and are looking forward to it. ------‐----- UPDATE: 03/26/2024 10 months and three times eating here later, another recap of the restaurant. Nothing has changed regarding the points mentioned above. The service is fantastic, the food is excellent and the price/performance ratio is still good. An absolute recommendation for anyone who likes good food, great service and a nice atmosphere. Thank you for great evenings so far and hopefully some more in the future.

Steaks, lamb and turkey were well cooked and the quality was excellent. At the salad buffet, coleslaw and carrot salad were fresh; ready-made salads are often served here. We went to the Steakhaus Am Kamin for the first time. We were 4 people for dinner. Friendly welcome. Service very attentive and willing to have a joke. Food served quickly even though it was very busy. Tastes great, very nicely prepared and plentiful. We were all thrilled and will definitely be back.

Today we were at the fireplace for the second time and were even more excited than our first visit there. The service is comparable to a star restaurant. Courteous and super nice with recommendations for drinks and in addition to trying different sauces with the dishes. The menu is very appealing and the dishes are all tasty and filling enough. We would love to come back again and again and thank you for the lovely evening.

I have known this restaurant for a very long time (39 years), our first wedding anniversary in 1984 Unfortunately, the new owners didn't have the courage to completely renovate everything! The fireplace room still looks old-fashioned! However, the food was very tasty 😋 We had the steak platter for 2 people. It would be better to serve the fries and croquettes separately so that they don't absorb the meat juice! And I would recommend other warming plates I'd love to come again

We were here for dinner yesterday and ordered two steak platters medium rare Singidunum. The meat was cooked to perfection and to our complete satisfaction. The side dishes were also without exception delicious. You could swap sauces and side dishes as you wish. The pepper sauce is recommended. The service was also super attentive and friendly. We had a lovely, exuberant evening and would love to come back. The price-performance ratio is unbeatable.

Wir haben gestern 3x Schnitzel (davon 1 Kinderschnitzel) und 1x Pfeffersteak zum mitnehmen abgeholt und waren echt begeistert. Falls das Steakhaus heute offen gehabt hätte, wären wir sofort wieder gekommen. Und das ganze für einen unschlagbaren Preis von knapp 50€. Außerdem war das Essen in nur knapp 15 min abholbereit und die Servicekräfte waren unfassbar freundlich 😊👍 Wir kommen definitiv wieder.

Wir waren schon mehrmals zum Abendessen in diesem Restaurant und haben immer eine wunderbare Behandlung erfahren. Das Essen ist köstlich und der Preis angemessen für die gebotene Qualität. Vor nicht allzu langer Zeit haben wir mit Freunden unsere kleine Hochzeit dort gefeiert, und es war sehr einfach, alles zu organisieren, als wir mit ihnen sprachen. Die Leute waren begeistert von den Gerichten und dem Service, und wir waren wie immer zufrieden. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Wir waren zum Hochzeitstag dort. Ich hatte den Tisch reserviert und er war extra Dekoriert. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Getränke kamen zügig. Die bestellten Vorspeisen ( Tomatensuppe und Champignons) haben uns schon mal gut geschmeckt. Als Hauptgang hatten wir die Steakplatte für 2 Persohnen mit "rar" gebratennem Fleisch. Auch ein umbestellen auf das Pfannengemüse war kein Problem. Das Fleisch war hervorragend gebraten und in Streifen geschnittem. Das Gemüse war seht lecker, bis auf die Aubergine. Den Nachtisch heben wir uns geschenkt und namen einen Espresso und einen Trester. Im Nachgang fragte der Kellner, ob wir noch einen Sliwowitz probieren möchten. Der war richtig Klasse. Das alte Restaurant "Am Kamin", war gut und gut Bürgerliche Küche, aber die Transformation in das Steakhaus ist gelungen. Wir kommen wieder. Reservieren ist empfohlen.

The food arrive looks all good My steak is well-done….. the waiter see ist not good so he ask to change , I change it. I wait, my family ready with the food and actually arrive my food this time with chutney I cut the meat is completely rare :(( I give up paid and gone… Sad story because is not cheap and say it is a stake house…:(

Restaurant Am Kamin is family owned & operated and located at the main road in Bad Breisig at walking distance from the Rhein River. The restaurant has a cosy dining room, including a terrace where you can have lunch & dinner. We came on a week-day evening and the place was packed, a good sign. The menu offers traditional German dishes: good quantities of tasty food. Decoration and table decoration give the restaurant a classical German ambiance. Staffs are friendly and service is adequate. Parking next door. We recommend Restaurant Am Kamin to anyone who seeks good food at an acceptable price.

We were concerned about the name but should have had no fears as this was probably the best meal we had in 18 nights of travel through Germany. A modern European basis providing fish and meat well cooked backed up by very good friendly service

Lovely place to eat. He staff were wonderful as we speak no German the waitress translated the menu to us. There were four of us and we all had something different to eat. Every dish was superb.

We expected staff in a restaurant in a town surrounded by vineyards to be in a position to offer advice on wine in the menu. When we asked the staff for recommendations, all she said was that they served red, white and rose. We noted also that they had Napa Valley wine on the menu. In most Napa Valley restaurants, they offer Napa Valley wine, not Mosel reisling. As we don't know much about German wine, we asked for Pils instead. We were not asked if we wanted big or small glasses, but looking at other tables, we assumed we would get the big glasses. As it turned out, we were wrong and we got very small glasses. We waited 50 minutes for our meal. When it came, it was lovely and hot but average-tasting. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who is hungry, does not speak German and wants to sample the wines of the region.

The restaurant serves modern German cuisine and they go through a lot of effort with their specials (which are always around seasonal products, such as white asparagus in spring, duck in the winter etc.). They also have some "themed menues" during the week at very reasonable prices and often do regional promotions (such as Norwegian dishes - e.g. the elk and lobster are to die for - or fish buffets). I feel the restaurant is excellent value for money (e.g. typically a 3 course dinner incl. drinks would be under EUR 50 p.P.). The food is very tasty and the service always nice and friendly. We can highly recommend the restaurant and will definitely be back!
